Wait For Me?

Summary: Mark deals with you being deployed to another country, it’s hard and while the two of you still communicate, it simply can’t compare to being with one another in person. But, the thought of you coming back one day, it keeps him sane. (I highly recommend listening to this on repeat while reading! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlbfAYvA_gI  - it’s based off of this song after all!)

Heyo guys! I will say, while I have an aunt and uncle in the army, I don’t know too too much about it. So while I did some research, please forgive me if there are any inaccuracies.

“You’ll take care of yourself, won’t you Mark?”

“You know, if anything, I should be the one to say that,” His bittersweet chuckle met your ears, you were already working to remember everything about this man in front you, and his laugh was definitely something you wanted to have in mind.

“I’ll be fine, I promise. Tyler, can you keep an eye on this doof?”

“Absolutely,” Tyler offered you a sincere smile paired with a reassuring nod. You knew he’d stick to his word.

   “I don’t need it though…”

“Maybe, but I worry about you. So deal with it,” You teased, the ghost of a laugh passed your lips. Albeit, your eyes held a certain sadness to them- Mark caught this, after all, his eyes never left yours that day.

Your eyes caught the time from one of many clocks overhead, he didn’t want to see it in case his suspicions were correct. It couldn’t be time yet, could it?

   It could.

“Well, it’s time for me to go,” You took a deep breath from the pressure that built up in your chest, it felt like the weight of the world was crushing you. Reaching over, you hugged Tyler first. He was always like a big brother, maybe that was why he brought a sense of comfort to the hug; it helped to ease your nerves. “See you soon, Tyler.”

“Stay safe, (Y/n).” You simply replied with a smile as you pulled away, your attention returned to the man you loved so dearly.

His strong arms wrapped you up in a hug, clinging onto you like a koala to a tree, he held you in silence. Mark’s mind rushed alongside his heart, you could almost hear it despite the bustling crowd around you, after a few seconds you felt a minuscule splash on your shoulder. You pulled away to find him already in tears, “Oh Mark…” You gathered all your will to hold back your own river that’s on the verge of breaking the dam. Soft hands brushed the tears off his cheek, it was the first time he wouldn’t look at you. “Mark. Look at me, please,” your voice was stern but filled with concern.

   “I’m sorry, I just-”

“I know, I know.” He watched as you reached up to press a delicate kiss against his forehead, then nose, and finally, a far too short kiss on his lips, “I love you.”

“I love you too,” He struggled, but managed to put on a brave face for you. “Call me as soon as you can, okay?” His brown hues met your own and watched as they lit up with adoration.

“Already planning on it, baby,” You gave one final smile towards the two men before sparing a glance at the clock, “Behave you two!” A playful, winking expression was the last one Mark saw as you left. His heart swelled as he watched you fixing your military issued cap all while dashing across the airport to security.

   He missed you already.

Two months. It had been two months since your deployment and it was… tough. You were the first thing Mark thought about when he woke up and the last when he would fall asleep. Communication was sparse, he was lucky enough to be able to video chat you once a week or so. That helped a lot, for both of you. Albeit, it would never put an end to his worrying.

There were photos of you everywhere; he had you as his lock and home screen, plus the ones of the two of you framed around his house. Out of all the photos, however; there was only one he always kept on him. It was a small photo, but it was his favorite.

It wasn’t anything special, it was merely a photo that was taken a day you and Mark had gone to the park. You were wearing this adorable hat, it was a floppy sunhat and it made you look so cute- ergo, Mark thought he should steal it. You had playfully rolled your eyes and allowed for his silliness to pursue. He had taken the photo at the perfect time, you were in his lap with his free arm around your waist, both of you making adorable yet silly faces at the camera- it was terribly accurate of your relationship. But that’s why Mark never let this picture leave him, because in this simple photograph- there was a world, a memory, where time was forever frozen still in this happiness, there wasn’t any violence he had to be worried about, no war, no heartbreaks, nothing; there was only your love in this world.

