A PSA for those browsing these main tags:
“G*psy” is an ethnic slur used against Romani people. You can call yourself a nomad or a wanderer or any of a number of terms, but using that word in particular to describe yourself (if you’re not a member of that culture reclaiming it) has about as much charm as calling yourself by any other slur.
Karma and chakras are concepts having to do with Hinduism and Buddhism. Chakras in particular were among the many things taken by western new age people in the 70s. Stop talking about either of these like they have any basis in neo-paganism. I know that the concept of karma is very similar to the Three-fold Law but they are two different concepts and should not be conflated.
*to cover my bases, Reiki has only existed for less than a century and doesn’t seem to have a huge cultural significance. So no, practicing Reiki would not be appropriative.
Closed religions are often indigenous religions that must be taught by an existing member of that religion. If a religion is closed, you can’t incorporate elements or deities from it without being massively disrespectful to that religion. If you want to find out if a religion is closed, look in the tag to see what its practitioners say, or google “is ___ a closed religion”.
With this very basic primer, I wish you all luck in weeding out the appropriative blogs from your searches!
