otp: she has a way of getting what she wants

Penelope & Derek’s Matchmaking Service

Prompt: The reader and Reid both have a crush on the other person but are too scared of ruining their friendship to tell the other person. Penelope decided to give them a little push and drags Derek into her mischevious scheme.

A/N: This was an idea that popped into my head because I could definitely see Morgan and Garcia meddling in their coworkers love lives. I’m not opposed to making a part two of this, so let me know if that’s something that you would want. Also, anyone who can catch the subtle F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reference that is in here somewhere is my favorite person ever. Enjoy :)

Penelope sighed in frustration as she watched you and Spencer alternate staring at each other. It was almost painful the way that neither of you actually caught the other doing so. It was like some form of fate caused you to look away a second before Spencer decided to look up. Derek noticed her standing in the doorway. “Hey Baby Girl,” he called and walked over to her. She muttered a “hello” before huffing and crossing her arms. “Whoa whoa whoa, what’s the matter gorgeous? Those processing systems in that big brain of yours hung up on something?”

“How does it not drive you crazy?” she mumbled and Morgan raised an eyebrow at her.

“How does what not drive me crazy?”

“The two of them!” she whisper-shouted and spun around walking off toward her lair. Derek rolled his eyes, but obediently followed her down the hall.

“Gonna need a little more information sweetness,” he told her, leaning against the doorframe.

“Oh c’mon, do I need to spell it out for you? (Y/N) and Spencer. The way those two are pining after each other it’s both sickening and sweet at the same time. I’m not even a profiler and I can tell that they are head over heels. I mean I know (Y/N) is because she told me one night when I got her super drunk with the intent of forcing the information out of her, but that is beside the point,” Penelope explained as she pulled up the bullpen’s security video feed and maneuvered the cameras so they were facing you and Spencer’s desks.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m people watching.”

“Do you do this all the time?” Morgan asked standing behind her chair.

“Only when we don’t have a case or anything else to do,” Penelope defended, “You would not believe how boring it gets in here and you people never come visit me!”

“But why- you know what nevermind. Just please tell me that you don’t mess with the cameras in my office.”

“My vision, you are the object of my affection but for the most part my attentions have been focussed on my current OTP as you never do anything interesting in your office.”

“Forgive me for actually doing work instead of making googly eyes at my coworkers.”

“So you have noticed!”

“Of course I’ve noticed. The whole team has noticed. The only ones in the dark about it are the two of them,” Derek chuckled. Penelope smiled as she watched the two of you. You had gone over to ask Spencer something, but he had been so focused on his work you’d startled him and he’d almost spilled his coffee all over himself.

“They are so cute,” she sighed, “Derek I want my OTP to be together!”

“Somehow I don’t think we get a vote or have the power to make that happen,” he replied, kissing the top of her head. Penelope suddenly perked up.

“But what if we did?”

“What are you talking about?” he asked as she spun her chair around.

“What if there was a way that we could force Reid’s hand and make him admit something or ask her out?”

“Baby Girl, Reid has specifically told me that he doesn’t want me messing with this. You think I haven’t tried to get him to make a move?”

“He told you that, but he never told me,” she chirped, turning back toward her computer and started typing away. She pulled up a website for custom floral arrangements and started clicking on various options.

“What are you doing?”

“Creating something that all of you men hate. Competition,” she replied, patting the side of his face. A few more minutes of meddling the order had been placed, ready to be delivered tomorrow morning.

“Why do I get the feeling I’m going to be the one he blames for this?” Derek sighed shaking his head.

“Ha, do not worry my vision. If all goes bad, we pretend like it never happened,” Penelope told him.

You walked into the bullpen the next morning smiling happily as you carried two cups of coffee. You glanced around looking for Spencer, before nonchalantly setting one of the cups down on his desk and arranged the mountain of sugar packets you’d also brought into an orderly pile. You quickly scurried back to your desk and sat down, trying to look casual as you waited for Spencer to arrive. “No coffee for the rest of us, I’m genuinely hurt,” Derek teased, as he sat down on your desk.

“Hey, the only order I remember is Spence’s because it’s the easiest thing ever: a large black coffee and then just bring the whole container of sugar to him,” you replied trying to casually look around him.

“Uh huh,” Morgan muttered, clearly unconvinced.

