Bisexual actress Sara Ramirez, formerly of Grey’s Anatomy, tweeted her disapproval of a joke from a Jan. 17 episode of ABC’s comedy The Real O'Neals, the New York Daily News reported.
The joke, delivered by out gay character Kenny O'Neal, portrayed bisexuality in a negative light and compared it to having “webbed toes” or “money problems.”
Ramirez called on ABC to do better in its representation of bisexual identity and tweeted out a Change.org petition asking The Real O'Neals to rethink some of its biphobic storylines. Read more (2/17/17 11:06 AM)
She clocked 240 episodes on Grey’s Anatomy, making her the longest running queer character in television history. After she came out, 227 more lesbian and bisexual TV characters made their way into the world.
