outline presentation

|4 september 2017|

it’s finally back to school time for most of us and, at least for me, it’s also time to start good habits, crack down on the bad ones, and just begin to prepare for the year ahead. i’ve been in school for a couple of weeks now and, so far, i’m doing pretty good. below, i’ve compiled some simple tips that help me in day to day life that i would love to share. so let’s get cracking:

  1. prepare outfits and pack your backpack on sunday instead of in the morning. i know for a fact you have more time on sunday to prepare your outfits and pack your backpack than on monday morning so planning in advance will most definitely benefit you. instead of running around in circles trying to find that shirt, hang them up in the front of your closet or place them in the top of a drawer on sunday. and instead of throwing random pens in a bag, pack your backpack and put it in front of your door. it’ll save you time to do other things such as eating and washing your face.
  2. prepare and eat a breakfast. whether it’s some cherrios in a bag on the way to class or eggs and bacon cooked that morning, eating will definitely benefit you. you’ll have more focus in class and it’ll get your metabolism going. if it’s easier for you, think about preparing your food the night before and packing it in bags or tupperware.
  3. have a tray by the door to put small things in. oh, how many times have i forgotten my earbuds or keys. keep yourself organized and not calling your roommate to get an extra set of keys by just having a tray on which you can put smaller things you don’t put in your backpack. then, just grab them before you leave and voilà! you aren’t locked out.
  4. on sunday, do your meal preps, weekly spread, and clean your room and workspace. i am such a procrastinator during the weekends and there have been so many days that because of that, i am trudging through knee high messes in my room because i just won’t pick up. i also commonly forget to plan the week and prep my meals and then boom, it’s monday and i’m a mess. so don’t be a mess like me, do it all on sunday.
  5. have a letter tray to put class handouts and old assessments so you can put them in binders later. using a letter tray to collect handouts and assessments can be so beneficial to keeping your desk clean. and without it, i tend to throw out old graded assessments i could study instead of putting them in binders. keeping all those papers in one binder is super helpful, so put them in a binder and finals won’t be your doom.
  6. have a bedtime routine. having a bedtime routine can increase your productivity and sleep time because, one, it can help you stay organized and, two, it helps put you to sleep. the more your brain associates doing certain tasks with sleep, the faster you’ll be able to drift off. so be smart and enjoy an extra hour of sleep.
  7. have one journal for in class notes and one to retake and organize your notes at home. in class you do not have time to keep your thoughts organized. with tangents from your teachers and questionable notes, its best to just use a pencil, pen, and highlighter to make scratch notes in class and then come home and organize it into something that you can study from. this idea has kept me afloat time and time again.
  8. talk to your teachers. do yourself a favor, ask and answer questions in class and go to your teachers’ office hours if they have them. if you do this, your teachers are more likely to recognize you and will be more lenient with your grade (since it shows you’re engaged and involved). you don’t necessarily need to like the teacher, just pretend you care. smile and nod along as you ask about their lives, questions about the content, and for advice that you are never going to take. this is a pretty slytherin thing i’ve been doing for years and it has got me so many half points back, especially in math and science.
  9. use quizzes and tests to study for finals. as i stated earlier, it’s important to save your assessments to study, and that is especially true during finals. teachers commonly use similar questions on the final as unit tests and quizzes. think of how many more points you can score on that final if you just study your tests.