“Good morning,” Reid said as he walked over to his desk past the two of you.

“Hi, Spencer,” you chirped, “I stopped for coffee this morning and brought you some.”

“Thank you so much, you would not believe the morning I’ve had. How much do I owe you?”

“Don’t worry about it,” you replied tucking your hair behind your ear.

“Well, thank you. Did you know that coffee was banned three times in three different cultures: once in Mecca in the 16th century, once when Charles II in Europe banned the drink in an attempt to quiet an ongoing revolution, and once when Frederick the Great banned coffee in Germany in 1677 because he was concerned people were spending too much money on the drink,” he rambled. You smiled and shoved Morgan off of your desk, so you could actually see Spencer.

“Well, I didn’t know that, but I do know that banning coffee should be a crime,” you giggled. Reid smiled back at you and opened his mouth to say something but suddenly went pale. “What’s-”

“I have a delivery for a Miss (Y/N) (Y/L/N),” a man said cutting you off.

“That would be me,” you replied, turning around. “What can..I..do..” you stuttered as you came face to face with a huge vase of lilies and red roses.

“Sign here please,” the delivery man said, handing you a clipboard and setting the vase down on your desk. You scribbled your signature down on the form and handed it back to the man. “Have a nice day,” he said walking away.

“Yeah, you too,” you muttered still too focussed on your flowers.

“Oh my god, those are gorgeous,” JJ mentioned as she walked over to your desk.

“Who are they from?” Emily asked, joining the two of you.

“I have no idea,” you replied, pulling the card off the side of the vase.

“Read it,” JJ urged leaning in closer. None of you noticed that Spencer had unconsciously leaned closer to the group as well trying to listen.

“Nothing can ever compare to your beauty, but these flowers are certainly a nice way to compliment it. I hope these make that lovely smile of yours appear on your face, signed your secret admirer,” you read out loud and closed the card.

“Oooh, this is interesting,” Emily said nudging your shoulder.

“Any idea who it could be?” JJ asked.

“Not a clue,” you replied, sitting back down in your chair, “I’m not seeing anyone and no one has asked me out recently.”

“Anyone who you hope it is?”

“Yeah, but considering he hasn’t shown the slightest sign of interest I’m pretty sure it isn’t him,” you mumbled. Unbeknownst to you, Spencer had wandered away into the break room fuming. This happened every time he’d finally work up the courage to ask you out on a date or flirt with you at all something would happen. Morgan would come interrupt,  Hotch would suddenly announce that you had a case, or in this case, some jerk would write you poetry and send you flowers. He downed the rest of the coffee that you had bought him and started making another cup.

“You ok, Pretty Boy?” Derek asked watching Spencer stir the coffee quite angrily.

“Just peachy,” Spencer growled.

“Ya know, you could just ask her out. (Y/N) has no idea who sent her those flowers,” Derek casually mentioned.

“Ha yeah right, I’m reasonably certain she’d rather have fancy flower man whoever he is,” he grumbled.

“Fancy flower man? Really Reid, that’s the best you can come up with?” Derek asked trying not to laugh.

“I have plenty of other vulgar things I could call him so don’t push it.”

“Hey, I’m not the one encroaching on your girl, but I would recommend you do something about it before you loose her to fancy flower man.”

“You think I should what?”

“Well, you’re her friend. I’m pretty sure you can find a way to top the giant array of flowers that he sent her.”

“I definitely could,” Spencer muttered, deep in thought, “I need to get to work but first I’m going to get Garcia to figure out who sent those to her.”

“Uh,” Derek stuttered, trying to come up with a way to divert him, “Why does it matter who it is? You should be more concerned with your plan to woo her, you can worry about who it was later.”

“You’re right. I’m going to take my lunch early. I need to go get a few things,” Spencer said and quickly rushed back to his desk to grab his wallet. Derek sighed in relief, happy that he’d managed to redirect Reid’s thought process, and made himself a cup of coffee. Your sudden presence in the break room caught his attention. “And where are you going lady of the hour?” he asked sipping his coffee.

“I’m grabbing another sugar for my coffee and then I’m going to get Garcia to find out who this admirer person is.” Derek did a spit take and started coughing. “Whoa, you ok?”

“Yes, yes, I’m fine. But maybe you should just let this play out? See if he reveals himself to you?”

