our mother is in the next room and she has no idea

Some Thoughts: Storm in the Room

With the reactions post-Storm in the Room, I feel that Steven doesn’t get enough credit. Going to Rose’s Room, searching for answers, and comfort even though he didn’t know that yet, Steven wasn’t setting out to create a perfect mother or project himself the ideal version of Rose. He starts, the moment he enters the room, by saying he knew it wasn’t real.

Everything Steven did with Cloud Rose, everything that happened between them, were reasonable assumptions we could make of Rose. And this is because the Rose we saw was from Steven’s expectations of what she would be like. And Steven was wary about idealising Rose the way the Crystal Gems did. He says this explicitly several times. Also, Steven’s view of Rose was tempered early on by Greg’s stories of her.

So the Rose we see isn’t a sad Steven’s attempt at finding the perfect mother figure. Steven’s attempt at a reasonable and believable portrayal of Rose deserves to be acknowledged. Had it not been the case, the Rose we saw could not have evoked the feelings she did. It’s because of the depth Steven introduced to her from all his memories of her that it was made possible.

And what I want to talk about in this post, is how the images of Rose reflect which narratives he’s channeling as he tries to piece together, quite literally, the image of Rose.

The first appearance of Cloud Rose shows her with messy hair, parts of it stick up and around her. Her facial expressions are often wiggly, for lack of better word, and she shows her thighs a lot more than in the succeeding scenes, either in cross-sitting or running.

This Rose is goofy and funny and casual. And it’s the Rose whom Greg’s stories have constructed in Steven’s memories.

The same scenes we see Rose hitch up her dress in the same way (such as when she’s reading books with Greg on the bed) or similarly goofy, like stopping a ferris wheel with her bare hands, she’s with Greg.

Even the line Steven takes from her video in Lion 3: Straight to Video, about “every X being unique and beautiful” is shot in Greg’s presence. Without realising it, Steven is remembering this image of Rose.

And she cares about Steven. She engages in his interests. It’s not so far a stretch because some episodes back, Bismuth was willing to do the same thing. Rose was a fun person. There’s a running joke that she would have loved cheesy and corny jokes. She probably told a few in her day.

She probably wasn’t always as poised as presented in her portrait. Greg remembers the Rose he changed, when she was starting to understand human beings in earnest and come to terms with how they could exist with gems on the same level.

Rose at that point still didn’t want to talk about her past, and Greg never made her. So Greg and Rose made new memories and didn’t dwell on the old. And those memories were filled with fun and laughter and love.

The moment sobers when it is Rose not Steven, who gestures the latter to sit down and stare at the expanse of clouds.

And we should know that what we’re about to see means something has changed. The first hint is that Rose’s body language changes. She sits perfectly straight, even though she’s cross-sitting the way she was earlier. And we don’t see her legs anymore. Her hair neatens and her expression calms.

What’s more, her hands assume the position Garnet did in Here Comes A Thought in Mindful Education. And that emphasises the kind of role Rose plays in this moment. Steven felt Rose taught Garnet how to manage her feelings, because it was a motherly thing to do. In a very Steven Universe fashion, the music changes from the bright xylophone to a quiet piano music, which is the mark of another Crystal Gem, Pearl.

And when we go back to the senior Crystal Gems and their image of Rose, it is exactly the way she’s presented.

Cloud Rose is a huge presence, with Steven a small child by her side. She speaks deliberately, every word is one of wisdom. She is magnanimous and comforting at the same time.

She tells him, “But we’ve been together the entire time.” And it brings back the idea of how our parents are always with us, and a part of us, because one way or another they’ve left a mark on us.

At the same time though, the similarities of the scenes between this moment and the one at Rose’s Fountain in An Indirect Kiss, lead to the same end.

Rose is viewed as a godly icon, very distant from Steven. She’s not sitting beside him, playing with him, kneeling on the ground anymore. He looks up to her, and he can’t reach her.

In both times, he realises she’s not really there. That he talked to the statue of Rose in the fountain, confided his deepest insecurities about how he didn’t know how to feel about her when everyone else did, parallels the empty image on his phone.

And it segues into the next scene perfectly.

Because Steven doesn’t know how to feel about Rose. Now, he’s more certain than ever that he doesn’t even know who she is. The Rose we see at the end has a blank face, because Steven can’t project anything on it. He’s thinking of Pink Diamond’s shattering, Bismuth, and the Rebellion, and all the people hurt by them.

When he sees Rose, he can no longer see himself, which is why her eyes, one of the facial features most like Steven’s, (next to his nose) are nowhere to be seen.

And this Rose is distant, because there’s no mitigating narrative linking him to her. In the other scenes, the room remained the same, because these stories he was told of Rose and who she was firmly rooted the first two Roses as part of the real Rose’s identity.

This Rose is foreign, because nowhere in those narratives did Steven think it possible to for her to do the things he learned she did.

And in that moment he begins to doubt.

Because he can no longer see the image of his mother, he doesn’t know where he himself stands. A huge part of his identity is being Rose’s son. What happens when the “Rose” part becomes fuzzy, blurry, and unintelligible?

What happens to the Steven?

Notice that this Rose is silent. She offers no response to the accusations Steven hurls at her, about all the people she hurt and her act of leaving them all behind.

At this point, we see the part of Steven that understands Rose is gone. That he’s never going to get these answers and there won’t be an explanation coming from her.

There are some things he’ll never get to hear about, some memories he’ll never know, some experiences he’ll never share with her.

And it’s sad and disheartening and lonely. In losing his idea of Rose, Steven loses a part of his identity. Such that he felt it would be better if he denounced Rose, cutting off the part of himself he didn’t want to think about: That he was created just to fix her mistakes.

It’s then that we see Rose’s face for the first time since we’ve entered the paradigm of Rose-through-Steven’s eyes. Not Greg’s, not the Crystal Gem’s. Because these new things he’s learned about Rose are things the others would never have known without him. How else would they have heard the Diamond’s song of mourning? How would they have known Bismuth was there all along?

And the things Rose said in the tape were meant for Steven, in a space only Steven could find.

The Rose speaking to Steven at the end is the Rose who’s already spoken to Steven directly before, through the tape.

A lot of negative reaction has been given to this moment, because it feels as though the tape absolves Rose of everything she’s done. It doesn’t and I don’t feel that was the point.

The point of her saying that, was to reaffirm Steven’s belief in Steven. To show that it wasn’t about Rose anymore, that Steven’s birth wasn’t about Rose but about him.

And it’s striking that’s the only time we see her face again. Because immediately after, Steven hugs her, and her face is obscured.

That’s Steven’s recognition that he’s never going to hear any other words straight from his mother for him. He understands and he realises that nonetheless, Rose is exerting a presence in his life. He really is always with her and never alone.

The past few episodes and everything leading up to them were about Steven’s realising his mother was still an individual, one who could made mistakes and rash, selfish decisions.

He was afraid that upon realising his mother could be a selfish individual, could do huge selfish things that affected thousands of lives, he feared the act of his birth, the most personal thing about him, was meant to serve her self-interests alone too. He needed a concrete and tangible answer, which was what prompted him to go to the room.

At the end of the episode, he didn’t think that anymore. He knows he has a lot of work ahead in figuring out Rose’s place in his life, but the lingering doubt of the very foundation of his existence is gone.

And because of that, he finally feels comfortable letting her go.

i found this post in my drafts and have ZERO memory of writing it (thank u alcohol) so im gonna put it in my queue lol
  • ok but imagine
  • Bitty comes out to his parents but he doesn’t tell them about Jack, thinks it’s for the best, maybe to ease his parents into things or maybe to keep the pool of People Who Know as small as possible
  • and like yeah Ransom and Holster are super oblivious but Suzanne Bittle is not, not when it comes to her son, because she is a certified Nosy Southern Mother and she can see he’s been acting differently, happier but quieter, always on his phone and blushing when she asks about boys

  • Jack’s one of his best friends and he’s just started his NHL career, so of course Bitty’s never gonna shut up about Jack

When he was 3 years old, he watched in amazement as the big truck pulled up to the curb of the suburban neighborhood he called home. With his nose pressed against the glass he watched two men step out of the truck and start unloading boxes onto the driveway. The simple action fascinated him for reasons he couldn’t explain.

The sun caught the exterior of the bright red minivan that pulled into the driveway, causing him to squint. He couldn’t believe his eyes when a girl hopped out of the backseat.

“Woah.” He mumbled against the glass, his hot breath causing it to fog up. Quickly wiping it away, he watched as she danced around the lawn while the rest of her family started moving boxes. Her pigtails bounced behind her as she ran around.

“Stiles? What are you doing?” His dad asked curiously. Before he could answer, his father noticed the moving truck and family moving in across the street. “Wanna go say hi?” His father offered, placing a hand on the small boy’s shoulder. Nodding furiously, he smiled up at his father.

Earned It- Loki One Shot

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Prompt: When Thor brings Loki to stay with the Avengers, the team decides to prove just how much the God of Mischief has changed by assigning you to earn his trust; but you end up earning more than that. NO RAGNAROK SPOILERS!

Word Count: 3700

A/N: Ok so I saw Thor Ragnarok when it first came out and I absolutely loved it. For some reason, I fell in love with Loki. Not gonna lie, I feel like Loki deserves redemption and the MCU is not giving him that at all (which is why I disliked him in previous movies). Before Ragnarok, I only liked Loki because he was funny and Tom Hiddleston is beautiful. So, yeah, with this new found love for Loki, I have decided to expand my characters by adding him to the list of people I will write of. Fair warning: this is not a good imagine at all.

~~~
“But why me?” You let out an exasperated whine, “He knows me the least.”
“It’s not just that.” Steve nodded, “You weren’t there when he tried taking over the world, so you’re the best candidate.”
“So what? I’m chosen just because he’s never tried to kill me directly before?”
“Basically. Plus, you’re a hot, young girl that Loki would totally mess with.” Tony added, making Natasha hit him over the back of his head and you roll your eyes. “I’m just saying that you have more assets than I do when it comes to gaining the God of Mischief’s trust.”
“Thanks, Tony.” You replied in a flat tone.
“Will you do it, Y/N? It’s the best way to see if he has changed and if we can actually trust him.” Steve said.
“If I’m our only hope, then sure, but, I swear, if Loki tries anything on me, Thor, you will no longer have a brother.”
“Get in line.” Clint laughed dryly.
“Yeah, you’ll have to wait your turn for that.” Bruce said.
“Hey, now, no one will be killing my brother. He has changed.” Thor said. When the mighty God of Thunder first approached the Avengers about his brother staying in the compound with them, they were all quick to say no. Thor then went into detail about Loki’s redeeming actions while his brother walked into the room. After putting away their drawn weapons, Tony locked Loki in one of the cells, so that the team could discuss the issue at hand. That’s when Tony, Natasha, and Steve came up with the brilliant idea of using you as bait. You, the newest Avenger that has never even formally met Loki before, were chosen as the person to draw him out. You would somehow gain his trust and learn whether or not he has truly changed. If he never trusted you, then he was the same Loki as years ago; if he trusted you, then he had changed.
With your decision made, the Avengers left their meeting room to the cells. You all stood before Loki as he beamed mischievously at the sight before him. Tony opened the cell up and allowed the God to step out.
“Alright, reindeer games, we’ve got some rules that you must comply to- if you are to stay here.” Tony stated.
“Ah, rules- don’t you just love them and the chaos they bring?” Loki replied and Steve scolded Natasha as she began to curl her fists.
“Look,” Steve said, stepping up, “You’re not allowed to leave the compound unless one of us agrees to go with you; you cannot create any chaos inside or outside of the compound; you’re not allowed anywhere near the ships or weaponry-”
“I get it. I’m under house arrest. I’ve been in trouble before.” He stated, “Now, where is my bedroom? I’d like to catch up on some sleep.”
“Follow me, brother.” Thor said, leading Loki up the stairs as everyone dismantled from their protective stances. You watched as the two brother headed up the spiral staircase and you caught how Loki peered over his shoulder at you. You were quick to turn your head and invest yourself in a conversation with Steve.
~~~

That night, Loki did not come downstairs for dinner. Thor offered to take him a plate, but you insisted on doing it- that way, you could introduce yourself properly to him. Thor, knowing your intentions well, allowed you to take his place in serving his brother. You stood outside of Loki’s room and knocked lightly on the door, holding his plate of food with the other hand.

“Come in.” Loki said dryly. You slowly opened the door to find him sitting on his bed with a disinterested look in his eyes.

“I brought you dinner.” You gestured to the plate of steak and potatoes.

“I’m not hungry.” He replied and you shook your head with a laugh.

“You haven’t eaten all day. Please, eat this. Sam makes the best steaks.” You held it out to him and placed the book in his hands on his lap, before taking the plate.

“Sam?”

“Yeah, Sam, he’s the Falcon. He’s super cool and there are no steaks that compare to his- well, actually there’s a really nice restaurant in Upper Manhattan that has the best steaks. Sam’s are still amazing.”

“I’m dying to try it.” Loki replied sarcastically as he poked it with his fork.

“I’m Y/N, by the way.” You said, holding a hand out to him.

“Loki, but you already knew that.” He shook your hand almost timidly. He felt that there was something off about you- why were you so kind compared to the others? He expected Thor to be the only one to treat him as a normal person- not some random Midgardian that he’s never met.

“What book are you reading?”

“Excuse me?” Loki asked and you nodded toward the stray book on his bed. “It’s just a story my mother used to tell me. It’s a part of Norse mythology, as you humans call it.”

“It sounds interesting. I’ve always enjoyed learning about mythology.” You said, genuinely.

“Well, as good of a book it is, it does get boring after a while. I should have brought more books with me.”

“You know, Loki, we’ve got a library.”

“A library?” Loki asked, his whole stance perking up at the word.

“Yeah, I’d offer to show you it tonight, but I’ve got dishes to do. I’ll show it to you tomorrow.” You paused and then nodded, “I’ll see you later then. Good night, Loki.”

“Good night, YN.” Loki replied as you quickly retreated from his room. He looked at the plate in his hands and set it on his bedside table. He picked up his book and began to read it once more. He couldn’t help but think about you and how you were so intriguing to him. As much as he’d appreciate you showing him the library tomorrow, Loki got up and made it his mission to find the library on his own.

~~~
The next day, you went to find Loki in his room, but found that it was empty. You then decided that the library would be the next best place to look, knowing that he had shown a level of interest in it. You found him as expected; he was comfortably lounging in a chair with his nose stuck in a different book.
“I see you found Steve’s Shakespeare.” You said with a short laugh. Loki jumped, startled at your sudden presence. He lowered the book and looked over at you as you stood in between two shelves.
“It is quite entertaining to read.” He replied, glancing down at Macbeth in his hands.
“I know. It’s one of my favorite Shakespeare plays.” You nodded.
“If you’ll forgive me, I’d like to continue it.”
“I’ll be quiet, but I want to do some reading of my own.” You replied. You searched in the shelves for a book as Loki continued his reading.
This happened once everyday for the next two weeks. You would enter the library to read in peace, and Loki would already be sitting at a chair by the fire with a different book in his hand than the day before. You would both make small talk for a few minutes when you arrived. You felt, over this time period, that your feelings for the God were growing, and growing romantic. You also felt that there had been no progress on your part- Loki still treated you as if you were just another Avenger, as if you were on the same level as his brother for trust.
“Just give it some more time.” Natasha told you as you complained to her in her room.
“Time won’t do anything, Nat. Nothing is working. We just sit in a library and read as communication.” You let out an exasperated sigh and she shrugged. You watched as she focused on painting her toenails a light shade of purple almost more than she focused on your complaints.
“At least he bears being in the same room as you. He makes every meal incredibly awkward.” She replied. You remembered back to just this morning- Loki was silent, like he always was, and, as soon as he finished eating, he left the room. His presence filled the entire room with tension.
“That’s one thing, though.” You huffed.
“Aren’t you usually reading by now?” Natasha asked, peering at the clock on her wall.
“I’m quitting this mission. It’s stupid and it’s pointless. The guy has been here for two weeks and he’s done nothing. Isn’t that reason enough to trust him?”
“Look who you’re talking to and think who you’re talking about- guess again.” Natasha laughed. She had been on so many missions where she was undercovers for weeks, and Loki most likely had no problem with committing to fooling someone for long periods of time.
“That doesn’t matter. What I mean to say is this whole idea is corrupt and I’m done with it.”
“Corrupt? As in it isn’t good on Loki?”
“That’s not what I-”
“Ohhhh,” Natasha let out sinister laugh followed by a knowing smirk, “You like him, don’t you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” You tried to defend yourself.
“Sweetheart, you can lie to yourself and to him all you want, but you cannot lie to me. You are totally into him!”
“Fine, so what if I am? Why are you so happy about it?” You asked, referring to her blatant hatred of him.
“I don’t agree with you, but I think you liking him is cute. Maybe you could end up changing him.” She shrugged hopefully, “Plus, if he hurts you, it gives me even more motivation to kill him.”
“Like you need anymore of that.” You said, making her chuckle.
“Fine, if you’re giving up this mission, then you can go make me a sandwich. I’m starving.” Natasha said and you playfully rolled your eyes at her.
“Turkey or ham?” You asked as you headed towards her bedroom door.
“Turkey please!” She called from her spot.
You left her room and went straight to the kitchen to make up her snack. You finished her sandwich and then decided to make one for yourself. Just as you were about to top off your own with the final piece of bread, you heard a voice, announcing the presence of someone else in the room.
“Could you make me one too, please?” It was Loki and the sincerity in his voice was something almost unusual. He seemed quieter and mellower in his demeanor today.
“Would you like turkey or ham?” You asked as he stepped into the kitchen completely and began to watch you work.
“Either will be fine.” He said, “You didn’t come to the library today.”
“Oh, you noticed that.” You stated, awkwardly fumbling with the sliced meat before you.
“Why, yes, I did.” Loki stated, taking a cautious step towards you, “I do notice when the one person who does not alienate me leaves me alone.” You turned to him to see him being completely genuine- his soft eyes telling you everything. He looked away and took the sandwich from your hands, “Pardon my directness.” He left the room with the sandwich and without another word.
You sighed at his retreating figure. Maybe you shouldn’t quit- at least not yet. He had shown some feeling in that moment; he had shown that he cared about you. You wouldn’t jump to saying he thought of you in a romantic way like you thought of him, but you could conclude that he felt connected to you.
You took the last two sandwiches to Natasha’s room. You dared not speak of the recent events to her. She munched happily on her sandwich as you two watched reality shows and as he toes dried.
~~~

The next day was completely lovely. The sky was blue and the leaves were in the middle of changing colors. You absolutely loved it and you figured Loli would too. You quietly entered the library and saw him exactly where you had planned to: sitting in that same arm chair with yet another book.

