ove glove

Hey! I noticed that you talk about baking and cooking sometimes (your scones look flawless btw!) and I was wondering if you could recommend any particularly cool adaptive or helpful kitchen tools for someone with very weak arms and poor coordination??

hi! thank you! i do have some tips because i am also very weak with poor coordination !

My kitchen is fairly inaccessible, so I basically made a second kitchen outside of it. Here I have a toaster oven and a hot plate and a tiny rice cooker and a magic bullet, basically all with super easy buttons/knobs (i have trouble with the magic bullet but i can use it if i’m feeling particularly strong) and mobile with some help to move them into the most convenient locations.

On the other end of that setup, I have a spinning rack with all my utensils, measuring cups, etc. and i hung up the cutting boards and pot holders for easy access. i have an ove glove (from the infomercials) which is great for holding hot stuff and also opening jars because it’s rubbery!

for my sink, i gorilla taped (duct tape but waterproof) these cheap plastic pipe hangers from home depot to the handles to make them longer and easier to pull! i also took the cabinet doors off from under the sink to make it so i could pull under.

lastly, here are some of my favorite tools (can for scale). i love tiny kitchenware like the tongs, spatula, and frying pan. the green thing is for gripping hot stuff which is great, and the thing on top is a jar opener that i think i’ve posted about before and will reblog!

hope this helps !