  10. make a study group. find friends and people in your classes that you would like to study with and meet up! they’ll definitely be able to help you understand topics and it’ll be more fun than holing yourself up in your room. also, explaining concepts to others will help you better understand them and answer those questions on your tests.
  11. make a weekly to-do list. some of you may already do this in your weekly spreads, but it’s important to make to-do lists of goals and tasks you need to complete. this isn’t necessarily studying and notes but things such as cleaning your room, watering your plants, or going grocery shopping. make lists, organize yourself, don’t be a mess like me.
  12. reward yourself for doing well. whether it’s talking to your teacher or scoring straight a’s, we all work hard. so why not treat yourself to a nice dinner or relaxing bath? have fun, relax, and don’t let yourself get too stressed. remember to unwind.
  13. sit up front in class. i know, i know, you don’t really want to, but think about it. if you’re up front, you are going to be 100% more engaged and paying more attention. and this will make your teacher remember you, which you now know the benefits of. you will also be able to see the board easier, get your questions answered, and hear what is going on.
  14. talk to the people around you in your classes. jeremy from physics sneezes on you and suddenly, you’ve got the flu and can’t make it to your lit lecture. what are you going to do? text that new friend you made from lit that sits next to in the lecture hall of course. simply talking to people on your first day can help you stay on top of class in case you miss or can help you study before the test. never doubt the benefits of knowing people.
  15. if there’s an opportunity for extra credit, take it. i don’t care how good you are in that class or how perfect your grades are, take the extra credit. those few extra points could be the ones that take you from a b to an a. just do it and don’t question it, you may need them.
  16. outline all papers and presentations. you have a draft due for your class in a few hours and you open you computer and prepare to type. but where to begin? what are you writing? how do you want to phrase it? well, you could already know that if you had outlined it. take the time to research, write a thesis, and fully understand your prompt before you write. especially if this is a persuasive essay. do this as well for presentations and visual assignments so you say every fact and point you want to.
  17. keep your test dates by you at all times. no matter who you are, you need to know when tests are coming up. and, as someone who tends to leave things at home sometimes, i may not have my planner with those tests dates next to me when i need them. but what do i have? my phone. i use the app My Study Life to keep track of those dates. i explain that beautiful app in this post.
  18. have a ‘school survival kit.’ by now i think you’ve caught on to the fact i can be a bit forgetful. so i like to have a little bag with me that has things i may need that i could have forgotten. this includes a pen, pencil, highlighter, a few pads, some mints, pain medicine, allergy medicine, tissues, band-aids, hand sanitizer, tide-to-go (stain remover), and other such items. i may make a list of these items at another time.
  19. if you have a question, ask. i’ve already gone over the benefits of talking in class but it’s also extremely important to understand your content. it’s better to ask than not know, even if you think the question is dumb. there’s a good chance someone else has that exact question. it’s also better to look stupid than have that count against you during assessments.
  20. if your university, college, or high school has a writing center, use it. i work in a writing center and we are here to help. we do nothing so much of the time and you coming in makes our day. contrary to the popular opinion, we aren’t going to judge your writing or insult you (unless you ask for it). but we also aren’t going to correct your entire paper, we want to help you learn how to edit your papers and make sure you’re fitting the requirements. and this goes for all tutoring centers; if they’re an option, use them.