“Loki,” You said, making your presence known to him. He peered over his book at you and offered a smile, “I was wondering if you’d like to go outside- since, you know, you’ve kind of lived in this room for the past couple of weeks.”

“Outside? You would accompany me outside?” He asked, completely thrown off by your question.

“Yes. It’s a beautiful day. I was going to visit the park and I thought that you might like to join me.” You explained yourself.

“I would like that.” Loki said. He set the book on the table and stood up. Using his magic, he changed his clothes from Asgardian wear to Midgardian casual attire. You smiled at him, admiring his change.

You took Loki to the nearest park, much to the dismay of some of your fellow teammates. Thor offered to tag along, but Natasha quickly shut that down. Thor was far too recognizable and anyone could recognize Loki if they had seen his brother. You were pleased about introducing Loki to feeding the ducks with the few pieces of bread that you had smuggled from the compound. From what you could tell, he enjoyed it. It was the simplest thing, yet it displayed Loki’s humaneness in such a strong way. He never really stopped genuinely smiling while at the park and all of it was because of you.

~~~
Loki was pacing around in his room the next day, rehearsing how he should ask you out. He wanted to take you to that restaurant that served the steak you loved, but he didn’t know how Midgardian dating worked.
“Brother!” Thor greeted, walking into Loki’s room unannounced and startling him.
“Thor, have you forgotten how to knock?” He asked with a sigh.
“I heard you pacing. Is anything on your mind?”
“Why would anything be on my mind? I’m fine.” His reply was defensive as he attempted to conceal his emotions. As the God of Mischief, he is normally much better at it, but his feelings for you had grown too great for him to easily cope with.
“Does this have anything to do with Lady Y/N?” Thor inquired.
“What are you on about, brother? This has nothing to do with her. Nothing is wrong.” Loki stated.
“Whatever you say, I shall believe, but I do think you should ask her sooner than later. Unlike us, Lady Y/N does not have thousands of years.” He spoke with a calm smile.
“Is that all?”
“Well, I was originally sent to ask if you were joining us for dinner, so will you?”
“It depends if I am hungry or not. You can leave now, Thor.” Loki said and his brother exited with his hands up in surrender. Loki looked at himself in the mirror and cast an illusion so that he was in casual clothing for the second day in a row. He left his room and headed straight to yours. As he was about to knock, he realized your door was cracked open and that you were speaking to someone in your room.
“I’m actually glad I didn’t quit.”
“I’m glad you didn’t, too.” Natasha said, “It seems to be working.”
“I learned from the best.” You laughed, referring to your best friend before you.
“Do you think he’s changed?”
“I think Loki has.” He froze hearing you mention his name. His heart hammered in his chest, “He seems kinder and gentler. I still feel bad though. A part of me wishes I gave up, but a part of me is proud that I’m going through with this mission.”
‘Mission?’ Loki thought. He felt a stinging pain build up in his heart. No, it couldn’t be. He was the God of Mischief. There was no way you, a mere Midgardian, could have tricked him- and there was no way you could have tricked him into falling in love with you.
“Going undercover is hard, but you have done it well, even if your target was the God of Mischief.” Natasha replied proudly. Loki heard you two come closer to the door, but he wasn’t quick enough to move. His feet were planted in that moment- replaying your words in his head. As you opened the door to reveal him, he used his magic to transform him back to his Asgardian self.
“Loki-“ you started. Natasha looked at you with concern, knowing fully well that he had heard the two of you.
“Don’t.” Loki spoke with a firm shake of his head. The smile that you had grown fond of over the past few weeks was completely gone. “Congratulations, you succeeded in fooling the God of Mischief.” He sarcastically raised his hands and did a partial bow for you, before he left without another word.
You watched his retreating figure in pain. You had never wanted to hurt him- that was never the plan, but, yet again, falling in love with the trickster was never a part of the plan either. You started to walk in the direction of his room when Natasha caught your hand.
“Y/N,” she sighed, “Leave him be for a bit. C’mon, we should tell the others.” Agreeing with her, you quietly followed her down the hall to the lab, opposite of Loki’s direction.
~~~

“Well, this is-“ Tony started after taking a deep breath, but was cut off by Steve.

“Bad. This is bad.” He stated. You could feel all of their eyes watching you, as you kept your eyes focused on the ground beneath you. “Thor, what do you suggest we do?”

“I do not know.” The God replied, “I have never seen my brother act the way he was with Y/N before. He showed a whole different level of respect and compassion for her-“

“Could it be that he was playing her as well?” Clint asked.

“No.” Thor shook his head, “Loki is mischievous and he is great at pretending, but not like this. I have never seen him so vulnerable.”

“You think he actually loves her?”

“I don’t know if I would call it love quite yet, but I do believe it could have become that.”

“Should I talk to him?” You asked quietly. Guilt and pain was all you could feel. Loki was upset with you, and, now, Thor believed you to have broken his heart.

“Maybe I shall speak with him first, Lady Y/N.” Thor said. “I know my brother best and I fear he is too unpredictable at the moment.”

“Very well then. Thor, go see him.” Natasha stated and he nodded. The room was silent as all of you watched Thor leave the room.

Thor entered Loki’s room to find his brother casually sitting on his bed, a book in his hand. Loki lowered the book and looked at the other God. He answered, “Yes?”

“Do you love her?” Thor asked.

“That mortal? Please.” Loki said, rolling his eyes lightly.

“Loki, drop this act. Do you love her?” He asked again. Thor stepped into the room and a bright gold burst came from the room as Loki’s magic disappeared. The seemingly normal bedroom was an illusion and shifted into the remains of a bedroom. The bed was torn apart with the mattress falling into the wall; the opposite wall had a few fist holes in it; and the bedside table was smashed, bits of it splattered around the room. Loki sat in the far corner and lifted his head from hands.

“See for yourself, brother.” Loki said, slowly looking up at the other God. His eyes were red and his hair was a mess from his recent angry motions.

“Loki-“ Thor was speechless. He had never seen his brother so broken and hurt. The last time Thor walked in on Loki in a state like this was when their mother died; and, now, Loki was broken once more.

“Surprised? This is what one look like when they are upset.” He stated.

“This is far more than upset.”

“It’s against my nature to call myself heartbroken.”

“Y/N would like to speak with you.”

“And I would not like to speak with her, or anyone for that matter, so, brother, you may leave now.”

“I will not leave you here to swallow yourself into a hole of despair.” Thor said as Loki stood.

“Despair? How would you feel if the mortal you loved betrayed you? How would you feel if you loved her and she had been lying to you this whole time?” His voice raised in anger.

“You have it all wrong, brother. Y/N has not betrayed you.”

“Leave! You know nothing of her lies!” He stepped towards his brother and Thor straightened up to his full height, preparing for any violence that may come.

“Loki,” You spoke from the doorway. Both Gods turned to you in surprise and Loki’s heavy breathing seemed to calm.

“Lady Y/N-” Thor started.

“I’d like to speak to Loki alone.” You said. The blond looked between the two of you and then left the room without another word.

“I do not wish to speak to you right now.” Loki turned his back to you and you took in his destroyed room. You sighed softly and stepped towards him.

“Please, allow me to explain myself.”

“I don’t need any further explanation. I understand your actions- you don’t trust me, none of you do.” He stated with a firm shake of his head, making you stop in your tracks.

“Loki, I can’t speak for the others, but I trust you. What I did was wrong, but I was doing what was best for the team. They wanted me to earn your trust-”

“Well, you earned more than that. Congratulations.” He said.

“If it is love that you’re speaking of, then I feel it too.” You replied and he slowly turned to you.

“Pardon me?” Loki questioned and you continued your walk to him until you were directly in front of the God.

“I love you, Loki, and I’m so sorry that I made you feel betrayed. It was never my intentions.”

“Is this the truth?” He asked and you delicately took his hands in yours. You nodded, causing a grin to form on his face. He leaned down to kiss you softly. He pulled away and whispered to you, “Good. I love you too, and it frightens me.”

“I’ll never lie to you again.”

The Game (Ethan Dolan)

Ethan Dolan was the boy your mother warned you about. He was the bad boy who could lure you in with a single smile. Of course nobody listened to their mother and fell for him anyways. He got what he wanted and then moved on to the next one. I was probably the only one who listened to my mother, and Ethan hated that. I swore to myself I wouldn’t fall for his games, but boy did he try! Grayson was my best friend so every time I went over to their place Ethan was there trying to win me over with his pretty boy charm.

“Gray, I’m here to help you.” I yelled as I entered their apartment.

Grayson texted me this morning asking me to come over and help him edit the new video for their youtube channel. Of course I accepted even though that meant I’d have to deal with Ethan. It wasn’t that I hated Ethan, well never mind I totally hated him.

“I’ve got a problem, can you help me?” Ethan asked suddenly appearing behind me.

I rolled my eyes trying to ignore the obnoxious boy.

“Grayson!” I called again.

“He’s at the warehouse." Ethan said.

I went to walk out of the door but Ethan grabbed my arm.

"He didn’t exactly invite you over today.” He said with that stupid playboy smirk on his face.

“you’ve got to be kidding me.” I groaned feeling the steam come out of my ears.

“I used his phone to text you because I knew you wouldn’t accept my invite but you would accept Grayson’s." Ethan said.

"okay, I’m out of here.” I said rolling my eyes trying to walk away again.

Ethan ran in front of me blocking me from leaving.

“Now that you here why don’t you hang out with me? I mean what could be better than hanging out with Ethan Dolan?” He scoffed fixing the collar of his shirt.

“I could think of a million things better than hanging out with you.” I said crossing my arms over my chest.

Ethan chuckled before flashing his smile. I’ll have to admit his smile was breathtaking that’s probably why all the girls fell for it. I mentally scolded myself for thinking this way.

“Come on Y/N we both know you don’t mean that." Ethan smirked.

"Yes I do now move.” I said getting annoyed now.

“make me move.” He smirked.

“How about I just punch you instead?” I asked putting my hands on my hips.

“feisty, I like it.” He smirked.

“Y/N?”

I turned around relieved to see Grayson who was looking rather confused.

“what are you doing here?” He asked giving me a hug.

“your brother messaged me from your phone saying you needed my help with editing.” I said rolling my eyes.

“guilty.” Ethan smirked.

Grayson rolled his eyes checking his phone.

“don’t worry, I’ll put a lock on my phone so that doesn’t happen again.” Grayson said ignoring Ethan.

“oh come on Gray it was a harmless gesture. I just wanted to hang out with a beautiful girl.” Ethan said raising his hands in defense.

“well now that you’re here want to hang out with just me?” Grayson asked making sure to emphasize the just him part.

I nodded my head following him to his room. Thankfully Ethan got the hint and didn’t follow us.

“I’m sorry about him.” Grayson said turning on Netflix.

“It’s fine Gray, really.” I said shrugging my shoulders.

“He makes me so mad sometimes. He gets all the girls and then he treats them like crap. He’s stolen all of my girlfriends, and now girls only talk to me to get closer to E. Even worse I feel like people only come to our channel for Ethan.” Grayson confessed.

“I hope you know I’m not like that G. I like hanging out with you, just you. Besides the Dolan twins would be nothing without you I mean it’s not called the Ethan Dolan channel.” I said giving him a smile.

“I know, and you have no idea how much you rock for that.” He said giving me a hug.

“so Hawaiian pizza and Netflix?” I asked giving him a smile.

“would we be best friends if we did anything else?” He asked laughing.

Grayson and I watched Netflix and ate pizza for a couple hours before I decided to go home. I gave Grayson a hug before walking out of his bedroom. Ethan sat on the couch with his tongue down some girls throat.

“get a room.” I scoffed covering my eyes.

I heard Ethan laughing as he pulled away from the girl.

“why you jealous?” Ethan asked.

“as if.” I scoffed.

“who’s she?” the girl spoke up.

“oh just some girl who has a huge crush on me but I turned her down.” Ethan told the girl.

“please like you could handle me?” I sassed putting my hands on my hips.

“is that a challenge?” Ethan asked standing in front of me.

Ethan was unbelievably attractive which made me hate him even more. We stared each other down. I wasn’t going to fall in to his trap.

“uh Ethan?” the girl spoke up from the couch.

“not now Natalie.” Ethan said.

“It’s Naomi.” She scoffed.

“I don’t care.” He sassed back.

“You’re pathetic.” I said rolling my eyes at him.

“ouch babe that hurt.” He said putting a hand over his heart.

“congratulations you have a dick, doesn’t mean you have to act like one.” I said glaring at him.

“if I wanted a bitch, I would’ve bought a dog.” Ethan sassed back.

“I’m sorry, was I meant to be offended? The only thing that really irks me is your face.” I said glaring directly at him.

“You’re just jealous because I have a line of girls waiting to be with me.” He said very confidently.

I looked over at Naomi who was just staring uncomfortably.

“Naomi, is it? You might want to get out now, Ethan here thinks it’s cool to break hearts and he feels no remorse about it. He’s a player, and you’re better off without him." I said looking at the girl.

Naomi looked at me and then at Ethan.

"wow clearly you two have some unresolved chemistry, I’m just going to go, bye Ethan.” Naomi said before leaving.

I rolled my eyes. Unresolved chemistry my ass!

“and that’s my cue to leave.” I said walking towards the door but again Ethan stopped me.

“I’m a player huh?” He asked like he didn’t already know.

“you didn’t know, not surprising.” I said rolling my eyes.

“well then, If I’m such a player than let’s play a game. Let’s sweet talk, let’s play fight, let’s talk 24/7, let’s tell each other good morning and goodnight everyday, let’s give each other nicknames, let’s flirt, let’s cuddle, let’s go on dates, let’s hug and kiss, and the first one that falls in love with the other person loses.” Ethan proposed.

I didn’t even have to think about it before answering.

“no way in hell am I doing any of that with you.” I growled.

“why? afraid you’re going to fall in love with me?” He smirked.

Ethan Dolan was not afraid to push my buttons and honestly it was kind of hot. WAIT WHAT ARE YOU SAYING YOU HATE HIM!

“please, the only person falling in love will be you with me.” I said getting in his face.

“then I guess it’s on.” He said getting back in my face.

“oh it’s on, and when you fall in love with me I can’t wait to break your heart and give you a taste of your own medicine.” I seethed.

What in the hell was I agreeing too? Ethan knew that making me mad would work that little asshole! Ethan bit his lip looking at me. Suddenly he put his lips on mine kissing me. I quickly pushed him off giving him a what the hell look.

“I said let’s hug and kiss, you know unless my kissing affects you that much.” He said confidently.

I grabbed the back of his head smashing his lips on mine. He was surprised at first but kissed me back. He licked my lip asking for entrance but I didn’t allow it. Ethan grabbed my butt squeezing it making me gasp. He took that time to slip his tongue in my mouth. Our tongues fought for dominance and surprisingly mine won. I backed Ethan up until he was forced to sit on the couch. I straddled his lap not breaking our kiss. I could feel him growing harder underneath me as I was grinding on his lap. He went to kiss me deeper but I pulled away leaving him wanting more. I got off of his lap now fully seeing how turned on he was.

“oops, did I do that.” I smirked pointing to Ethan’s growing erection.

He rolled his eyes grabbing a pillow to cover his crotch.

“please, you don’t affect me at all.” Ethan said.

“that says otherwise.” I said grabbing the pillow he was using to cover up how turned on he really was.

He rolled his eyes glaring at me.

“It’s okay, two can play at this game.” He smirked.

“what the hell does that mean?” I asked.

“oh you’ll find out pretty girl. I can’t wait to win this game.” He said standing up.

“well you won’t win so keep on dreaming.” I said glaring at him.

I walked towards the door opening it, waiting for Ethan to say something else but he didn’t. I turned around giving him an annoyed look.

“what no annoying comments?” I asked.

“you’re cute.” Ethan said giving me a smile.

I scoffed rolling my eyes before walking out the door. The worst part was, I felt my heart racing at his words. An that smile, god that smile killed me. I drove home trying to get my mind off of Ethan Dolan. I lied awake fantasizing about his perfect lips. Ethan may be the biggest douche bag to walk this planet but I can’t say he isn’t good at what he does. His lips fit mine so perfectly, it drove me crazy. I woke up the next morning with a text from Ethan.

Ethan: good morning my beautiful princess <3

: your princess? baby boy I don’t belong to anyone.

Ethan: How’d you sleep? Have any dreams about me?

: ha you wish. I didn’t think about you at all, why were you thinking about me?

of course I wouldn’t admit to Ethan that I was up all night thinking about him. His ego is already inflated enough.

Ethan: how could I not think about you? You’re incredibly beautiful and everything I’ve ever wanted in a girl.

I could feel the breath hitch in my throat. Nobody had ever said something that nice too me. I keep forgetting who were talking about here, it’s Ethan Dolan he probably says that to every girl he talks too. Why wasn’t he sassing me back though? It was no fun unless he reacted to it. So many thoughts were swirling in my mind that I realized I hadn’t answered his text.

:how many times have you used that line on a girl.

Ethan: You’re cute when you’re fighting my affection. So ready for our date today?

: date? since when do we have a date?

Ethan: since that was part of the game remember? Don’t worry I already planned everything out, just make sure you wear something casual.

I didn’t know why but a small smile formed on my face as I thought of Ethan planning a date for us.

: ugh fine, when should I be ready?

Ethan: that’s the spirit, and I’ll pick you up in an hour!

I rolled my eyes putting down my phone. What was I getting myself into? I looked through my clothes trying on a couple different outfits. If I were hanging out with Grayson I would just throw on a sweatshirt and some sweatpants. Why was I trying so hard? Since when did I care what Ethan thought about me? Eventually I settled for some white skinny jeans and a black and white crop top with sandals. I finished my look with some light makeup and added a black bow in my hair. My phone lit up with a text from Grayson.

Grayson: hey want to hang out today? Ethan won’t be here, he’s taking some poor girl on a date.“

I felt bad. I was probably the only girl that Grayson talked to anymore and here I was going behind his back with his twin brother.

: sorry Gray, I have plans but maybe later?

Grayson: yeah that sounds great! I’ll message you later!

I was about to respond when there was a knock on my door. I opened it to reveal a smiling Ethan. He was holding a single rose.

"for you princess.” He said handing me the rose.

I rolled my eyes muttering a thank you. Damn he was really trying. I walked over to my kitchen putting the rose in a vase of water. I was trying not to stare at Ethan but I couldn't deny he looked good. He wore ripped skinny jeans, a fitted t-shirt and his black vans.

“alright let’s just get today over with.” I said blowing a piece of hair from my face.

