40 Study Tips & Tricks

I thought to write down the “script” to one of my most viewed videos, with 40 study tips & tricks. It’s easier to read them and pass on the word!

Organization Tips:

1. Incorporate homework and classes in you daily planner – that will give you an overall glimpse of how your week will be about and how much time you need to spend in your studying sessions!

2. Color coordinate classes – be it notes, your planner, your textbooks or binders, pick a unique color for each class and work around the hues of that color to get more organized!

3. Make your own syllabus – if your professor doesn’t provide a syllabus for your class, try to make one before the school year working around your given textbooks or other given material.

4. Make study guides – make a study guide from your syllabus and draw before each topic two boxes: one for a midtest and one for the final test. When you have one of these tests, check the boxes when you’ve finished studying the chapter so you won’t miss anything!

5. Reference your material throughout – most of the times, we students work with in-class notes, textbooks and a syllabus. Since we get small bits of information here and there it’s important to reference every page throughout all your material so you can quickly access your information without having to flip endlessly through pages!

6. Keep a dashboard nearby – Whenever you use a notebook or a binder, make a dashboard on the first page with post it notes so you can quickly scribble any questions, homework or page numbers. When you get home, you just need to open your dashboard and attend those notes.

7. Print any tests, exercises and exams you can find – keep those in the end of your binder. These are perfect to practice before exams and tests because they really reflect what you will be tested about. Set an alarm clock for the deadline and start working on those!

8. Condense – organization disappears when you have too many of everything. Working with more than one planner in your life will make everything chaotic. If you think you need a second planner because you don’t have enough space to write in the first one, it’s because you don’t have available time as well. Don’t fool yourself and set achievable goals!

9. Customize your textbooks – most of the times, textbooks are formal books where information is hard to come by. Make your own tabs and write every chapter on them so they stick out – flag any charts, tables or graphics. Everything needs to be incredibly accessible!

10 Print a special planning sheet before finals: Organizing your studying by chapters and/or topics before finals is tremendously important since it lets you organize the amount of time you dedicate to each subject,

Study Sessions and Time Management

11. Save at least one afternoon or one morning a week for intensive studying. These is your “life-saver” – when you get so full of homework and projects that you can’t incorporate them into your daily academic routine, one free afternoon to organize your school life will really come in handy! Make an appointment with yourself!

12. Prepare in advance – although most professors may not ask you to prepare a class in advance, if you have the means to, go ahead. Grab a sheet and make a summary of the chapter your class will be about. Write the major topics and key information and take that guide to class. When your professor repeats previously studied information, you will be able to understand everything much better!

13. Never leave something behind – Even if you have a more light class, where professors don’t request homework or any side projects, don’t let that fool you! Be disciplined and be your own professors! Make your own projects and learn everything you can so you can nail those finals when they arrive.

14. Write your questions – most of the time, in a heavy study session, we come up with tons of questions and sometimes we just leave them behind. Write them down in your dashboard or a small notebook and ask your professors (personally or via e-mail). You can also ask your schoolmates in a facebook group created for that purpose!

15. Set an alarm clock and reward yourself – even if you study during an entire afternoon your studying will be pointless if you don’t take regular breaks. Set an alarm clock for one hour/one hour and a half and then take a 15 minute break. Never study for more than 2 hours straight! Even if you don’t notice, you’ll get less and less focused.

16. . Make a list – before each study session I like to grab my notepad and write down everything that I need to do before my session ends: the chapters I need to read, the pages I need to go through and the homework I need to complete. Sometimes I even write theses lists when I’m in college so I’ll have more determination to complete those tasks once I get home.

17 Work on the least interesting thing first. There are always classes or projects that we like the least – and those are the ones that we need to tackle first. You will start your studying session concentrated, which will let you go through the worst tasks faster.

18 Print, print, print. try to print everything you can and never study from your computer. Having your PDF files printed at hand will let you concentrate better, highlight and write some notes in the margins. You can take these everywhere with you and even turn them into small guides for future classes!

19. If you finish ahead, don’t quit. Perhaps the time you’ve saved for your study session has come to an end way before you have planned. That doesn’t mean you should stop right now – Take that time to review what you’ve learned so far or prepare other classes ahead of time!

