otp: i live to keep you safe

10

They say before you start a war, you better know what you’re fighting for. Well baby, you are all that I adore, if love is what you need, a soldier I will be. I’m an angel with a shotgun, fighting ‘til the war’s won, I don’t care if heaven won’t take me back. I’ll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe. Don’t you know you’re everything I haveI wanna live, not just survive, tonight.

imagine allen and lavi as kaneki and hide though.

lavi being allen’s sunshine. lavi doing anything for allen. lavi joining an organisation he hates just to find allen.

allen awakening his ‘powers’ because lavi is in danger. allen wanting to keep lavi safe. lavi being allen’s anchor on his humanity.

allen and lavi being each other’s homes. allen losing the will to live when his sunshine dies. allen carrying lavi through the snow so they can be together again.

laven as kanehide would be both painful and amazing and i’m all for it.

Get out your guns, battle’s begun.

Are you a saint

or a sinner?

If love’s a fight

then I shall die
With my heart on a trigger.

They say before you start a war,
You better know what you’re fighting for.

Well, baby, you are all that I adore.

If love is what you need,

a soldier I will be.

I’m an angel with a shotgun,

Fighting ‘til the war’s won,

I don’t care if heaven won’t take me back.

I’ll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.

Don’t you know you’re everything I have?

And I wanna live, not just survive tonight.

Sometimes to win, you’ve got to sin.

Don’t mean I’m not a believer.

And major Tom will sing along.

Yeah, they still say I’m a dreamer.

And I’m gonna hide, hide, hide my wings tonight.

eep! You’re so very nice. I hope you’re having a fantastic day/night/week/month/fuck’n decade as well. (even if recent events are making it harder) (take care of yourself you will make it through this)

Alright let’s approach this from the angle I like to call common sense, even though it can be super hard, I know, when we live in a culture that’s filled with heteronormativity and ~gay for pay~, and your gay otps are laughed off by the media, and queer people are forced to closet themselves to keep safe, and therefore a form of emotional manipulation happens where you’re forced to question even the things you can see before your very eyes, because you’re afraid people might ridicule you, write you off as delusional or naive:

“just come back alive, okay?” + bellarke

Clarke adjusts her duffel bag on her shoulder, looking at the airport around her. It feels weird, being the one to leave this time – her last tour was when she was nineteen, straight out of the academy and scared shitless. The army paid for med school after that, though, and now she’s back at it again, ready to leave for nine months on a medical mission and not knowing what will happen then.

Bellamy pretends he’s cool about it, but there is tension to his shoulders that Clarke can’t ignore, clenching his jaw when he thinks she isn’t looking. He did three tours before they offered him a more permanent job, training the new recruits at home instead of leaving and coming back.

Sometimes, Clarke wonders how their couple even survived this – the long periods of time barely being able to speak for five minutes, and then having to learn to be together in the same place all over again. She likes to think it made them stronger, but mostly there were time when they refused to break up just out of sheer stubbornness.

“Bellamy, hey…” she says softly, when his nostrils start flailing angry.

His eyes are unreadable when he looks back at her, a pool of mystery turned red by the sunlight. He just stares at her for a couple more seconds, before he grabs her by the collar of her perfectly-pressed uniform and pulls her toward him. Clarke falls into his embrace, almost loosing her balance before she’s into his arm and against his chest, squeezing back with the same strength.

“Just come back alive, okay?” he whispers to her ear, the low rumble of his voice sending a shiver down her spine as tears gather at the corners of her eyes.

“I’ll do my best,” she replies with a forced smile. She can’t lie to him about that, can’t make false promises they both know she can’t keep. It’s never safe where they go, an accident waiting for them around every corner.

“Yeah, you do that.”

She tastes his tears on his lips when he kisses her. Or perhaps it’s hers.

Can you imagine what it would be like if Stormpilot actually became canon though.

And I don’t mean in a “It’s there if you want to see it” kind of way, no “10 childhood heroes you never realized were gay” article 15 years down the lane, I mean actual canon, kissing-to-dramatic-music canon, I-love-you-I-know canon.

Can you imagine the cultural impact this would have. Can you imagine growing up in the world where the great love story in fucking Star Wars is the story of an interracial, gay couple, can you imagine how this would affect people. The eyes it might open. The lives it might safe.
