Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Parallel Works 2: “Kittan Zero” /Official Art by Sushio (すしお) (PART 20) : The Black Siblings (Kittan, Kiyoh, Kinon, Kiyal) and Maiko ! SO beautifully designed… #TheseDopeLines
Zhao: I didn’t know you were skilled with broadswords, Prince Zuko. Zuko: I’m not. They’re antiques. Just decorative.
Toph: Aang! I found these nuts in your bag. I figured you wouldn’t mind. And besides, even if you did, you’re too much of a pushover to do anything about it. Aang: As a matter of fact, I don’t mind. I’m happy to share anything I have. Toph: You know, I’m really glad you feel that way, because I also have this great new nutcracker. Aang: Actually, I’d prefer if you didn’t…That’s an antique, hand crafted by the monks…
Hey, gang, time for another round of a game I like to call: “Look at All These Zuko/Aang Parallels!”
So, in “Bitter Work,” we have two parallel plotlines: our A-plot (which revolves around Aang), and our B-plot (which revolves around Zuko). Our usual episode plot, basically.
Anyway, these two plots follow the same basic structure: Aang wants to learn earthbending, and Zuko wants to learn lighteningbending. To accomplish this, both Aang and Zuko must overcome personal obstacle to get over their block. While Aang eventually overcomes his block, Zuko does not, due to his internal turmoil.
