our love is war

remember carrie fisher and how she survived an industry that viewed women as sex objects, remember carrie fisher and how she openly spoke about mental illness and drug addiction and never sugarcoat it, remember carrie fisher for being an inspiring role model for girls everywhere, remember her and carry on her legacy forever.

carrie fisher was so much more than just princess leia and her bikini suit. she was a talented script doctor for many famous 90s movies but never was properly credited. she was the only girl in an all boys fantasy. she didn’t care about how people viewed her. she fought again sexism, against ageism, against hate. she was amazing, down-to-earth, aspiring, talented, an advocate for mental health, and a brilliant actor who wasn’t just princess leia.

i know how upset everyone is - i’m upset too. when i heard the news i couldn’t stop crying for half an hour. she was a role model to me, to girls everywhere. but it’s important to remember that she would’ve told us to save our tears for someone else and not worry about her. she is smiling now and wouldn’t want us to die over her. we have to remember that star wars is all about embracing death - never fearing it. and i feel like, in her last moments, she embraced it.

she was a brave women, and one who cared.

don’t forget carrie fisher. don’t forget her wit and intelligence and humor and compassion. carry on her legacy for generations. make her memory last forever.

Me after seeing Civil War.

I’m really loving the theme lately with big budget film and TV projects in the ‘nerds and nostalgia’ genre having White Male Entitlement as the villain

Mad Max asked who killed the world

their answer was 'toxic masculinity’

Jessica Jones answered with 'rape culture’

and Star Wars threw in 'entitled, privileged white dudes with nostalgiaboners for eras of extreme oppression for everyone else’

could we ask for a more accurate unholy trinity, or a better group to be putting this shit on blast??

George Lucas’ Statement On Carrie Fisher

“Carrie and I have been friends most of our adult lives. She was extremely smart; a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved.

In Star Wars she was our great and powerful princess—feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think. My heart and prayers are with Billie, Debbie and all Carrie’s family, friends and fans.”

So everyone was raving about how Luke was only in TFA for like 20 seconds and said nothing but can we actually talk about this.

He is missing, no one knows where he is, only Han sort of knows why, but there are no details. I was almost as desperate as Leia was to find him. Because he’s our Luke Skywalker, the original hero, and he’s not just our hero, but theirs. Rey literally thought he was a myth, no one knows anything about him, apart from us. I don’t know about you but I felt strangely close to him because of this.

And then everything goes up in flames and I am sat there in the cinema like “Luke please just come and save us.” I felt almost angry, but then R2 wakes up and they have the map and Rey goes to him, and then I understood.

The look on his face. I had prayed he would come and save everyone, but look at his face because he couldn’t. Luke Skywalker, who always has to save everybody. Who faced Darth Vader and the Empire to save a girl he’d seen in a hologram he didn’t even know. Who fearlessly saw the best in Vader when no one else would.

He looks so utterly defeated, like life has beaten him down and he’s been unable to do anything about it. That pure grief on his face as he looks at Rey holding his father’s lightsaber, his first lightsaber, made me feel so incredibly guilty. Because heroes hurt too. Like Han said, “Luke blamed himself.” ‘And whilst heroes are busy saving everyone, who saves them?

Mark Hamill’s acting in this scene moved me to tears. It is some of the best I have ever seen.

He didn’t need to say a word.

Yagami siblings through time ♥

Lowkey considering changing my bio to “if your argument starts with any variation on ‘it’s just fiction, so it doesnt matter’ please just save us both some time and don’t talk to me, because nothing you say after that will be anything I agree with”

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.”  – Yoda

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
‭‭‬ ‭

Psalm‬ ‭118:29

“Endure” meaning “suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently” or “remain in existence; last”.
His love suffers through our pain, our trials, our tribulations, our rebellions, our misdeeds, our lost battles, our gaping wounds.
His love remains in existence long after the war is won, after the tears have dried, after the shouting is over, after the sun sets, after it rises again.
It lasts through time, hurt, doubt, fear, heartbreak, happiness, hardship, remorse, regret, instability, oppression, joy, comfort, excitement, depression, dread, and death.
Give thanks for God’s love endures forever, for you.