20. Study in an organized space – make your own studying corner – bring everything you will need, from textbooks, binders and notebooks, to a cup of coffee and your computer. Keep them neatily organized on your desk so everything is at hand and on sight. Put on some soft background music (links down below) and adjust the lightning.

In class notes

21. If your professor provides PowerPoint slides before each class, print them (six or four per page) and bring them to class. Write in the margins and more throughout information in the back so it’s all condensed and tight. This is where you’ll take your notes. If you prefer to write on lined paper, think about copying some ruled paper to the back of your printed slides.

22. If your professor asks you to prepare your class in advance, try to make a small guide for each class. Open the comments column in MSWord and print the pages with that column. When you go to class, incorporate the in-class notes in that column, next to the relevant information so everything is nice and condensed.

23 If you are in a information-heavy class, try to adopt the Cornell method, which is the best, in my opinion, when you need to be a fast writer. There’s a video right here on how to use this method.

24. If you are in a bits-and-pieces class, which is that kind of class where the professor just gives a few key points and then gives practical examples or makes you work in group, try to adopt the box method – you can draw these boxes yourself or make them with post it notes – these are way more visual and perfect to memorize information.

25. Write in-class flashcards – if you don’t have flashcards around, make tiny flashcards on the top of your notes, where you cover the definitions you’ve written with the name of the definition. Each time you open your notes, try to remember the hidden definition. Automatic studying, every time!

26. Participate in class – nothing better than to be actively involved in your class discussion. For most of us, shy creatures, participating can be dreadful – but once you get out of your box, you’ll see how participating really makes you understand the subject!

27. If you have any questions during class, raise your hand and ask them. If your professor doesn’t like being interrupted, write them down and approach them in the end of the class. Sometimes, the little things we don’t understand are exactly the ones that come up on the final exam!

28. Ask for examples. Examples are probably the thing that makes your brain connect the information faster. If your professor isn’t keen on providing examples, suggest your own and see if your answer comes up right. Sometimes, examples are the thing that really makes us understand our material and our definitions, since they transform formal information into relatable events.

29. Sit at the front. It sounds too straightforward but sitting at the front really makes wonders. You won’t get distracted by what you classmates are doing, you will focus on the professor, who is right in front of you and you will resist the temptation of going to Facebook and Instagram during a boring presentation.

30. Write a brief summary at the end of the class. During those five minutes where everyone is dismissed and leaving the room, write a brief summary of that classes’ key points in the back of a page – this is fundamental in the Cornell method but can be used in any other method as well.

Finals Guide

31 Skim through your material two times: at first, you should start by studying your material starting from the end. The last lessons will be fresh in your memory and it’s very important to reinforce your knowledge on these while you can. In the second reading, you should start from the beginning, as usual. It’s important to make these two readings so you can go through the information in a much more flexible way.

 32. Make a mindmap of each chapter. A mindmap is a chart that relates key words and important information, making it easy to understand the relationship and hierarchy between such key words. Use colors and images to memorize your material better. Oh, and don’t forget to check out my video on how to make mindmaps!

33. Read each of the titles and try to say out loud its contents, explaining each concept and the relationship between them. Imagine you are the teacher and are lecturing that subject to a crowd. If you skip any of the subjects, do it all over again. The more you repeat, the better you will memorize.

34. It’s time for some flash cards!  Write the topic or the title on one side and the meaning or the explanation on the other. Try to cover as many topics or titles as you can and go through your cards while memorizing as best as you can each of the concepts. Try to do it backwards if you have time to do so!

35. On the day before the exam, skim through your mindmaps and flash cards again and always try to study while talking. Saying your content out loud will force your brain to relate information in a much more cohesive way and you’ll memorize everything much better.

36. Read the entire exam from top to bottom. Underline or circle any important words that you think will be crucial in you answer. After that, calculate how much time you should spend answering each question: this simple calculation will take only twenty seconds and will help you organize your time. Try to save five minutes at the end for revisions.

37. If you are solving a written exam and not multiple choice, try as much as possible to organize each answer in a structured way, saving two lines just to present your line of thought and writing each different argument in a different paragraph. Draft a conclusion at the end to underline the centre of your answer. Sometimes softly underlining some keywords is important to make your professor notice that you’ve correctly given importance to certain concepts.