Ethan smiled extending his hand for me to take. I gave him a look.

“the game is to act like a couple, and couples hold hands.” He said grabbing my hand an intertwining our fingers.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t like it even a little bit. He opened my car door waiting for me to get in. Before he let go of my hand he placed a light kiss on it making me blush ever so slightly. He got in the car starting it up.

“so where are we going on this date, that is totally not a date.” I asked glancing over at him.

“well one it is a date and two it's a surprise.” He said not taking his eyes off the road.

“It’s not a date and I hate surprises.” I muttered.

“It is a date and trust me you’ll like this one.” He said smiling.

I sighed looking out the window. After a couple of minutes of just silence I felt Ethan grab my hand again intertwining our fingers.

“you look beautiful today, but you look beautiful everyday.” He said finally glancing at me.

Wow. Reading that in a text is one thing, but the words actually coming out of Ethan’s mouth made my heart race. I couldn’t fall for him, and I definitely wasn’t losing this game. I mean that’s what this was all about after all.

“You don’t look too bad yourself Ethan. In fact as soon as I saw you in my doorway I was thinking some impure thoughts.” I purred.

Ethan’s grip on the steering wheel got tighter as he bit his lip. I laughed to myself Y/N one, Ethan zero. I wasn’t done pushing it though. I removed my hand from his and placed it on his thigh. I started rubbing it ever so slightly making him shiver. Ethan gave me a look and honestly I was dying to know what was going on in his head right now.

“you’re trying to kill me Y/N.” Ethan breathed.

“oops.” I smirked moving my hand off his thigh.

He lets out a shaky breath making me laugh again. Ethan was making this too easy.

“and we’re here.” He said pulling the car into a parking lot.

I looked out at the pier surrounded by the beautiful water. I couldn’t fight the smile that appeared on my face. I hated him but he did know how to impress a girl.

“do you like it?” He asked.

I looked over at him and he was giving me a hopeful look.

“we’ll see.” I said smirking.

He got out of the car running over to my side and opening my door.

“so what are we doing here?” I asked looking at how beautiful the view was.

“well I thought we could take a boat out and have a picnic on the water.” Ethan said grabbing my hand once again.

I felt myself blushing. No one has ever put in this much effort to take me on a date before.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but that actually sounds like fun.” I said looking at him shyly.

“hold on did thee Y/N just compliment me? Hallelujah it’s a great day!” Ethan yelled earning strange looks from other people on the pier.

“don’t get used to it Dolan.” I said rolling my eyes.

He laughed before walking us down the pier. He held my hand the entire time. I looked up at him feeling my heart race again. Why do the bad boys always look so good? It wasn’t fair. I saw that Ethan was staring back at me.

“take a picture Dolan it will last longer.” I scoffed.

“you know what that’s a great idea.” He said taking his phone out and snapping a picture of me.

“I didn’t mean it literally.” I said laughing a little.

“well I need a picture to prove that angels truly exist.” He smirked bumping his shoulder into mine.

“ooh that was bad E, I thought you had better game than that.” I said laughing at him.

For once his flirting wasn’t annoying the crap out of me.

“oh baby this is just the beginning.” He said.

We arrived at the end of the pier where the boats were parked. Ethan got the boat keys out of his pocket before stepping into a cute little white boat. He held out his hand helping me in, but me being me tripped and fell. Before I could hit the ground I felt two strong arms wrap around me. I looked up to see Ethan smirking.

“looks like you’re already falling for me.” He joked.

I cracked up laughing as I steadied myself.

“now that was better.” I said still laughing.

“you know it’s been five minutes and you haven’t insulted me once.” He said starting up the boat.

“Hey Ethan?” I asked

“what?” He responded.

“you’re an idiot.” I said smirking at him.

“there she is, that’s the girl I know.” He laughed.

He pulled the boat away, speeding across the water. I sat there in silence letting the wind blow through my hair. It was actually kind of peaceful, you know if I wasn’t with Ethan. I couldn’t see any sign of land now, we were just surrounded by water and each other. Ethan stopped the boat just letting it float on the waves. He stared at me as I stared at the view.

“why do you keep doing that.” I asked looking at him.

“doing what?” He asked playing dumb.

“staring at me? and if you say it’s because you think I’m beautiful, I’m going to punch you.” I threatened.

Ethan laughed before looking at me again.

“I guess I’m just trying to figure you out, you’re different, not what I expected.” He said coming over and taking the seat beside me.

“I don’t like to do what people expect. Then they expect it all the time and are disappointed when you change.” I said shrugging my shoulders.

“so if you disappoint them from the start you’re covered.” He said laughing.

“yeah something like that.” I laughed along too.

“well then you screwed up.” Ethan said scooting closer to me.

“how?” I asked.

“well you’ve never disappointed me.” He said dangerously close to my face.

I didn’t know what I was doing, it’s as if I wasn’t in control of my body. Ethan leaned down placing his lips on mine and I let him. This kiss was just as good as the first one. This time however, I was the one licking his lip asking for entrance which of course he allowed. I don’t know what was coming over me but I couldn’t stop myself. Ethan gripped my hips bringing me closer to him. I shivered at his touch on my bare skin. I knew I had to stop this before it went any farther. I placed my hands on his chest pushing him back a little bit.

“we should eat, don’t want that food to go to waste.” I said slowing my breathing.

He nodded his head pulling out the picnic basket. Inside he had all my favorite foods. We ate in silence, the whole time Ethan just stared at me and I stared back at him. I couldn’t help but blush. To be honest, I’ve never even had a boyfriend before and certainly no one who put this much effort in to spending a day with me. I shouldn’t feel special though, I had to remember he was only good at what he does because he's had a lot of practice. I sighed and let my eyes wander out to the water. A pod of dolphins were swimming right near our boat.

“look dolphins!” I said rushing towards the side of the boat.

I watched the dolphins swim gracefully through the water. Ethan got up joining me too.

“wow it’s beautiful.” Ethan said admiring the sea creatures.

I looked over at Ethan, he looked like a little boy seeing something for the first time, for once he had real emotion behind his eyes. Suddenly a rough wave hit the side of the boat sending me straight in the water. I started to panic, I couldn’t swim. I struggled in the water before I felt myself slowly sinking.

“Y/N!” Ethan screamed.

 He ripped his shirt off before diving in the water. He grabbed me by my waist pulling my head above water.

“Ethan I can’t swim.” I cried out.

“It’s okay I got you.” He said swimming towards the boat.

Ethan pushed me back up on the boat before pulling himself up. He rushed over taking my face in his hands.

“are you okay.” He asked stroking my cheeks with his thumbs.

I coughed up a little bit of water before nodding my head slowly. I felt embarrassed.

“you scared the hell out of me do you know that?” Ethan said looking in my eyes.

I looked back in his eyes. They looked genuine, like he was really worried about me. Maybe I had him all wrong. Maybe he wasn’t the terrible person I made him out to be. Maybe I was the terrible person.

“I would’ve let me drown if I were you, from how mean I’ve been to you.” I said giving him a small smile, my voice still a little hoarse.

“what are you crazy? then I would have to start taking out girls who actually like me.” He joked sitting beside me.

“please like you could find any.” I said laying my head on his shoulder.

“see who needs affection when you have blind hatred.” He said wrapping an arm around me.

“you know I don’t actually hate you right?” I said lifting my head to look at him.

“honestly you could’ve fooled me.” He said looking down at me.

“I just think it isn’t fair that you make girls fall for you and then crush them by moving on to someone else. You know you can get any girl you want and you use that to your advantage.” I said honestly.

Ethan looked down at his feet like he was contemplating what I had just said.

“You’re right I am an asshole and a player but it’s only because I know what I want. I’m looking for something real and all the girls I’ve been with haven’t been real with me. They only want to be with me because they think I’m good looking, or because they like guys that are muscular, or because Gray and I are famous now. Nobody has ever liked me for me, so I feel like I have to put on this bad boy act to keep myself from getting hurt.” He admitted still looking down at the ground.

Wow. I didn’t think there was any depth to Ethan but here he was pouring his heart out to me.

“Ethan, I don’t know what to say.” I admitted looking at the boy.

“plus, I can’t get any girl I want. I want you and you seem to be quite the challenge.” He said smirking.

I rolled my eyes, gosh he was cheesy.

“I’m not an easy prize to be won Ethan Dolan you’ll have to try harder than that.” I said laughing.

“not everyone can be an expert at love Y/N.” He said looking at me.

I was the one looking at my feet now.

“actually, I’ve never even had a boyfriend.” I said looking up at his surprised face.

“wait you’re serious?” He said still in shock.

“Is it that surprising?” I asked suddenly feeling self conscious.

“well yeah, I mean you’re perfect. You’re beautiful, smart, and funny. Any guy would be crazy not to want to go out with you.” He said.

I could feel the heat return to my cheeks.

“do you really mean that Ethan, or are you just saying that to win the game?” I said laughing a little.

“I mean every single word."

He leaned down quickly pecking me on the lips. It was simple but I think that was my favorite kiss we shared only because it was full of raw emotion. Ethan and I just sat and talked for what felt like hours. We told each other embarrassing stories from when we were little and talked about our favorite things. I didn’t realize how late it had gotten until my phone lit up with a text from Grayson.

Grayson: are you done with your thing? I’m bored and need my best friend. Ethan hasn’t texted me either, it must be going well with the girl. Poor, stupid girl doesn’t know what she’s getting in to.

"oh no!” I said looking at my phone.

“what’s wrong?” Ethan asked.

“I told Grayson we could hang out later tonight.” I said.

Ethan looked out at the water clenching his jaw.

“so you and Grayson huh.” He said still looking at the water.

“why are you jealous?” I asked smirking.

“no, why would I be jealous. This is a game remember. I could care less who you talk too.” He snapped starting up the boat.

I was taken back. What happened to the sweet boy from a couple of seconds ago?

“clearly someone is on their period.” I said rolling my eyes.

“whatever.” Ethan growled.

We sat in silence the rest of the way back to the pier. He stopped the boat hopping out to the pier. He didn’t wait for me and started to walk away. I can’t believe how ignorant he was being! I jumped out of the boat nearly falling in the water again. I had to run down the pier to keep up with him. He got in the car slamming the door shut.

“what is your problem?” I snapped.

“I don’t have a problem.” He snapped back.

I rolled my eyes turning away from him. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I was starting to believe he wasn’t a complete asshole but he just ruined that. He took the turn to go to his house making me alarmed.

“where are you going?” I asked.

“to our house, you said your hanging out with Grayson.” He growled.

“No you have to take me home first, I can’t show up with you then he’ll know that you took me on a date.” I said turning towards him.

Ethan had a hard look in his eyes and he was still clenching his jaw.

“what don’t want to be seen with me?” Ethan snapped.

“actually no, I don’t.” I sassed back.

Ethan rolled his eyes before turning around and driving to my house. He pulled up at my house not saying anything. I gave him a look before getting out. He pulled away quickly speeding down the road. I quickly ran in changing my outfit, throwing one of the sweatshirts Grayson gave me over my head. I go back outside getting in my car and heading over to Grayson’s. I arrived shortly but Ethan’s car wasn’t there. I shrugged my shoulders getting out of the car and walking in the apartment.

“you’re here!” Grayson said running over to give me a hug.

I smiled returning his hug.

“how was your day?” He asked putting some popcorn in the microwave.

“I don’t know honestly.” I said shrugging my shoulders.

“how don’t you know?” He asked laughing.

“Grayson it’s so complicated I don’t even understand it.” I said joining in on his laughter.

He pulled out the popcorn, walking in to their living room. I followed him sitting on the couch.

“It’s your turn to pick a movie.” He said tossing me the remote.

I smiled at him scrolling through the Netflix movies.

“by the way nice sweatshirt.” He said throwing a piece of popcorn at me.

I scoffed before getting a piece and throwing it back at him. Soon Grayson and I had got in a huge food fight. Before I could throw another piece at him he tackled me off the couch on the floor. He was sitting on me while holding my arms above my head.

“get off of me you loser.” I laughed struggling under him.

“not until you say that I’m the greatest.” Grayson said laughing too.

Grayson and I just had a naturally playful relationship, but I didn’t see him as anything more than a friend and as far as I know he didn’t see me as anything more than a friend either.

“my mother told me to never tell a lie Dolan.” I smirked sticking my tongue out at him.

Grayson was about to respond when the front door slammed open. Ethan walked in followed by a girl I had never seen before.

“get a room.” He growled at me and Grayson.

Grayson got off of me giving me a hand up.

“who’s this?” Grayson asked gesturing towards the girl.

“Victoria.” Ethan said simply looking at me.

“It’s Vanessa.” She said giving Ethan a dirty look.

“oh well Hi Vanessa, Y/N and I are watching a movie out here.” Grayson said looking at Vanessa and then his twin.

“I love movies.” Vanessa said looking at Ethan.

“I guess we’re watching a movie then.” Ethan said.

I looked at Grayson rolling my eyes. The last thing I wanted was to watch Ethan stick his tongue down some other girls throat, like who the hell did he think he was. He was the sweetest person earlier and now he was bringing home some girl. I sound jealous, I am most definitely not jealous. I really need to stop.

“well it’s Y/N’s turn to pick a movie.” Grayson said sitting on the one side of the couch.

Ethan sat down pulling Vanessa in to his lap. I picked a random movie before sitting down beside Grayson.

“I’m sorry, this isn’t how I wanted tonight to go.” Grayson whispered in my ear for only me to hear.

I gave him a smile before laying my head on his shoulder. Grayson wrapped an arm around me pulling me closer to him.

“you really have to stop apologizing for your brothers stupidity.” I whispered before laughing.

Grayson busted out laughing making Ethan look over at us. I looked at him giving him a smirk. Suddenly Ethan grabbed Vanessa, kissing her roughly. She immediately kissed back starting a full blown make out session between the two. He was trying to make me jealous, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. I ignored him, giving all my attention to Grayson. Eventually the movie became something in the background, Grayson and I were making fun of each other and just telling silly jokes to make each other laugh.

“tell me Gray, how many times did your mom drop E on his head when he was a baby?” I asked giggling.

I doubt Ethan heard me seeing as he was too busy making out with Vanessa.

“oh, way too many times to count.” Grayson said making me laugh even more.

“I don’t think Vanessa is very smart either.” I joked looking at the girl.

“I’ve probably met rocks smarter than that girl. Plus she has to be pretty dumb to go out with Ethan.” Grayson said which caused another fit of laughter from the both of us.

“I mean he forgot her name, who sticks around after that!” I exclaimed.

“I don’t know, obviously Victoria.” He said.

I couldn’t stop laughing. Grayson was just that person that you couldn’t be upset when you were around him. I was truly thankful for that!

“I’ll be right back G.” I said getting up.

I went to the restroom using it quickly. I washed my hands before walking out. As soon as I opened the door Ethan was standing there with an angry look on his face.

“what’s so funny?” He asked.

I looked up at him smirking.

“wouldn’t you like to know?” I sassed.

He growled pushing me back in the bathroom before closing the door.

“How’s Victoria?” I asked purposefully getting her name wrong.

“she’s great, probably the best kisser I’ve ever met.” He said glaring at me.

“so that’s why you can’t remember her name right?” I smirked again.

He clenched his jaw, getting upset.

“look just stop flirting with Grayson, it’s getting annoying.” He growled looking at me.

“you’re not my boss, so I can do whatever I feel like. Besides you said yourself it’s just a game remember.” I growled back at him.

“why do you have to be so complicated?” He growled.

“Me? You’re the one that said all this stuff on our date and then started acting like a dick out of nowhere. Than you bring some stupid girl home and spend the whole time with your tongue down her throat, now if you’ll excuse me I’d like to get back to my friend!” I said pushing Ethan out of the way and exiting the bathroom.

Who the hell did he think he was? He couldn’t tell me what to do! Why was he acting like this? I sat back down next to Grayson still wrapping my head around everything.

“uh what happened to you?” Grayson asked looking at me.

I was about to respond when Ethan stormed in the room.

“I’m sorry Victoria, I need you to leave.” He said pointing to the door.

Grayson looked at me giving me a confused look. Vanessa got up stopping in front of Ethan. She slapped him hard on the cheek.

“It’s Vanessa, and by the way I was only with you because you’re famous!” She said before storming out of their apartment.

Ethan stood by the door breathing heavily.

“should I leave?” I asked Grayson who was staring at Ethan.

“No, wouldn’t want to ruin your date!” Ethan snapped.

Grayson and I looked at each other before busting up laughing making Ethan even angrier.

“Ethan we are not on a date. Y/N is my friend, we always have movie nights, but we aren’t on a date.” Grayson said looking at a dumbfounded Ethan.

“I really should head out Gray, it’s getting late. Goodbye Grayson.” I said standing up and giving him a hug.

I walked past Ethan giving him a smirk.

“goodnight Ethan.” I said giving a fake smile.

“why didn’t you tell me you didn’t like Grayson like that?” He whispered staring me down.

“you never asked. so next time instead of being jealous and turning into a gigantic asshole, just talk to me.” I said patting his arm.

I walked out of their apartment immediately pulling out my phone and sending a quick text to Ethan.

: you’re making winning this game too easy, better step up your game Dolan. I think I have a new name for you, Mr. I’m Jealous.

I laughed getting a quick response from Ethan.

Ethan: I wasn’t jealous.

: Sure Jan.

Ethan: I wasn’t!

: and I quote “stop flirting with Grayson, it’s getting annoying.”

Ethan: fine, I may have been a little jealous…

: a little?

Ethan: look I already admitted I was jealous.

: I know, I’m just having way too much fun with making you fall for me.

Ethan: you just wait darling, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that will have to begging to be my girlfriend.

: Sure Jan.

I laughed as I pulled in to my apartment complex. I stared at my phone waiting for Ethan to text back. I took a deep breath realizing what I was doing. You Like Him my subconscious screamed. I don’t like him! or do I? I can’t like him, he was no good for me, I would just end up getting my heart broken. But the way he saved you from drowning today, and he was so worried about you my subconscious argued making me scream. My phone lit up snapping me out of my thoughts. I ran over picking it up, hoping it was Ethan. wait what? I looked to see it was just Gray.

Grayson: what the hell was up with Ethan tonight?

: on his period probably?

Grayson: I mean he’s just never acted that way with a girl before. If I didn’t know any better I’d say Ethan likes you.

I nervously laughed looking at the text. I wanted to tell Grayson about the game and our date today but I knew he’d be really hurt.

: ha, that’s a good joke G.

Grayson: I know right? I’m shuddering at the thought of you and Ethan together!

I took a deep breath, would it really be so bad? I mentally scolded myself, I don’t even know who I am anymore!

