Pat's Acres Drift Session in Canby, Oregon May 11, 2013
Once a month, drivers with varying skill level and and wheel color gather at a go kart track to slide around until their tires surrender.
During the short lifespan of a drift tire, amazing skills and fire demonstration have been manifested.
A 2JZ and a RX7 isn’t required to pull moves like these, but having the combination does makes it much more extravagant.
There’s no better way to spend Mother’s Day weekend than drifting an elegant car with exuberant passengers.
This picture was selected not only because the exit left a spectacular smoke trail but also of the watermark placement. I really liked how it’s still visible yet not intrusive.
Being a go kart track, cars can’t actually reach super high speeds. However, playing around with the shutter speed gave me this shot.
Crazy engine swaps filled the paddock and the track, like this supercharged 1UZ Cressida.
And the fire demonstration.
Although I have been covered in the remnants of rubber and inhaled about just the same amount, Pat’s Acres Drift Session has been one of my most experiential events yet. So keep burning away those treads because I will definitely be back.
This is Raymond, figuratively signing out.
PS: Don’t be alarmed that you are now seeing the Panty Heist signatures on all my pictures. I did not steal these pictures from their photographer that also happens to have the same exact name as me. I will be covering automotive events for them so pretty much all pictures from here on out will have their watermarks. But I will still continue to write my articles for your indulgence.