38. Use these symbols for each question: one dot if you aren’t sure of the answer, two dots if you are sure of your answer and a circle if you are completely unaware of your answer. Start by answering any question with two dots; after those are all answered, go on through the two dots question. Leave the circle questions to the end – and ALWAYS answer them! Even if you don’t know what they’re about, who knows if you will be able to come up with something right?

39. Review your test one final time – many times, we make a lot of mistakes under stress and now is when you should spot them and amend them. This can be the difference between a B and an A!

40. Don’t take this too seriously – school is an important aspect of our lives but it isn’t everything. Failure comes many times and these failures can even drive you away from something that was simply not meant to be. Don’t stress out because everyone goes through the same!

Paper Organization

Okay so this for the anon from last week who requested this. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you… things have been crazy.

Important Paperwork

First it’s important to identify some of your important paperwork. These are what I keep set aside, but this is not a definitive list!

  • Personal identification like your social security card or immigration information
  • Tax forms I would keep copies of both your last year’s forms and your current forms (original goes to your tax man)
  • Driver related like copies of your insurance information, certifications or disciplinary information
  • Rental related like leases or rental agreements
  • High School/College like degrees and official transcripts
  • Voting info like voter ID cards or other registration info
  • Pay stubs keep these for up to six months
  • Contracts like any agreement you sign with your Internet or electric providers
  • Expensive items/warranties keep receipts for any item over $1,000 just in case

1. Make a folder. This, of course, doesn’t actually have to be a folder. It can be a binder, a box, I actually use an oversized Ziploc bag to store all my important paperwork. The key is that you choose an item that is easy to handle and secure (so that you papers don’t come tumbling out accidentally).

2. Setting. Find an out of the way place to store this information. I would store it in a private part of your apartment or dorm room, somewhere not easily accessible. Obviously don’t go around telling everyone and their aunt where your documents are.

3. Commit to it. Anytime you receive a piece of important paper, immediately store it in your previously chosen place. Remind yourself that it will only taken a few extra seconds to properly secure your documents, and doing this sets an important precedent.

4. Proof of residency. Proof of residence is something that any institution from your university to your health insurance provider may ask for. Proof of residence can be in the form of a rental agreement, utility bills, or pay stubs with your address on them. Always scan these documents and send copies to whatever service is requesting them, never send the originals.

5. Pay stubs. I recommend keeping a backlog of your voided paychecks. Voided, in the sense that you’ve already deposited them into your bank account or had them direct deposited. When applying for insurance or a new apartment, you may be asked to provide several of these paychecks. Since these can stack up and become bulky, I wrap them with a large rubber band and keep them beside my important paper file.

6. Clip together. I like to paperclip together similar documents from different years. For example, I keep my different lease agreements clipped together.

7. Organize. Every six months, devote a half hour or so to organizing your file. Clean out any paperwork that is unnecessary or duplicated. Keep your documents up to date and as easy to navigate as possible. Always remember to black out any personal information on documents before throwing them out. I’ll clean my cats’ litter box, and dispose of my old important documents in a garbage bag with the poop as an added security measure. If you’re going to steal my information I’d like you to have to sort through my cat’s shit first.

I hope this helps!

You’d first hooked up with him 56 days ago. It was a party. Another one. One you shouldn’t have gone to, just like the 5 before that. The liquor rang strong in your veins and your body shuddered with sexual frustration as you watched him from across the room. He hadn’t noticed you until you made it impossible for him not to. You got real close to where he was sitting on a random couch and danced as seductively as you could. You knew your plan to get his attention worked when you were in the kitchen pouring another drink and he approached you.

“Y/N, right?” He asks, casually leaning back against the counter, which holds the red cup your eyes are still on. You know it’s him and don’t bother to look up- adding to the game.

“And you’re Jungkook.”

Descendent signs 🌟

The 7th house aka your descendent represents what you will be attracted to, it is generally opposite your rising sign. For example my rising is Aires and my descendent is libra. I am definitely always attracted to a librian energy but also all the air signs(Gemini, Aquarius, libra).

Descendant in Aries (Ruled by Mars)

You are drawn to courageous individuals who have no difficulty asserting themselves. Your partner may appear as an athletic individual or entrepreneur. While your Libra rising can make you indecisive and diplomatic, you may be drawn to a partner who either helps you make decisions or makes them for you.

