Pa amb tomaquet, the first sample I ever had of food from Catalonia.  A colleague of my father’s from Spain stayed with us for a few months when I was little and she made this simple tapas for us one night.

All it is toasted bread with tomato rubbed over it and olive oil on top.  Sometimes other things are put on it, too.

I also own two different shirts with this dish illustrated on it.  I’m trying to collect as many as possible!