17.05.2017 - This is what I (try to) wake up to every day: spread out mildliners, my bullet journal open on my desk and my adorable calendar. My dorms room might be shitty and small, but I fill it with colour! Today I’ll outline a presentation on traditional fairytales, go grocery shopping and check my homework for tomorrow again.

Okay but Ace and Sabo sneaking onto the Sunny in the dark because “I told you we’d be late” “shut up, it’s your fault” “shhh” and falling asleep on the deck. The crew wakes up to these two weirdos sleeping on their lawn but then Luffy comes out, still half asleep, and just kinda flops on them and goes back to sleep. The two don’t wake up but still manage to settle Luffy in and the crew freaks out because stranger cuddle pile and then the blonde one mutters “happy birthday luff,” and the crew freaks out harder because why didn’t we know that???

Lol, but Ace being all, “I brought you a present!” And Sabo sitting there all eye-rolling going, “It’s me, I’m the present,” and Luffy legit believing Ace somehow brought back Sabo just for his birthday present.

He would believe it, and even after they explained, he’d forget and instead believe Ace could just do that. Big brothers, you know? So after Ace dies, he waits so hard for his birthday because maybe, just maybe, Sabo can do it too?

Note Taking Systems

The Cornell Method

The Cornell method provides a systematic format for condensing and organizing notes without laborious recopying. After writing the notes in the main space, use the left-hand space to label each idea and detail with a key word or “cue.”

Rule your paper with a 2 ½ inch margin on the left leaving a six-inch area on the right in which to make notes. During class, take down information in the six-inch area. When the instructor moves to a new point, skip a few lines. After class, complete phrases and sentences as much as possible. For every significant bit of information, write a cue in the left margin. To review, cover your notes with a card, leaving the cues exposed. Say the cue out loud, then say as much as you can of the material underneath the card. When you have said as much as you can, move the card and see if what you said matches what is written. If you can say it, you know it.

Organized and systematic for recording and reviewing notes. Easy format for pulling out major concept and ideas. Simple and efficient. Saves time and effort. “Do-it-right-in-the-first-place” system.

When to Use

In any lecture situation.

The Outlining Method

Dash or indented outlining is usually best except for some science classes such as physics or math.

  1. The information which is most general begins at the left with each more specific group of facts indented with spaces to the right.
  2. The relationships between the different parts is carried out through indenting.
  3. No numbers, letters, or Roman numerals are needed.

Listening and then write in points in an organized pattern based on space indention. Place major points farthest to the left. Indent each more specific point to the right. Levels of importance will be indicated by distance away from the major point. Indention can be as simple as or as complex as labeling the indentations with Roman numerals or decimals. Markings are not necessary as space relationships will indicate the major/minor points.

Well-organized system if done right. Outlining records content as well as relationships. It also reduces editing and is easy to review by turning main points into questions.

Requires more thought in class for accurate organization. This system may not show relationships by sequence when needed. It doesn’t lend to diversity of a review attach for maximum learning and question application. This system cannot be used if the lecture is too fast.

When to Use

The outline format can be used if the lecture is presented in outline organization. This may be either deductive (regular outline) or inductive (reverse outline where minor points start building to a major point). Use this format when there is enough time in the lecture to think about and make organization decisions when they are needed. This format can be most effective when your note taking skills are super sharp and you can handle the outlining regardless of the note taking situation.

  • Extrasensory perception
    • definition: means of perceiving without use of sense organs.
      • three kinds
        • telepathy: sending messages
        • clairvoyance: forecasting the future
        • psychokinesis: perceiving events external to situation
      • current status
        • no current research to support or refute
        • few psychologists say impossible
        • door open to future

The Mapping Method

Mapping is a method that uses comprehension/concentration skills and evolves in a note taking form which relates each fact or idea to every other fact or idea. Mapping is a graphic representation of the content of a lecture. It is a method that maximizes active participation, affords immediate knowledge as to its understanding, and emphasizes critical thinking.

This format helps you to visually track your lecture regardless of conditions. Little thinking is needed and relationships can easily be seen. It is also easy to edit your notes by adding numbers, marks, and color coding. Review will call for you to restructure thought processes which will force you to check understanding. Review by covering lines for memory drill and relationships. Main points can be written on flash or note cards and pieced together into a table or larger structure at a later date.

You may not hear changes in content from major points to facts.

When to Use

Use when the lecture content is heavy and well-organized. May also be used effectively when you have a guest lecturer and have no idea how the lecture is going to be presented.

The Charting Method

If the lecture format is distinct (such as chronological), you may set up your paper by drawing columns and labeling appropriate headings in a table.

Determine the categories to be covered in the lecture. Set up your paper in advance by columns headed by these categories. As you listen to the lecture, record information (words, phrases, main ideas, etc.) into the appropriate category.

Helps you track conversation and dialogues where you would normally be confused and lose out on relevant content. Reduces amount of writing necessary. Provides easy review mechanism for both memorization of facts and study of comparisons and relationships.

