overall this week was a win

I feel like you guys would like my Science class. We were sorted into our hogwarts houses after two weeks, and we’re seated by them. (I’m in Ravenclaw)

We have a house cup, but instead of honour, we compete for a pizza party at the end of the year.

We get points for winning competitions and WebQuests (challenges my teacher posts to his website), answering his daily question, and for our overall grades at the end of the year. We can lose points for infractions.

Currently, hufflepuff and ravenclaw are tied, gryffindor is in third, and slytherin is in last.

Anyway, just thought you guys might find it cool

anonymous asked:

i'm just curious. why som many weeks tho?

Other countries seem to think Eurovision is about having fun but we Swedes know that it’s about blood sweat and tears and nude shocks and the hosts singing better songs than the contestants and overall endurance like the Hunger Games.

And that’s why we keep winning Eurovision.

This is the first time in two years I’ve woken up to an election result and felt anything other than devastated.

(Okay, I’ll be fair: I had the feeling of “oh thank CHRIST maybe we’re coming back from the brink” when Macron beat Le Pen.)

Unsure if this feeling is giddy relief and excitement or just the fact I had two hours’ sleep. Stayed awake biting my nails until it became obvious the exit polls were right, between 4 and 5 am.

Okay. Okay. It’s a hung parliament. The Conservatives are technically the largest party, but they don’t have an overall majority - if all the other parties band together against them, they can be stopped. Why am I SO FUCKING HAPPY, even though technically the Conservatives won?

  • Labour were never going to win this. The Conservatives won 99 more seats in 2015. It was a landslide. Realistically, Labour could not expect to take 99 seats + 1 off them in eight weeks of campaigning. (I’d say two years, but most of those were implosions and infighting. The Labour Party has been pulling together as one for eight whole weeks.) The only three outcomes were 1) Tories maintain or increase their majority, 2) the Tories have a reduced but still functional majority, or 3) we drag them all the way back down to a hung parliament, coalition numbers, 2010 numbers. Barring actual divine intervention, this was the best case scenario. This is actually what winning looks like.

  • Until last night’s exit poll, this scenario looked nearly as unlikely as an outright win. All the polls said we were going for option 2. At the time the election was called, people thought it was option 1 and this would wipe out Labour as an opposition force. That was the whole point of May calling the election when she did. She had to jump through hoops to get it - we weren’t due until 2020.

  • This is the starkest the political choice has been in years, and people chose well. May explicitly laid out her nastiest policies, the hardest Brexit, and said “vote in fear, and give me a mandate to do my worst”. And the electorate said “no”. On the highest turnout since 1997. On the right, this was a referendum on how nasty the Conservatives could go. People were clearly given the evil choice and, within the constraints of my first point, they said no. They said the loudest no that was realistic.

  • Everything we’d been hearing from the ‘realistic’, ‘progressive’ left about Corbyn turned out to be crap. He’s unelectable? Labour have won more seats than they did in 2010 or 2015. Even die-hard Labour voters will stay home rather than vote for him? Turnout’s highest it’s been since 1997. On the left, this was a referendum on how progressive Labour could get and still be successful. It was the most explicitly left-wing manifesto they’ve had in decades. It’s twenty years since - the received wisdom goes - Blair won a Labour landslide by moving right (personally, I think the Tories were in such a terrible position early-to-mid-90s that the 1997 election could’ve been won by a pot of yoghurt and a Canada goose). The Labour gamble was “okay, all you people who’ve been saying there’s a lot of voters who find us too right-wing and demand real opposition to neo-liberalism: prove it. Find them.” We proved it. We found them.

  • Because the Conservatives demand top-down strong leadership in a way that Labour don’t, this will probably be the end of May’s prime ministerial career. She made it clear that the election was about whether the electorate backed her leadership of the country. Whoops. People may want to start counting for Galbraith’s Law purposes (anyone who says they won’t resign four times, definitely will). And I’m trying to be even-handed about this because women - particularly conventionally unattractive, ambitious women - get unfair personal criticism. But she is, personally, a nasty piece of work. She loves the deporting. She hates the human rights. She was a nasty piece of work when she was voting against queer rights, she was a nasty piece of work when she was Home Secretary (in charge of prisons and borders, for the non-UK folks), and she is - please, was - a nasty piece of work as Prime Minister. I don’t know who or what will replace her - please god not Boris - but let June be the end of May.

