We aren't alone on this Earth.

Coral reefs are dying. Many animals are at risk if the climate changes. This isn’t something that will happen by natural causes; WE did this. We will be solely responsible for the slow ruin of our planet, our only home. Are you sure you want that?

: I want to take us far away to another planet get rid of those in power who are using it to destroy our homes, our countries and our planet.. Somewhere we can start over.. Free of hate and judgement… The world is out of control its CHAOS. I can’t even name every country I am praying for or every minority being attacked… I can’t save the world and it feels like sometimes we are helpless to those who are killing, hurting and destroying humanity. However… Spreading more hate by attacking people for not doing enough, or not posting hashtag prayers quick enough is just an extension of the problem. Hashtags don’t and have never saved the world… Did we find Kony.. Did we bring back out girls?? We did make a lot of money by pouring ice buckets on our heads but honestly.. I never feel I’m doing enough and yet I’m always trying in every way I can. All I can urge you is to do the same, but we are all the same and we are all equal here so don’t attack another for praying for their family in France or Syria or in the BLM protests but not listing everywhere else that matters every time.
We should be holding hands, loving with our whole hearts and being kind to each other, after all above us seems to be a scary place and we will only get through this by caring for one another and not judging and being United.
I care about everything going on, I’m sad, I’m disheartened. Things don’t feel the same, I’m confused.. I feel everything you probably do… I am in France right now but I’m also reading about Turkey.. And watching awful videos of BLM protesters being bashed and arrested while peacefully protesting the murder of innocent people by the police force who should be protecting them.
Don’t fight one another, use that energy to fight for a cause, to fight for the bigger picture.

“With social media today we leave a trail of who we are for people and ourselves to reference. We become a perception of our true selves. Shedding all that and forcing myself so far outside of my comfort zone I began to realize who I really was. Some of it wasn’t very good. Being anonymous in what feels like another world will take you to your darkest places. Having no responsibility or expectations will also make you realize what truly makes you happy.”

On the Moon, the Earth never rises – or sets. If you were to sit on the surface of the Moon, you would see the Earth just hang in the sky. This is because the Moon always keeps the same side toward the Earth. Curiously, the featured image does picture the Earth setting over a lunar edge. This was possible because the image was taken from a spacecraft orbiting the Moon - specifically the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). In fact, LRO orbits the Moon so fast that, from the spacecraft, the Earth appears to set anew about every two hours. The featured image captured one such Earthset about three months ago. By contrast, from the surface of the Earth, the Moon sets about once a day – with the primary cause being the rotation of the Earth. LRO was launched in 2009 and, while creating a detailed three dimensional map of the Moon’s surface, is also surveying the Moon for water and possible good landing spots for future astronauts.

One of my favorite books could not have said it better. We only have one Earth and it is the one thing that every race, every religion, and every single person has in common. Somehow we forget about our home. There is no back up plan and I believe we should start taking care of our planet N🌎W. Every day is Earth Day! What will you do?

Earth and Milky Way from Space : Since November 2000, people have been living continuously on the International Space Station. To celebrate humanity’s 15th anniversary off planet Earth, consider this snapshot from space of our galaxy and our home world posing together beyond the orbital outpost. The Milky Way stretches below the curve of Earth’s limb in the scene that also records a faint red, extended airglow. The galaxy’s central bulge appears with starfields cut by dark rifts of obscuring interstellar dust. PART TWO: EARTH ELEMENT // PENTACLES & DISKS

For those of you who are just popping in, this is the second part in a series on Elemental Meditations in the Tarot. Please stick around, read, reflect, respond, recycle, whatever it is you feel like doing. You can check out Part One here.

When we think about the Pentacles, what’s the first thing that usually comes to mind? Money. We look at those little coins and think, Oh, great… (or maybe Oh Great!!!!), but what we don’t realize is that that automatic, trained assumption has just limited us (again) in reading the cards to their fullest potential.

Earth is the element of stability, growth, and our material beings. It represents our bodies and homes, our resources and physical survival, and the planet around us. It kinda makes sense then that we see money pop up in our minds again and again, right? Money defines our material lives. Money dictates our survival. But we have to realize that it’s not the root of the meaning of Earth, just the method by which we are often forced, in modern society, to access that root.

So let’s look a little deeper into this element and ignore money for a few minutes. Earth is about learning how to survive. How to build, grow, maintain, and thrive with others. It teaches us to develop our material reality, whether that’s a skill or craft you are learning, or rejuvenating your physical health, or building a nurturing, loving home for you and your community. There’s a lot about this suit that is deeply about physical wellness and enjoyment, so we have to ask ourselves - what makes us well? Resources like food, home, medicine, and tools. Specialty passions that develop these resources like cooking, baking, gardening, herbalism, woodworking, weaving, clothes-making, carpentry, or food gathering. Or self care tasks like eating well, sleeping right, and enjoying simple pleasures at home or outdoors. These are the kinds of things we are learning to do, to build, and to offer in this suit.

