In memory of John Surtees, CBE, who passed away today at the age of 83. Mr. Surtees had a long racing career with seven Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championships, one Formula One World Championship, and one Can-Am Cup championship won throughout 1952-1972. From 1970 he ran his own team, Surtees Racing Organisation, in Formula 5000, Formula 2 and Formula 1, taking the title in Formula 2 in 1972.

Even under the brightest sun, the frigid autumn sea is all the colors of the night: dark blue and black and brown. I watch the ever-changing patterns in the sand as it’s pummeled by countless hooves.

They run the horses on the beach, a pale road between the black water and the chalk cliffs. It is never safe, but it’s never so dangerous as today, race day.

tbh i think fishlegs knew what was up when he interrupted hiccstrid at the stairs to the great hall

i mean just look at his reaction, he genuinly didn’t expect that

and when hiccup and astrid quickly parted he understood that they didn’t want anyone to know (yet) so he pretended to think they were doing something entirely else

and then the suggestive “carry on, you two”

conclusion: fishlegs knew but being a good friend he gave his friends their space

honestly my favorite part of rupauls drag race is seeing queens who love themselves and are confident and positive succeeding. esp when theyre given shit for it or didnt start out loving themselves. like jinkx was given shit her entire season but she loved herself and performed so well because of it. and roxxxy and alyssa and katya learned to get past anger and fear and bullshit and learned to love themselves and their art (and their personalities) elevated so much as a result. everyone on drag race who learns to get past their own heads and just be positive about themselves are rewarded for it and its so affirming to watch.