After you left, Mark tried to wear only one type of shirt- ones with chest pockets. Why? So he could keep that memory, keep you, close to his heart.

“No way, really?! Mark! I swear the next time we video chat, you better be wearing that deer costume,” You laughed, God, it was refreshing to hear you laugh. You’d been gone for seven months at this time, and while he loved video chatting, it somehow made him realize just how far away you were. Nonetheless, time zones were hell; you were about twelve hours ahead in Iraq.

“I’ll see what I can do,” He teased, his smile softened as he watched your sleepy eyes, you must’ve woken up an hour or so ago. “Tired?”

You shrugged, “Just rough night,” though before he can interrupt you answer the question you knew he was about to ask, “-as in we had a lot of work to do. I’m supplies Mark, I know it’s still dangerous, believe me I know, but our only enemy last night was sorting out MREs.” A smile spread across your lips that you hoped would assure him of your safety. “And how are you?”

His tan hand ran through those messy noir locks of his, a sign of exhaustion or nervousness, possibly both. “I’m doing the best I can, I shouldn’t really complain though should I? You’re out there and I’m just-” Mark caught a glimpse of your raised brow as if to tell him to not even bother continuing that sentence, which enticed a chuckle from him, “Still sassy?”

   “You know it, baby, always.”

The genuine smile that crossed his expression was a rare sight by now, it filled you with joy to see it again. His kind eyes stared into your own, “I really miss you.”

“I miss you too, Mark… You’ll wait for me, right?”

Your question perplexed him, it wasn’t something he’d expect to hear you ask, “What?”

“You’ll wait for me to come home?”

“Of course.” How could he do anything else?

His thumb traced circles on that photo while his other hand absentmindedly petted the golden dog beside him. He had noticed that even Chica was a little less playful after you left, she missed you too, huh?

During a call, you swore that it would get easier as time went on, soon sorrow would turn into excitement as Mark would be able to count the days down until you come home. Yet, the heavy cloud of heartache still lingered, even after ten months. It was tough, to say the least. Some days were better than others, love was hard; especially when the person you love was an ocean away.

The one thing he was thankful for out of all that’s happened though is that he never felt alone. His memories of you, photos of you, it all helped to fill in the missing gaps in his life that belonged to you. And talking to you, whether on the phone and hearing your wake-up voice or watching you laugh and smile over video chat, it brought life back to his soul. It was one of the only things he looked forward to.

   The phone rang.

He set down the photo and gave Chica a pat before he picked it up, “Hello?”

The call was short. After a few minutes, he had already said goodbye.

But that didn’t stop him from dropping the phone as he stood in the center of his kitchen paralyzed. Whether he knew it or not, his face was drenched in hot tears that had been running down his cheeks since the man over the phone started talking.

There was an ambush on supply caravans, the crossfire between the armies got messy and… And you had gotten entangled in that mess.

You were in critical condition and things weren’t looking up.

He told Mark to, “Be prepared for the worse.”

Mark couldn’t sleep that night, instead, he just sobbed.

   He was defeated.

All the stars in the sky looked as if they were dimmed; the light in his life was erased from existence.

It was a week after the call. Yet only more of them kept coming, the first few he ignored. Mark didn’t want to hear the final news, he didn’t want to here if you…

Though, he eventually answered them. The photograph was in his hand- he was so nervous he almost caused it to fold. Mark stopped himself before that could happen, he didn’t want to damage you in that world too. When he finally picked up, his feelings of despair faded and were instead replaced with hope, hope that grew into something bigger like the wild flowers at daybreak, it bloomed into something joyous.

   You’d been showing improvement!

His smile never ceased to stop that day and would willingly admit that a few tears fell from pure elation. Whether it was foolish or not, ever since that day he believed you would be in his arms again, it was only a matter of time.

When he went outside with Chica later, he noticed how the sun appeared to shine a bit brighter than before.