“Derek, I just want to know who it is so I can tell him I’m not interested. There’s only one guy who’s attention I want and he seems to not really care.”

“Sweetness, Reid is a great guy just a little awkward and shy when it comes to ladies, you might try being a bit more obvious about it,” he teased. You furrowed your brow and slowly turned your head toward him.

“How did you know I have a crush on Spencer?”

“I’m a profiler and I’m really good at my job.” Derek replied.

“Yeah sometimes I forget what we do for a living.”

“And the fact that Penelope can’t keep her mouth shut,” he muttered quietly to himself. Just not quiet enough.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing!”

“I’m going to kill her!” you growled and stormed off toward Penelope’s office.

“No no no, wait!” Derek shouted as he chased after you. You tore the door open and walked in.

“Hello my lovely, what can I do for you today?” Penelope chirped. You narrowed your eyes at her before flicking her on the side of the head.

“OW!” she shrieked. “What was that for?”

“I cannot believe you told Derek that I like Spencer. I told you that in confidence and you swore you wouldn’t tell another soul,” you fumed.

“Technically you told me that while you were drunk.”

“Same thing!”

“But you know I tell my chocolate thunder everything, so you should’ve expected this.”

“Ugh, my life is over,” you whined. “Spencer is still acting weird and now some stranger has sent me flowers. Can you make yourself useful and tell me who sent those at least?”

“I take offense to that comment!”

“Who told shared a secret that she swore she would take to the grave?”

“Fine,” she muttered, “but I already know who sent them. I looked it up earlier.”

“Then who is it?”

“It’s uh, Brian in payroll,”

“Brian in payroll?”

“Mhm,” she mumbled, twisting a piece of hair around her finger.

“Uh huh, does Brian in payroll have a last name?” you asked crossing your arms.

“Yes, yes he definitely does.”

“Yeah? What it is then?”

“Well, I can tell you that it is most certainly not Morgan or Garcia.”

“Penelope,” you groaned. “Why would you do that?”

“I’m just trying to spice it up, you know force our dearest doctor’s hand.”

“Yes and in doing that you’ve managed to scare him. He took off fifteen minutes ago,” you grumbled flopping down in the chair beside her.

“Aw, sweets it’s gonna be ok.”

“My life is over.”

“Hey look on the bright side, at least you got some bitchin flowers,” she said trying to lighten the mood. You lifted your head and glared at her.

“Not funny.”

“(Y/N), you need to get back to your desk and take a look at this,” Derek said as he walked into Penelope’s office.

“And you! You knew she was going to do this and you didn’t stop her,” you growled and stalked over to him, poking his chest.

“As upset as you are right now, I really think you should just go back to your desk. You might like what you find,” Derek replied pushing your hand away. You narrowed your eyes at him.

“If this is another part of this BS plan you two have going on, I’m going to kill you both,” you grumbled, stalking down the hallway.

“What are you doing?” Penelope whispered at Derek, as they followed you.

“Just watch,” he replied with a smug look on his face. You were expecting to see yet another bouquet of flowers that the two of them had sent to you, but you certainly weren’t expecting this. Your desk was scattered with various pieces of paper and rose petals. A large white teddy bear was sitting in your chair with a bouquet of gardenias nestled in its arms and a bag of (Y/F/C) tucked in beside it. You stood rooted in place out of surprise until Derek gave you a slight nudge. You walked forward and picked up one of the pieces of paper. You smiled as you recognized Spencer’s handwriting and started reading. It was a poem by Christina Rossetti, one of your favorites actually “I loved you first”. You had talked about this with Spencer months ago, when you both discovered your shared love of poetry. From the looks of it, he had managed to write down all of your favorite poems on these little notes (probably including a few of his own favorites) and put them all over your desk. You plucked the bouquet of gardenias out of the bear’s arms and smelled them.

“Red roses traditionally symbolize love and passion while gardenias’ symbolize pure, secret love which more accurately displays how I feel about you,” Spencer mumbled from behind you. You immediately spun around and dropped the bouquet back in your chair, before throwing your arms around his neck and crashing your lips into his. He seemed to be stunned for a few seconds, before kissing you back and wrapping his arms around your waist. Hoots and hollers came from all around the office, mainly from Penelope and Emily. You separated a little breathlessly and rested your forehead against his. The pair of you were smiling from ear to ear. “Please tell me this isn’t a dream,” he muttered closing his eyes.