: oh gosh me too that’s gross!

Grayson: well I’m glad you haven’t fallen for Ethan’s stupid game. I’ll text you tomorrow, got to get my beauty sleep! goodnight Y/N!

: goodnight G!

I didn’t get any sleep that night though. “I’m glad you haven’t fallen for Ethan’s stupid game.” replayed in my head and tormented me all night. I wasn’t sure if I did or not, I mean I agreed to his game but was I really falling for the boy I swore I never would fall for? I woke up to a loud knocking on my door making me groan. I got up quickly checking myself in the mirror before opening the door. Ethan stood their smiling and holding another rose.

“what are you doing here?” I asked stepping aside so he could come in.

“thought I’d come make you breakfast.” He said walking inside carrying a little bag.

“you want to make me breakfast?” I asked giving him a look.

“as an apology, you know for being such an ass last night.” He said sitting the bag on my kitchen counter.

“yeah, you were an ass last night.” I said stifling a laugh.

“I thought we got past this!” He said laughing a little too.

“it depends what are you making me for breakfast?” I asked hopping up and sitting on the counter.

“pancakes with fruit!” He said pulling the ingredients out of the bag.

“than I might just accept your apology.” I said laughing.

Ethan started making pancakes while making small talk. He was interrupted by his phone ringing.

“hey can you get that for me?” He asked looking at his messy hands.

I laughed picking up his phone and answering it.

“hello?” I said in the phone.

“Y/N?”  Grayson’s voice rang from the other end.

I mentally started to panic. I didn’t want Grayson to find out, at least not in this way!

“what are you doing with Ethan’s phone?” He asked accusingly.

come on Y/N think of plausible lie!

“he uh came over to apologize for last night and left his phone here.” I lied easily.

“oh, well when he realizes he’s missing it tell him to call me.” Grayson said thankfully buying my lie.

“will do Gray!” I said hoping to end the call.

“okay thanks, see you soon.” He said

“yeah, bye.” I said hanging up.

I sighed in relief looking up at Ethan who was now just staring at me.

“don’t give me that look, it’s complicated okay.” I said handing Ethan his phone.

“wasn’t going too.” He said smirking.

I sighed sitting back on the counter. I felt like a terrible friend.

“you didn’t even say anything about my lock screen.” Ethan said tossing me his phone.

I caught his phone hitting the home button. I blushed as I saw the picture he took of me on the pier as his background.

“It really is a cute picture.” He said taking the pancakes out of the skillet.

He put my pancake on a plate before handing it to me to decorate with fruit and whipped cream.

“you’re ridiculously cheesy do you know that?” I asked him laughing.

“but ridiculously cute too right?” He asked getting his pancake too.

I put all sorts of fruit on mine before grabbing the can of whip cream. I squeezed the top of it but nothing was coming out. I furiously shook it while holding down the button. Whip cream shot out of that can getting all over Ethan. I cracked up laughing looking at a whipped cream covered Ethan.

“come here babe.” He said reaching out for me.

“No!” I said running away from him.

Ethan chased me through the living room eventually trapping me.

“Ethan please it was an accident.” I said laughing.

“I just want a kiss babe.” Ethan said leaning in.

He kissed me getting whipped cream all over me too. I kissed him back, cupping his cheek with my hand even though it was covered in whip cream too. Ethan pulled away smiling at me.

“let’s get cleaned up and enjoy our pancakes.” He said smiling.

We wiped off all the whipped cream before sitting down with our pancakes.

“so why don’t you want Grayson to know you’re with me?” Ethan asked breaking the silence.

I took a deep breath looking at Ethan.

“don’t just tell me it’s complicated, explain to me why it’s complicated.” He said staring me down.

I didn’t know if I should tell him. I feel like that is something personal Grayson told me that I shouldn’t share with his twin.

“Grayson is my friend, and he feels that you steal a lot of what he has. He also feels like people only talk to him to get closer to you. It would hurt him to find out about this.” I said not being able to look at Ethan.

Ethan doesn’t respond immediately which makes me worried.

“I’m a bad brother.” Ethan says looking up at me.

“you’re not a bad brother, you just need to reconnect with him.” I said grabbing Ethan’s hand across the table.

“how do I do that?” Ethan asked.

“hang out with him, talk to him, let him know you’re still here for him.” I said giving him a smile.

“you’re incredible do you know that?” Ethan said smiling.

“and so are these pancakes.” I said taking another bite.

Ethan laughed finishing his pancakes as well. When we were done, Ethan helped me clean up the kitchen.

“I should probably call Grayson.” Ethan said putting the last plate away.

“yeah you should, and spend the day with him if you want, I’m not going anywhere.” I said smiling at him.

Ethan stared at me just smiling.

“you know after this game is over we might just be friends.” Ethan said pulling me in to a hug.

“in your dreams E.” I laughed hugging him back.

I didn’t want to be friends. I wanted to be so much more than that. I sighed as Ethan walked out of my apartment. He was winning this game, and honestly at this point I was letting him.

“Lost and found” - 13 thoughts on symbolism

So, I rewatched the first episode of season 13 and found fascinating symbolism. Some of this has already been talked about, but I think I found a couple of new symbols/imagery, too. Let’s start!

(Screenshots are all mine, please like or reblog if you want to save or use.)

1. Title card:

Many of you have already pointed out the reversed cross, which imo stands for Lucifer. The eye of the nephilim is the central piece here and it severely reminds me of the sun. The outline looks as if there are little sunflares. So the call sign sort of unites Lucifer, Jack and the sun=hope (and of course other meanings concerning the whole sun symbolism going on since forever on the show).

2. Dawn:

When Sam and Dean walk out of the house the sun has just come up over the mountain tops, illuminating the whole scenery and thereby providing hope. They could have shot this scene on a rainy day, to emphasise the desperate situation the brothers are in right now, but no: the sun is shining, not everything is lost. I also like the single ray of sunlight in the first picture. There’s hope, but the boys don’t see it yet.

Fun note: You can see a crew member’s reflection in one of the windows :-)

3. Jack and the rift:

I noticed an orange line on Jack’s chest, which seems to have the exact shape as the rift that led into apocalypse world. Maybe the key to thiat world (and the key to find Mary) can still be found within Jack. At least there appears to be some kind of connection.

4. Reflections during the car ride:

Not only are our boys reflecting about what just happened, you can notice reflections of the sun on Baby or in the camera during this scene. The reflection in the picture above struck me as special, because it’s when Sam asks Dean: “What about Cass?” and at that exact moment the sun’s reflection appears across and in front of Dean in rainbow colours (or mostly purple and blue as can be seen in the screenshot). Well, if that ain’t symbolic… or the luckiest coincidence ever ;-)

5. Sam the anchor:

During the whole scene in the fast food restaurant you can see the anchors from the label in the window (either directly or reflected) above Sam’s shoulders. Imo this means that Sam is everyone’s anchor this season. He’s Dean’s anchor during his grief, someone Dean can rely on and he’s also Jack’s anchor to this world, teaching him and having faith in him. I hope this kind of symbolism will come up in some future episodes, too!

6. Jack is light:

In this scene Jack is highlighted several times by the light coming from the two lamps and the barred window in the cell. I think this illustrates that Jack isn’t per se evil and can bring light into the darkness. Actually just like Lucifer “light bringer” (translation from Latin) was supposed to do at the beginning of time. In contrast to his father, I think Jack could actually achieve bringing the light to our world and humanity.

7. Jack’s t-shirt:

The shirt was the sheriff’s choice and she accidentally picked the right one (yeah, accidents don’t happen accidentally ;-) ). I was able to decipher the writing: “Don’t mess with the bull or you get the horns”. Meaning: Don’t mess with Jack, he can’t control his powers yet and you will regret being at the recieving end of those powers…

8. Light and shadow:

Jack is sitting on a bench completely illuminated by light. He represents the sun, light, hope and positivity. The boys in contrast are sitting in shadow. They don’t see the light yet, they are still in a dark place because of all the recent losses they had to suffer. There is also a distance between them and Jack that has yet to be crossed in order for light to come to the brothers.

9. The prayer:

In the prayer scene Dean walks behind the restaurant seeking privacy. The sun is clearly up in the sky, higlighting almost everything, but not Dean. The world has light and hope again (Lucifer is currently gone), but there’s no such thing for Dean after losing Cass, his mother and even Crowley.

And another interesting reflection of light appears: when Dean prays to get everyone back (especially Cass) we see a rainbow coloured reflection appearing next to him… ;-)

10. The picture in Kelly’s bedrom:

In this picture we can see a ship (standing for Destiel or the brothers or Team Free Will is open to interpretation) on a stormy sea. But there’s also light: some sunrays are breaking through the dark clouds, promising better weather after the storm. Apparently another hint that there’s still hope, even though it doesn’t really look like that for the Winchesters right now.

11. Cass’s deathbed:

Again the sun is shining brightly outside, but the inside of the house, especially the room with Cass’s corpse is dark in comparison. Imo this stands for Dean giving up any hope of seeing Cass again, there’s no silver lining for him to see.

12. The funeral:

This is literally the darkest hour for the Winchesters. They have to burn the bodies, one of them is Cass’s. It’s also sad for Jack, who has to watch his mother and chosen father burn on the funeral pyre. The day comes to a close, the sun goes down and darkness surrounds them all. Is there no hope now that they burn the bodies? No hope that Cass could return? Well, there’s always a new dawn the next day.

I also really liked the shot of Dean’s lighter, the flame has a halo which also reminded me of the sun.

13. Apocalypse world:

Isn’t that the curch from 8x23 “Sacrifice”?!!! Nice parallel. I also noticed that in this world, where Sam and Dean were never born, there is no sunshine. The sky is clouded and you can hear lightning strike all the time. There never was any hope for that world. But maybe Mary can bring some light into it, or even Sam and Dean, who knows?

Okay, that was a long post! Lots and lots of light/sun symbolism! Please share your own thoughts and ideas! :-)

Part Two | Part Three | Part Four

A small groan slipped from your lips, your body shifting on the plush red couch you were laying on. Your arms wrapped around the first thing it could, waking up being the last thing on your mind. Your face dug further into the soft material – a pillow you assumed – trying to ignore the soft laughs of the other people in the room at the noises you made and their own witty banter about some unknown subject.

Others?

You knew you weren’t in the blue jeep anymore. You were fully clothed. A bright light hovered over your head, the sound of fingers clicking away on keyboards and people’s low mumbling hit your ears, making them twitch at the noise. Rushed footsteps were heard trudging around the small room, every footfall resonating off the walls.

Where am I? You asked yourself, willing your body to open your eyes slowly. The bright lights blinded you, a louder groan escaping your lips and your eyes closing again quickly. A few of the people in the room whispered to each other, catching the sound you made. Heavy steps raced towards you, the couch shifting slightly under the weight of the person leaning against it.

“Wake up already, sleepy head. We have the next intern challenge to complete,” their voice said, the underlying husky tone filling your ears. You shuffled on the couch, eyes cracking open once more to focus on the person hovering over you. The whiskey-brown eyes you met sparkled, though the twinkle was faintly caught between the thick, black-rimmed glasses resting on his nose. He smirked down at you, poking your forehead. “Wake up, loser. We need your small brain.”

Stuart fucking Twombly. Is. Truly. An ass.

Character Analysis: Blue Diamond

I kept trying to make the juxtaposition post between Blue and Yellow Diamond work, but I really needed a foundation before I started comparing their characters. It was turning into a huge section for each character and less like certain aspects of them were being analysed. It never turned out acceptable enough to me, and I was taking longer and longer to write just one post. So I decided to break it down (again) into a character analysis post for each character, and I’ll be following up with their juxtaposition before talking about PD’s shattering.

I want to start with Blue Diamond first, if only because I’ve touched a little on Yellow Diamond before . Blue Diamond is a relatively new character in the show, in that her presence hadn’t been confirmed until Steven’s Dream. Before that, all we had to go on were the Ziggurat and Moon Base murals and Garnet’s story in The Answer.

BD is a very complex character. On the surface, she appears as a victim, a foil to the “harshness” of Yellow Diamond (more on her in the next post). She is a very visible and obvious embodiment of Homeworld’s humanity, that they too have been hurt by the war and the conflict that underlay it. At the same time, though, there is a feeling of guilt about her that reveals she wasn’t totally ignorant of the said conflict going on. Moreover, by her own words, she has not only been dwelling in grief, but also has been searching for answers.

Blue Diamond then, is not a helpless mourner in distress and under duress. She is a capable and intelligent ruler, trying—and failing—to put aside personal pain in order to continue ruling. And that makes her similar to Yellow Diamond in more ways than one. Like their civilisation, she is trying to heal but a focal point of her healing is finding out what really happened the day PD was shattered. The way she deals with her stress and sadness, as well as the way she interacts with the gems around her, reveals a lot about her character. Let’s get to that.

1. BD dances the line between power and helplessness

What is striking about BD is how she looks like the quintessential ruler, a cross between the archetypes of mother goddess and queen. She is altogether very regal and dignified. She speaks deliberately, slowly compared to some of the other dialogue on the show. Combined with her crisp diction, her words always feel weighty. One of my favourite instances is her reply to Yellow Diamond in the Trial. YD almost annoyed asks whether examining Blue’s palanquin is necessary and Blue quietly but firmly says, “Isn’t it?” In that line, it was as if the room collectively held its breath, and even YD paused for a moment.

Blue Diamond possesses all of the attributes that we would normally associate with a leader. Her presence, from her first appearance in The Answer, spoke of someone who literally stood above others. Even while crying or angry she manages to look elegant and composed. Like the classical leader, she is introduced not with her generals but her Sapphire, analogous to leading with wisdom rather than brute force.

This picture of BD reaffirms the concept of a Diamond. In What’s The Use of Feeling (Blue), Yellow Diamond reminds Blue how each gem has a role, and when she gets to BD, she says the needs to be a leader. This is a very telling line, because we begin to understand how the socio-political hierarchy is understood on Homeworld. It isn’t a lie told by the Diamonds to placate lower-ranking gems in society. They themselves fully believe in their role as rulers. They honestly feel that “every gem in her place” is the only way for their civilisation to function properly.

That “truth” becomes a huge limiter of the supposed power that comes from being the unquestioned ruler of an empire. The Diamonds can technically do anything, but they are situated in a particular context, embedded in particular social roles, like any other character in the story. In the rigid social structure of Homeworld, they are expected to lead. So they can do anything, in so much as they do as leaders do. This explains why YD had to drop everything and run after Blue in The Zoo and That Will Be All. Ideally, they can’t just do anything they want because they are fully aware of the huge waves the ripples of their actions will cause around them.

The operative word here “ideal.” One thing to note is that all these rules are enforced by a social structure. That means social roles and expectations do blur and how to act within this structure is largely informal. There probably aren’t written rules that say how far behind a Diamond one should walk, when exactly a Pearl should speak, or how much shoulder-punching is too much shoulder-punching among soldiers.

Much like ours, their society is governed by these informal rules as much as the formal written laws. The Diamonds may have a formal set of responsibilities, but so many other social factors intervene in the way they are perceived. Things like power, class, and even height difference factor into how they are perceived by other gems. This means that a structure in which everyone is supposed to have a place, may not be as easily enforced, especially as gems go higher up the social ladder. Discipline, particularly at the Diamond-level is largely self-enforced.

So it doesn’t mean they don’t break these unspoken rules—we’ve seen them arbitrarily use their power when they’re upset or stressed. It so happens though, that in the show so far, all we’ve seen them feeling is indeed upset and stressed.

The idea that Blue is a powerful, at times unquestioned leader, is countered by how crippled and paralysed she feels in the face of Pink Diamond’s shattering. Blue has so much to offer gem-kind, not only as their leader, but also, as Peridot pointed out in Message Received, someone with abilities that surpass those of any other gem.

Yet she is unable to fulfil her role. In her most vulnerable, while she’s on Earth, she entrusted her safety to only her Pearl. For emphasis, Blue touched down on a Homeworld-hostile planet with no guards, and no Sapphires. The only gem with her was her Pearl. Given my old theory on PD’s shattering, and even the theories floating around now, that whoever shattered PD would’ve had to be close to her, it shows how exposed she is right now.

Blue is a force, but she’s also presented as a character who is flowy, flexible, rounded, and very sad. Were she the same size as the average gem, she would appear weak, not a fighter, and unable to defend herself.

BD seems very much like the archetypal leader, the only Diamond we’ve seen hold court and carry with her the formalities traditionally associated with leaders. But she’s also immobilised by grief. There is a paradox in her looking so willowy and bendable but deeply emphatic and firm about her beliefs, in this case, her search for answers.

In Blue we have a character seemingly transparent, showing everyone her tears and her breakdowns, but at the same time so opaque, as she makes decisions behind closed doors (or closed palanquin, as in The Answer) and has been searching for answers with a resolve YD didn’t even know about.

Really, when was the last time you got out of the house?”

You straighten up your sweater, sitting up on the bed, “Yesterday, to go to work.” She rolls her eyes at you and you feel like a kid that talked back to her parents. “Sure, you go to work almost every day, but when was the last time you got out the house to have fun?”

You don’t answer her because you don’t remember. Your life lately has been going to work and going home. “See, you don’t even remember. Look, I know that since you and Nathan broke up things are hard, but you need to go back out there. Have fun, do something crazy.”

anonymous asked:

Can you do one where it is Harry and Draco's wedding day?

here you go! This is actually quite cute I’m glad you suggested this!

Harry was anxiously fixing his tie for the third time that day. He didn’t think he’d ever been so nervous in his life. He examined his tie in the mirror before tutting and taking it off again. Hermione huffed behind him. “Merlin, it looks fine!” She got up, snatched the tie from his hand, and began to tie it herself. “Luna and Ginny weren’t this nervous when they got married.” She pointed out.

“That’s because they’re Luna and Ginny.” Harry snorted. “Do you remember how casually Ginny proposed? She didn’t even have a ring, they had to buy one later.”

“Maybe you should take some lessons from them. Not everything in life has to be perfect.”

“I know that not everything has to be perfect. I just think that this should be perfect.” Hermione rolled her eyes as she finished up the tie. Harry examined it again and decided that it was perfect. “Thank you.” He said meekly.

Hermione nodded and looked at her watch. “You walk down the aisle in five minutes, let’s go.” She jerked her head towards the door. Harry followed her through it. They walked together down a hallway that led to the entrance where the ceremony would take place. Sirius was already standing there, waiting for him, checking his watch ever so often. As they walked closer they saw Lupin standing next to him, rubbing his arm and whispering something to him. Remus picked up Sirius’s arm to look at his watch.