For the first time in twenty years, the Overton window has moved left. This is what hope feels like. And between this and the French result, maybe, just maybe, the sense that 2016 was the last excitable death throes of fascism, rather than the start of the slippery slope.

                  ~*~ENGINEERING VS. BIOCHEM~*~

Welcome, welcome to the official opening of the hiatus event of the ages!

We are excited to be hosting, and we hope you have a lot of fun during this super long hiatus. Before you get started, please read the following post carefully as there are things you need to know:

|| General:

  • We’ve prepared team blogs for each team: @teamengineering and @teambiochem. If you’re not following your team blog yet, make sure to be doing so. These blogs will provide many updates, motivational and organizational posts, chats and other fun team activities. You wouldn’t want to miss out!
  • Tagging:
    • The tag for this event is #engineering vs biochem! (Note the lack of a period in the [vs] in the tag!) Please use this tags to post your works, talk about the event, etc.
    • We also recommend you tag #thefitzsimmonsnetwork when posting works that you’d like reblogged by the network.
    • The team tags are #team engineering and #team biochem, but those tags aren’t required in the first 5 tags! If you don’t fit it in the top 5, please do include it as the 6th so that your leaders can reblog your works correctly.

|| Points:

    • It has all the point breakdowns with FAQ and examples
    • It’s linked on your spreadsheets and team blogs
    • All the point information is in there :)
    • But, if something still isn’t clear or you have questions, please always feel free to message the network
  • The spreadsheet covers how points are earned for fanworks you create during the course of this event.
  • While it doesn’t touch on it as much, there will be plenty of opportunities to earn points by voting, and participating in hosted activities that will not be fanwork based. (And some are listed there!)
  • There will be plenty of activities and challenges during the hiatus to keep you busy and inspired to create things. Some challenges won’t be EvB exclusive, but you will earn bonus points for just participating in those, on top of the points you’d earn for the fanworks created.
  • The team with the most points at the end of the event will be the winner!
  • It is possible to individually win as well —there will be categories for top point earners (overall and from each team).

|| Spreadsheets:

  • You should have all received an invitation to your team spreadsheet. This is extremely important and will be used to track your points during the entire event, so please make sure you have checked out everything on it and understand how to input the information.
  • Here are the Team Biochem and Team Engineering spreadsheets
  • Sheet 1: This is where YOU keep track of your points. Each number corresponds to a different week, and each letter corresponds to a different challenge (check out Sheet 3 on a breakdown of the weeks).
    • Every time you create a fanwork, please record the points into the sheet immediately. It will be easiest to keep up that way.
    • In certain situations, like challenges, you will not be able to record your points. Never fear—we will record them for you once the challenge is over and your points have been determined
    • Everything is set to a formula, so all you have to do is enter your total, and the numbers will update themselves :)
    • The horizontal sums will indicate YOUR personal score total, and the vertical sums let you know how your team is doing each week.
  • Sheet 2: This is where you will put you fanwork links for verification.
    • Each cell is clipped, so just put in your links (to each fanwork or supporting post) separated by commas.
    • This is so that we can check to make sure points are being calculated accurately and also clear up any issues, if you’re unsure of how many points you’ve earned!
  • Sheet 3: This page just is a organization page to help you! It contains reminders of what column corresponds to what! This page will be updated by the mods and team leaders consistently to add organizational information to help you navigate everything that is going on.

Thanks for making it through to the end of the post :) Feel free to send any comments, questions or concerns you may have. There’s a lot to take in, but we’re here to answer your questions. We hope you guys have a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing what wonderful things you will create!

So, with that in mind…

                     Team Engineering vs. Team Biochem
who will reign victorious at the end?