“I told you I would be okay, Mark,” Your sweet, calm voice reminded him over the phone, to which he shook his head at.

   “You almost died! That’s not-”

“But the point is that I didn’t,” You interrupted, he heard the smile in your voice. He was certain you imagined his worried expression as he spoke as well.

“I know… God, I am so happy that you’re alright. How are you healing up?”

“Pretty good, we have amazing doctors here. They told me to keep the workload on a minimum for now, but overall-” A doorbell interrupted you- the familiar rang through the phone. “Do you wanna get that?”

“No, you’re more important,” He reassured before adding, “Plus I wasn’t expecting anyone today, it might be the Girl Scouts with their ever tempting cookies.”

It rang again. Your laugh echoed over the speaker, how he missed that melody, “It seems like they really want you to answer, Mark. I’ll wait, just go ahead and check- though if it is girls selling cookies, how about you get me some?”

Mark chuckled, “Why not, but I’m still taking you with me,” He headed to the door, twisting the knob to open it. “Plus, I can never remember-” But as Mark looked to see who was at the door, he only met those loving eyes he’d missed so dearly.

You were still in uniform as you leaned against the door frame. Eyebrows quirked up at his gobsmacked expression, “I’m guessing that my surprise worked?” Oh God, how fast could his heart beat before it would become a firework of euphoria? He couldn’t believe it- there you were, after almost thirteen months, there you were. This wasn’t a photograph nor was it a computer screen; this was real life.

He stood frozen, shocked and amazed. It wasn’t long until you watched as tears fell from his eyes, which completely broke your heart. In that instant, you embraced him tightly with every fiber of your being, the familiar embrace was what sent you into tears soon after. Mark was thawed from his frozen state and pulled you close to him, it was tight and while you’d almost expect it to hurt, the adrenaline and endorphins must have blinded you to the pain- you were rather thankful for that.

“You’re back?” His question was mumbled by your hair but you nodded nonetheless.

“I was scheduled to come back in fourteen months, but after the accident, they figured, why not now? It was only a few weeks away,” You explained, head nuzzled into the crook of his neck.

Mark began to loosen his grip but held you close all the same, “I hope you know I’m never letting you go.”

You smiled warmly, pulling back a bit as you stared up into those big brown orbs of his, “Good, ‘cause I don’t want you to.”

I’ve realized I made Mark cry a lot in this, but that’s okay. I feel like it’s accurate lol EIther way, I hope you all enjoyed this wonderfully angsty but fluffy story, please tell me if you did! :)

Otaku war Japan-2channel and GamerGate

The fact that we face. Culture aggression by the yellow journalism in ignorant media.

The Western Internet didn’t exchange with Japan by the difference in words until now. Two were history of separate development. but, Two world are facing the same crisis now. It is rise of ignorant media. Crushing to a true voice by the yellow journalism. And their targets is Videogame and Anime.

I do not know a lot about the Western Internet. but I will guess it right. They are the new mass media which made a fortune by an advertisement. They use yellow journalism to increase the numbers that a person clicks. Exaggerated entry, impression control, negative campaign, political maneuvering……They enlarged the power in that way. By their lie, The people are often opposed. This trick is called in this way in 2channel. “対立煽り The agitation of the antagonism”.

They call themselves Enthusiast. So it might be thought that they were friends of otaku at first. They get mixed in the good will people.

The evil of the yellow journalism is not only a provocative false rumor. They pretend to be the majority of consumers. And they force totalitarianism. Many enterprise uses them for marketing and advertising, too. In that way the communication of a developer and consumers is distorted. We lose freedom of choice. This case was also Japan. They are called in this way in Japan. まとめブログ matome blog. Matome blog is the blog that summarized otaku culture by advertisement profit. The affiliate-blog are called “アフィ affi” for short too.