“I have to go take my seat now.” Harry heard him say as he got closer. “I’ll see you in a bit, alright Pads?” Sirius nodded and kissed his cheek.

They finally reached where Sirius was standing. Hermione touched his shoulder reassuringly. “Good luck.” she whispered and entered the hall. Harry took a deep breath. He saw Narcissa, Draco’s mother, was also standing there. Waiting for Draco to arrive, no doubt. He turned back to face Sirius.

“You can do this.” He said in a calming voice. “I felt the same the day Moony and I got married. But once you’re up there, the moment he walks out into the hall, he’s all you’ll see. And all the worry and nerves will melt away.” Harry nodded and Sirius turned him around to face the closed doors. “Ready?” He asked as he stood next to him.

Trimberly Week (D7)

Well this has been fun! Be on the look out for another chapter for “The Waiting Game” coming soon! Also, I watched “In A Heartbeat” (encourage everyone to go see that, and if you’ve seen it, go watch it again) which is where I got the idea for this.

Soulmate AU

  • In this world, everyone’s Heart glows depending upon their emotion
    • Yellow = Joy, Trust, Embarrassment
    • Blue = Sadness, Thoughtful, Calm
    • Red = Anger, Frustration, Courage
    • Green = Disgust, Envy, Sickness
    • Black = Fear, Mischief, Pain
    • Pink = Love
  • Hearts can occasionally “come to life” and keep us company in times of need
    • They’re our first and closest companions
    • Hearts show us our truest selves
    • But Hearts are also incomplete, a little like a puzzle piece, and your Soulmate has the other half
  • It was at Trini’s 11th birthday party when her Heart first glowed bright Pink
    • Not like it did when she hugged her Mami or Papi, but for a person who wasn’t family
    • Her name was Kira and they had been friends since Trini had first moved in next door
  • She gave Trini her favorite dinosaur sweatshirt, the yellow one with a pterodactyl on it, and Trini’s Heart thundered excitedly
  • When June Gomez saw her daughter’s Heart glowing for a girl, she spent the rest of the night yelling at her daughter until Trini ran to her room crying
  • Her Heart spent the entire night curled up in her palms, comforting her
  • They moved a week later
  • Kim’s Heart first glowed pink when she was 14
    • Ty Flemming was a sophomore and a rising football star and the second they made eye contact her Heart lit up the hallway
    • (It probably should have been telling that Ty’s didn’t…)
    • But he was Kim’s first real boyfriend and she fell a little too hard, a little too fast
  • It was right before the summer of their senior year when Kim caught Ty and Amanda sleeping together
  • Her Heart remained dark blue for an entire week, before one night it grew reddish black and she sent Ty a picture of Amanda
    • He passed it around the school and blamed it on Kim who blamed it on Amanda and punched Ty’s tooth out
    • She landed herself detention every Saturday for the rest of the year and through the summer, along with Jason Scott and Billy Cranston, who became two of her closets friends
    • She finds it incredibly adorable that Jason’s Heart glows pink whenever Billy talks; he thinks he’s good at hiding it, but the boy is fooling no one
  • Trini moves to Angel Grove that summer and spends the majority of it trying to get away from her overbearing mother or taking care of her little brothers
    • Her brothers could be annoying sometimes but their Hearts always glowed a pale yellow-pink whenever she played with them
    • And they were much cooler about her Heart flashing pink whenever a pretty girl walked by than their mother was
    • Especially considering she once saw Mateo’s Heart glow pink when he was playing with his old friend Wally
  • Trini meets Zack one day when she and her brothers are out hiking
    • He scared the shit out of them when he swung down, hanging upside down, from a tree along the trail
    • Trini was so startled she punched him in the face and knocked him out of the tree
    • They become best friends
  • Senior year at Angel Grove gets a little interesting when Zack and Trini walk through the front gates and Trini’s Heart suddenly leaps out of her chest, twirling and glowing pink, pink, pink!
  • And Trini’s cheeks match in shade as well from everyone staring at her and her Heart starts dragging her across the quad
  • Kim was waiting with Billy and Jason to get their lockers when her Heart suddenly bursts with light and jumps out of her chest for no apparent reason
  • She’s so shocked she doesn’t even have time to stop herself before her Heart starts pushing her down the hall and out the front door
  • And everyone watches in stunned reverence, as Kimberly Hart pin-wheels her arms to keep her balance and a girl they’ve never seen before digs her heels in the ground, their Hearts pulling/pushing them along until
  • CRASH
  • Kim’s arms automatically wrap around the girl she ran into and their breath leaves them
  • Trini has just enough time to look up into the eyes of the girl who caught her before there’s a flash of light and suddenly their Hearts merge together and glow White
    • (White = Soulmates)
  • They’re both in shock, for different reasons
    • Kim’s surprised because her Heart has been blue/red/black for just about her entire summer and suddenly its glowing pink and now white?
    • Trini’s panicking on the inside because while she’s always known her Heart would glow for a girl, much to her mother’s despair, she never imagined she’d actually find her Soulmate
    • Or rather her Heart found her Soulmate
  • Finally Jason, the boys having chased their friends, coughs and startles both girls into motion
  • Kim is the first to break their silence
      • Kim: “So… I guess we’re Soulmates! I’m Kim.”
      • Trini *still shocked*: “I know. I mean, no, I don’t know. You, I don’t know who you are, but I mean like, yeah we’re Soulmates… uh.”
    • And Kim’s smitten
    • Damn her Heart can pick em
  • The bell rings before they can talk more and as they go opposite ways, their Hearts separate but remain White while glowing pink
  • They endure curious stares all day and Kim’s a little surprised when she spots Amanda and her Heart glows a yellowed green
  • Trini and Kim end up having biology together and both their cheeks grow warm when their Hearts reanimate once again to merge
    • The teacher gives them a look, surprised and a little annoyed by the distraction, so Kim stuffs their Heart in her backpack and sits beside Trini
  • They pass notes the entire class, flirting and hiding their giggles, and Kim walks Trini to her locker where she asks her out on a date
    • And Trini flushes hotly but their Heart glows pinky and she accepts
  • They go to Krispy Kreme and spend nearly four hours just talking, losing track of time until Trini’s mom calls and Kim drives her home
  • She walks Trini to her door and when she leans in to kiss her, Trini stops her, saying she had a goodnight and that she’ll see her tomorrow, before going inside
  • And Kim stands there, confused and slightly panicked that she did something wrong, but then the door swings back open and Trini launches herself at Kim, kissing her
  • By the time Kim gets home, her parents are home and her Heart is still glowing pink
    • They immediately notice her White colored Heart and barrage her with questions on her newfound Soulmate
    • When Kim admits its a new girl at her school, her parents are hardly fazed, and insist on meeting her, dinner at the Hart house Friday night
  • Trini manages to avoid her mom that night but she gets caught the next morning and has to tell her mom that her Soulmate is a girl she met at school
    • But Trini’s fears of her mother’s retaliation go out the window when her father congratulates her and says how proud he is, how they both are, of her
    • Her mom remains quiet, but she does offer Trini a nod and a tight smile, so, small victories
    • Her brothers desperately want to meet their sister’s Soulmate and she agrees that they’ll all get to meet Kim, when they’re mother get’s a little more comfortable and they’ve dated a while
  • When Trini walks through the front gates of school her Heart leaps out of her chest and quickly pulls her over to Kim who’s waiting with the boys by the front steps
  • This time when Kim wraps her arms around Trini to catch her, Trini wraps hers around Kim’s shoulders and they smile before leaning in to kiss
    • Sure they’re not actually dating yet, but they’re Soulmates, they have forever to just take their time

Bonus:

  • Trini’s mom meets Kimberly though she still isn’t comfortable with her daughter’s sexuality, so things get tense in Trini’s household
  • It’s alright tho, because Kim’s parents more than make up for it; they absolutely LOVE Trini
  • Jason’s Soulmate ends up being new kid Tommie Oliver, but Jason’s still in love with Billy and Tommie falls for Zack, so they end up just being really close friends and chose their true loves

anonymous asked:

RFA+Saeran go prom shopping with their daughter

Aww, this is cute! Here you go~

Zen:

  • His daughter really didn’t want him to come
  • But he insisted
  • He spent the whole time on the way there lecturing her about how men are beasts
  • You distracted Zen while your daughter picked out what she wanted
  • Your daughter is in the dressing room by the time he finishes choosing a few dresses
  • The dress she’s wearing when you get there is a long flowy dress
  • Zen disapproves immediately
  • “But, Dad, it’s a nice event! I barely get to wear something like this.”
  • “You can look nice and wear long sleeves.”
  • He makes her try all the dresses he picked…which are overly conservative
  • Meanwhile, you find some other dresses that your daughter might actually like
  • There’s one that’s a decent length and with good coverage, but bare shoulders
  • Zen is upset until you remind him how similar it is to the one you wore to the first RFA party
  • He compromises and tries to make his daughter wear a grandma cardigan
  • She has to leave the house with it on, but you feel bad
  • “Remember, if it gets too warm in the room, you can always take it off,” you add with a wink
  • She’s so grateful to you

Yoosung:

  • He’d been so busy at work, you two had barely seen him
  • When your daughter asks him to tag along for prom shopping, he’s so touched
  • He tries to pick out a few dresses though he has no idea what’s fashionable at the moment
  • You both subtly turn them down and tell him to wait outside the dressing room
  • He is so excited for every dress his daughter tries on
  • Claps every time she exits the room with a new dress
  • Swears every dress is the one
  • Just thinks she looks good in everything
  • “Yes! This is the one! This is it! Beautiful!”
  • “Dad…I haven’t changed into a new dress yet.”
  • “Oh…So this is definitely the one.”
  • He points out something good on all of the dresses
  • Poor guy gets tired after two hours
  • He excuses himself and when he gets back he has food for all of you
  • Once he’s energized, he’s ready for more cheering

Jaehee:

  • Flustered when her daughter asks for help
  • Jaehee never went to prom herself, so she’s a bit nervous
  • When she sees all the dresses, she switches to office mode
  • She’s been to enough fancy office parties while working under Jumin
  • She has an entire selection ready for her daughter
  • It also helped that she knew her daughter’s exact taste
  • She does dressing room runs so her daughter doesn’t have to leave the room
  • She’s very blunt in her opinions though
  • “That really doesn’t flatter your shape, hon.”
  • Categorizes the dresses into a rejected pile, maybe pile, and on the higher probability side
  • Still, her daughter didn’t seem happy with anything
  • Finally, her daughter shows her a picture online of a dress she hoped to find
  • Jaehee dismissed herself and came back a few minutes later
  • It wasn’t the exact dress, but it fit her perfectly

Jumin:

  • His daughter originally didn’t want to say anything
  • She felt bad knowing her father would put down everything for the perfect dress for her
  • Instead, she insists she just go shopping normally to find one, but she doesn’t protest to Jumin and you coming along
  • Unfortunately, nothing quite felt right
  • There were pieces of each dress she liked, but others that made her look odd
  • You noticed Jumin taking notes on his phone for something, but didn’t know what
  • Jumin had noted everything his daughter seemed to like
  • He gave the notes and the exact measurement to a designer
  • They put them all together to make a long, elegant, flowy dress
  • Nothing too flashy and perfectly elegant
  • He gifts it to her and she absolutely loves it
  • As one last gift, he gives her a simple necklace with her initials on the night of the prom
  • He was so happy to send her off when there was a knock at the door
  • “Who is your date anyway?”
  • He opens the door to find Zen’s son standing there with a corsage
  • Jumin shuts the door
  • You have to intervene

Seven:

  • She agreed to let him come if he didn’t pick out any dresses
  • He tended to pick out really….really bright colors
  • He agreed and sat patiently by the dressing room as you two found some dresses
  • He gets bored waiting, so he writes numbers 1-10 on pieces of papers
  • When you start trying them on, he lifts certain ratings for each
  • He’s pretty chill about most of the dresses
  • But then she walks out with a dress that has a slit on the side, exposing part of her leg
  • “Unless you’re planning on wearing jeans under that dress, I think the Feliz Navi-NOT.”
  • He makes enough puns in Korean, does he need to use all 17 languages?
  • You knew she found the right dress when he starts to get emotional at how much his baby has grown up
  • He’s not that worried about the date
  • Because unbeknownst to his daughter, he did a full background check on him
  • Also because he’s escorting them
  • He does have a selection of cool cars…who needs a limo?

Saeran:

  • He thought it was more of a mother-daughter thing to do
  • So he was kind of hesitant to come along
  • He actually has a really good taste in dresses
  • He picks out several that are simple yet elegant
  • He’s very detailed when it comes to observing each dress
  • There was one where she thought it was the one and he found the smallest stain
  • He has a hard time reigning in his facial expressions with others though
  • The people next to you guys picked up a really ugly dress
  • He gave them a really odd look and keeps glancing back at them before they awkwardly put it down
  • Saeran please stop
  • When she comes out in this one dress, he collects his things and starts leaving
  • When you ask where he’s going, he looks at his daughter and says, “That’s the one. I’ll go start the car.”
  • He really doesn’t have to have a word with her date
  • Since he’s already scared
  • Saeran didn’t mean it…he just has a really scary resting face

Jongdae’s POV

8 years ago

“Jongdae take a look at this,” my father said handing me a file with a bunch of papers in it.

“Darling, I don’t think you should show him this yet, he’s too young,” my mother interrupted.

“He’s has to take over the family business sooner or later, besides he already knows a lot of stuff, might as well learn how to deal with the ones indebted to us.”

My mother didn’t say anything just looked at me and went out of the room. I picked up the file and opened it. It wasn’t a big case, just some husband and wife who owns my father money because of gambling in one of his casinos. I have no idea why he would give me this, it seemed boring. My father noticed that.

“They don’t owe me that much compared to some other big shots but what I really dislike about them is the fact that they tried to run away…”

I wondered what he meant before I turned the page and saw that they’re now in completely different city. What fools. Do they really think they can escape my father this easily, he has eyes everywhere and they’re just amateurs. I understood that my father probably wants to go pay them a visit and I would gladly accompany him. I turned another page to see what they look like and to my surprise they had daughters. The older one in particular caught my attention, even though her face was expressionless, her features were delicate. I took the photo out.

“What about them?” I asked him, he picked up the picture and looked at it closely.

“We can use them to our advantage. Threatening is always easier when they have family members to worry of,” my father started laughing creepily, something that even made me feel unsettling. He stood up and called one of the drivers before gesturing for me to follow him.

“Are we actually going there now?” I questioned and he nodded. I got into the back seat of the car and checked my clock. We will probably arrive there in about 4 hours. I didn’t speak to my father anything else because honestly I preferred not to know what he’s planning. The car ride there felt like it will never end but once we were there I somehow started getting nervous. It was already dark outside and as soon as my father’s men began sprinting up the stairs the nervousness was soon replace by a pure sense of adrenaline. They kicked the door to one of the apartments open and went inside, searching for inhabitants, I wanted to go help them but my father told me to stay in the back. I saw how they ushered one man and three women to the tiny living room. I wondered how could somebody live in a place like this. My father steeped out from the shadows and I could already hear the two parents whimpering.

“Please, you have got it all wrong,” the man said.

“We were planning on paying you back,” the woman continued.

“Shut up,” my father said, pushing the two girls so they were on their knees, facing their parents. Even though their backs were to me, I immediately recognized the older one. I watched her hair go down her back and as she straighten herself I had to control my urge to come up to her.

“Please enlighten me how I’m wrong,” my father continued to mock them. “Because you clearly thought you can get away with all of the money I gave you. That’s not how this works.”

They all stayed silent for a moment and I heard another sob. It wasn’t from her though. She took the younger ones hand and whispered something to her.

“So what should I do with you all?” he asked expecting me to answer.

“Scare them a little?” I replied not sure if that’s the answer he wanted.

“Great idea!” he said, setting the gun against the back of her head. And then the quiet cries started again but by the way she was still kneeling I knew none of it is from her. She just squeezed the younger ones hand more tightly and I heard her mother say that everything is going to be okay but all of us knew it won’t and I don’t know what was going on in my head at that moment, I never dared defy my father like that.

“Wait!” I shouted and he turned to me, I had to say what I wanted quickly to avoid annoying him further. “Not this one,” I finally spoke. “The other,” I said, pointing to the younger one.

“As you wish,” my father said. I saw her turn to her sister in an attempt to stop him but the shot was already fired and only the echoes of the sound resonated along the room. Everyone was dead silent as they watched the body fall to the ground.

“Let’s go,” my father said, already going to the door. My eyes met hers seemingly for a split second but I could already see how they turned from frightened to pure hatred as she went to her sister’s lifeless body. I heard her cry for the first time as she held it. I quickly turned around. I have no idea why but extreme guilt washed over me.

“Shit,” I thought to myself going out. I couldn’t get the powerful look she gave me out of my head.  I realized that at that moment I fell in love with her.

6 year, 4 months

For the next almost two years there wasn’t a day I didn’t think about her. I wanted to meet her so badly but I knew it would never be possible after what happened. I spent my days gathering all the information I could possibly get on her. Her name especially stuck with me. I remember attending her sister’s funeral and watching her from one of the trees from a distance. Even being so far away from here I could see she had no emotion on her face. I knew that this is partly my fault but I never felt more grateful that my father listened to me on that day. After a few months, I found out that she started working to help repay her parents debts. Whenever I went to the café she worked at I was always too scared to go inside, thinking she will recognize me. At this point I knew I’m becoming quite obsessed with her but I just had to see her. Get closer somehow. My father’s health got significantly worse and I had to take care of a lot of more things nowadays but I had inside eyes even in her school. I felt like trashing the office I already had when I found out that someone is actually bullying her. I had to go there myself. Luckily on that day she wasn’t even at school. I chuckled when I saw how everyone stared at me as I pulled up in an expensive car in front of the building. I went straight to the principal and him knowing my father, well promised not to interfere. I slammed the door to her classroom open and called the bullies out. They of course didn’t want to go anywhere with me but just with a snap of my fingers, my father’s men were already at them.  Their squirms of pain and asks for forgiveness were music to my ear, as I tortured them myself in one the warehouses owned by us. Every day I was getting more and more like my father. I wondered if she ever found out where they suddenly disappeared to. I couldn’t let her be in that school anymore, so after a long argument I finally won and she was supposed to get transferred by getting a scholarship to the private school I attended. I could barely contain my excitement at the thought of seeing her more often.

It made me quite happy to know that she’s the introverted type. Less guys approached her, less trouble for them and for me. I have heard that she needed some really persuasive convincing so she would actually go this school. Knowing her, it didn’t surprise me she found this suspicious. I stared at her from the third floor window, reading a book by one of the trees. She looked as beautiful as ever. Our uniform fit her well.