Descendant in Taurus (Ruled by Venus)

You are drawn to a stable partner who may be more practical and grounded than your Scorpio rising sign. You may impulsively jump into one relationship after another and eventually settle into an enduring and stable one. Your partner may be a provider or enjoy cooking for you with a demonstrated depth of sensuality.

Descendant in Gemini (Ruled by airy Mercury)

You are drawn to an inquisitive partner who may retain a youthful appearance. Sagittarius rising can lead you in search of greener pastures so it is not uncommon to have more than one partner at a time. Your partner appears to be very communicative and sociable and you may share conversations well into the early morning hours.

Descendant in Cancer (Ruled by the Moon)

Your Capricorn ascendant makes you slightly reserved in seeking a partnership and Cancer on the Descendant describes a homebody. You may be drawn to those who mother you in some way. Both Capricorn and Cancer prefer a less social lifestyle and enjoy time spent at home, cooking and building a wonderful nest.

Descendant in Leo (Ruled by the Sun)

You are drawn to a very dramatic partner who appears benevolent and full of character. Your Aquarius ascendant can lead you to explore unusual partnerships but your partner’s devotion, chivalry and knack for creating the perfect romantic evening can rescue you from your highly analytical perch.

Descendant in Virgo (Ruled by earthy Mercury)

You are drawn to a partner who appears organized and analytical with a wry sense of humor. Your Pisces ascendant might make it difficult for you to understand who you are let alone what you want. It may be that your partner provides a sense of routine or brings you an element of groundedness that is attractive to you.

Descendant in Libra (Ruled by airy Venus)

You are drawn to a refined and elegant individual who is charming and graceful. Your Aries rising can lead you from one adventure to another and your partner may ask just the right questions that lead you to lay down roots. Descendent in Libra describes a committed and loyal partner.

Descendant in Scorpio (Ruled by Pluto)

You are drawn to a partner who appears very intense and may prod you through deep transformational experiences. Your Taurus rising can make you slow to reveal yourself and a bit rooted in making changes. Your partner’s commitment to achieve deep intimacy appeals to your Taurus sensuality.

Descendant in Sagittarius (Ruled by Jupiter)

You are drawn to a partner who enjoys sports, philosophy and the outdoors. Your Gemini rising can make it difficult for anyone to truly know you and your partner provides just the amount of lightness and lack of routine that appeals to you. Long discussions into the night is suggested by this placement.

Descendant in Capricorn (Ruled by Saturn)

You are drawn to an ambitious and practical individual who values honesty over intense emotional expression. Your Cancer rising can make you behave like a mother to others and your mate appreciates your stability and desire to provide a comfortable nest.

Descendant in Aquarius (Ruled by Uranus)

You are drawn to unusual people who help you validate your own uniqueness. Your Leo rising can make you quite dramatic and romantic although your partner may operate more in the mental realms and won’t be overly emotional. There may be something unusual about how you approach relationships and your partner appreciates your open minded attitude.

Descendant in Pisces (Ruled by Neptune)

You are drawn to sensitive individuals who appreciate the value of family and roots. Your Virgo rising can make you want to jump in and organize your partner’s life. Your desire for routine provides stability for your partner who helps you dig deeper into intimacy where you may often bury your emotions in a highly analytical approach to life.

You felt their eyes everywhere they went. They stared at you in the hallway. They stared at you through mirrors in the training gym. You hated feeling like it was you vs them. Your new partnership deemed, unbalance and undeserved.

The week’s following Jimin’s debut in the training gym left you feeling more isolated than you did when you first got to the facility. At least then you didn’t know what it was like to have everyone hate you. You had taken to sitting in the very back corner of the cafeteria, in the very last row, in the very last seat. You turned your back on the table where you used to sit, not wanting to see the smiles spread across your former friend’s faces as they teased each other, stealing more than one bit of each other’s plates.

But things were different now, you had a new partner. A new not-so-human partner. Jimin’s true identity hidden beneath secrets and layers of real looking skin. Sometimes, you would watch the way his chest would pant in the training gym and wonder how a body made of metal could be so real. You would shiver at the sight of his reddened cheeks, only imagining what was going on underneath.