The Otaku culture is already a slave of the advertisements. for example, Kojima Hideo of the victim of gg is criticized in Japan. The spot where he ate with plural matome-blogger was taken to a photograph. I respect his game. Kojima Hideo is a creator with the concepts. however even he cannot ignore the yellow journalism.

Much matome blog copies a thread of 2channel. It’s unauthorized reproduction. Deep Otakus gather to 2channel. It had value to peep into their conversation.

2channel has been often called in this way.“The graffiti of the public lavatory”. but, actually, it was art. This decade was a century of 2ch. AA, faceicon, online slang, curse, violence, hacking, MADmovie……2channeler brought about various culture. You have one question here. If 8chan wants to go, I go to 8chan. Why do the people peep into 2channel without going to 2chanel? Many otaku make a fool of 2channel, but want to use their culture. Because 2channel is a danger zone, many otaku does not approach. And many otaku want to use it safely. This people is Readers of Matome-blog. Matome blogs have hundreds of thousands of readers. This number may count more than 10 fold of 2channeler. Unfortunately the West is not unrelated to this Japan yellow journalism, too. Many of information about the otaku in the West are distorted information with yellow journalism as far as I looked. for example, I confirmed a lot it in sankaku and 4chan. It is the same as our not having doubted an overseas game journalist.

However, the true danger hid behind in matome-blog. The article of matome blog is not a complete copy. It was dramatized by editing and an exaggeration. And they were companies rather than otaku. They write by themselves in 2channel thread and made the note an article by oneself. Some major blog stops reproduction by 2channeler resistance today. However, the character of the media turns into nothing. In addition, the media continues various negative campaigns that assumed name of 2channeler . The true problem is hiding. 2channeler called many people. but many otakus ignore us by indifference. It is not maintenance of the culture to be important to them. It’s convenience. The religion that many Japanese have is convenience. I said. Are you Otaku? There was not their answer.

In fact, I am 2channeler, but dislike them because Kenmo in 2channel is a sinkhole. It’s Madmax2-like. However, they are ture Otaku and Enthusiast. I can assert it.

2channel fought against the yellow journalism. “嫌儲 Kenmo” was born by the resistance to them. Kenmo means people hating a profit. It is the name that an enemy gave them. Kenmo forbids reprinting an entry from kenmo. Originally they were in news-board"ν速 Newsoku" where otakus gathered, They destroyed themselves home as protest to the sutema-trouble and emigrated to Kenmo. 2channeler said, “Our last enemy was us”.

Stealth and viral marketing called “ステマ Sutema” for short too in Japan. Sutema is that a company pretends to be consumers and advertises a product. It means the Otaku culture-camouflage in particular because the work supported by Otaku has a brand. Fake buyer is classic method but it’s difficult to find evidence in Internet. And, a developer and Otaku make a fool of a different genre routinely in Japan. Nobody can distinguish the negative-campaign by the mob and the negative-campaign by the yakuza-company. To conclude, Be careful, it is important how you like the work than inquire which work is sutema even if sutema existed. I think that Otaku and Gamer of the imitation appeared because such an argument lacked.

“偽2ch騒動 The fake 2channel case” began by leaks of personal information in 2channel. By the issue of responsibility of this case, JIM of the partner of 8chan replaced Hiroyuki of former manager, and JIM became the existing manager of 2channel. The relations with Hiroyuki and various companies which intervened in 2channel were leaked then.
Hiroyuki called 2channel a personal bulletin board, to escape from punishment and a tax of the law. but actually, Hiroyuki operated the information of 2channel and sold it. What did Hiroyuki who was ousted do? Hiroyuki made fake-site of 2channel, and he has begun to steal information of 2channel. It’s “2ch.sc”. True 2channel url is 2ch.net.

2ch.sc has a function that automatically reprint information from kenmo of reproduction prohibited in 2ch.net. And 2ch.sc admitted reproduction. What the hell!! It’s fuck trick. That is not all. Hiroyuki’s stratagem is more evil. Hiroyuki let 2channel fall by a server-attack and a threat and hacking, and planned to invite 2channeler to the 2ch.sc. However, By activity of Jim and Codemonkey and Kenmo-men in 2channeler, all his strategies failed.