“Are you watching her again?” Baekhyun approached me. “Man, you’re so creepy.”

“Shut up, it’s none of your business.”

He raised his hands in defence.

“Relax, I’m not taking her, even though she’s a great catch but seeing how everything is going, you’re not going to get her anytime soon either,” he laughed but I quickly silenced him with a punch to his stomach. He fell down on the floor and I lifted him up by the collar.

“You dare say something like that about her again.”

“No need to get violent. Anyone would be stupid to try to do that. Do you think I want to die? You’re scary when you’re jealous,” he said swatting my hand away and standing up. “Speaking about that. I heard that some guy from her class confessed to her the other day, she rejected him though-“

But I wasn’t listening anymore. How dare someone do that. I knew who it was. I saw him trying to get all friendly with her. Luckily it was still lunch break, I went to his table and dragged him away. I saw how frightened he got by the second. I was known as quite the scary one in the school, I just hoped that rumour never reached her.

“What, what is it?” he asked me when I slammed him to the wall in one of the corners. I didn’t say anything just took his arm and began twisting. He screamed in pain.

“Did you talk to Y/N the other day?”

“Y/N? I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I twisted his arm to the opposite direction a bit more.

“Okay yes. Yes I was.”

“She’s mine,” I told him as I finally heard the bone snap. He cried out in pain and fell to the floor. “You won’t tell anyone about this unless, you have a death wish,” I said, showing him my gun.

I went to the next lesson like nothing happened. I saw Baekhyun glance at me from his table. He asked if I took care of him and I nodded. I had another worry now, my graduation is soon and she still has two years of studying left.

My father’s sudden passing half a year ago left me with complete control of the gang but also all the worry and trouble it came with. Before this I never knew he was associated with the other families and how closely they worked together. I needed to learn again how to cooperate and work for a common goal. The many deals and jobs my father left me with meant that I couldn’t see her as often. I sometimes wondered why she’s still not here by my side. I had so much power in this city yet, I couldn’t just go and kidnap her. At least I knew that she also graduated. I literally thought about staying an extra year in school just to be near her but my mother convinced me otherwise. It made me quite sad when I found out, she never went to pursue a higher education, when she was one of the top graduates. After all these years, her parents never learned and still gambled. Even more so, after what happened. Her heart was too kind, they didn’t deserve her. She worked two jobs just to take care of them and also pay up the debt. I wonder how she felt knowing that she’s sending the money to her sister’s killer. One day thinking about this I came up with a perfect plan to finally make her mine.

“You know it will never work,” Minseok said as soon as I explained to him what I was planning. “She will find out sooner or later.”

Every single one of them told me that. Why did I even bother explaining. I’m going to go through with it anyway. I have been waiting for so long as it is.

“Then I better make sure she doesn’t,” I said, putting my jacket on and going to the door.

“Jongdae don’t be stupid, she’s just a girl…”

“She’s special. You haven’t seen her on that day.”

I knew why they didn’t like this idea from the start, it was mostly because they didn’t want me to get hurt by her or get hurt while protecting her. Stupid reasons. I called my family’s lawyer and he promised to get the documents ready by the end of the month. I went back to my apartment and fell down on the bed. The room next to mine was still empty but I could already imagine her being there.

5 months ago

I picked up the papers and the photos I gathered of her throughout all these years. I wanted to burn them, get rid of them but I somehow couldn’t bring myself to do it. She looked so pretty and cute in all of them. I opened the secret drawer and put all of them in there. Today was the day. Her parents agreed to meet me as soon as I told them what I want. They welcomed me warmly and they nodded eagerly when I told them I’m willing to pay off their debt. It disgusted me how easily they accepted my offer to exchange money for their daughter, I tried not to show them this because I was also extremely happy everything is going so well. They didn’t question why I’m even doing this and that was enough for me. As I shook their hands and they signed the papers, I heard the front door of their apartment open. And there she was, almost in the same place I first met her, looking as stunning as ever in her work dress. I stood up immediately and took a few steps to her. She glanced at me then at her parents.

“Who’s this?” she asked, her voice sweet and soothing.

“Y/N this is Jongdae, you will have to come with him,” her mother explained.

“Jongdae?” she questioned and for a second, I thought she will recognize me. “Why should I go with him?”

“We just made a perfect deal and got a lot of money from him,” she was shocked by the answer.

“And you’re selling me off just like that?!” she shouted. “He could be a human trafficker for all I know, how dare you!”

I couldn’t stay here any longer, I needed to get away from her parents before I punched them in the face. I grabbed her by the arm and went to the door.

“Mother,” she cried out.

“Don’t worry Y/N! He promised to take care of you,” she shouted after her.

“Let go of me,” she said, as I took her to the car. She seemed quiet on the outside but I absolutely loved how feisty she actually is. I had no idea how to take her to the headquarters without her escaping, so I handcuffed her to one of the handles inside of the car.

“What the hell are you doing? Is this a kidnapping?” she began trashing around but abruptly stopped when she noticed my gun. I saw that she was at least a bit scared but she tried her best not to show it.

I took her to one of the rooms in the headquarters and sat her on the bed.

“Y/N I want to marry you,” I finally told her. She looked at me in disbelief.

“Are stupid or something? There was no way I’m getting married.”

And so it began. I tried to convince her multiple times and I didn’t know it was even possible but she started to annoy me to no end. Maybe this won’t be as easy as I thought it would be. I came back to the room again after a while and panicked when I couldn’t see her in it. I ran to the bathroom and saw that she’s climbing into the ventilation shaft. That was it. I dragged her out roughly and flung her over my shoulder. I left her downstairs and went to my room to calm down. I shoved everything off my table, it was easier taking it out on something. I knew I can’t show her my temper and how I actually am if I ever want to gain her trust and I needed that but most of all I needed her. I stayed away for a few hours before coming back to her. I signalled my men to leave us alone. I came up to her and saw that she’s sleeping. She looked so adorable I just wanted to pick her up and hold her close. And so I did but she woke up soon after. She stared at me with those beautiful eyes of her and her cheeks turned a cute shade of pink when I complimented her. I felt bad threatening her but she really had no more than two options. Even though I could never kill her. I watched the tears stream down her face. And here I thought I will never see that happening again. I wiped them off and after all these years of waiting, kissed her.

I couldn’t help but chuckle when I told her I stopped locking the door to her room days ago. I couldn’t bring myself to do it anymore. But she was even more shocked when I told her I’m taking her to party. She was gorgeous in the dress I got her that I froze to my spot. She came up to me and fixed my tie and when she looked up, she seemed so innocent, I couldn’t believe I’m lying to her. I was about to tell her everything right there on the spot, thank God one of my men saved me. I know how much she would hate me if she ever found out the truth and by now, I would probably die if she left me. I still hated the plan they come up with even though it was perfect. She was beautiful, who wouldn’t get distracted by her. I gave her a necklace with a tracker in it and prayed that she won’t get in any trouble so I wouldn’t need to use it. Unfortunately that was not going to happen. When Junmyeon came in and told me that Jimin took her to the roof I completely ignored the deal we were making and everyone in the room and ran out as fast as I can. If he as much as touched her. I don’t care if I get this war started. I kicked the door open and saw that he had her cornered. I would have killed him but somehow I was afraid to shoot someone if front of her, thinking it will trigger something. And I was right when all of it was over and she came to me that night I knew what she dreamt of.

1 month ago

I was trying to convince her to work with me for the past two months. I wanted to keep her nearby but I knew she would never accept it. She hated violence. One day she even asked me about her parents. It surprised me how much she still cared about them. As each day went by after I gave her the key to go out whenever she wanted and I saw her smile more often, it was harder to control myself. I didn’t want to push her but I loved her so much and I wanted her to know that.

Yesterday;  7 am

I woke up early because only now did I remembered that I never got her that wedding ring. What kind of a husband am I. I sat up in my bed and picked up my phone. I already had 3 missed calls. Two from Chanyeol, one from Minseok. What do they want so early in the morning? I had to go find that ring. I peeked inside her room before I went out. She looked so peaceful and cute while she slept. I could never get enough of seeing her this way.

Yesterday; 12 am

I came back after four hours and she still was asleep. I went to my office and checked my phone. 10 more missed calls. I had no plans of talking to them today, no matter how important it was. I took my cheque book and couldn’t help but take a peek at the photos I still had underneath. I still couldn’t believe I got so lucky to finally have her.

Yesterday; 10 pm

I came back as soon as I got the ring and went to the balcony with her. I knew she enjoyed the view. I didn’t know where to start, so I kept quiet for a moment, enjoying her presence.

“Jongdae, did something happen?” she asked me and I saw that she was actually worried. I turned around and practically begged her to let me put the ring on. Now she really was mine and everyone will be able to see that. I couldn’t believe she was just as happy as I am. I took her hands in mine.

 “You may have already noticed it but I’m utterly and extremely in love with you,” I told her and she began blushing. I didn’t know what to expect after that but I certainly didn’t think she would pull me in and kiss me. She kissed me. Herself. I slid my hands down her back to her waist when freaking Minseok came in and ruined the moment. As much as I didn’t want to leave her, I knew one against eleven is not a good fight. I told her not to wait up and kissed her on the forehead before going after Minseok.

Present Day; 6 am

I was so sick of this meeting and all this bullshit. I just wanted to go back home to her and hug her so tight and kiss her all over.

“Jongdae are you listening? I’m not going to repeat it for the third time,” Junmyeon said, pointing at the white board near him.

“Yeah yeah,” I told him. “So what if BTS started to move, do you seriously think we can’t beat them?”

“That’s not the point, they have allies,” he sighed before standing up. “I think we have been discussing this for too long now. The meeting is over. We will meet up later today. Don’t be late, especially you,” he said pointing at me.

I was the first one to get out of the room and was almost running to the elevator when Sehun caught up with me. I really didn’t want to speak with him right now.

“Did you hear?” he asked, stopping me.

“What?”

“Strange. I thought you will be going out for blood by now.”

“Just tell me what it is. I’m in a hurry.”

“There are some rumours going on around in the black market that Jimin issued a reward for someone who will bring Y/N to him,” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Are you serious? I have to get back home. Fast.”

Present Day; 8 am

I kept thinking why would he want her so badly the whole drive from the headquarters. But the want to finish what we started was stronger. I unlocked the door and went inside. I didn’t see here anywhere down stairs, so maybe she was still sleeping. As I was going up I saw that my office door is slightly open.

“Y/N are you in there?” I asked, pushing them. I saw her kneeling behind the table. She looked up at me with those same eyes I saw 8 years ago that turned from frightened to pure anger and hatred.

“Fuck,” was the only thing I could think of. “I fucked up.”

“Care to explain what’s the meaning of this?” she said, coming up and throwing all the papers at me. Honestly, I didn’t know what to say. If she found this, she already knew everything. Why the hell I never got rid of them. She took hold of my shirt and tugged at me roughly.

“I only have one thing to ask you,” she said. “Were you really there when my sister was shot to death?”

She stared at me and I kept silent.

“I can’t believe this,” tears already formed in the corner of her eyes. “I can’t believe I was about to fall for a man who is responsible for my sister’s death.”

She let go of me and ran downstairs but I caught up to her.

“Y/N listen, if it wasn’t her it would have been you! I could never let that happen.”

She turned around and slapped me hard across the face. It hurt but I deserved that.

“And who gave you the right to decide?” she shouted and ripped the silver necklace off her neck before running out through the door. Shit if she doesn’t have that on, I won’t be able to find her.

“Y/N!! Baby wait!!”

I chased after her but she was unbelievably fast. I wondered how is that even possible since she was wearing heels. I ran after her for good fifteen minutes when I lost sight of her in the crowds of people. I punched the nearby wall with all my might, making my knuckles bleed.  I set my head against it’s coldness.  It can’t end this way. I can’t lose her now.

~ Part 7 ~

A/N: Dun dun duuuun, turns out Jongdae is an obsessive stalker

Ravi: Rakshasa Boyfriend

You should thank your lucky stars for @ladyccr and her wonderful commissions! This story features characters from my first Rakshasa story. I hope you guys enjoy it!

You were excited about the festival. It was an event your father put on every year to celebrate and thank the people of the village. Your father was a nobleman but he was kind and generous to his people. He was much well loved outside his home as he was in it. You were the only daughter out of five boys and the youngest as well. You were ready to admit your father did spoil you. But he also made you and your brothers understand hard work and the value of what you had.

It never occurred to you that your father was seen as eccentric by his friends. When you joined the events your family threw you heard what people whispered behind his back. The whole thing it sent you crying to your room. It took you a while to build up a thick skin. Your brothers explained that the only reason they did that was because they weren’t good people.

Secret Wolfsbane (Remus x Reader)

“Loved your last Remus piece! Would you maybe do one where the reader is friends with the marauders, secretly in love with Remus, and once she finds out he is a were she makes wolfsbane for him secretly leaving it in the shack since she doesn’t want to pressure him into telling her. The boys get curious as to who is making it so they use the invisibility cloak and catch her leaving it one day. Lots of fluff! Thank you and have a good day!” Aw! Thank you so so much! And I loved this idea, hope you like how it turned out!

Italics= thoughts and flashbacks.

Also, in this instance professor Merrythought will be teaching DADA since there is no clear answer to who was teaching it after she retired during the marauders era.

You were a sixth year Gryffindor along with the poster children for trouble, also known as the marauders. You had been best friends with them ever since first year, but you have also been in love with one of them just as long. It started out as crush but after getting to know the sweet and gentle boy better, it turned into love. You were in love with none other than Remus Lupin, he was just as michevious as the rest but he was gentler and much more reasonable.

It wasn’t until your third year at Hogwarts that you found out about his “furry little problem” as both James and Sirius refer to it. Every month Remus would get sick, you didn’t think much of it during your first year but then during your second year, Sirius, James and Peter would disappear as well.

Second Year, after Christmas break.

“Hey guys! I was looking all over for you, have you seen Remus? The night sky is pretty clear so I was wondering if he wanted to star gaze and finish our astronomy project.” You told the pair of boys who were sitting at the back of the library.

“Sorry Y/N, it’s his aunt’s birthday tomorrow so he left afte class.” James said as he continued to write on a piece of parchment, no doubt an overdue essay.

“Wasn’t his aunt’s birthday last month?” You questioned.

“He has more than one aunt, this one is also very dear to him.” Sirius asserted as he stood from his chair, gathering his things.

“Oh okay, do you guys want to go and stargaze with me then?”

“Sorry sweet cheeks, but we have that test to study for, you go ahead and tell us about it tomorrow, okay?” Sirius replied as he ruffled your head affectionately. He and James left the library, leaving you with your thoughts. Funny thing was that you all had the same classes and there was no such test coming up, rather than keep interrogating them you played dumb and left it at that.

End of Second Year

“Hey, James! Have you seen Remus? He wasn’t in class today and I was wondering if he wanted any of the chocolate my mother sent me.”

“Um, sorry Y/N, he came down with a nasty stomach virus last night and went home for the weekend since he doesn’t like to stay in the hospital wing.” He answered.

“Oh that’s odd, he seemed fine last night.”

“Yeah, but you know how those bugs are, one minutes you’re fine and the next you’re kneeling over the loo hoping to be out of your misery soon.” He shrugged.

“Well, do you want some chocolate? She sent me far too much for just one person.”

“I would love some but I gotta run, Sirius, Peter and I have a double detention with Slughorn and I’m already late. I’ll catch you later!” and with that he ran off before you could bid him goodbye.

Another one of their excuses that didn’t add up since Slughorn loved James, and pretty much turned a blind eye when it came to the marauders.

Third Year

“Remus!” you exclaimed as you spotted your best friend down the hall, giving him a hug as you caught up with him.

“Looks like someone missed me.” He said chuckling as he hugged you back.

“You have no idea, you and the boys are always ditching me, I almost feel as if you all plan it and go to an Y/N free zone once a month to detox.” You joked back but you saw him gulp. So you were right, it wasn’t your imagination, they did all go out at least once a month without you.

“Nonsense, you can blame Peter for this one because he got us all sick this weekend, but don’t worry I’m feeling much better today.” He said smiling as you both made your way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts. You both set your bags down as you saw that everyone was gathered around the center of the room where a wardrobe stood rattling.

“Hello class! Today we have a hands on activity, as you all noticed that is not ordinary wardrobe, inside of it is a boggart. Can anyone tell me what that is?” no one raised their hand but Professor Merrythought called on Remus, knowing that he must have some sort of idea considering that his father was an expert when it came to things like this.

“A boggart is an amortal shape-shifting non-being that takes on the form of the viewer’s worst fear. It has no definite form since it changes depending on the person since he or she will fear different things.” He replied, looking uneasy, the carefree demeanor he had with you before class had vanished as he eyed the wardrobe wearily.

“Correct Mr. Lupin, ten points to Gryffindor. So right now, this particular boggart is sitting in the darkness inside has not yet assumed a form. He does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears.” The class remained silent, you could see many uneasy and worried looks.

“In order to get rid of one, one must concentrate on turning said fearful thing into something funny, so that fear can be dispelled in amusement as you say the incantation, ‘Riddikulus.’ Wands out, and repeat after me, Riddikulus.” The class did as they were told and soon enough you were all lining up, you and Remus made your way by where Sirius and James were standing and you all watched as Peter went first.

A snake came slithering out of the wardrobe, increasing in size as it got closer to Peter.

“Now Mr. Pettigrew!” Professor Merrythought shouted.

“R-riddikulus!” Peter shouted and in and instant the snaked turned into a slinky, laughter echoed in the room and soon enough everyone was pushing to be next.

One by one they all went and it was finally James’s turn, you bit your lip knowing well enough what his worst fear was. The wardrobe door opened once again and, a cow came out, walking slowly and mooing ominously at James. Both you and Remus bursted out laughing, remembering how a few summers ago, you all went to the muggle country side and somehow James angered a herd of cows and they chased him for five miles, it took Remus and Sirius a good twenty minutes to compose themselves before helping him.

“RIDDIKULUS!” James shouted with a little too much gusto, no doubt wanting to get it over and done with. The cow then turned into a dozen of black and white polka dotted snitches that buzzed around the room clumsily.

Sirius was next, you and Remus had a small betting pool going on between the two of you, knowing your best friends fairly well, you both knew what was going to come out of the wardrobe for Sirius.

Sure enough, a giant, and muscly Kreacher came out, hunched over with a menacing look on his face. You all knew Sirius wasn’t very fond of his house elf. The Kreacher like boggart wasn’t even halfway across the room when Sirius was already yelling Riddikulus, turning Kreacher into a giant balloon animal, squeaking with every movement.