On this day in music history: March 13, 1999 - “Believe” by Cher hits #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 4 weeks, also topping the Club Play chart for 4 weeks on December 12, 1998. Written by Brian Higgins, Stuart McLennen, Paul Barry, Steven Torch, Matthew Gray and Timothy Powell, it is the fourth solo chart topping single (fifth overall) for the pop music icon and Academy Award winning actress. After focusing on her film career for much of the 90’s, Cher turns her attention back music when she signs to the UK division of Warner Bros Records in 1998. Working with dance music producers including Junior Vasquez, Todd Terry, Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling, it will be the singer’s first dance oriented album in nearly twenty years since the release of her Casablanca albums “Take Me Home” and “Prisoner”. Rather than going for the retro-disco sounds of those works, the new material is cutting edge and in step with the current techno dance phenomenon dominating the club music scene. British songwriter and producers Taylor and Rawling (Gina G, Danni Minogue), presents Cher with the song “Believe”. She asks them to re-write the lyrics a number of times before agreeing to record the song. After recording Cher’s vocals, the producers hit upon the idea of processing some of the vocals with a Digitech Talker (aka “Autotune” processor). At first, they are nervous to play the track with the altered vocals, but once Cher hears what they’ve done, she immediately loves it. Warner Bros initially does not like the autotuned vocals and wants the effect removed, but the singer insists they remain as they are. “Believe” is an immediate smash in the UK, spending seven weeks at number one. Warner Bros in the US picks up the record for release on the back of its UK chart success. Entering the Hot 100 at #99 on December 20, 1998, it climbs to the top of the chart twelve weeks later. Cher makes history by having the longest time span between her first number one single (“I Got You Babe”) and “Believe”, which is thirty three years, seven months and three weeks. She also becomes the second oldest artist in Billboard chart history to top the Hot 100 (Louis Armstrong is the record holder at sixty two years, ten months and one week old at the time “Hello Dolly” is at number one), as she is fifty three years, nine months and three weeks old at the time “Believe” tops the chart. The single is also a massive worldwide hit, topping the charts in twenty three countries. “Believe”  wins Cher her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2000, also receiving a nomination for Record Of The Year. “Believe” is certified Platinum in the US by the RIAA.

me last week: taylor swift? i don’t know who that is

me this week: Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. One of the most popular contemporary female recording artists, she is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which has received much media attention.Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at age 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest artist ever signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. Her eponymous debut album in 2006 peaked at number five on Billboard 200 and spent the most weeks on the chart in the 2000s. The album’s third single, “Our Song”, made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart. Swift’s second album, Fearless, was released in 2008. Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me”, Fearless became the best-selling album of 2009 in the United States. The album won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest Album of the Year winner. Swift was the sole writer of her 2010 album, Speak Now. It debuted at number one in the United States and the single “Mean” won two Grammy Awards. Her fourth album, Red (2012), yielded the successful singles “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble”. With her fifth album, the pop-focused 1989 (2014), she became the first act to have three albums sell a million copies within one week in the United States. Its singles “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood” reached number one in the US, Australia, and Canada. The album received three Grammy Awards, and Swift became the first woman and fifth act overall to win Album of the Year twice. The 2015 eponymous concert tour for 1989 became one of highest-grossing of the decade. As a songwriter, Swift has received awards from the Nashville Songwriters Association and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She is also the recipient of ten Grammy Awards, five Guinness World Records, one Emmy Award, 23 Billboard Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, and one Brit Award. Swift is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 40 million albums—including 27.1 million in the US—and 130 million single downloads. She has appeared in Time’s 100 most influential people in the world (2010 and 2015), Forbes’ top-earning women in music (2011–2015), Forbes’ 100 most powerful women (2015), and Forbes Celebrity 100 (2016). She was the youngest woman to be included in the third of these and ranked first in Celebrity 100-

FFS. Reptile forums and facebook groups

Yeah. Posted Bob various places because I’m pleased with her progress. bp.net I made disclaimer stating that I know Bob is not a rescue, that the store didn’t even realise she was in that terrible condition and they were just going to get another snake to replace her when she died so while I’m technically enabling, I was also able to improve the husbandry at that store. So overall it’s a win because the bps are slightly better taken care of, and Bob is alive. So I get one poster harping that my buying her and saving her has magically killed dozens of other snakes and that I’m enabling the entire chain or something and I’m like, yes. I admitted I bought her and that it wasn’t the best idea but I couldn’t let her die because I had a bad week at work with too much death, and I actually did some good. And person comes back again saying I’m killing future ball pythons by purchasing Bob.

And then on the facebook group someone is trying to get me to feed Bob prey items that are 25 to 30% of her body weight! Nope, sorry, gonna stick with the weanlings until she’s closer to 100 grams because I know that if you rush a starving animal you can kill them and slow, steady weight gain is not going to be detrimental to her.  I’ll try her on rat pups when she’s bigger.