Jimin slammed his tray of food on the cafeteria table, but you didn’t bother to look up at your partner as he claimed the empty seat in front of you.

“When are you going to stop acting like a child?” he asked as he moved what was supposed to be mashed potatoes across his plate. Hoping that distractions hid the fact that he didn’t actually need to eat to sustain himself.

“Whenever I get new partner. An actual partner, you know with a heartbeat,” you quipped, actually shoveling a large mound of greens past your lips.

Write Like No One Will Read It

For the last few days, I’ve given myself some “time off” writing to get to some projects that are just for me, an essay and a short story I doubt I will ever publish but that I wanted to write because it was a chance for me to imagine a future I’d really like to see come to pass. And it has been really productive. One day I wrote about 7,000 words before noon. And I realized it was precisely because I was writing for myself that I was so productive.

When people ask me how to be more productive, they expect me to tell them about some special writing system I have or ways to organize your life better so that you use those fifteen minutes at the doctor’s waiting. I haven’t found that to be the way to become more productive. On the contrary, more pressure often does the reverse.

This is why some writers only write one book. It’s why the second book is so difficult for most of us (unless you’ve already got it written before the first one comes out and the pressure really starts). It’s why writers sometimes take decades between books. (Yes, I know it could be quality, too, but I suspect it’s fear.)

If you can figure out some trick to convince your mind that no one will ever read your book, that it’s just for you, that there’s no deadline, no fear of reviews, no worries about if it’s good enough, trust me, you will be amazed at the creativity that pours out of you.

Write like you’re a kid again.

Write like it’s a crime.

Write like it’s your journal.

Write like you’ve never been published.

Write like no one ever told you about comma splices.

Write like it’s your favorite decadent treat.

Write like it’s breath.

And it will be.

  • Expectations: colour-coordinated notes in beautiful handwriting in a stunning notebook, sleeping 8h every night, waking up bright and early, fuelled by garnished lattes you got at a local cafe, listening to chill music and organizing your life with a clean and personalized bullet journal, getting As on your exams and treating yourself for your great achievements
  • Reality: messy notes on crinkly loose leaf sheets and ugly spiral notebooks you got on sale, living on 5h of sleep or waking up at 11 am and cursing yourself for sleeping in, fuelled by stress and anxiety, listening to your own crying while trying to get your shit together with a cheap planner filled with quick to-do lists that you never complete, always being on average in tests because everyone is so damn smart and not having the time to treat yourself because you're flooded with work

Debunking the Triangle Myth

It’s very hard to find ways to keep up with all your college work and still keep a balanced life. Many people say that when you get into college, you need to choose from two vertices of the first triangle while sacrificing the third one. Well, I need to tell you that that’s completely not true!

If you plan and organize your life, you will be able to manage your sleep schedule, your studying sessions and your night-outs without sacrificing one of them.

The first thing you need to do is being realistic. Instead of sleeping 9 hours a day, perhaps you will need to cut back to seven hours a day, which will probably provide enough energy throughout the day without letting your feel the burnout. On the other hand, you need to ration the time you spend with your friends and family. The best way to do so is scheduling a fixed schedule to be with them and dedicate yourself 100% during that time. It’s not how much time you have available that matters. What matters is what you do with the time you have available. Cutting back on fundamental aspects of your life will really hurt your grades – and if it doesn’t hurt your grades right away, it will hurt your body and state of mind sooner than you think. Sleepless nights have a mark on your body. On the other hand, depriving yourself of time spent with your loved ones can hurt and destroy relationships and in the end of the day, you’ll find out that those grades aren’t as worth as much as that.

Another thing I recommend is finding some sort of physical activity that helps you manage energy levels. Even running 10 minutes a day will do wonders for your physical and mental health, letting you cope with high stress levels and the feeling of burnout. Try to unplug from your college activities, listen to some music and concentrate on your body rather than on your brain.

You also need to prioritize. Choosing tons of classes just to feel productive is a waste of time. Having a heavily crowded schedule just for the sake of it will result in lower grades and a lower ability to focus on those classes. Pick classes that you think you can personally enjoy but can also help you on your chosen career path. Try to keep both of those aspects in mind when you’re picking subjects for the next semester, or else risking signing up for classes that are just filling you with stress and won’t even matter when you get your diploma.