“Nope,” you replied popping the “p”, “I’m real.”

“So I take it you like me too or else I think you’ve been sending some very mixed signals.” You chuckled and kissed him again.

“Does that answer your question?” you asked, after you’d pulled back.

“I think it does, and to think I had a whole speech planned out to make you at least go on one date with me,” he replied scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. You just shook your head and smiled at him.

“That’s so sweet, but how on earth did you have time to set this up? I couldn’t have been gone more than fifteen minutes,” you said, turning slightly to look at your desk,

“14 minutes and 23 seconds actually, but I’ve had the notes sitting in my bag for about a week now,” he told you.

“Ok, that’s enough, back to work all of you,” Hotch said, commotion having finally drawn him out of his office. There was a collective “sorry” muttered from around the office, before Hotch turned his attention to the two of you. “Do we need to have a conversation or can I trust that this isn’t going to affect work?”

“I think we’re good,” you answered.

“Good, now I need to call Dave and inform him that he owes me twenty bucks as do the two of you,” Hotch chuckled motioning JJ and Emily. The two women groaned slightly before reaching for their purses.

“Wait, what?” Spencer asked raising an eyebrow, keeping his arms wrapped around your waist.

“To make a long story short, we started a pool going for how long it would take the two of you to get together after three months of watching the two of you flirt. I had yesterday, Hotch had today, Rossi had tomorrow, and JJ had next Monday,” Emily explained as she walked up the stairs and handed the money to Hotch, who gladly pocketed it and went back in his office to presumably call Rossi who was off on vacation time.

“I cannot believe this! How many people in this office are invloved in our love lives?” you cried in frustration, even though you were smiling.

“Wait, who else is involved in our love life?” Spencer asked, looking down at you confused.

“And that’s our cue to run chocolate thunder,” Penelope muttered, as she took off running dragging Derek along behind her. You shook your head and laughed, all irritation suddenly vanishing.

“Wonder what that was about,” Reid thought out loud, as you unwound from his arms and moved all his gifts out of your chair.

“Don’t worry about it, just remind me to tell Brian from payroll to send her some flowers,” you told him. He looked very confused but just shrugged and kissed your forehead. You grinned up at him, knowing that this was the start of one of the best times in your life.

Ok, so sorry to bother you but I've been a Grisha fan for threes years and picked up the last book of Ruining and Rising a little late. My favorite characters are Alina, Nikolai and the Darkling. Please Nikolina is way better than Mal. I'm getting a feeling as if Mal is characterless, and cold. Like I would love for Nikolina to happen but she's propably gonna end up with Mal anyways and my Nikolai is gonna be alone... -Lonely anon that needs someone to rant to

You’re not bothering me anon! But as a head’s up I should probably let you know that I might not be the best person to come to if you’re looking for someone to talk negatively about Mal. I love Nikolai a lot, but Mal is also one of my favourite characters in the series

I definitely have to disagree with the idea that Mal is either characterless or cold. He has moments of speaking coldly to Alina, for sure, but his personality is pretty passionate overall. He’s someone who deserted (an executionable offence) for the sake of Alina, despite the fact that they parted previously on bad terms (which was the fault of both of them). That’s a pretty passionate thing to do.

His character arc in Seige and Storm is pretty much the opposite of lacking character. He definitely behaves like a total jackass, and I don’t think there’s any excusing that at all. But there is a very good explanation. Mal isn’t Grisha. He’s used to being the golden boy in the relationship with Alina, the one who gets the attention while she’s the mousey girl who gets overlooked. The entire second book for Mal reflects his struggle to deal with the abrupt one-eighty in this relationship.

It’s not an attractive arc for him in much of the book. Jealousy, and people’s reaction to losing someone they love (and he is losing the Alina he has known for most of his life in book 2) seldom is. But it’s also a pretty natural way to react to the situation they’re in? It’s not admirable, but I’d argue that’s what gives Mal character. It’d be a pretty passive and boring guy who just rolled over and did nothing in the face of such a massive change in the girl he loves. Mal acts out because he’s completely powerless in this situation, and he behaves like an ass because he loves her, because he’s losing her, because he can’t do anything about it. If he were a prince, or a powerful Grisha, he could. But she’s slipping through his fingers, and the life they both thought they were going to have together, their dream, is rapidly becoming impossible.