But what gets me was his phrasing.

“ Should be feeding rat pups… Wean mice arent going to add weight “

And yet… Bob has gained 30 grams in two months? She’s close to doubling her initial weight? But the mice aren’t going to add weight somehow… magically… or something.

Snake communities are full of such bullshit.

Healthy Habits Challenge

(Starting Monday February 13th so please reblog to get awareness out)

The lovely @kc-drops-weight and I are starting an accountability challenge. This is also either of ours first time monitoring a challenge so please be patient with us as we bumble along together.

Anyone is welcome to join the party at any time. The purpose of this challenge is to establish the practice of healthy habits and to be accountable to yourself and others in our respective health journeys. This will be going on for 7 weeks, through the end of March. So here’s how it works.

  • The first week you have to choose between 1-3 goals to work on this week. They can be whatever you want. Drink 100oz of water every day, write in your journal, take your meds, work out 4x a week.
  • Make a fitchart however you want detailing what goals you want to focus on.
  • At the end of the week if you have an overall success rate of 80% you win!!!
  • If you have an 80+% success rate you get to add one more goal for the following week.
    • For example: My goals this week are Drink 100oz of Water, No Sugar, and Attend Class. If I’m 80% successful with those this week, next week, I’ll add in Weight lift 4x and ect.
  • If at the end of the week, you have an 80% success rate regardless of how many goals you have, you win!!!
  • This cycle will continue for seven weeks until the challenge is over.

So. How do you join this totally awesome challenge?

  1. Between now and Monday, decide your goals and make your fitchart. Just focus on one week at a time, what are 1-3 things you want to focus on this week. Write them down.
  2. By Monday make a post introducing yourself. Detail what your healthy habits are and what you are planning on doing to set yourself up for success.
  3. Try to find an accountability partner, Krista and I well also be here and checking in as much as we can, but it’s so helpful to have someone who has your back.
  4. At the end of every week, on Sunday night you have to post a picture of your fitchart and answer some questions about how your week went. Your post also has to include what goal you will be adding for the following week.
  5. If you don’t reach 80%, that’s fine, life is busy. Take a deep breath. And focus on your same goals again the following week.

The tag for this will be #HealthyHabitsChallenge which both Krista and I will be tracking, and you can also use this to find your accountability partners. Also, anything Krista or I post about this challenge will also be tagged #HealthyHabitsChallengeAdmin

It’s pretty lax, but let’s do this. Let’s keep growing and changing and working on our healthy habits!! Can’t wait to see how this goes with everyone!!!

Rachel’s Rambles - 5x12 Bratva

I really, really loved tonight’s episode. It made me truly excited for the rest of the season. There were so many great character moments. And it also left me with a bunch of feelings I need to ramble about so….venture behind the cut if you dare. ;)

NWSL week 7 fan award voting

Estimated by counting tweets that use the official hashtags and produce Twitter’s voting widget. Some repeat votes might be counted in this estimate, while some votes might be omitted if Twitter fails to publicly list them.

Week 7 Save of the Week (as of end of voting on May 30)

Colaprico: 720 (42.58%)
Sheridan: 529 (31.28%)
Kopmeyer: 273 (16.14%)
Labbe: 169 (9.99%)