Find a way to get help. You are not alone in this path and many of your classmates are probably feeling the same way. Try to get together and find a way to share some tasks or somehow trade notes and materials to help each other. If you can attend a lecture for any reason, don’t hesitate to ask for the class notes and assignments. If one of your classmates skips a lecture because they are sick, don’t hold back and hand them those notes. Finding a reading group is great to divide huge books into manageable chunks and distribute them between the members, so you have less reading to do and are able to summarize your part in a better way and then share your summary with your colleagues.

Schedule some “me-time”. Don’t look at your personal space as a failure towards your productivity goals. Try to incorporate at least half-an-hour with yourself in your busy schedule, and stick to it religiously. I always read a novel from 10 p.m to 10.30. Even if I reach that hour without finishing all the tasks for college that I had set out for myself to accomplish, I will just close my laptop, put away my notes and I will just allow myself to be relaxed for that half an hour.

DESCRIPTION:

Being forced into a marriage just because that kind of a link provided your family the exact amount of recourses needed for their business to become even more successful grossed the hell out of you, but you had to do it regardless of your liking and you knew that you had to do so since you were a little girl. Your father, a respectable and well-known doctor seated in the position of the CEO of his own hospital pushed you into an arranged marriage with the son of a wealthy politician due to his own greediness and enormous pride when you were only eighteen years old.

The scheme was pretty simple: you were promised to another family since you were just a teenager and when you hit the age of twenty-five, after you finished the medical college and got a job for yourself, you had to marry their son – because that was what your father desired, because your marriage could provide him political security and lots of money, coming from your father-in-law’s connections and influence.

When you found out about his plan, you provoked a ruckus within the first half of hour and exploded into an insane juncture of crying and screaming. You packed all of your things and ran away from home, only to be dragged back by his employees and to beg for forgiveness and ask for pity in less than three hours. If he wanted, your father could have made your life a living hell, and you were very much aware of his immense power and his complicated and damaged personality.

Liking it or not, you had to cope with the situation and you had to formally get married with an unknown guy about whom you knew only one thing, and that was his full name. Jeon Jungkook.

Fortune Favors the Prepared

XXXXXxxxxXXXX

Dr. Claire Fraser was having a less than stellar morning. It started when she stepped out of her bedroom and into a pile of cat sick even before her first cup of coffee. She quickly grabbed a tea towel from the kitchen to lay over the mess.

Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ! That is just.. What is that? Mental note - bringing the cat in for a checkup would probably be a good idea.

Coffee would have to come after her shower due to the unforeseen feline interruption in her well constructed morning routine. She could get back on track if she answered some emails as she waited for her shower to warm up.

Wait! It’s Bree’s turn for snack at Scouts next week? Damnation. I’ll have to stop by Tesco to pick something up. I think it has to be gluten and tree nut free. Shit. Or is it dairy free?

Unfortunately, she dropped her mobile mid text in the running water while she tried to multitask and check the temperature. It was submerged for a few seconds and despite the fact that she had safely protected it, she screamed.

You’re a fucking surgeon and you let the object that organizes your entire fucking life fall through your fingers!

Her screams woke the baby who had slept fitfully because he was miserable from teething. She startled at his cries but inhaled and exhaled several times to calm herself as she ran to comfort him. He stretched his arms out to her and she lovingly picked him up.

“Mama is so sorry, love!” she cooed. “How about we get you some porridge and some Calpol?”

“Mamamama. Eat! Mama!” he chattered while he flailed his arms towards the doorway.

Jamie rounded the corner into the nursery with a grin on his face. He kissed his wife and son before taking the boy from her.

“And a happy anniversary to you my sassenach! Jenny just arrived to collect the bairns. I’ll change his nappy and get his things together while you get your coffee.” he said as he winked.

Claire stood there for a moment, stunned.

It is Saturday! Shit. Hold on… I already got his present! That first edition about his ancestors. Pain in the arse to find but amazing to find. So glad my tenacity paid off. And now for the life giving coffee!