It was finally your turn and you were not looking forward to it, in fact you had turned slightly pale at the thought of facing one of your biggest fears. Remus gave you an encouraging nod and you went to face your boggart.

At least fifty needles came flying out at you, all looking extremely sharp, you froze on the spot and even though they wouldn’t really hurt you, Remus ran towars you and yelled out.

“RIDDIKULUS!” not only did he protect you, but your boggart turned into a bunch of flowers; daisies, sunflowers and pansies bloomed around the room, but once the buds opened, a trumpet like sound was emitted, prompting raucous laughter.

You thanked Remus and he nodded, both of you blushing, you saw that he hesitantly made his way towards the front, knowing that he was one of the last ones to g; he needed to participate in order to get a good mark. The doors to the wardrobe opened and out came a great yellow ball, if you had blinked you would’ve missed it because in instant it was zipping around the room as a deflated balloon. That was no ordinary yellow ball, that was a full moon. Your theory was confirmed when you saw how the rest of the marauders were throwing worry glances towards Remus, the class didn’t seem to noticed what his boggart was since they were still laughing about the trumpeting flowers.

Ever since that fateful DADA class, you had finally figured out what your best friends were hiding from you. Your suspicions came true when you followed them during the full moon, drinking a potion that would make your movements as quiet as a mouse, you also had borrowed James’s invisibility cloak last week and had ‘forgotten’ to give it back this morning. You followed them into the shrieking shack, and when you saw how your best friends transformed into animaguses you gasped, but you felt your world spinning as you saw the man you love howl in pain as he turned into a wolf. You quickly ran out of the room, not because you were afraid but because you had to help him somehow, seeing him in pain made your heart ache.

During the next couple of weeks, you spent all of your free time in the room of requirements, hunched over countless of potion books, stirring and making endless trial potions in hopes of finally getting the challenging Wolfsbane potion down. Whenever one of the marauders would ask where you would go off to, you would give a vague answer of either going to see a professor for an extra lesson or that you were helping a professor or someone from a different house with something.

It took you two months but you had finally perfected and were ready to give it to Remus. During the next full moon, you went to the shrieking shack in the early hours of the morning and left the potion with a note explaining what it was, you hoped that they would use and wouldn’t think of it as a trap. Hopefully they think Dumbledore was behind it. You hid under one of the floorboards that was on the opposite side of the room, you had watched where they situated themselves and you knew that you would go undetected there. Soon enough it was nighttime and you heard them rushing in.

“Oi, Remus, come and look at this.” Sirius said as he saw the bottle and the note addressed to Remus. Remus eyes light up as he read it and even though James and Sirius were apprehensive Remus simply shrugged.

“I turn into a bloody monster once a month, I don’t have much to lose if I try this out.” He drank the potion in one big gulp, you all held your breath as he transformed a few minutes later. Five minutes passed and the rest of the marauders let out a cheer seeing how calm their friend was. You had happy tears in your eyes due to how your potion had worked and seeing that you were able to help him.

Ever since that full moon, every month you would work on his Wolfsbane potion and sneak it into the shack a day before the full moon. You had finished this batch and were ready to head out, you went to your room to get the cloak and your wand. You cursed under your breath as you remembered that you had given James his cloak back last week. You silently disarmed the spells that lead to the boy’s dormitories, thanks to yours and Remus’s late night study sessions, you knew which spell to use. You snuck into their room thinking that they were all in the common hall but much to your horror a voiced from behind you scared the daylights out of you.

“And to what to we owe this pleasure, love?” Sirius asked, leaning against the doorway as James looked on.

“Um, you see, I lent Remus a book yesterday and I need it to finish my Charms essay.” You answered, avoiding their eyes as you pretended to look for your book in Remus’s side of the room.

“And here it is! Thanks boys!” you grabbed the first book that you saw and left before they could say anything else.

You were back to how you were an hour ago, without an invisibility cloak. Guess I just have to risk being caught by Filch or Mrs. Norris… you thought. You put on your robes, grabbed both the potion and your wand and headed towards the underground tunnels that you knew so well. Unbeknownst to you, the two marauders didn’t believe your book story and followed you under James’s cloak, and were slowly putting two and two together as they follow you on your way towards the shrieking shack.

“No bloody way, she’s Moony’s Wolfsbane fairy.” Sirius whispered as James looked in awe as you made your way across the room and set down said potion, placed the accompanying note and left without a second glance. After they were sure you were long gone, they took off the cloak and sat in silence as they processed what they had just witnessed.

“Slughorn said that Wolfsbane was one of the hardest potions to do, it required an immense amount of skill and dedication. Remus started getting a bottle of Wolfsbane during the end of our third year, that means Y/N has been making his monthly potion for the last three years.” James pondered, finally breaking the silence.

“I’m honestly getting tired of seeing them dance around each other, can’t we just lock them up in a boggart free closet and have them confess their feelings for each other? What more proof do we need that she loves him? And we both know that he loves her.”

“Pads, I think it’s time we play matchmaker.” James said as he rubbed his hands excitedly.

A month had passed and you were once again bottling some Wolfsbane for Remus, ready to head out to set it out for him. You didn’t think twice on why you hadn’t seen any of the marauders all day, I mean it is Saturday, perhaps they’re out by the lake enjoying the sun before heading to the shack. You saw Peter and quickly asked him where the rest of the boys were, he stuttered that they were by the lake. You didn’t even bother to double check; you were just glad that you still had time to make your delivery.

You ran through the tunnels and finally made it to the shack, gasping for air, as you climbed upstairs. You were attaching your usual note to the bottle when a voice cut through the stillness of the room.

“Y/N?” you almost dropped the bottle. Gulping, you slowly turned around to face Remus.

“Hi Rem, fancy meeting you here.” You stammered out, avoiding his piercing green eyes.

“Three whole years. I’ve been wanting to meet the person that’s been making the Wolfsbane potion and thank them for three whole years, and that person was always next to me. You’ve been helping me for three whole years and I never thanked you, not once.” Remus marveled, slowly making his way across the room to you and enveloping you into a warm embrace.

You never imagined that someone would catch you in the act, let alone Remus himself.

“You’re not mad?” you whispered into his chest.

“Why would I be mad? You’ve been keeping me sane during my darkest hours.”

“I knew what was happening to you but I kept quiet.”

“No, Y/N, you found out and you still treated me as your best friend”

“That’s because I love you, Remus.” You breathed out.

“Now I know I must be dreaming.” He said, taking your hands in his as he looked deeply into your eyes.

“Ever since second year.” You whispered.

“So have I, bloody hell, I fell for you as soon as you told Sirius and James to shut up five minutes after sitting with us during our first train ride to school.” He gushed, laughing joyfully; both of you had smiles on your faces, your hearts were full, knowing that your love was reciprocated was the best feeling ever.

He closed the gap between the two of you and captured your lips into a gentle kiss, leaving you breathless. After a few moments you pulled apart, a gently blush dusting both of your faces.

“Remind me to thank Sirius and James for being so nosy, if it wasn’t for them following you last month, I would’ve never found out nor this would’ve happened.”

“Of course it was them…” You chuckled.

“They should be here soon, Peter will take you back to the castle and after this is all over we can spend the remainer of the weekend together, if you want that of course.” Remus said, nervously rubbing his neck.

“I wish you would let me stay but I understand, and of course I want to! In fact, I’ll sneak into the kitchen to get us some sweets.” You said, coming up on your tiptoes and kissing his cheek.

A few minutes later, cheers and congratulations echoed across the room as the marauders made their entrance. Before you left with Peter back to the castle, you kissed Remus once more which prompted five minutes of cat-calls and hollering from James and Sirius. Both you and Remus blushed and rolled your eyes at their antics, Remus told them to shut up, trying his hardest not to blush once again.

Jughead x Reader: What Could’ve Been (One Shot)

(A/N: So this is highkey a Reggie x Reader but since the story revolves around Jughead (and it’s in his POV) I labeled it as such BECAUSE I DECIDED TO TURN SHIT UP AND MAKE REGGIE GET THE GIRL AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT THEN pls dont hate me)

Plot: The one where Jughead had everything and nothing all at once.

You see the thing about heartbreak is that everybody lies about it.

It’s not some romanticized grand event that happens all at once and will leave you with nothing but an empty shell of who you once were.

No, heartbreak is not like that.

It’s much slower, so much more subtle, and so much more fucking worse.

Losing someone you love is ugly and painful and no amount of poetry would be enough to describe just how much it hurts.

Jughead would know.

Jughead had the girl; he just picked the wrong one.

Before there was the Four Horseman of Riverdale there was just (Y/N) and Jughead, the outsiders. They were inseparable, one never complete without the other. They had the same passion for writing and could talk for hours and never run out of topic to debate over. They would spend hours on end at the Sweetwater River or at the drive in until their parents decided to break them apart.

They were best friends; the other’s other half, until Jughead decided otherwise.

“Pops?”
-(Y/N)

“Cant, sleuthing w/ Bets”
-Jughead
——-
“You up for tonight?”
-(Y/N)

“Rain check?”
-Jughead
—–
“Where are you?”
-(Y/N)

“Juggie?”
-(Y/N)

Everything great about the two of them ended at one fateful night at Sweetwater River.

“I’m not mad that you decided to spend our special Friday with them, Jughead!” You screamed at his face, finally reaching your breaking point. “I’m mad that you had to lie about it! To me of all people!”

“You’re making a big deal out of this, (Y/N)—“

“A big deal?! In case it wasn’t clear, Jughead, you ditched me—“

“So you are mad! Stop lecturing me about honesty when you’re getting caught in your own lie right now!”
You flinched when Jughead raised his voice, not really used to this side of him.

Maybe he was right, maybe you were making a big deal out of it but what he doesn’t realize at that moment was that it was more than just the fact that he ditched you. He just gave life to your worst nightmare with that simple act of betrayal: being replaced. You had always spent your Friday’s together; it was the only thing that was truly just yours and Jughead. It was a tradition you haven’t broken yet, even with Archie, Betty, and Veronica in the picture. The one day that you held dear in your heart because those Friday’s made you feel special, it made you feel important to the one person who meant the most to you.

You weren’t mad, you were hurt.

And if Jughead was in the right mentality, his mind not too full of jealous thoughts about Archie and Betty then he would’ve seen it, like he always did.

 But he didn’t, and that’s a mistake he will have to pay for the rest of his life.

“Since when did you become an ass, Jughead?”

“Since when did you become clingy and desperate, (Y/N)?”

Clingy and desperate.

You really were best friends; you chuckled in disbelief, because only Jughead would know just how much those words would hurt you. Those were the words your dad always called your mother when she would cry as he left to fuck another faceless stranger, the last words he called her when he packed up his bag and never looked back. Only Jughead knew about this because you knew you could trust him.

Your mistake.

“(Y/N) …”

“Save it, Juggie.”
Jughead hated the way you’re voice broke, it made him want to hug you and beg on his knees but he knew you and he knew your pride so he just watched as his best friend slowly broke apart in front of him.

“You know what,” you looked up to him, eyes filled with unshed tears. You wiped them away. “Have fun, Jughead. God knows you need a break from clingy and desperate ol’ me.”

He should’ve stopped you, Jughead knows this. He should’ve never let you out of that door until he had properly apologized and you had forgiven him completely.

He fucked up; he realized this as he watched you try out for the Vixens, Cheryl watching in glee as you moved perfectly to the beat, eyes filled with fire and anger that only a sadist like Cheryl would appreciate.

He is losing you, he declared when you arrived at school one morning, after three weeks of not speaking to him, hair cut short and wearing your newly made Vixen uniform, walking hand in hand with Cheryl as her cronies followed the both of you to your newly reserved lunch table. Jughead continued to stare at you, hoping for a glance but you never looked his way.

He has no fucking idea who you are, he finally concluded when he heard Cheryl screaming how the cutest couple of Riverdale has finally formed because of her, their sweet little (Y/N) and their resident asshole of a jock Reggie Mantle.

Jughead heard it at the same time as the whole gang.

But really who would miss it.

“WHAT?!” Betty, Veronica, and Kevin along with other cretins screamed, obviously not believing the red head.

“Look,” Cheryl turned her phone towards the view of the general public as evidence and Jughead cursed himself when even he looked up from his laptop to look at what was inside the phone.

It was a photo.
And you were happy.

Glowing, in fact, as you looked up at the frame of none other than the Bulldogs’ football captain that seemed to be telling a story in great detail with his hands forming claws up in the air.

Jughead quickly looked back down to the words on his laptop, not wanting to attract any attention on him but it was too late, the sorry looks of his whole group was already aimed towards their friend.

“J-Juggie –“ Before  Betty could finish what pitiful words she was about to spit out in an effort to make everything hurt less, Jughead was already closing his laptop shut and walking out of the room with his bag in tow.

He felt betrayed.

He was angry.

He was hurt.

Jughead stopped his furious march and kicked the wall next to him, feeling something crack. It didn’t distract Jughead enough to forget about how you looked at Reggie in that photo. Like he was special, like he made you happy, like he was the only thing you see. Reggie didn’t deserve to be looked at like that.

Because it was the very same look that was once only reserved for Jughead.
And in that moment, Jughead felt what you felt that night in Sweetwater River.

He felt replaced; and it sucked.

Jughead decided to move on and so did you.

The both of you accepted the fact that the unthinkable happened: you drifted apart.

Jughead got Betty and he built his own world surrounded by words, mystery, and friendship. He found himself dragged in by the mystery that is the death of Jason Blossom as he and his friends turned every rock in Riverdale in hopes of closing the case. He has found a safe haven filled with the support and love he never knew he needed. He was contented – happy, almost. But every once in a while he still couldn’t help but look at where you were, when he forgets to put his guard up.

You were on the other side.

A whole world away from who you once called your best friend.

You were a Vixen now: the ‘it-girl’, the popular cheerleader who dated the popular jock, surrounded by her popular friends. You were the cliché’ Jughead has always hated. He always thought you couldn’t do it, you couldn’t possibly survive with not being with Jughead, considering you have been tied to the hip since you could barely comprehend what friendship was, but he greatly miscalculated.

You got the favor of Cheryl (Jughead could never understand how) and was taken not under her wing but as her right hand man – as her friend. You stood out in the most socially acceptable way that made you a target for a lot of admiration and respect from the whole town, and whatever you had with Reggie didn’t crash and burn to the ground like Jughead had expected.
Jughead hated it so much.

He really couldn’t blame you since Reggie may not be the smartest guy on the planet but he knew for damn sure how to treat a girl. Jughead doesn’t know if he was mad or relieved that he could not find a single fault that he could reason out as to why Reggie didn’t deserve you because he did. He treated you like a queen and never did anything to upset you. He looks at you as if you were a masterpiece God has ever made and touched you as if you were a fragile rose that would shrivel up if exposed to the slightest ray of harm.

Reggie loved you.
And you loved him.
Jughead hated that the most.

Jughead knew he loved you too when he saw you alone at Pop’s.
It was all too familiar and too close to Jughead’s heart.

You were looking out the window towards the parking lot in front where Jughead was out of view. You were religiously sipping on your milkshake and running your eyes at the buzzing lot in front of you. Your – now short – hair was tucked in both your ears over your shoulders and if Jughead squinted he could almost imagine back when it was long, just the way he loved it.

Jughead could’ve fooled himself. He could’ve just walked right in there, sat at the opposite of you, and started a conversation. Just like before.

But if there were many things that were all too familiar there were also little things that made the equation wrong:

You were wearing a necklace, a thin gold band necklace that had a simple capital ‘R’ as its pendant. It swooped just below your collarbones as you unconsciously toyed with it in your hands. Jughead heard it was an anniversary gift. He also always thought you hated necklaces but he remembered the two of you were the exact example on how drastically things can change.

You were also wearing red lipstick, not blood red, not pink either, it was the perfect shade of red to make it look attracting but natural. The (Y/N) he knew was a strawberry lip-gloss kind of girl.

Your milkshake was vanilla with a strawberry on the side. You used to love chocolate.

Jughead decided to fuck it and walked inside the diner. He obviously caught some people’s attention but he was too busy caring about yours to check who his grand entrance disturbed. You were already looking at him, a bit wide eyed, and Jughead smiled before his brain can scream at him at how much he fucked up.

“Hey.” Your voice was the same, but still so foreign for the many months Jughead was deprived of it. It’s not that he didn’t hear it but it always sounded so different when it was directed just at him.

“Hey,” Jughead cautiously walked towards your booth”, long time, huh?”

“Yeah.”
Jughead’s eyes fell down to your lips as you bit it, obviously trying to hide your smile from how awkward this set-up was.”I never thought the day would come when you and I would have to settle with small talks, Jones.”

“Never thought I’d live to see the day that you’d be wearing that god-awful Vixen uniform, (Y/L/N).”
he shot back, smirking. Now this, the satirical humor and witty comebacks, he can handle. He can handle anything better than the silence you have been giving him for the past year and a half.

“Excuse me,” you placed your hand on your chest in mock offense and Jughead couldn’t help the laugh that went out his mouth. “I look great in this uniform, Jughead.”

“Yes, you do.”
The tension that built up after his statement could’ve been cut with a knife. Your laughter being cut short but Jughead couldn’t care less. He was never one for lying anyway.

“Thanks, Jug.” You looked up at him through your lashes and gave him a shy smile. His heart has never beaten as fast as that moment and he knew he was fucked.

“Hey, do you think we can sha—“

“Hey babe.”

The shadow, the booming voice, and the subtle shove were more than enough to give Jughead a general idea as to who it was. The way your face brightened up and the kiss that followed afterwards was merely a confirmation.

“Hey there, big guy.” Reggie sat beside you, casually placing his hands around your shoulders as you obviously and unconsciously leaned in to him. A streak of pain was literally felt moving in Jughead’s spine but he merely bit his tongue.

He didn’t have the right to be jealous.

Because that could’ve been him but he discarded it. Life was what your choices are, and now he had to live with his.

“Was Edward Scissorhands bothering you?”

“Reg,”
your reprimanding tone made Reggie smirk back at you, dropping his head at the top of your head, as you pushed a pointer finger on his chest.“Play nice, Jughead was just keeping me company because you were late.”

“I’m kidding, just kidding –”

“I’m gonna go,”
Jughead cut Reggie off, already sick of whatever he was seeing. “It was nice talking to you, (Y/N).”

“You too, Jughead.”
You tried to be subtle in the way you elbowed Reggie but his wince gave it away. He gave Jughead a nod as a goodbye anyway, just to appease you. “See you around, man.” Reggie would do anything for you even if he had to slowly bend his pride and ego to Jughead every once in a while.

Jughead barely gave you a glance as he stormed off the damned diner. He made the mistake of looking back to your booth from the windows and saw you leaning on Reggie’s chest, smiling up at him as if he just found the key for world peace.