This is an arc that lasts only for the second book. Come Ruin and Rising, Mal has nearly lost Alina again. He has also seen the devastation that the Darkling has wrought, and he knows without doubt that Alina is necessary in piecing Ravka back together, that Nikolai is. He also knows that he, personally, is not (that’s what he believes, at the very least). Instead of continuing to be a giant manbaby about the situation, he comes to terms with the situation.

He lets Alina go (which is in stark contrast to the Darkling here, lbr). Instead of trying to cling to her and getting angry that he can’t, he accepts that the life he wants with Alina isn’t a possibility, and instead throws himself into being whatever it is that she needs. (I’d also argue that this isn’t necessarily the only correct response here. It’s a mature response, but it’s also kind of fucked up to let someone else’s identity become your main reason for existence). He loves her so much that he won’t stand in the way of what she has to do, what she has to become, but instead will support her in the best way that he can.

That’s character. That’s growth. That’s definitely not cold.

LIKE I’M NOT HERE TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU SHOULD AND SHOULDN’T SHIP. I’m easily pleased, I’m happy to ship Alina with pretty much everyone in the series, including characters that don’t have surname and show up on maybe ten pages total. But I totally get that people have their OTPs and want to see them realised in canon, and it sucks when that doesn’t happen.

You don’t have to like Mal. But like, if you are going to dislike him, do it for reasons that are present in the text. There’s a lot about Mal that doesn’t appeal to people, just like there’s a lot about Nikolai or the Darkling or anyone else in the series that won’t appeal to other people. I hope you can still find things to like about Ruin and Rising, even if it’s not going entirely the way you hoped!

Sooo I treated myself with an adorable commission from the amazing ellyshepard, and here is the stunning result! Thank you so much for being such a wonder, Jackie, it’s perfect, and oh so cute ♥

…I am sorry, yet also not sorry. The crack ship has reached its opus.

Seeing as I’ve received no less than five (five!) fanfoal designs for the Bruce/Aerostorm ship (Sharknado shipping), I thought hey, why don’t I do a little design of my own? Just one doodle can’t hurt…And then it exploded into a mini character study sorry

ANYHOO. From top to bottom, moving from left to right:

1.) Just how did Bruce and Stormy have a kid anyway? Magic, of course! Although the spell was supposed to turn Stormy into the mare. Bruce is not fond of his time spent as a lady and doesn’t like to talk about it. Ever. Just one word of advice-never trust a pink and purple haired she-draconequus.
I’m not a big fan of the gender bender trope where even the ugliest dude becomes beautiful when turned female. So Bruce doesn’t look a whole lot different, just smaller and rounder (and angrier and pregnant). In the humanverse, I’d imagine he’d bitch about not being allowed to drink beer and never shave his legs and walk around without a shirt on sometimes (Stormy doesn’t mind that at all)

2.) Lil Wave Rider demonstrates her passion for adventuring, and also wrestling dangerous animals. Bruce is caught somewhere between pride and absolute terror

3-4.) Character studies for the (hypothetical?) daughter of Bruce and Aerostorm, Wave Rider.
Female/Pegasus
Nickname(s): Wave, Wavey, Rider
Special talent: Surfing, treasure hunting
Personality: Wave Rider (or Wave Ridah, as she and Bruce pronounce it) is a mare of adventure. She is bold and fearless, nonchalantly surfing in hurricane weather, deep sea diving for giant pearls, and tracking and studying dangerous beasts, all for the thrill of adventure. She’s a little rough around the edges, as you’re just as likely to find her belching and crushing a soda can on her head as you are of finding her making pretty seashell necklaces with Stormy. Like Bruce, she calls herself a wildlife conservationist and loves and protects all animals (especially marine life, and especially dolphins). Wave can play the ukelele, sing beautifully, eat like a goddamn elephant, and drink a stallion twice her size under the table. She is a good flyer (what would you expect from the granddaughter of Rainbow Dash), but her passion lies in surfing. For Wave, a day out on the water beats a day up in the sky, any day.

