papadama

lee adama: a boy who was constantly chasing his loved ones, desperately trying to cling to them and make them stay so he could form meaningful relationships and repair the neglect and abuse of his mother and absentia of his father that made him grow up too quickly and form a parental relationship with his younger brother who he managed to raise despite his mother but then was unable to protect anyway

bill adama: a boy who was constantly running away from everyone, desperately trying to keep people out of his head and finding solace in the military heirarchy to make people follow social rules and keep them away in reaction to being an extremely young veteran with an absent father and absolutely no support system after he was furloughed out of the fleet

Kara and Lee’s arcs as Bill’s children are opposite each other–the series starts with Bill and Kara understanding each other, getting each other on this deep level and being on the same page with everything. Whereas Bill and Lee are essentially strangers who can’t communicate, look at each other, or be in the same room. Even when they hug after Lee not being dead, neither really looks at each other and they flee from the situation pretty quickly.

And then after that Kara steps further and further away from Bill, while Bill and Lee slowly come to understand each other better. They don’t become any more similar but they do understand each other, which is something that becomes more and more of struggle for Bill and Kara as the series progresses.

MY BRAIN JUST SUPPLIED ME WITH A SCENARIO WHERE LEE DAMAGES HIS LEG IN A DOGFIGHT LIKE HIS COCKPIT COLLAPSES IN ON ITSELF OR SOMETHING AND HIS MUSCLE MEMORY IS GONE SO HE HAS TO RELEARN TO WALK

AND HE’S LIKE ‘THX DAD FOR SHOWING UP AND HELPING ME WITH MY PT’

AND BILL’S LIKE 'WELL I MISSED YOU LEARNING TO WALK THE FIRST TIME AROUND’

BRAIN YOU AR E A

TRAITOR

more reasons tamara should have been resurrected/joe only name one son william

  • can we all imagine her stepping majestically out of the resurrection tub, stepping up to bill and in her sweet-but-im-going-to-slaughter-your-enemies way say ‘don’t worry baby brother, i’ll make the monsters go away’
  • like she used to read this kid to sleep
  • because he was afraid of the monsters in his closet
  • can we all remember that bill considered himself to be the runt of the litter and was bullied in school
  • kid was probably afraid of monsters
  • tamaraaaaaaaa

Top Six Adama/Kara Father-Daughter Feels (as a companion to wolfheartedqueen's)

I’m so angry with feelings right now

  1. “I know what you are. You’re my daughter.”
  2. Any time he touches her hair to push it behind her ears like gdi EJO hitting all my stupid like daddy-daughter feels buttons there fuck you not even in the Electra Complex way this time.
  3. Especially in the Kobol reunion because I think Bill was somewhat aware of Kara’s history (especially due to how he acted during Act of Contrition) of abuse and approaches her very carefully… like… from the side and very slowly and and she kind of lets her hair cover her face to hide and he brushes it out of her face until she hugs him.
  4. When Cavil is revealed as a cylon and Kara yells at Cavil and Bill’s first reaction isn’t even to reach for his gun but to himself between Kara and the cylon she’s provoking.
  5. THE FOREHEAD KISS AT THE END OF 1.05
  6. Any iteration of “whaddya hear, Starbuck?“ bUT DEFINITELY NOT THE ONE IN DAYBREAK.
