Here’s an ink I did today of a random character I made. I wanted stay pretty close to the original, but I made quite a few changes and errors. I’m still working on getting nice, smooth, consistent lines as well. The pose and style are heavily inspired and based on Owen Fitzgerald’s Bob Hope girls. I’ve been studying his work for a while now but I still have a long way to go.

Drawn on paper and inked in Krita, an awesome drawing program I just downloaded yesterday. Go get it! It’s free.

Edit: Here’s the inspiration.

As the “WHAT?” post has gotten almost 500 hits (which surprised the heck out of me) I thought I would put up the page were that was taken from.

It’s from Starlet O’Hara a comic draw by Owen Fitzgerald (Adventures of Bob Hope, The Fox & Crow, Supergoof & ghosting for Hank Ketchum on the Sunday Dennis the Menace strip.) for Standard Comics that ran for four issue from 1948 to `49 and detailed the adventures of roommates Starlet O'Hara and Fritzi, two would be actresses in Hollywood.