Total votes: 1,691

  • SotW turnout is considerably higher not only than Week 6′s (1,201) but any week’s (1,397 on week 2, also the last time a non-GK won the award).
  • Sheridan gained some ground overnight, but not much. Colaprico becomes the 2nd Chicago SotW winner in 3 weeks (Naeher, 2017 week 5) and their 3rd overall.
  • Colaprico ends polling with more votes than any 2017 Save of the Week nominee (was 696, week 4, for Ashlyn Harris).
  • Sheridan’s 529 votes would have been enough to win in weeks 2, 3, 5, or 6–in other words, any week Harris wasn’t nominated.
  • None of the nominated players had won Save of the Week before.
  • No player for Sky Blue FC (18 nominations) or the Washington Spirit (15 nominations) has ever won Save of the Week.
  • This is Kopmeyer’s 10th nomination without a win, the most in the league, and Labbe’s 8th without a win. While it’s early to call a winner, I’m confident neither Kop nor Labbe will overcome their 330+ vote deficits.
  • A Chicago player has been nominated for Save of the Week a league-leading 22 times.
  • The Reign pass FCKC and Boston with their 17th Save of the Week nomination, placing them 4th overall behind Sky Blue and Portland (18) and Chicago.
  • Sheridan’s nomination is her first, and the first of the year for Sky Blue FC, ending the longest SotW nomination drought in league history (6).
  • Colaprico’s nomination is the 8th for a midfielder, and her 2nd (2016 week 4). She joins teammate Vanessa DiBernardo as the only non-GKs to be nominated multiple times, something no defender has accomplished.
  • To put that last point another way: Becky Sauerbrunn, a defender, has won Goal of the Week twice (counting this week) but has never been nominated for Save of the Week. DiBernardo and Colaprico, both midfielders, each scored goals in the Red Stars’s week 7 match, and each of them have been nominated for Save of the Week twice, more times than any individual defender in the league.
  • Labbe marks the latest instance of a player on a team that started or finished the week in last-place getting nominated for a weekly award. The rest have been Orlando Pride players.

Week 7 Goal of the Week (as of end of voting on May 30)

Sauerbrunn: 1,578 (60.83%)
Debinha: 368 (14.19%)
Johnson: 360 (13.88%)
DiBernardo: 288 (11.10%)

Total votes: 2,594

  • GotW turnout easily beat last week’s (1,776). Sauerbrunn’s votes have passed Rachel Daly’s week 1 golazo, and her votes alone are likely to overtake all weeks’ total Goal of the Week turnout except weeks 1 and 6.
  • Easily called for Sauerbrunn. With about 6 hours of ballots in the box, Sauerbrunn led by 810 votes and with nearly 2/3 of the total vote. While that lead shrank overnight, most of the gains were by third-place Debinha; Sauerbrunn’s percentage dropped, but her vote lead increased to 1,168 and ended at 1,210. This is Sauerbrunn’s 2nd Goal of the Week award (2016 week 9).
  • Sauerbrunn is the only player to be nominated for Goal of the Week multiple times and win each nomination.
  • Sauerbrunn is the 4th player to win Goal of the Week multiple times, joining Alex Morgan (2), Rachel Daly (3), and Christen Press (5). I bolded this because it blows my little pea-brain mind.
  • Defenders have won Goal of the Week 5 times (19.23%). Sauerbrunn accounts for 2 of those; the others are Camila (2017 week 3), Ali Krieger (2016 week 2), and Steph Catley (2016 week 1).
  • These are the first nominations for Katie Johnson and Vanessa DiBernardo, and the second nominations for Sauerbrunn and Debinha.
  • Katie Johnson is the third rookie nominated this season, after Danica Evans (2017 week 2) and Rose Lavelle (2017 weeks 3 and 5). Evans is the only rookie to win this season, and was the first and only rookie to win Goal of the Week.
  • Johnson is the second player with a Mexico WNT cap to be nominated in a row for Goal of the Week, after Sofia Huerta’s nomination (and win) last week.
  • This is the 2nd time a FC Kansas City player has won Goal of the Week in 13 nominations (2nd-fewest nominations overall). Both wins were Sauerbrunn’s.
  • A Flash/Courage player has been nominated for Goal of the Week 20 times overall and 5 times this season, both more than any other team. No Flash/Courage player has ever won Goal of the Week.
  • Only 1 Reign FC player has won Goal of the Week (Jess Fishlock, 2017 week 4) in 17 nominations (5.88% win rate, worse than any team but Sky Blue FC’s 5.56%, and the Flash/Courage’s and Boston’s 0%).
  • Reign FC and Chicago (17) are now tied for 4th-most nominations, passing the Pride and Thorns FC (16).

ON WITH THE PERFORMANCES! (performances & info here)

Summary: Okay so we continue with the performances but lemme tell you now, if you’re trying to see Daehwi’s “AVENGERS”, THEY’RE AT THE VERY END! So y’all gonna have to sit through 1.5 hours of crying, dancing, and voice cracking. At least they let us finish the performances this week though! Some surprises on who won overall & where the trainees were ranked BASED ON THE IN STUDIO PERFORMANCE VOTES. Jump to the end for those spoilers!