That could’ve been him, he thought.
He could’ve had that, he knew.
Eighteen years too late, he bitterly remembered.

For you were the home that was lost in his past, and that was where you will stay.

Jughead was exhausted.

Sometimes being an award-winning author does have its disadvantages especially if you were an unforgiving introvert.

But he really couldn’t complain as he walked out of his personal elevator and into his bachelor pad. He checked his personal phone and saw the same text, worded differently, with the same familiar people.

“Are you going to the wedding?”

He decided to respond to Betty. Aside from being his ex-girlfriend, Betty was the closest thing he had to a best friend. He was still stubbornly holding out that position for you. That title will always be just for you.

‘Don’t know.’

He sat on his sofa that was too expensive for his taste but it came with the house so he really had no other choice. The vibration on his phone signaled him of the reply he didn’t want to receive. Clearly, Betty has been waiting.

‘I’m sorry, Juggie.’

The familiar pang immediately went straight through his chest. It was probably the only thing constant in his life after ten years from leaving Riverdale and never looking back.

‘The ceremony will be tomorrow. We’ll be waiting.’

Before the whole world knew about the grand engagement of the famous football superstar Reggie Mantle and her fiancé’ who was a literary professor in Cambridge, he received the call first, the screaming, crying, and the, unfortunately, ecstatic voice of the love of his life as she gushed about the ring, and the proposal, and Reggie.

He tried to be happy.

God knows he did.

But he was pretty sure not even the greatest actors can fake happiness as well as he did when he was pretty sure his soul broke in half.

It didn’t stop breaking even until now.

Not when he can imagine you: still as beautiful as ever, glowing from happiness, wearing a white dress that was made just for you, holding a white bouquet that would make your eyes pop it’s colors, with your hair down and wearing a flower crown made up of your favorite flowers and walking down a white aisle that didn’t end with him.

He never knew God could be so cruel.

Another vibration woke him up from his never-ending agony.

‘She’ll be waiting.’

Jughead stared at his phone.

He sighed, rubbing his eyes with his hands in disbelief. Betty really knew how to push his buttons just right.

Jughead clicked the quick dial for his secretary who, God bless her soul, was probably sleeping already as it was already half past midnight.

“Y-Yes sir? Is there a problem–?”

“Prepare me a jet, a car, and a tux in an hour.”

His obviously half-awake and disheveled secretary was quick to note down everything. “Where – where would the jet be heading, sir?”

Jughead stared at the picture frame on his coffee table that was holding what was left of his biggest ‘could’ve been’.

“A round trip to Riverdale, please.” he muttered, grip tightening on his phone “, and make it quick.”

This was love, he realized, laughing at himself. When your heart is delicate and crumbling and weak but you willingly crush it in the palm of your hands over and over again if it means it would make them happy – happier.

This was love, he repeated like a mantra in his head.

A  love only the broken can have the honor of experiencing.

Ivar x Reader x Hvitserk

“She is taking advantage of you Ivar.” Ubbe said as Ivar refused to listen to his brothers.

“She is not, I would not let her.” Ivar grumbled as he swirled his drink.

“And yet you look after her child and know nothing about where she hurries off to.” Sigurd pointed out with a smirk. “What sort of friend does that when it is so clear how you feel about her.”

Your mum once gave you advice, it wasn’t exactly handy advice at the time and you didn’t really understand why she gave it to you in the first place but you still took it in, still often think about it because it’s some good advice. She once told you that if you ever have an argument with your partner, you should go for a long drive, no destination and no one else just you. It’s meant to help clear your mind, let you drive your feelings out and really think about what was said and what you want to say. You’ve done that, many times, over mostly friends but it worked.

You can’t say it’s working well for Tucker. The closer you got to Las Vegas the angrier you become, the more irrational your thoughts got, you were white-knuckling the steering wheel as you glared at the welcome sign to Las Vegas. You have no idea, how in the hell, Lance got your number and what possessed him to phone you; doesn’t he have friends? A girlfriend? One of his booty-calls that could’ve picked him up?

You pulled up to Caesar Palace, it was a little much. The fountain, the valet that gave a judgemental look at your old Volvo. The outside, although grand, couldn’t compete with the interior design of the palace. The marble floors, the gold lining and decor, and the columns: it was breathtaking. You walked to the reception, oil paintings behind the gold-mirrored desk, everything just screamed pretentious but yet, it was impressive. You pulled the denim jacket you wore closer to your body, the woman grinning from ear-to-ear at you.

“Hello, welcome to Caesars Palace, what can I do for you this morning?” Her name tag stating that her name is Sara.

“Hey, I’m here to pick up a guest, I don’t know what room he is in or if he’s under his name,” she nodded as you looked utterly dumbfounded, “the name is Lance Tucker and he requested me for pick-up, for some reason.” She nodded as she typed onto a keyboard, looking at a screen.

She picked up a phone just beside her and dialled a number, grinning at you as she waited for whoever to pick up the phone, it’s a few short, awkward, seconds of silence. “Hello, Mr Tucker. This is reception calling, a guest is here for you, a young female.” You tap the counter absent-mindedly. “Should I send her up?” is the next question, “she said you were expecting her, okay, I’ll be sure to do so.” Sara puts the phone down, “he’s in one of our penthouse suites, in the Palace Tower, I’ll have someone escort you.”

You followed a young male, a bell-hop, through the building. You had only ever seen pictures of Caesars Palace, it was bigger than you expected, at every turn, there was something to look at and admire. Pools and spas, plus showrooms and obviously, casinos; no wonder Lance came all the way here. You were shown right to the door, where he swiped a keycard and let you in, telling you to enjoy your stay.

The penthouse, well, it was bigger than your entire apartment. It had a balcony the size of your kitchen, bigger from where you were standing. Black marble floors, the furniture looked brand new, and it had its own kitchen; not that you expected Lance to be cooking whilst here since they have Gordon Ramsay’s Bar & Grill. You could see it went off in three different directions; you looked down one hallway, seeing a door slightly ajar, hoping that Lance was somewhat decent you walked down towards it.

You pushed the door open, it was dark with the shutters down and a body was laid in bed, you assumed it was Tucker.

“Tucker, wake up!” You yelled and heard him grumble his reply, a muffled ‘fuck you’ being thrown in. “No, get the fuck up, I didn’t drive all the way here for you to treat me like shit. Get up now!” You flicked the light switch on, you could just see his brown, messy hair from under the plush duvets before you walked back out of the room calling his name again.

You sat on the barstool when Lance finally emerges, eyes still half shut and squinting against the bright lights, his hair a mess and only grey sweat pants that were hanging low on his hips; how the hell was they staying up was a good question. His eyebrows were furrowed as he looked at you, he blinked rapidly as he sat on the cream sofa.

“Why the fuck are you here?” He asked, voice still hoarse from just waking up and scratchy from whatever drinks he consumed last night when he texted you.

You sighed with annoyance. “Of course, drunk texts, I shouldn’t have bothered. You text me asking for me to come get you, you threatened my job.” He was still frowning before he sighed, head falling into his hands as his elbows rested on his knees. “Why did you call me? Don’t you have friends to come get you? Aren’t they here with you?” You glanced around, looking back at the hunched over Lance.

“You’d be the only one that would actually show up, you need your job,” he muttered, “it was an easy bribe.” He lifted his head, hands covering his mouth as he stared right at the blank flat screen TV. “I drank a lot last night.” He sighed to mostly himself.

You crossed your arms, “I’ll bite the bait,” he looked at you with an unreadable expression. “Why did you need me to come pick you up, you’re in Las Vegas, isn’t this your ideal hunting ground?” His lips curved up at that comment but set back into a frown; he slouched against the back of the sofa, arms crossing over his chest.

“…I came here for an event, it’s kind of a big deal but…” he trailed off, a look you haven’t ever seen on Lance before, well, he never really showed anything but a smirky confident idiot. This was different, by far, it was shyness and embarrassment. “My parents are here, celebrating my father, forty-six years of being in the sports industry.” An edge of bitterness harshened his words, he wasn’t looking at you but you could tell he felt vulnerable; exposing a side of him like this.

“Isn’t this meant to be a fun occasion? A party?” He rolled his steely blue eyes at you, chuckling lightly at that.

He shakes his head, “You haven’t met my parents. You hate me, you would loathe them, I can’t stand the bastard and my mum isn’t any better. I guess, last night it got to me.” It’s silent, “You should probably go. Before they get back, don’t speak of this, to anyone. Got it?”

Before you can answer that the penthouse’s front door opens. A couple walks through, talking amongst themselves, the older male looks a little like Lance but the woman looked a little young to be his mother, maybe his sister?

The male had slicked back, dark hair, and piercing, hooded eyes with a grey suit. He was old, obviously but he was tall and very lean, clearly he still kept in shape despite his age. The woman beside him was small, tanned and young, you could say, younger than you! She was skinny, really skinny but had great… assets. You weren’t one to judge but you felt insecure in front of this girl.

Lance’s P.O.V

“Harry, you’re up.” Lance froze on the spot at the sound of his father’s voice, he glanced to you for a moment before turning swiftly around and meeting his father’s piercing gaze. “I’ve come to collect you for lunch, your mother has arrived and insisted we all gather,” he didn’t sound to keen on the idea, not that Lance was but, at least he could stand to be around his mother.

It takes a few seconds for Lance to remember how to speak, “Uhh yeah, it must’ve slipped my mind,” he runs a hand through his hair messily before turning back to you. “I was just saying goodbye to my…friend, then I’ll get dressed.” He nods for you to stand up, beckoning you quickly to the door before you could be roped into his messed up life.

“And here I thought you’ve changed,” Lance’s father began and made you stop in your tracks, Lance sighs heavily. “Why can’t you find a nice girl, instead of these groupies, life isn’t about alcohol and fucking, Harry.”

“Spare me the lecture, you’re the one that cheated, not mum.” Lance snapped back, “she isn’t a groupie either, she’s… working for me,” he doesn’t have to look at you to know how uncomfortable you are, he can feel it.

Harry Senior, shakes his head. “Hookers don’t work for you, Harry.” Lance hears you scoff at the mention of the word hooker, he wants to laugh, he’s been with and seen hookers; you were definitely not one of those.

“She’s not a hooker, babe.” Sabrina, his new wife smiles, “that’s his girlfriend, obviously. He didn’t want you to know, meeting the parents is always scary, look at how protective he got over her.” Lance watched as his dad’s posture changed, straightening his back as he glanced you over, analysing you and Lance didn’t like that.

“That’s quite the accusation, he hasn’t had a girlfriend in years, is she your girlfriend?” The stare he received after the question had Lance stammering for an answer, apparently, the word ‘no’ no longer existed.

“Yes, she is.” Lance found himself saying in a moment of weakness, “I…-” he’s cut off by his dad, who walks around him and to you, extending a hand your way.

“Harry Tucker, the third,” you look at Lance over his father’s shoulders with wide eyes, raised eyebrows and a look of shock. “This is my wife, Sabrina.”

Lance watches as you shake his dad’s hand in silence for a few seconds, “Uh-I’m Y/N Y/L/N.” His dad stares at Lance, as you hug Sabrina, his eyes are piercing through him almost. He recognised that look, the same look he received when he won that silver once; disappointment and disgust. You weren’t good enough for his son or maybe, that’s just how his dad looks at him, neither answer would surprise him.

“You should accompany us to lunch,” Lance already begins to excuse you from that awkwardness, “nonsense, I insist. She must meet your mother, get dressed, we’re leaving in twenty minutes.” Harry nods before opening the door and leaving with Sabrina behind him.

It’s silent as Lance watches the door close, not really believing what had happened just now, it only becomes reality when you start yelling at him. He didn’t really have any excuse other than his dad scared the shit out of him, he could never form a sentence around him and he was always intimidated, even as a child; the way his dad would glare if he messed up, you’d think he would have become the perfect son.

“I don’t know what just happened,” Lance admitted quickly, “he’s just really intimidating sometimes, I couldn’t think and… you should’ve left when I told you to.”

Oh, so it’s my fault.” You asked, E/C eyes full of rage, “I didn’t come here to play your girlfriend, Lance, or should I say… Harry!” You poked his chest firmly, he slapped your hand away with a slight glare. “Fuck, Lance, I can’t stay here. I can’t have lunch and meet your parents, this is insane. You have, to tell the truth,” you panic to him.

Lance exhales slowly, biting his lip as he thinks everything over. “Okay, listen, I can’t tell my dad I lied. He’ll give me the lecture, it’s one weekend, one lunch. I’ll… pay you!”

“I’m not pretending to be your girlfriend, Lance Tucker.” He rolls his eyes, “you know how stupid this sounds? One day ago you couldn’t stand me, now I’m here being asked to be your fake girlfriend and get paid…this is ridiculous,” Lance crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow. “How much?”

“How much do you want?”

Lance watches as you debate a little with yourself. “I’ve got to buy new books, at least, four hundred dollars worth.” Lance frowns, “I don’t want to ask for too much and have you laugh at me for it.”

“I’ll round it up to five hundred, think of it has compensation. You don’t mention this to anyone, got it? Last I need is you running your mouth,” you shrug and Lance finally looks at you for real. You’re in a denim jacket plus blue skinny jeans, your hair up and hardly any make-up, you’re pretty but not dressed correctly. “You got clothes with you? Like a dress?” You shake your head and he sighs.

“What’s wrong with my outfit?” You place a hand on your hip jutting it out with a sour expression; your attitude was going to be a problem too but he couldn’t fix that.

“Everything, you can’t have lunch with my mother and be dressed like that,” he walks off and towards his room. “I’ll have the hotel send something up, what’s your size?” He turns and looks at you, “nevermind, you’re like a ten. Do something with your hair,” he slips back into his room, hearing you follow behind him.

**

Lance paces in front of the walk-in wardrobe doors, hearing you grumble to yourself about the dress and him, mostly him. He hated that you were roped into this, his life, it was embarrassing and humiliating. He tried, so hard, to remove himself from his home life because of his father. The man was cold, cruel and manipulative, everything that Lance tried to not be but ended up being like his mother; competitive, in every sense of the word and egotistical.

Growing up with Harrison Tucker as a father was torture. Lance had to be like him, he had to be a great athlete, the best. Even that isn’t good enough; he wins one silver amongst his many golds and instantly he’s a failure.

“So, you’re name is Harry?” He hears your voice through the doors.

“Yeah, after my dad and his dad, and his dad before him.” Lance rolls his eyes, crossing his arms, “It’s like some stupid tradition, my middle name is Lancelot, my mother liked it and I decided since there’s already one Harry Tucker on the scene.” He explained leaning against the wall as he waited for you.

It’s a few silent seconds. “And the woman beside your dad… guessing, not your sister.”

He laughed loudly. “No, definitely not. My parents divorced when I was sixteen, he was messing around with a young gymnast, of age, not that it mattered. Anyway, Sabrina is his third or fourth wife. My mum always turns up to his awards because she thinks it’s important for us to still be a family, she’s twisted that way,” He shrugs to himself, “she was always better at business relationships than actual relationships; I rarely see her outside her office,” he trails off and stares at the wall ahead.

“That sounds rough,” he hears the doors slide open, “explains a lot about you, to be honest.” He rolls his eyes and glances at you, raising his eyebrows. “What’d ya think? Will this fool them now?”

Shamelessly he let his eyes trail over your body, he may still hate you, but he wasn’t one to pass up the opportunity of appreciating a female’s body. The bodycon dress was a royal blue, off the shoulder and mid-length, it fit you perfectly, a little too perfectly. When he, finally, let his eyes drift back to yours, you were glaring a little, only making his cocky grin grow.

“I’m setting rules,” he raised an eyebrow at that, “No getting too handsy; an arm around the waist is my limit, Tucker. I am not kissing you, ever, even being your fake girlfriend. Are we clear?” You asked sternly, he shrugged a shoulder in reply, “No, are we clear? I can leave, right now and not help you. I guess, your father already told your mother that you have a girlfriend, so are we clear?”

“Fucking Christ, we’re good. I don’t want to kiss you anyway, even faking it.” He watched as you rolled your E/C eyes at him, brushing a piece of Y/H/C hair behind your ear. “Let’s go, they’re waiting for us.”

He leads you out of the door and to the elevators, a nervous fluttering happening in his stomach. He always got like this when having to be around his parents, it was heightened a lot more with you next to him, having anyone meet his parents was sickening. He always avoided it, never told them when he had girlfriends because they’d run for the hills; if it wasn’t because of them getting fed up his arrogant ways, his parents would chase them off, for sure.

“I’m nervous,” you admit to him and he scoffed, hiding his own behind the facade he built himself. “I’ve never had to meet someone’s parents before.” He frowned and looked down at you, you didn’t look at him, eyes remaining on the elevator doors. “It’s only for lunch, I’m actually a good actor, I got an A for theatre in school.” You mainly told yourself.

“Why are you doing this?” He asked abruptly, you finally looked up at him but the doors open before you can answer, people waiting for you to walk out. He sighs gently and escorts you through the crowd and towards the outside pool, where his parents are meeting for lunch.

The sun shines on the beautiful pool, people splashing and swimming around, more sunbathing on the loungers. His eyes land on a table by the bar, his father and mother sat, not talking as Sabrina yaps away about something uninteresting. His eyes connect with his mother’s, who smiles brightly and she hadn’t changed a day. She had aged, grey hairs that were mostly caused by the stress, blue eyes like his and an infectious smile- like yours- he shook that thought away.

“Lancelot,” she called and waved, standing up and walking to him. He met her with a hug, you trailing behind. “Look how you’ve grown,” she grinned looking at her son, “you look so handsome, of course, my genetics.” He chuckled at that, “I’m angry with you, by the way,” she tells him and he frowns. “I had to hear from your father that you’ve got a girlfriend! Hello, dear, I’m Erin.” He rolls his eyes as his mother pulls you in for a hug.

“Harry wasn’t supposed to meet her, she came as a last minute thing for me,” Lance explained, only being ignored as his mother fusses over you with a happy smile, taking your hand and leading you to the table. He trailed behind helping both, you and his mother, into chairs before sitting beside you.

It was awkward as his mother ordered more drinks, a sly comment of her drinking habits from his father, this was going to be the worst experience of his life.

“So, how did you two meet? I want details.” His mother grins and Lance chokes a little on his drink, shit, he hadn’t thought about the questions she would ask.

(I had to cut this because it became too long, that’s why it ended kinda choppy. Anyway, I got this idea from my friend Amber, my original idea has altered, meaning instead of ten chapters it’s gonna be around twenty; thank her for that lol. Let me know what you think, so far. - Rosalee)