5.) I imagine of the two, Stormy would be the super chill parent. He trusts that his daughter can take care of herself. Bruce on the other hand is such a fretting mother hen you don’t even know. It’s sort of justified when you have a daughter that regularly goes treasure hunting in underwater caves and swims with sharks. He often sends Pearlie out to make sure she won’t get into trouble, but Wave resents being treated like a baby and insists she can handle herself.

Whew. Ha. I have obviously put way too much thought into what was supposed to be a one-off , what-if character. Oh well. I had to give my otp a babbu, i just had to
wave rider is only as canon as you’d like her to be
feel free to ship whatever you want

anonymous asked:

what's your favourite thing about cassandra's romance? "everything" is not an option ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

EVERYTHING

no but seriously. my absolute favorite thing about her romance is that it gives her the fairytale romance she’s always really wanted but thought she could never have. she’s spent literally her entire life serving someone or something - her family, the chantry, the seekers, the divine, the inquisition, and potentially as divine herself (’why should what i want matter?’ OUCH) - so that’s how she’s used to being treated. she obviously has a desire for an ‘ideal’ relationship, but doesn’t think anyone, least of all the inquisitor, is capable or willing to give her what she wants (she actually has a great line in one of her breakups where after telling the inquisitor she ‘wants a man to sweep her off her feet’ etc that she ‘respects herself too much to settle for anything less’ GET IT GIRL)

and so i love that in her romance, she finds someone that thinks she’s more than worth their time even though the inquisitor has a thousand other things to do. i love that she’s #1 in his life and he goes so far out of his way to give her what she wants. AND MOST OF ALL i love that for once in her life, cassandra chooses to do something for herself, not anyone else, because it’s what she wants and makes her happy

Olicity in 3x01. My thoughts on those beautiful, perfect moments

So, after much consideration and battling with myself, I’ve decided to give into my feels and analyze my favorite Olicity moments from the premiere. Get ready for a whole lot of gifs (that aren’t mine).

The flirting:

So. Much. Flirting. These two weren’t even trying to hide it! I swear they were in their own little world here. The longing looks, how close they are. We were only 5 minutes into the premiere and I already thought I was going to explode from feels. Then, the reference the writers did with the fern. “It thrives in the light.” We see what you did there, Olicity shippers writers. Just like the fern, Oliver thrives on light. His light just so happens to be Felcity. I think this little quote will guide them through the entire season. That fern is sticking around, people. Just like Felicity.

The way he asks her out:

These idiots cuties. The babbling, the nerves. This is straight out of fanfiction. Good luck trying to convince me that the writers didn’t get this from a fanfic. It won’t happen. She calls him out on being nervous! This right here is what I’ve been waiting for. So in love Nervous Oliver.

The date:

The way they look at each other. He is looking at his future. That is the look of a man in love. The way she looks at him… oh be still my heart. She was so nervous. When the camera first went to her, it looks like she was rubbing her hands on her dress. She was nervous. She was finally getting what she has been wanting for 2 years. She was getting her chance. When she sees him, you can see her visibly relax. It’s amazing the effect they have on each other.

THIS IS SO CUTE. He’s nervous. She’s nervous. He needs a scotch. She took 3 benzos. OTP.

She mentions they have pretty much surpassed every topic people would normally talk about on “every date” and she’s seen him shirtless. Multiple times, shirtless. All the time. So get married.

He opens up to her:

“The entire time that I was gone, I could never completely trust someone. And when that goes on for so long, you stop seeing people for… people. You see threats… or targets. And when I decided to come home, I just didn’t know how to turn that part of me off.”

This. This scene. This scene. This scene. It is forever engraved into my mind just like the day they met is engraved into Oliver’s heart. HE REMEMBERED THE COLOR OF THE PEN. This small, small detail is so important to their story. We, as Oliciters, knew every detail about that scene. We knew they filmed it on a Friday. We could pretty much quote word-for-word what was said. That’s normal, because we are awesome fangirls who love this couple. But OLIVER remembered the color of a pen. That was by her lips. He says it with so much confidence. There is no doubt that the color of that pen was red. “It was red.” Who knew these 3 words would be the death of us?

The way he looks at her during this… The emotion in his eyes hold so much promise. He sees the future with her. He can down right taste it. It is in his grasp and he knows it. So he goes for it. He tells her he was wrong. I just… the emotion. The EMOTION. Kills me every time. It’s so beautiful.