Few disadvantages except learning how to use the system and locating the appropriate categories. You must be able to understand what’s happening in the lecture

When to Use

Test will focus on both facts and relationships. Content is heavy and presented fast. You want to reduce the amount of time you spend editing and reviewing at test time. You want to get an overview of the whole course on one big paper sequence.

The Sentence Method

Write every new thought, fact or topic on a separate line, numbering as you progress.

Slightly more organized than the paragraph. Gets more or all of the information. Thinking to tract content is still limited.

Can’t determine major/minor points from the numbered sequence. Difficult to edit without having to rewrite by clustering points which are related. Difficult to review unless editing cleans up relationship.

When to Use

Use when the lecture is somewhat organized, but heavy with content which comes fast. You can hear the different points, but you don’t know how they fit together. The instructor tends to present in point fashion, but not in grouping such as “three related points.”

Three Examples:

Example 1:

A revolution is any occurrence that affects other aspects of life, such as economic life, social life, and so forth. Therefore revolutions cause change. (See page 29 to 30 in your text about this.)

Sample Notes:

Revolution - occurrence that affects other aspects of life: e.g., econ., socl., etc. C.f. text, pp. 29-30

Example 2:

Melville did not try to represent life as it really was. The language of Ahab, Starbuck, and Ishmael, for instance, was not that of real life.

Sample Notes:

Mel didn’t repr. life as was; e.g., lang. of Ahab, etc. not of real life.

Example 3:

At first, Freud tried conventional, physical methods of treatment such as giving baths, massages, rest cures, and similar aids. But when these failed, he tried techniques of hypnosis that he had seen used by Jean-Martin Charcot. Finally, he borrowed an idea from Jean Breuer and used direct verbal communication to get an unhypnotized patient to reveal unconscious thoughts.

Sample Notes:

Freud 1st – used phys. trtment; e.g., baths, etc. This fld. 2nd – used hypnosis (fr. Charcot) Finally – used dirct vrb. commun. (fr. Breuer) - got unhynop, patnt to reveal uncons. thoughts.

i used to be a larry it got a little ridiculous and i couldn't hang anymore. why y'all such conspiracy theorists tho? what if none of this is subliminal like honestly they could have been in love in the beginning but i don't see it towards the end or even now. i'm gay as fuck for larry when i believed they were in love but

“why y'all such conspiracy theorists tho?”

It’s not my fault that whoever is behind this ridiculous cycle of stunts is so bad at their job and so bad at lying that the idea that a 24 year-old man was pushing a doll around in a pram whilst being photographed seemed 100% more likely than the story they told. Seriously. I wrote about it back in January here and I’m not copying and pasting it all, but it outlines what has been presented as “fact” versus what I actually saw with my own two eyes. It’s not even a conspiracy article, it’s words versus actions. Which is what everything comes down to. You’ve heard the whole “actions speak louder than words” saying yeah? Well it’s a good way to go about critical thinking. I prefer to think of what I say and post as “critical thinking” as opposed to “conspiracy”.

That article isn’t even taking into account that they announced the birth originally on the 20th of October 2015

I mean…it clearly looks like unfinished copy, but why have this story ready to go in October. On the day that One Direction cancelled their first show ever in five years.

But no, they really covered that up well and didn’t at all shroud the actual birth in any kind of mystery by having some lady announce it on Instagram before having Louis do a slow stroll past a TMZ photographer on his way to go into Sunglass Hut to have a quick look around before deeming their selection aggressively inadequate for his royal highness and walking back out via same pap in case they didn’t get the shot the first time.

I suppose I can see why people think this is a crazy conspiracy given how it’s covered in the media…

“what if none of this is subliminal”

“like honestly they could have been in love in the beginning but i don’t see it towards the end or even now.

Excuse m-

Now you’ve done it. You’ve brought “hollaback girl” Louis out because he heard that you were talking shit and you didn’t think that he would hear it.

We’re done here. Good day.

Looking for a Partner in Plot

So, here’s the thing. I’ve been wanting to write fanfics since ever, but the plots I come up with are too complex and overly ambitious and I find myself unable to actually get to write anything cause I get stuck during the planning.