P.S. missing a few screenshots of names/results because I got distracted by the hype hahaha *these screenshots are straight from the live broadcast streams*

First this episode, we have the REPLAY groups! Team 1: 누나야 나 Noona, Me! vs. Team 2: 누나 일루왕 Noona Come Here

TEAM 1: 누나야 나 Noona, Me! TAKES THE WIN!

TEAM 1: 프로틴 ProTeen (Protein?? lol)

TEAM 2: 막판 뒤집기 (Last Minute Turn Around)

I personally did not enjoy these stages as much but that’s just because I am a picky Seventeen fan and it felt weird to me? They weren’t bad though, they did pretty well in fact. I think it is a lot of work to take on a Seventeen song so those that do it well, tend to shine.

👀 👀 👀

Next we have SORRY SORRY with TEAM 1: 슈퍼 마리오 SUPER MARIO (lol)

& the so-hyped-on-the-interwebs as the “Justice League” (cause Daehwi’s “Avengers”) MINHYUN’S TEAM! aka TEAM 2: 이번 열차는 미안행 All Aboard The Sorry Train (lolol these names)

*noob translator note: “미안행” has a double meaning. “미안행” is a cutesy way of saying “I’m sorry” but also, it is literally 미안 (Sorry) 행 (Train) HAHAHA genius. It’s not directly “All Aboard” but I figured that would make more sense! If you’re curious, it’s literally “This Train is the Sorry Train” lol*

choo choo shot because they’re my faves

I was a little disappointed because I was so hype for Minhyun and they only showed him like 5 secs D: MINHYUN YOU’RE WORTH 10 MINUTES OF AIRTIME IN MY HEART!

Jaehwan, your vocals were so gooood bruh. TEAM 2 (SORRY TRAIN) WINS

EVERY DAY I SHOOK SHOOK… #misheardlyrics STILL GOOD THOUGH! Was I snoozing or did Mnet not even give the BEAST teams intro stage airtime…??? I think my stream was frozen during that part oops

TEAM 1: First

TEAM 2 (best shot I got, the rest were too… shook shook lol /sorry): 24.5

I’ve been waiting for them to give Jinhyung proper airtime, ugh. The vocal trainer was even like “hey you’re pretty good” and yet there he sits, at 75….. He rose up from D to B y’all! KEEP RISING SON!!!!

TEAM 2 TAKES THE WIN! lmao every day he shook, every day he shook shook

The Infinite groups!

TEAM 1: BCFII (Yehyun what is that face haha)

TEAM 2: 니꺼하면 안돼? CAN’T I BE YOURS?

OKAY THIS IS WHERE I NEEDA STAND UP. because our boy Yehyun barely can, literally, kiddo hurt his ankle. AND YET THERE HE IS, NOT CRYING, NOT WHINING, DANCING (how even tho), HELPING OTHERS LIKE HIS GOOD SELF AND TRYING HIS BEST EVEN THOUGH HE’S SO CRIPPLE HE NEEDS A CRUTCH TO MAKE IT UP TO THE STAGE AND HIS ANKLE PROBABLY HURTS LIKE CRAZY. excuse my caps but, this child is ADMIRABLE! He did not give up and even apologized for “lacking” in skill because of his injury. Please support him fam!!! HE DESERVES MORE LOVE! #StanAnkleBoy2017

TEAM 2 ENDS UP WINNING THOUGH… (missed this screenshot) it’s these kids

And finally… the showdown of Daehwi’s Avengers (꽃보다 상남자) vs. Baekho and co (The 상남자)

*nt note: 상남자 can be translated as tough guy or manly man or real man, but it basically means a “man among men” that is really masculine/manly (did u count how many times I said maaannn man haha)*

TEAM 1! aka the popular crew hand picked by Daehwee-der, 꽃보다 상남자 Tough Guys Over Flowers

We spend like 5 minutes sobbing over whether or not Jihoon is gonna hit those high notes but… no surprise, kiddo pulls through. HE’S GOT MORE THAN A WINK OF TALENT, AYE? /imsorryhaha

Gunmin deserves some time for his high notes too though!

TEAM 2: The 상남자 The Tough Guys

Team 2 puts up a good fight but it’s still a DAE-HWIN after all for Team 1. Lai Guanlin beasts Samuel in voting though, interesting.