Then this happens:

The way he flips that table and reaches for her and she reaches for him. PURE INSTINCT, PEOPLE. There is no hesitation. She doesn’t even know what’s happening, but she trusts him. She knows when hubby Oliver flips the table, you go with it.

When he wakes up and sees her lying there, he sees another person he loves lying amongst rubble and chaos and fire. He sees Felicity, but he feels the way he did when he lost Tommy. His mind automatically goes to Tommy and you cannot convince me otherwise.

You’re safe:

SHE HAD ALMOST BEEN BLOWN TO BITS AND HER FIRST REACTION TO WAKING UP IS CALLING FOR HER ONE TRUE LOVE OLIVER. He touches her and she wakes up from being UNCONSCIOUS. This is why these two belong together among many many many other reasons.

The heartbreak:

And he’s doing it, folks. He is pushing her away. He’s not pushing her out of his life, but he’s putting her just at the edge of his grasp. Felicity knows he is doing this, which is why this happens:

She is quite literally begging him to let her go. To stop hurting her. To say he never loved her. But… we ALL know Oliver can’t lie to Felicity. And, I think finally, he’s done lying to himself.

The kiss:

He can’t do it. He can’t let her go. He can’t follow through with pushing her away. He kisses her because he needs to SHOW her how much he loves her. How much this is hurting him too. He has been all about talk and never following through, but when he kisses her, he finally acts on how he feels. He follows his heart and kisses the woman he loves because he knows she is done with his words. His maybes. But, he is done lying to her. He is done lying to himself. That’s why he says “Don’t ask me to say that I don’t love you.” AND THE LIGHT. The writers’ wonderful way at showing us how this will go. The two characters may be walking away from each other right now, but that light shows these two are endgame. They are the love story of this show. While this scene broke many fangirls’ hearts, that light showed us this painful, painful journey with these two will be worth it. Light is EVERYTHING on this show (case in point: the fern).

And she walks away:

She knows he won’t do it after that kiss. She knows he can’t. She makes the decision for both of them. He won’t let her go, but she knows he has made his choice to be the Arrow. She knows that, for Oliver, there was no choice to make. Not when he shot 3 arrows into the count and not when he’s decided to be the Arrow. So she walks away. Breaking her own heart in the process. She knows Oliver. She knows he won’t change his mind. She knows the moment that bomb went off she had lost him. That’s the thing about true love, people. You come together and you come apart, only to come back together again.

He holds his hands where he had just held her face. He let her slip through his fingers because he believes he needs to protect her and this city and he can’t do that as Oliver Queen. He can only do that as the Arrow. The writers said this season is about Identity. It’s about finding out who you are. Oliver will figure out this season that he can be the Arrow and Oliver Queen. He picked the Arrow at the beginning and will struggle all season with his decision, but in the end, he will be Oliver Queen again. And we all know being Oliver Queen means being with Felicity Smoak. This beautiful, beautiful couple will happen.

So, hold onto your shipper hearts and get ready to go on this emotional roller coaster that will be season 3. Because, it will be a roller coaster with many ups and downs. The EP’s said so themselves. But it’s Olicity, and with this great, epic love story being told, we are sure to have a huge, happy pay off. i.e. sex and lots of sex and a wedding and babies.

Let me talk about GruVia

I love Fairy Tail to the core of my soul. I love the spirit, the fights and the ships. NaLu is my main OTP, but recently GruVia is starting to kill me from the inside out with its love. I mean look at that:

I don’t understand why people don’t see the love Juvia has for Gray. She loves him so much and lets him know, of course in a crazy way, but it’s still heart warming. The way she cares for him and trust in him is too beautiful.

Some say that Juvia is just obsessed with Gray and that she will stay this way if they end up in a relationship, but that’s not it. She obviously won’t go crazy anymore because he is hers then. She gets what she wants and she will treasure it. That’s why GruVia is just OTP

What Does Milady Want?

(thoughts as of Series 2 “Emilie”, some of which began in a fanmail to reblogginhood)

Glenn Close once said that we learn the most about a character when they are alone: when they have no one to perform for (I believe she was talking about her character’s solo shower scene in The Big Chill, which I cannot recall was cut from the final film or not)

We’ve seen Milady ‘alone’ on the show exactly twice (do call me out if I am forgetting something), once outside the tavern just before she goes in to reconcile w/ Sarazin, then, waking alone in a bed in the palace.

