“Fear’s useless. Either something bad happens or it doesn’t: If it doesn’t, you’ve wasted time being afraid, and if it does, you’ve wasted time that you could have spent sharpening your weapons.”

Book Review: Team Human

Here’s what Kate says about Team Human by Justine Larbalestier and Sarah Rees Brennan:

Team Human asks what it would be like to experience an epic romance between human and vampire – from the outside. When Mel’s best friend Cathy falls suddenly, intensely in love with a vampire, Mel is completely freaked out, especially when Cathy announces her plans to become a vampire herself. Convinced that her best friend is making the worst mistake of her life, Mel will do anything she can to save her.

Team Human is a very funny book; happy to poke a bit of fun at the vampire romance genre which has taken the world by storm, but in the end is also a sweet story of friendship and growing up. Highly recommended for anyone who is a bit skeptical about the romantic appeal of vampires, as well as those who just can’t get enough of them.