Kenmo hacked Hiroyuki’s twitter account.

Kenmo are barely defending a place of themselves now. However, the crisis does not go away. In perspective nothing changes. And, many Otakus are indifferent to this case.

The people do not have a sense of impending crisis towards spin control and the intervention of the yellow journalism. They are confident of media literacy. However, they are the masses moved for a rumor at the same time. They say that we blame them. “It’s crazy conspiracy theory”. However, We do not want to talk about “They Live” and “the Mars attack”. This is a more political story. The true media literacy is to doubt oneself like Descartes and it’s to believe freedom of choice.

Probably many people do not want to choose the value in oneself.
The guide always carrying the next topic are attractive. Anyone may want to share value with everyone than finds value. I dislike the loneliness, too. but, The death of the culture is sadder. Convenience and the maintenance of the culture are put on a balance now. The Japanese case. Many otaku chose to be in the front of fashion than the principle of otaku. Communication and the personality are not possible there. In this place, there is only enmity and the negation of others and self-praise. I can see it like that, producers want to jump at a simple consumers image too. Producers and developers are afraid that they antagonize the majority. And they withhold a political attitude. Will the culture be run by such consumers and makers? Is it right? I refuse it. I ever liked Anime and Manga and Videogame because Anime and Manga and Videogame did not ignore the serious theme. Those handled the incident of the underground and radical concept and design in real time. Besides, I was able to choose value freely, and was allowed to talk about it freely. Without such a common sense, I do not need Otaku culture. I will make new culture.

I am surprised at gamergate and agreement with Japan. Japan and the Western situation closely resemble. This resemblance is despair, but I feel a chance. In Japan and the West, There are one different point. Gamergate rise in the West. Both Otaku culture and Game culture became famous. There are many people in these culture now. It will be good to feel nostalgic for the idyllic era. However, time when we did armament of the speech came soon.

We will begin it once again. We will gather once again. There are various people in gg. Man, woman, transsexual, various races, geek, boys and girls, handicapped people, unemployment, artist, fool, wise man, non native english person, girl of character etc…..
Videogame caused us. Is the game culture only for us who are new not begun?

The people are curious about a game. The people worry about a game.
However, the true enemy of people is not a gamer. It is the yellow journalism. What is the best method to introduce it into?

 2ちゃんねる騒動・今回の騒動をNHK風に解説してみた【ひろゆき】2014

anonymous asked:

Imagine Bucky having no moral compass post-WS. He'll kill to get the job done and the only thing holding him back is Steve. The Avengers slowly realize this.

“We need to talk,” Natasha said, sitting down on the coffee table in Steve’s living room.  The Avengers needed to have a discussion with their new ally and, at Steve’s request, talking to Bucky in the relative comfort of a living room seemed like the best idea.

Though, he wasn’t sure if it’d actually help.

Bucky sat on the sofa in front of her, a soda in hand.  "About what?“

“Your tactics.”

“What about them?”

“You don’t have any,” Wanda snarked in annoyance, her arms crossed as she leaned against the wall.

Sam decided to clarify before things went south.  "Last mission, you went AWOL and didn’t respond to comms.  No one could reach you.“

"I was doing my job,” Bucky said defensively.  "Steve here told me to cause a distraction so Natasha and Wanda could get into the building undetected.  I did that.“

"There was a litter of bodies all over!” Wanda snapped.

“Of our enemies!  Last I checked, they were fair game.  Unless there was a rule I missed about not killing the enemy, I don’t see the problem.”