I’ve always been looking for collaborators to work on the plot together, but I haven’t been very successful at that either. This is why I ended up dropping one project after another, with my great displeasure since I had spent months racking my brain on certain projects.

Now I decided to give some of my fics one last chance trying to find a collaborator. In this post I’ll present an outline of the most prominent fan fiction projects I’ve been working on hoping that some of you reading this post will be interested in working with me on it.

As of now, I’m not looking for someone to actually write the fic with (although of course if you are a good writer I’ll be very happy to know that you are interested) I am looking for a partner in plotting, someone who, like me, relishes in coming up with plots, imagining narratives and seeing the connections between stories. My primary aim at the moment is to complete the planning of the plot for one of these fics. Writing will come after that.

Btw i know that some of these fandoms are long dead, but I still hold dear my fanfic projects, so I’m still very willing to work on them and give them one last shot with this post. I’m not very good at summaries, so pardon me. English is not my first language.

Now, presenting the projects (working titles):

Archie Andrews & Jughead Jones - The Great Beyond
Fandom/type: Riverdale - Hogwarts AU
Pairs: Jarchie (main), Beronica (side), Jughead x Jason (past)
Complexity: 8/10
Progress:    5/10
Plot outline: Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica are students at Hogwarts and during their fifth year the vanishing of Jason Blossom sends the school into shock. In an attempt to solve the mystery of the boy’s disappearance they will uncover a dark secret about the Second Wizarding War and they will be faced with a conspiracy that threatens the entire wizarding world. All the while having to deal with teenage problems. In this fic we’re expanding the mythology of the wizarding world and we’ll be delving in mysteries untackled by the books. Sabrina and Salem will be prominent characters. Also the fic is set one year after the events of Cursed Child and will feature characters from it.

Life is Strange in Riverdale
Fandom/type: Riverdale - Life is Strange AU - Dishonored mythology
Pairs: Jarchie (main), Beronica (side)
Complexity: 8/10
Progress:    5/10
Plot Outline: Jughead and Archie have grown apart the last few months, but when Jughead witnesses Archie’s death in the school bathrooms. He discovers he has time powers and uses them to save his old the best friend. However, he’ll soon realise Archie’s life is being endangered on a daily basis by some evil workings of fate and so Jughead will try to save Archie’s life time and time again. He’ll have to come to terms with the fact that his meddlings with time disrupt the reality and because of this the town of Riverdale is endangered by higher forces. Jughead’s life is soon turned upside down by Jason’s ghost, a coven of witches and goodly entities outside of time. All the while he also tries to come to terms with his feelings for his best friend and the possibility that he may have to let Archie die in order to save the town.
The fic will borrow some characters and mythology from Dishonored while presenting situations similar to the ones in Life is Strange. Riverdale will provide the setting and the character. Sabrina and Salem will also be featured.

Once Upon a Time in Neverland
Fandom/type: OUAT Cannon Divergence
Pairs: not focus but many involving Pan, Swan Queen (background)
Complexity: 10/10
Progress:      7/10
Project outline: Peter Pan is not Rumple’s father but his brother. His aim is to conquer all the realms and he needs Henry’s heart to do it. This will be an alternative story to what happened in OUAT after episode 3x08 and will see Pan as the protagonist. It will be focused on Neverland and will feature a plethora of characters and stories.
It is an expansion of the OUAT universe way beyond what we saw in the show. It will follow Peter Pan in his rise to power, from his origins, when he was chosen to take over the role of Pan, the protector of Neverland, from the Pan who came before him, to when he was corrupted by darkness and started craving for more power. His search throughout the many realms for the Heart of the Truest Believer and his plans for the conquest of the universe once he got it. We will see Pan moving the island from one world to another. Then the battles for the domination of Oz, Wonderland, the Land Without Color, Atlantis and the many other realms. Pan’s fights against the Olympians and the other gods and higher powers. We will see Pan facing the eternal rivalry between magic and science in the battle against Tomorrowland. We’ll witness Pan make alliances with many villains across the lands. His plans unfolding and being defied by the Resistance of the people of Storybrooke and the other havens who stood up to his growing empire. Ultimately we’ll see Pan attempt to conquer our world, working with the power of belief. We’ll see the workings of the people trying to take him down and his eventual demise. We’ll delve in into the back stories of many characters such as Pocahontas, the Nutcracker, Pinocchio, Jim Hawkins, the Golden Fish, Dracula and lots more. We’ll expand the mythology and set clear rules to magic. We’ll discover the origins of Neverland and the first Pan, we’ll see how the forces of Light and Darkness battled for the Heart of the Truest believer since the dawn of time. We’ll also see Pan’s many love interests (he’s pansexual after all).
It will be one hell of a ride, if you’ll care to bear with me.

