You nod happily at him.
He tilts his head, “I’ve never heard of it.”
You quickly sigh and scoot next to him opening up the app. You start to walk him through the game and finally play a level. He watches as your fingers swiftly and speedily tap the screen, something way different than what he was used to.
After you were finished, you handed him the phone for him to try. Yoosung couldn’t grip the small phone steadily in his hand, which meant that he couldn’t press the buttons accurately, and resulted in the lowest score on your phone.
He hangs off of the couch defeated while you toss the game aside and comfort him, saying that he was great at LOLOL and that was all that mattered.
Jaehee walks out of her study and stretches. She heads over to the fridge while scanning the apartment for your whereabouts. When she sees a dim light coming up from the couch, she smiles and pours herself a glass of water.
Jaehee makes her way over to you and faintly hears upbeat music coming from your direction. She peers over the couch and sees that you’re intensely focused on what seemed to be a rhythm game.
She stands behind you and watches for a bit until you finish the game with what seems like a very high number to her. You silently bow your head in defeat and hear a small laugh behind you.
“You look very focused on that game.” she walks over to sit by you. “But you seem to be quite good at it.”
“I can’t beat my score…” you hand her the phone. “Do you wanna try?”
She nods and puts down her glass, taking the phone into her hands. You lean against her shoulder and watch her play round after round.
You can’t help but smile when she says “just one more time,” after each round.
“What are you so focused on?” he asks, looking at you from his desk.
You look at him quickly with a smile before returning to your activity, “a game~”
He turns his head back towards his work, “Game?”
“Yeah, it’s called osu.” You say in a monotone voice, trying to concentrate on all of the moving beats.
“… What kind of game is it?”
You take a second to reply, “A rhythm game.”
“I cannot relate with your passion for things like that, but I am glad it keeps you entertained.”
He catches you pouting a little.
The next day you wake up to find that all of the locked items have been unlocked.
Sometimes you’re so fixated on your phone you don’t spend all of your time with him. He starts to wonder what you’re doing all the time, and decides to stalk you a little.
He peeks over your shoulder a bit to see that you’re… playing a game? He hasn’t seen any game like it. You suddenly close out of the app and get up to use the bathroom.
“Osu…?” He opens up his phone and searches for it in the app store.
If the app was that addicting that you played it 24/7, he wanted to see what all the hype was about. He successfully downloads the game and starts to play.
“How long have you been playing Osu!?” You excitedly jump on him, a few days later.
“Around the time it first came out~” he waved his hand nonchalantly. “You can say I’m pretty good.” He shrugs.
“Let’s play together!” You take out your phone and open the app as Zen watches over your shoulders.
You scroll through your songs and Zen sees your scores… which are about 3 times larger than his. He insists you two go out to dinner instead.
Seven was working hard as usual, nothing could really disturb him unless he heard you scream or something. You lay in a chair next to him and start playing on your phone. Then, he hears a very familiar tune; the sound of his favorite game. He stops working immediately and pins your arms to the couch.
“WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING?”
“OSU” you say hurriedly, not even knowing what’s happening right now.
“Ahh~ I knew that only the very best could play this game!” he leans back and nods his head.
You breath out a laugh and sit back up again.
He suddenly leans into your face “we should play together!!!”
“O-okay!!” you pull out your phone and start up the app, you could practically see him bouncing with excitement. You were just happy he was willing to step away from work to play with you.
Level after level resulted in a win from you or a close call. Each time seven wanted to go again, or he justified his loss with a heroic statement.
“Ah~! Secret agent seven zero seven was only warming up!”
“Yah ho~! 707 was taking it easy on you this time! I’m not holding back the next round!”
You would only give a small laugh and hesitantly press play again.
It was dark outside when you finally realized how long you’ve been playing.
“Don’t you have to get to work?”
“A-ah… it has gotten dark outside hasn’t it?” he scratched the back of his head.
You pat his back, “I’ll make a delicious dinner!” he nods and you go to cook.
When you wake up the next day, he turns to see that you’re awake. He bolts over to you and shows you his phone. He brings up the app and scrolls through his maps. There were maps and levels you haven’t even seen before.
“What’s this?” you ask still trying to wake up.
“New maps i added into the game!” you laugh and nod to him. “I added them on yours too!”
“You finished the map!?” it was the next day, and you were eating some lunch.
“Yeah…?” your mouth was full with food and you stared at him. He pulled out his phone and started to look through it. You swallow your food, “what are you doing?”
“O-oh! Nothing!!” you lean over and look at his phone, he was looking at your scores.
“You’re tracking my scores?!” you laugh out loud.
you look at him,
“…..yes! But with the time you spent finishing the map, I’ve been working on my skills! I totally distracted you!”
You smile at him, “I-it’s okay! You have a lot of work to do and–” seven cuts you off as if in a hurry.
“Let me show you my skills!” this was getting way out of hand, but you had a plan.
You both go to sleep that night happy, with the score of 199 to 200.
