I just caught up on OUAT and I desperately want Belle to kill the Black Fairy. I want Belle to protect Rumple & Gideon a la Molly Weasley with a “Not my family you bitch!” & then stab the BF in the face with that sword like Eowyn did the Witch King.
Belle deserves the chance to protect her son and fight alongside her husband. Belle, Rumple, and Gideon all deserve a win. I don’t care if Emma is the savior. I have zero interest in watching the “heroes” get all the credit like usual.
Summary: “You’re the one person who can do my elaborate stage makeup, so every night you spend half an hour in close proximity to my face and I want to kiss you so badly.” Killian is an actor and Emma is his makeup artist.
This one-shot is inspired by the prompt above from @cs-prompts combined with Jen and Colin’s interview and spoilers at aTVFest.
Killian sat anxiously in his chair while his makeup artist made the preparations for the various makeup and brushes she would be using on him. Emma Swan was the only person who did his makeup flawlessly while at the same time, making it seem effortless. She made him the best looking Captain Hook there ever was, although it did help that she had a great canvas to work with.
“Ready for your makeup?” She asked him in a tone that was sweet and polite. He gave a nod and let out a long, shaky breath in anticipation. She picked a makeup sponge and leaned in to apply the foundation over his facial prosthetic. It never ceased to amaze him how unwavering her hands were and how she seemed to get lost in what she was doing.
During his six years of being a cast member of the television series ‘The Lost Boys’ he’d been through many makeup artists and was never satisfied with any of them. Emma had started off doing the makeup for Robbie, who played Peter Pan and Killian had witnessed and saw how talented she was and eventually requested Emma for himself. Now that Killian was wearing more elaborate makeup as an older version of Hook, it was crucial to have the right person for the job. Emma had made his facial prosthetic from scratch and was adamant about making every detail of his face look perfect. And it didn’t hurt that he had a work of art to look at while he sat and let her work her magic.
One of my favourite Rumpelstiltskin moments. You can see the hopefulness in his eyes and it’s like he’s also waiting for her to reject him, like everyone else has, but Belle doesn’t. Robert Carlyle is an amazing actor because he can portray so many feelings in one look.
Please be aware that although the most spoilerish photos have been held back until after the S6 finale airs in order to preserve some degree of surprise, the set above is still heavily spoilerish - proceed at your own risk.
I would ask you to note that this was a very poor night for shooting photos - the conditions ranged from dark to wet and the angles and sight lines were terrible. As such, many of these are grainy or out of focus - apologies for that. The vast majority of these have not been edited (a few have to make them more clear or to get rid of set lights). As such, you should feel free to clean them up how you would like. As always, I just ask that you are respectful to all of the actors.
I am not here to tell anybody how to feel. If you’re upset, or hopeful, or angry, or excited, feel your feelings. I am here to talk about how I am feeling.
I, personally, just feel indifferent? It took quite a few days for me to get past my incredulity over the decisions being made before I realized: I have not been here for the source material in a long time.
Fandom, I’m here for your work.
I’m here for the amazing fan art. I’m here for the fics I’ve read about 15,000 times, and the new ones being released every day. I’m here for every post lamenting the characters that deserved better, the headcanons about background characters, the theories over backstories we’ll never hear or see, and the fix-it fics for when canon is being dumb. The ridiculously gorgeous gif sets. The hilarious gif sets. All the gif sets. The parodies. The fan videos. All of it. This fandom is so endlessly creative and I am so proud to have been even a small part of it with all of you.
Like, look, I will miss watching Captain Swan on my screen, but other than the bits involving my ship, I haven’t been enjoying the series in a long time (I’ve made that so, so clear). It will actually be a nice change of pace to not have to watch flashbacks of bb!Emma suffering anymore, or another plotline where CS is separated for no good reason.
And I’m not saying anybody else should feel this way. This isn’t about saying people are reacting wrong. Basically no matter how you’re feeling about what’s going on right now, you’re right. There’s no one right way to look at this.
I just wanted to take this time, amidst everything that’s going on, to take a moment and let all the fandom creators out there know how much I have appreciated all of their hard work over the years, and how grateful I am. The writers and actors may have created these characters (and especially with the actors we were so lucky to have them), but it was your work with them over the years are what have kept this fandom alive and growing. You guys are all amazing. Thank you for these last 4+ years. I genuinely am hoping that no matter what happens this weekend and beyond, that it isn’t enough to kill the creativity and passion everybody has brought.

1. Note there’s also adult!Henry and a girl that is supposed to be introduced in 6x21/22 for the setup of Season 7.
2. Actors that were reportedly ‘invited’ in negotiations were JMo, Colin, Lana and Bobby, which hinted at who the ‘main players’ going forward were.
It may mean a more focused storyline, with a smaller cast. While it may end up helping the show as a story telling unit, losing Emma Swan (and if Colin stays, what the means to Killian Jones and how they write around that while keeping him a lead) is going to be a big blow to the show. It’s also highly like that the show, if unable to draw in new audiences, will be cancelled at the end of Season 7, once ratings drop as initial curiosity is sated as to ‘how did they continue without Emma Swan and what happened to Captain Swan, everyone else etc”