Rise of the Nightmare King
Fandom/type: ROTG sequel
Pairs: Jack x Jamie
Complexity: 7/10
Progress:    3/10
Plot outline: This is the story of how Jack watched Jamie grow, how Jamie grew up with the ghost of Jack but he never stopped believing in him. They eventually realized they were in love with each other and decided they wanted to be together despite all odds being against them. It’s the story of their journey seeking help from other spirits and legend (Valentine, Father Time, Mother Nature, and other characters from the Guardians of Childhood), looking for a way for a spirit and a human to be together. This is also the story of how the boogeyman played Jack and Jamie and got them apart while he restored his power and took over the world.

Descendants - A Prologue
Fandom/type: Descendants prequel
Pairs: not focus
Complexity: 3/10
Progress:    8/10
Project outline: This is supposed to be a short narration in which I tried to come up with an explanation as to why the land of Auradon came to be. Explaining how Auradon looks the way it does today. A mix of concepts from OUAT and Kingdom Hearts in an attempt to give a shred of plausibility to the world of Descendants. Honestly what the creators should have come up with to legitimize their world in the Disney canon but didn’t.

If you are interested in any of these projects you can contact me and let me know if you want to take part to the plotting or you can ask me any info you need. If you’ll decide to work with me i’ll let you know all the details about the plot so far.

Anyway, if you like my concepts, you can show your support with a like or a reblog, this way i’ll have a better chance at finding a partner in plot!

Judy: 198… 199… two hundred push-ups! Before noon. Right, on to squats!

[Meanwhile, across town…]

Judy: It’s a lot easier to handle paperwork these days. Still, it’s nicer to do it with company!

Judy: I agree! You have a calming presence.

Judy: Awh, thank you!

[Meanwhile, across town…]

Judy: You! Don’t you know littering is against the law? Yes, you, in the ugly orange shirt. Pick up that can!

[Meanwhile, across town…]

Judy: HQ, we’ve confirmed the drugs lab is currently active. Approximately eleven marks inside the building. Preparing to start the raid.

Judy: I’m ready.

Judy: Me too!

Judy: Ready when you are.

Judy: I’m pumped!

Judy: Good to go. On your command, Judy.

Judy: Heheheh… awesome. Girls - fall in.

Judy: I dunno, Clawhauser. I mean, obviously I like her newer stuff too, but Gazelle’s first three albums are just so hard to top. I think the only viable way to surpass them would be for her to really push the limits of the genre; and if she strays too far from her roots, would a comparison even be worthwhile?

[Meanwhile, across town…]

Judy: [reloading her twin pistols] Is that all you’ve got?! Huh?! You’re pathetic!! I’ve fought turnips that put up more of a challenge than you! [springs out of cover] YIPPIE-KAYAK, MOTHERFU-

Nick: The thought of you two unattended fills me with unspeakable dread.

Judy: You’re just jealous because I’ll replace you as her favourite!

Nick: Yes. That is precisely what I’m worried about. And, also, what will definitely happen.