The laughing voices of her three older children echoed down the hallway as they chatted about their plans for the day with their cousins. Both Faith and Bree had their schedules planned out and were signing animatedly about them, Faith about her plans for an adventurous horse ride with Wee Jamie while her sister was incredibly excited about baking with their Aunt Jenny, Maggie and Kitty. Fergus knew their Uncle Ian would need help with fixing something around Lallybroch so he had no plans other than sneakily eating what desserts the girls made.

They are such amazing kids! All have had challenges thrown at them and thrived. So smart. Giving. Pain in the arse to each other just like any typical siblings.

“Please be well behaved for your aunt and uncle you three.” she implored.

“Oh, they will be!” Jenny replied. “Or I’ll tell their Da!”

Both women hugged and caught up on family gossip while Jamie packed everyone in his sister’s car. Both families did their best to give each other time alone as often as possible resulting in a very tight knit unit.

With the house finally quiet the couple stood in their lounge, arms wrapped around each other.

I really hope he doesn’t mind if I close my eyes while we’re standing here. He’s making me so warm.

“You have been so busy lately I thought I’d take our anniversary to spoil you.” he murmured. “I’ve drawn you a bath, extra bubbles exactly the way you like it.”

“Those LED candles, too?” she asked.

“Of course! I know what the lady of the house prefers.” he chuckled. “May I escort you to our chambers Lady Broch Tuarach?”

Claire playfully fanned herself as they walked toward their destination. She gasped when she saw how much effort he had put into making their ordinary bathroom into an oasis.

“Okay, now strip down and get in, your Lordship.” she commanded. “I have plans for you, sir!”

He feigned being put out but couldn’t stop smiling or interrupting her attempts to undress by smacking and complimenting his favorite assets. After some bad puns, playful banter with a side of innuendo, they at last sat in their bathtub. Claire sighed as she leaned back into her husband’s chest.

This is absolutely perfect! This day has certainly turned around!

“I’d like to thank you again mo nighean donn for insisting we get an extra large tub put in here.” Jamie said. “And thank you to Murtagh for finding us a bargain.”

“I’m convinced he knows a lot of people who owe him favours.” she laughed. “Nothing and everything surprises me about your godfather the more I learn about him.”

He’s the closest I’ve had to a father since my own died. I can’t imagine what our lives would be without him. The kids adore him as well! And not just for his excellent cooking skills.

“Probably so. And speaking of surprises, I heard you have one for me. Are my spies correct?” he inquired.

She nodded, give him directions, and teased him as he tiptoed to their closet to find the wrapped box. He carefully opened it to find his book with a folded piece of paper inside it.  At her urging, he opened the piece of paper to see the faint outline of a baby.

Wait for it! One, two, aaaaaand….

Jamie let up a yell then jumped back into the water with Claire sending bubbles flying. He pulled her face to his then kissed her until she broke away.

“I’m glad you’re excited but I think we need to clean up after tsunami Jamie.” she laughed.

He shook his head. “I regret to inform you that you’re going to first kiss me and then I plan on making you yell loud enough to scare the cat.”

I am a fortunate woman.

2p!face + 2p!russia and how they relax their stressed out s/o? Thank you!

((Sorry i’m answering mostly smut thing, but it’s me ya know ))

2p!France/Francois Bonnefoy- Sex?…No? Okay fine, if you say no to that then he’ll suggest maybe a nice dinner somewhere so neither of you have to cook, his treat of course. Maybe a massage later, just a massage, promise.

2p!America/Allen Jones- If you admit to being stressed (becasue he may not have noticed) then he will go all out with the stress relief efforts. Massages, cooks for you, plays games with you, everything he can think of.

2p!Canada/Matthew Williams- Well…just do what he does. Have a stiff drink, then another and a other, pass out, worry about it tomorrow. If that‘s not your thing he insists on a nature hike, where you get a nice serene view instead. Perhaps the better suggestion since that won’t give you a hangover.

2p!England/Oliver Kirkland- Oh no! You’re stressed! Why didn’t you say something earlier?! It’s amazing actually that you could be stressed with how he pampers you, but clearly he hasn’t been doing enough! He’s gonna spoil you even worse get ready for some next level doting.

2p!Russia/Viktor Braginsky- He would have noticed you were wearing yourself thin and had a talk with you about pushing yourself, to much. Helps organize and adjust your life for more relaxation time. He is the best here becasue he doesn’t make it a quick patch, he helps you prevent it.
