THIS! I have experienced this feeling roughly thrice in my life so far. Reading isn’t just my hobby, it is my world. It takes me to a safe haven. It allows me to escape any and every problem I may have in this reality.
I read stuff that may not cause me to feel as though unless ‘all living human beings read the book’ my world will be incomplete. No. Sometimes I read stuff that sends my mind into imagination overdrive. I want to keep those writings, those stories to myself and enjoy and share with those who’ll appreciate it.
God!!! Books!!! Damn it. I mean, i love love love reading! I can’t even put it into words. My english teacher was talking to us in college today and she told us a few things: There are more stars in the galaxy than all the grains of sand in this world. There are also more atoms in each human being than the stars of the whole galaxy combined. So basically, we are all mini-galaxies.
I want to thank my galaxies: @writingcreatingstorytelling@soulful-ofevans@sanddollarsandstars@mculove@chrisevanshh for being extremely supportive of me during the last 2 weeks and reblogging my stories. Your writings have meant the world to me and been a place of escape for me. I thank you for boosting my self-confidence - something I’ve always lacked - and showing me that my writing may be worth something. I love you all so much!
Did you know that for pretty much the entire history of the human species, the average life span was less than thirty years? You could count on ten years or so of real adulthood, right? There was no planning for retirement, There was no planning for a career. There was no planning. No time for plannning. No time for a future. But then the life spans started getting longer, and people started having more and more future. And now life has become the future. Every moment of your life is lived for the future–you go to high school so you can go to college so you can get a good job so you can get a nice house so you can afford to send your kids to college so they can get a good job so they can get a nice house so they can afford to send their kids to college.
“And I wanted to tell her that the pleasure for me wasn’t planning or doing or leaving, the pleasure was in seeing our strings cross and separate and then come back together.” ― John Green, Paper Towns
People are multi-dimensional. By making the effort to imagine all the dimensions of a person, you can start to understand where they come from. Learning how to relate to other people is one of the keys to rising above hate and bullying.
