Just a little something for you all tonight! I hope you had a great halloween!

“C’mon Y/N, it’s still going to be fun! The boys will be so sad if you don’t turn up.” Oli was pleading with you as you helped him finish applying fake blood to his face as he sat on the counter in his bathroom. You had to admit, the Halloween party was definitely going to be fun, but you couldn’t help but be a little bummed.
You had thought that Joe would be home for a few days, during the break between the UK and Australian legs of the HTRUSA tour, but he had informed you that their flight left on the 30th, and that he wouldn’t be able to make it. Of course, you’d gotten to see him at the London show, and you loved seeing how excited he was- it made your heart swell. But it also made saying goodbye just that much harder.
“Earth to Y/N.” Oli’s voice broke through your thoughts.
“Sorry. I just don’t know Oli.”
“Y/N. The party is at your flat. You decorated the whole place and everything, you have to come!”
“I did that for all you guys, you know that. The only reason we wanted to have it at our place is because Joe has been dying to have a party there, and he’s not even going to be there.” You couldn’t keep the pout out of your voice, cluing Oli in.
“So that’s what this is about. We all miss him Y/N, but you know he would have wanted you to be there. Were your best friends, and I don’t want you to sit here alone all night and be sad. Please come.”
You hated Oli sometimes. He was just too damn sweet, you could never say no. “Alright fine, I’ll go. Give me like 25 minutes.”
It took you a while, but you were finally happy with your zombie makeup. It looked pretty good, if you did say so yourself. You slid on your black bralette and tattered shirt over some leggings before heading back out to meet Oli.
“See, I told you your costume would turn out great! You ready to go?” Oli asked. You nodded, trying to get yourself a little more excited as you headed out to grab an uber back to your place. The ride was short, and you were quite confused to see the lights on in your flat. You were the only one with a key.
“How are there people here already?” You questioned as Oli paid the uber.
“Ummm, Joe gave Jack a spare key before he left for tour.”
This was new knowledge to you, seeing that Jack was probably the last person out of the boys that you would want to have a key to your place, but you brushed it off, heading up to your flat.
You were quite surprised to see everyone there, in full costume.
“Y/N!!!” Jack called, running over and scooping you up into a hug. “You look great!”
“Says you! You look awesome man!” He really did- his Joker costume was quite detailed, and the green hair really worked for him. The rest of the boys noticed that you and Oli arrived, coming over to greet you. You made your rounds of hugs- actually, all the boys seemed quite eager, seeing that they were lined up in a row. Conor was dressed as Pablo, Josh as some woman you didn’t recognize, but Mikey’s Trump costume took the cake. It was only after you had stopped laughing at his impression that you heard another voice.
“Well, one of us is going to have to change.”
The boys moved out of the way, and sure enough, there stood Joe. He was also a zombie, but the grin on his face made him look anything but scary. You couldn’t even find the words, you just ran at him. He smiled at that, catching you when you jumped into his arms.
“Hi baby. Happy Halloween,” he whispered in your ear. You squeezed him tighter, breathing him in, so happy to have him back there with you again. The boys were clapping behind you when he finally put you down, and you were blushing underneath all your face paint.
“No one got that excited when I turned up,” Caspar whined from across the room.
“CASPAR!!!” Conor called, running and launching himself onto the boy- who was, of course, dressed as a piece of pizza. The two of them fell to the ground with a thud, causing everyone to erupt into laughter, making you happier than you ever thought you could have been that night.