Steve sighed from his spot next to his friend.  "They’re being serious, Bucky.“

Bucky leaned back against the sofa and stretched.  "So am I.  Dead bodies are a distraction.  Sam gave a heads up on how many people he saw from above, bad guys went to check out the scene, I killed them when they showed up.  No guards meant Natasha and Wanda could get in, get the intel for Fury and get out.  Steve even rescued some hostages like the hero he is,” he said teasingly.  "Mission fucking accomplished.“

"That’s not how we do things,” Steve said.  He rubbed the bridge of his nose, the conversation even more draining than expected.  "How’d you even know who was a threat and who wasn’t?“

"I’m not stupid, Steve.  Guns usually mean a threat.  Or has that changed too?”

“Everyone does their part,” Steve continued, trying to keep his voice level.  "Things go smoother when everyone is on the same page.  We can’t depend on luck.  We all need to know what the others are doing.  That’s what the comms are for.  You go silent on radio and we think you’re compromised.  We need to be able to reach you.“

Bucky snorted and sent Steve a sharp look.  It’d be a cold day in Hell before he’d tolerate a lecture on his methods.  "I’m not an Avenger, remember?  You called me in for back up and that’s what the fuck I did.  Don’t like how I do things?  Then don’t fucking ask.”

Sam could see the angry look on Steve’s face and decided to jump in before the words turned into something more.  "All we’re asking is that you keep us in the loop.  We all communicate when we’re in the middle of a mission.  We’ve got your back like you’ve got ours.  We’re all friends here, right?“

"So, you don’t trust that I’m gonna handle my business?  I have to check in every 5 minutes?  I don’t need a babysitter,” Bucky said.

“No one is saying that!” Steve was at his wits end and couldn’t help raising his voice.  Bucky’s head was harder than a cement wall, so shouldn’t have been surprised.  Some things never change.  "We were concerned about you, okay?  Is that a crime?  Remember a few months ago when we had that mission in Austria–“

Bucky rolled his eyes with a sigh, knowing what was coming next.

”–and we were supposed to rescue those SHIELD agents who were trapped in that Hydra base and bring in that jerk Galishoff.  Remember?  What did you do?“

"You rescued them and I shot Galishoff in the shoulder.  So what?  You took him alive, didn’t you?”

Wanda stepped forward, her hands in fists.  "You shot him through one of the agents he was using as a human shield!“

"For fuck’s sake, she was insurance!” Bucky explained a bit more forcefully than intended.  "If the bullet didn’t take him down, you give the hostage a clean wound and he can’t take her.  Who is gonna use someone wounded as a hostage?  Sam, you know I’m right!  You were the one who dressed her wound afterwards!“

"Don’t look at me,” Sam said, shaking his head.

Wanda wasn’t backing down.  "She could’ve died!“

"I made sure she didn’t!  What do you think ‘clean wound’ means?!  Gunshot wounds aren’t always fatal, you know!”

“That much is obvious,” Natasha said, her voice nearly venomous as an unpleasant memory fluttered to the surface.  "I’ve got a pretty little scar on my abdomen from you using that trick.  Though, I thought you’d left those Winter Soldier strategies behind.“

Bucky stared her down, his eyes hard at her comment.  "Why change what works?  You know all about that, don’t you?”

“Enough!” Steve finally said, standing up as his eyes burned into his friend.  "This discussion ends here.  You put innocent people in danger again or endanger us, we’re going to have a problem.  These two incidents aren’t the only ones.  I’ve got a few others I could bring up.  Argentina ring a bell?“

"Steve–”

“You were gonna kill those civilians until I made the call not to.  Guilty by association is not your judgment call to make!  What if I’m not there next time when you decide to take matters into your own hands?”

Bucky bolted to his feet and entered Steve’s personal space, not intimidated by his words in the least.  He slammed the soda can on the coffee table, indentations from his fingertips clear in the aluminium.  "Next time you want help, Captain America, call someone else.  Because you obviously can’t handle doing what is necessary.“

Without a second word, Bucky pushed past Steve to the front door, the room silent as the door slammed behind him.

"That could’ve went better,” Sam said.