In 2008, after two summers of wildfires laid waste to their forests, the citizens of Macedonia didn’t need anyone to tell them their forests were in trouble. And so they decided to put all those trees back … in one day. The simplistic plan must have been the laughingstock of the green movement. Everyone knows you have to get Bono to attend one of your parties before your nonprofit is taken seriously.

Not realizing that they hadn’t done any of that, on November 19, 2008, the citizens of Macedonia got together and planted a total of 6 million trees – three trees for every human in the country. Thousands of people were bused around the country to planting sites. “Just as we take care of our homes, weshould take care of our planet,” said one of the citizens who took part in the planting, and then “I don’t know what you’re talking about” when asked which ad agency had come up with that slogan.

The next year, when the fires took their toll again, Macedonians had another planting day, where they put down another 6 million trees. They did it again last year, when they put down 7 million. By November 2011, they had planted 44 million new trees (with only two days of planting a year).

The 8 Most Incredible Things Slapped Together in a Day

“This latest edition of the Living Planet Report is not for the faint-hearted. One key point that jumps out is that the Living Planet Index (LPI), which measures more than 10,000 representative populations of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, has declined by 52 per cent since 1970.

Put another way, in less than two human generations, population sizes of vertebrate species have dropped by half. These are the living forms that constitute the fabric of the ecosystems which sustain life on Earth – and the barometer of what we are doing to our own planet, our only home. We ignore their decline at our peril.

We are using nature’s gifts as if we had more than just one Earth at our disposal. By taking more from our ecosystems and natural processes than can be replenished, we are jeopardizing our very future. Nature conservation and sustainable development go hand-in-hand. They are not only about preserving biodiversity and wild places, but just as much about safeguarding the future of humanity – our well-being, economy, food security and social stability – indeed, our very survival.

In a world where so many people live in poverty, it may appear as though protecting nature is a luxury. But it is quite the opposite. For many of the world’s poorest people, it is a lifeline. Importantly though, we are all in this together. We all need nutritious food, fresh water and clean air – wherever in the world we live.

Things look so worrying that it may seem difficult to feel positive about the future. Difficult, certainly, but not impossible – because it is in ourselves, who have caused the problem, that we can find the solution. Now we must work to ensure that the upcoming generation can seize the opportunity that we have so far failed to grasp, to close this destructive chapter in our history, and build a future where people can live and prosper in harmony with nature.”

Fuck Speciesism

When people say “animals were put on earth for the humans” - I wonder where on earth you can get to such a conclusion? What makes us so powerful and special, to be considered superior?

The answer that is thrown my way constantly is that we are (supposedly) more “intelligent” than other creatures on this planet - though sometimes I find that highly ironic, when it’s incredibly STUPID the way in which we treat our own bodies, each other and our home planet so badly for no damn good reason.

All animals were put on earth for the same reason. To live. Not to be enslaved, hunted for ‘sport’ or exploited.

As the human race we have wiped out and are continuing to wipe out entire species, are currently destroying the planet on a massive scale, and we are overall consuming more than necessary even if it puts lives and the very planet we live on at stake. But a majority of human beings are willing to turn a blind eye to these issues. Some people have even said to me that they don’t care.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that doesn’t feel very intelligent to me? It feels like the exact opposite. If anything, I feel like our species is surely the scum of this planet.

Animals deserve freedom more than us. They aren’t ruining their home planet for superficial and unnecessary purposes.

But we are. Because we are so “intelligent.”

Me: I love nature and plants an animals. the best superpower would be being able to turn into  an animal. I love watching nature documentaries and i was raised by David Attenborough and Steve Irwin. There is beauty everywhere in nature, from the way light filters through the leaves on a simple tree to the grand mountains that stretch into the sky.  There is beauty everywhere. The sky is a canvas and clouds are paint.  Our planet, our magnificent home, which we share with an impossible amount of other creatures of every imaginable shape and size, is the definition of beauty and awe.

Also me: *Never goes the fuck outside*

Imagine: It’s discovered that there are space-faring aliens out there, and NASA or something invites them over to Earth.

Before the aliens arrive, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and possibly racism increase because everyone’s all like “well the aliens are so advanced they’ll know that we bigots are in the right!!”

And then the aliens arrive

They see gay people, they’re like “oh that’s cool we don’t consider that a big deal our gays care for orphaned children on our home planet and colonies”

They see trans people, they’re like “oh yeah we totally get that x members of our crew identify different too” or “oh x group on our planet changes gender without changing anatomy sometimes so we’re cool with it”

They see women and they’re all like “why aren’t you treating your females with the highest respect they are the backbone of your entire species”

Then they see racism and they’re all like “y’know what it was nice to come over for a visit but we really need to go now” and they leave and come back later with at least 2 members of every single ethnic group from their planet (plus some mixed-race alien kids) all like “humans you must celebrate your differences the way we do”

I don’t know this just popped into my head