Boa brings them back to that shady studio again and the results of the IN STUDIO PERFORMANCE VOTING (separate from the ONGOING rankings which are SHOWN WEEKLY, these rankings are just the results of how the studio audience ONLY voted).

Some fan faves ended up being ranked much lower than their normal ongoing ranks so there were many surprises.

Probably the most surprised was Woodam, who came in at #1, with the most in studio votes from the performances. manse manse manse woo-dam-dam

Thanks for sticking through this week’s recap again. Tune in next week for hopefully less crying and more dancing? I don’t like seeing the boys so sad :(

Noob translator epilogue: I watch every episode LIVE and try my best to translate what goes down so you guys can know ASAP after the show. I’m not a professional translator but I tried to pick wording that would be English-user-friendly! Especially with the team names, there are discrepancies, but I tried my best. Feel free to ask or add more input if you would like to :)

PokéSpe Week Day 3: Arc

Diamond and Pearl Arc

This Arc is my overall favourite.

It introduces my favourite Trio of Pokédex Holders:

This trio pretty much act as a 3 in 1 main character, in older Arcs only one character was considered the central character (even the Ruby and Sapphire Chapter had more of a focus on Ruby than Sapphire).

The Chapter starts with a mix up between Dia and Pearl’s Prize for winning a Comedy Contest and Professor Rowan’s Letter for Lady Platinum Berlitz’s Bodyguards.

This ends up with Pearl and Diamond becoming Platinums bodyguards in a journey to the peak of Mt. Coronet.

The trio go on a journey throughout the Sinnoh region, with Platinum wanting try out everything she sees and Pearl and Diamond protecting her, but then their journey got interrupted by the evil plots of Team Galactic.

I can’t wait until I get to this Chapter after I finish FRLG and Emerald.

What I have to do to be skinny? Help me

First, eat healthy. Make sure you’re getting the right foods, lots of protein and nutrient rich foods like veggies and fruit. Try to cut down on processed stuff and extra sugars/sweets, but don’t forget to treat yourself sometimes, you deserve it! ❤ Make sure you’re getting enough to eat.

Second, get enough water! So many people aren’t drinking enough and water is AMAZING. I think the recommend amount is at least 64 oz of water a day (or 8- 8oz glasses, referred to as the 8x8 rule).

Third, get enough sleep! This one is SUPER important because getting enough sleep helps with your metabolism, and for me it gives me the energy to resist the sugar cravings I get if I’m too tired. The average person needs between 6-9 hours a night depending on variables like your age and such. I find I function best on closer to nine hours of sleep with the occasional six hour day thrown in, but that’s just me, I know a lot of people that drag if they have more than 6 hours a night because it’s just too much for them. Find out what works best for you!

Fourth, get up and get moving! Even if it’s just little things like going for a walk after dinner, getting your heart rate up 30-40 minutes 3-5 times a week is GREAT for your overall health AND boosts mood (win-win!). You don’t have to join a gym or do anything fancy, just find something you like. There are a lot of fantastic videos on YouTube for beginners for things like yoga and even kickboxing! (This is also why step three is important, having enough rest to sustain you through your day is vital, trust me. I didn’t get enough sleep for weeks and felt like I was dying when it all caught up to me.)

Fifth, (probably this one should be first, actually, but I’m too lazy to go back and reorder them) talk to a doctor and/or nutritionist about what is right for you and your body instead of taking advice from random strangers on the Internet 😊❤

Stay safe, have fun, and remember above all else to love yourself!

❖ B.O.Y (Because of You) (Season 2)

Chapter 13: Here We Go Again…

Noticing her despair, Namjoon decided to take this moment to up the ante.

“Yo Toni. Tell you what, if you win, then I will bow at your feet and openly admit that you are indeed smarter than me. If I win, then you have to go on a coffee and bookstore date. Deal?” He stated, sweetening the bet.

Toni scoffed, “Why on Earth would I agree to that? Are you scared that I’m going to win, huh Namjoon boy?” She taunted as the answer slowly crept back into her mind.

Namjoon smirked in response, “Yes or no?”

“Fine.” Toni agreed, not knowing what was going to happen next.