Her distaste in being outside that tavern, about to re-acquaint herself with Sarazin and her past life (though we do not know if it is a life before Athos or in the time after Athos and before Richelieu), is obvious. She doesn’t want to be there. (Nor, we realize now after her interlude w/ Rochefort in the gardens, does she wish to take over the traffic/position of a person like Sarazin. She’s Chow Yun Fat in The Killer: one more job and I’m out)

The bed in Emilie, though–she’s absolutely exultant. We’ve never seen her that without artifice–that free. She’s (and this seems an unexpected word to use for her) delighted. She not only wants to be there, she wants to stay there.

Stay being mistress to the King–'paying’ for her position? I do wonder where that might head…how long will Milady be happy to play that role? (and, as we also saw, ONLY that role?) Forever? Until he tires of her or finds her out? [Because for all the Nell Gwynnes in the world there are countless, nameless other women who played mistress to kings.Whose names we recall not at all. A King’s favor seldom endures.) She serves Louis now, in a different way, but still, as she served the Cardinal ('I am a soldier, too). Both men who served France. So, yes, one might try to spin that there’s something patriotic in Milady.

Will Louis even car that she is Athos’ wife? (It is entirely possible that even were Athos still living as a noble, and Louis wish to bed his wife he would do so–and Athos/any nobleman would let him–he’s the KING.)

What–now that she has her pardon–is her desire? To rule France? I think not. (Though, maybe, to advise the King. She seemed interested, and as her gaze never once fell to Rochefort, I don’t think her motivations in speaking well of Treville were only to frustrate Rochefort’s own suggestions.) [And heaven knows that she’s up-to-date enough on politics courtesy the Cardinal].

To spend the rest of her life trying to bewitch the King enough that he always keeps her around? Again, no. Does she want him to give her an estate? (She quipped as much. 'A small principality’) A new title? Oh, grief–a royal bastard? (That COULD cement her place with him for some years.)

But this is Milady we’re talking about. She may not have just yet thought beyond acquiring the luxury she has attained in “Emilie”, but it won’t take long for a quick mind like hers to seek out other ways to occupy herself. A King’s mistress doesn’t get to do much but be pretty, well-kept and available to the King at a moment’s notice. And that, for a woman like Milady, will soon bore.

She has to want more than merely protection/money. If she wants status or influence then at some point it has to be towards a particular end.
Might she be enacting something at the Cardinal’s bidding? Or hoping to exploit some secret information she acquired through him? Perhaps a scheme they two dreamed up at some point in the past? That would prove v. intriguing.

Perhaps, what she wants, is 'all this’ and Athos, too.

We know, from the past, Milady does not believe in a reward-giving afterlife. She believes she is living her hell right now. And yet, how important that pardon was to her. How much she strives to not only be seen as 'changed’ but to desire that change (as in, no more assassin jobs) to be real. To stick.

And to whom does she wish to re-confirm that change to?

Athos.

And whom does she tell that he still loves her no matter what she is? (Would you say in S1 she ever seemed confident of that?) Is she confident of this? Or is it a head-game? Is it a chess mover to set the board for the match she is about to play to regain Athos as her lover? (She is rather obviously no longer at all invested in destroying him or the Musketeers.)

We don’t fully know how her official pardon by the monarch would play in Athos’ mind. He knows she’s got no Cardinal to serve, now. He 'forgave’ her everything she did in S1 and took it on as his own fault. As a Musketeer he would have to respect that she is no longer a condemned criminal. At the word of the King he serves.

I think her (possible–I’ll still not say canon b/c I need a lot more questions answered there) betrayal with his brother Thomas and that murder are what’s standing between them. [Not between them being together, but just between them as two characters who are in disharmony. I would not say OTP: Burn it Down has a 'together’ in the future in my understanding.]

And maybe she wants him. Maybe she very much wants him. And maybe she thinks this is the way to get him. Get pardoned, get a powerful protector while she works to re-insert herself into Athos’ life.

I don’t know.

I just know women with the intelligence of Milady de Winter do not settle for the job of (even) the most valuable mistress in the kingdom. They do not agree to confine themselves, and their influence, to bedrooms.

What do you think Milady wants?