Judy: Awh! I was joking but you made it sad…

Nick: Welcome to Casa Wilde.

Judy: Now as you can see, crime has dropped by over 3000% since, um, The Incident. But that doesn’t for a second mean we, as officers of the ZPD, should get complacent! If anything, this frees us up to do all sorts of community projects! I’m very open to suggestions, but I have a few quick ideas of my own that I’ve outlined in this presentation. Um, could you hit the next slide?

Judy: Sure thing!

Judy: Thanks.

[Meanwhile, across town…]

Judy: Hello, Judy Hopps speaking… Oh, of course! I’d love to give an interview to ZNN! I’m basically free whenever. Like, literally. Whenever. At all. Name a time. Three in the morning. I’d be there. …Yeah, okay, 6pm makes more sense. Whatever works for you.

Judy: …

Judy: …

Judy: …is it worrying I think you’re really pretty…?

Judy: Huh? You say something?

Judy: Nope.

She was even dropping off his twin grandchildren to help. Though reluctant, he decided to make sure the room was clear of spiders, so that the twins wouldn’t panic once they arrived.

As he approached the small, dark corner of the attic, the place where there would most certainly be spiders, his foot came in contact with a solid object. Cocking his head, he glanced down, his eyes finding a cardboard box; just one of many in the crowded space, covered in dust and labelled with a sharpie just like all the rest. He reached down, carefully brushing the dust off the top. He could get a headstart without his grandchildren here, couldn’t he?

His eyes narrowed, struggling to read the letters, He tugged on the string of the lightbulb overhead, blinking rapidly as he adjusted to the light. Peering back down at the box, his eyes trailed over the letters, hands trembling.

That was the first thing she thought when his birthday was approaching and she had already gifted him a lot of things in the years they had been dating; clothes, music related stuff, acting related stuff…she didn’t want to be boring or ordinary for he had always given her amazing presents that were well thought out and had marked small lines in her life. Her fingers trace the outline of the present she had wrapped and with closed eyes, she gives it to him but she opens her eyes too quickly, wishing to see the expression over his face in case he liked it. He chuckles lightly at her, always finding amusing how she could be the sexiest woman when she wanted it but then she turned into this shy girl that had his heart racing. His plump bottom lip is in between his teeth as he undoes the ribbon and rips the rest of the wrapping, letting out a muffled gasp as he covers his mouth.

Was the cool Do Kyungsoo surprised?

Now that was new.

Immediately, he turns the book around and inspects it with ease before rushing towards her and wrapping her in the warmest hug, making the two of them stumble back as they landed on the carpet with a thud, her legs wrapped around his waist and his other hand –that wasn’t holding the book- under her head so she wouldn’t hit herself. Kyungsoo presses his lips to her cheeks repeatedly and the way his eyes shined as brightly as the sun almost made her feel like she was the clouds that were beside it. His hair was disheveled now more than ever in that morning and when he pulls away from her cheeks, he kisses her lips. Definitely, the two were in love.

“Did you like it?” She asks as he presses kisses to her lips and the man straightens his back immediately, looking at her with bewilderment as if she had confessed some crime to him, one that would take her to hell and back with ease. Kyungsoo looks at the book once again and then he sighed, the smile on his face never faltering. “Kyungsoo, say something, I am getting scared.”

“I…” He stops a moment to collect himself before his straight and thick eyebrows raised up slightly. “I…can’t believe you listened enough to me to know that I wanted to read this book.” Kyungsoo’s low tone of voice made her heart shake with anticipation and her lips turned into a smile as well, wrapping her arms around his waist. “The synopsis, the slight grammatical changes and the poetic sense hidden behind them, the characters and the psychological structure behind them…this book looks like perfection.” The way his lips moved with ease when he spoke always made her feel cozier than ever. It seemed like he was some kind of prince and the intelligence and sarcasm that spilled from his mouth sometimes surprised her, but now she was used to it and she loved it. “I mean…I may not sleep tonight, I need to know what happens and I need to finish it-”

You are going to sleep tonight.” She warns him as she pinches his fluffy cheeks that were lifted up because of his smile. “You have practice tomorrow and let me tell you, I won’t listen to Junmyeon complain about your lack of sleep ever again.” A shiver runs down her spine when she remembers the maddened leader that gave her a devilish grin after his speech. Workaholics were always the most dangerous.