“Good.” Namjoon said, hitting his buzzer swiftly, beating Toni to the punch. “See you tomorrow at noon then,” He began, sending a playful yet flirtatious wink at Toni, “The answer is natural selection.” He finished, answering the question and overall winning their little academic decathlon.

Toni couldn’t help but feel tricked as she continued to gawk at Namjoon.

“What just happened???” Toni asked her sorority sisters, refusing to believe that she has a date with Namjoon tomorrow.

“You just lost and now have to go on a date with Namjoon over there.”

           “That’s what I thought…. Shit…”

It has been weeks since their infamous academic and for the most part, everything is alright in the world. Toni had finally held up her end of the bet and went out on that date with Namjoon. To her surprise, he was actually a hidden romantic. That coffee and bookstore date was just a disguise for the actual date that Namjoon had planned in his devious mind. The real date consisted of a trip to the beach, and a simple yet romantic picnic was spread out for the two. It was definitely the night to remember. All this time Toni had thought Namjoon had been jealous of her and hated her guts because she was basically his equal in terms of intellect but that wasn’t the case. Namjoon had actually fallen for the woman but didn’t know how to express his feelings. Even though both the ladies and his “brothers” all joked around saying that he was the biggest player in the house, he was quite the opposite. He was more socially awkward and never had girlfriend in his life. Just like the guys, before they met the love of their lives, he was more of a “one and done” type of guy…until he met Toni. The day she actually agreed to the terms of the bet, he was over the moon. Never in his lifetime would he think that Toni would even agree to it in the first place. She had a moment lapse in judgement and that worked in his favor.

Now, it was nearing the end of the school year and that meant it was almost time for the dreaded finals week. Most of the “couples” were too busy studying for their exams and finishing up any end-of-the-semester assignments, like essays or group projects, that they rarely saw the person of their affection. While the average person would worry that his or her crush would start to lose interest in him or her, that wasn’t the case for these lads and lassies. Why? Well, that’s because they had something else on their plate and that was the infamous game of “who’s to blame?”. The game came into effect because one girl’s accidental advice, which caused all the dominoes to fall one right after the other. Let’s elaborate, shall we?

The stage win Landa worked so hard for - Congrats❗️ 🚴💨⚒ Go @teamsky ‼️👉“Possibly this is my nicest win because it took a lot of effort to stay at the front knowing that the chasers were coming from behind. We lost a friend [Michele Scarponi] just before the Giro so I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to pay tribute to him when I crossed the finishing line. My overall standing in the General Classification doesn’t correspond to what I was hoping for at the Giro but after the crash [on stage 9], I stayed calm and I tried hard to win a stage. My last week of racing confirms that I can try to win a Grand Tour.” Words @giroditalia and 🎥 via @cyclinghistory 💗

Life Update

I need to be more consistent about posting but I’m the least consistent person ever so it makes sense lol. Also why I am taking so long to lose weight 🙄

Anyway, I am still pretty good about avoiding sugar but not perfect, like yesterday my friend made us virgin piña coladas and I couldn’t resist. And I had a little granola in my Greek yogurt this morning. So I’m not as perfect as I was and I need to clean it up a bit, but overall I’m eating MUCH less sugar so that’s a win.

We are leaving tomorrow to go on a trip to Northern California which is where both my husband’s and my family are from, and we have a jam packed two week visit. We will stay with his brother in Lodi for a couple days, then head over to Sonoma County where both of our parents’ and his sister live, and stay there for about a week and visit, then the next Monday we will spend five days on a houseboat on Lake Shasta (without kids!! I don’t know how I feel about it) with jet skis and my brother’s fancy boat. I’m excited to try wake surfing.

Also this is the first month that Ryan and I stopped using protection so I may or may not start my period right before the houseboat trip?? Haha for the sake of enjoying myself and not worrying about having to wear tampons the whole time I almost am hoping for a pregnancy! 😂😂

I am holding steady at around 180 lbs, which is kind of sad considering I was hoping to be a lot less by this time but hey? I like my body shape right now, just working toward it being a smaller shape haha.

Joining the gym has been so great, I forgot how much confidence strength training gives me. I really missed being in a gym and lifting weights. I’ve missed the past two days but I’m going in today! Planning on core and shoulders 💪

That’s about it I’ll try to take pictures of my trip and post as I go!