“That was different,” Kyungsoo’s way of defending himself was always powerful and precise. “That night was our anniversary and we weren’t exactly reading books when we were having s-” Her mouth is covered by her hand and he immediately chuckles against her palm, sticking his tongue out the slightest and making her groan. “The thing is…if you have another gift for me and it is the same gift you gave me for our anniversary, I won’t complain.”

“Do Kyungsoo!”

“What?” He asks with a smile and her embarrassment is calmed down the moment his fingers trace the outline of her cheek.

“You’re so dirty minded nowadays.” She comments and Kyungsoo laughs lightly. “I think you’ve been hanging out with Park Chanyeol a lot more than you should.” It was complete sarcasm when she said that but then Kyungsoo shrugs.

“Ah, I doubt someone really is ‘loving the size’ if we’re talking about Chanyeol-”

“I am the birthday boy, you can’t say anything!”

Kyungsoo smiles before kissing her cheek once again and helping her up. “Thank you, baby, for everything.”

“I’ll always be there by your side.” She promises.

Team Lockpicks vs Team Knock Knock

It’s like this: Long-term AI/human neural integration, in particular for fragmented AI ancillaries, can lead to a variety of neurological and psychological problems for the Freelancer.

York and Delta, when presented with this problem, chose to remain integrated because the separation would cause York harm and Delta, therefore, refused on the grounds that hurting York was unacceptable. They chose, instead, to cope with their new symbiotic but totally co-dependent existence. This lead to all the psychological and physical issues just outlined.

Gamma and Wyoming, presented with the same problem, separated immediately. Wyoming was hurt, badly, but as a result of separating early, the damage was minimal as it could be and he was able to recover. He then joined up with Gamma again to work with him but, you know, not literally living in his brain. This served them better in the long run, both tactically and socially.

Gamma, given a chance to speak with Delta, would have asked him how he could do that to his Freelancer. Delta, given a chance to respond, would not.

Scientists store digital images in DNA, and retrieves them perfectly

Technology companies routinely build sprawling data centers to store all the baby pictures, financial transactions, funny cat videos and email messages its users hoard.

But a new technique developed by University of Washington and Microsoft researchers could shrink the space needed to store digital data that today would fill a Walmart supercenter down to the size of a sugar cube.

The team of computer scientists and electrical engineers has detailed one of the first complete systems to encode, store and retrieve digital data using DNA molecules, which can store information millions of times more compactly than current archival technologies.

I love printing out pictures, but I’m gonna have to refrain from doing it often cause I need to save ink for my essays and presentation outlines :((

I didn’t like this spread as much as I thought, but the color scheme was super duper cute! Also!!!! Look at the lil avocado!!

By the way, I’m more active on my instagram (by the same name), so if anyone wants to talk, feel free to!

ADAD1002 Assessment 3. Collective Publication

This is a Photoshop experiment representing the type of direction we’re going. It was a really simple procedure involving scanning written text and layering colours on Photoshop to create the illusion of a hand holding an organ of some description.

This isn’t specifically what we’ll be presenting but outlines the way different layers can be used to form a ‘whole’ image.

For our  publication each member of the group has been assigned 3 different organs or parts of the body to experiment with visually to depict and/or represent. They are listed below:

  • Arteries/Veins
  • Intestines
  • Pancreas

  • Stomach
  • Brain
  • Esophagus

  • Heart
  • Kidneys
  • Skeleton

  • Lungs
  • Liver
  • Bladder

By this week’s studio class, we hope to have finalised some designs for the publication.
