6 things i stopped buying: minimalism journey (+ reduce waste)

1. Makeup Remover Wipes: instead, use a washcloth (preferably black) and apply coconut oil or almond oil to the cloth (or face), then use the cloth to wipe your entire makeup off until satisfied. *(continue with face wash routine or face mask)

2. Plastic Toothbrushes:  instead, buy a pack of bamboo toothbrushes on amazon or a general store. use these brushes as you would any other brush and thoroughly brush to improve oral health.

3. Multi-Step Facial Cleansers & Name Brand Body Washes: instead, use African Black soap for both your body and face with your preferred method of washing (electronic brush, hands, or wash cloth). for more simple face washes, consider using vegan and/or organic facial washes that work for your skin type.

4. Plastic Water Bottles: instead, use a simple stainless steel bottle that you can refill throughout the day and keep up with.

6. Animal Cruelty Makeup: instead, buy makeup products that you truly need (wear daily) from companies that are Animal-Cruelty FREE and/or vegan. do your research and spend your money wisely. some may seem expensive, but consider how much some high-end brands benefit from not being animal-cruelty free *(invest in vegan and/or organic products too).

DIY Beauty Tip for All

Hey eveyone! I have a great tip for guys and gals. 

Cheap at home facial exfoliator that only requires two things: lemon & aspirin.

This will brighten up your face as well as leave it nice and soft.

What to do? 

  • crush aspirin (I use two 81mg)
  • in a small bowl, squeeze a slice of lemon 
  • add crushed aspirin, swirl together
  • apply to face in circular motions, avoid eyes
  • rinse off with cool water, pat dry
  • apply face lotion and SPF as usual

No lie, it may sting a little at first. Don’t panic! It’s only the lemon juice. 

I use this exfoliator once a week usually in the AM for a brighter face throughout the day.

5-Minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

Yield: 4 servings

Prep Time: 5 min

Ingredients:

4 cups frozen strawberries
3 Tablespoons agave nectar or honey
½ cup plain greek yogurt
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Add the frozen strawberries, agave nectar (or honey), yogurt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor. Process until creamy, about 5 minutes.

Serve the frozen yogurt immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Weekend beauty tips ;)

So I haven’t done this in a while, lack of time and such. but I’m about to fuck you up with some great DIY face masks, it’s the weekend so pamper yourself, pal.


You need to clean your pores? 

This one great for acne. All you need is apple cider vinegar and some bentonite clay, which you can get at any Trader Joe´s. Mix equal parts of each ingrediet and leave on your face till it hardens and wash off with warm water to make it easier. The benotine clay will soak up impurities and with the ACV in the mix, it’ll draw out toxins. I always try and rest while doing this one, put cucumbers over my eyes and all just cause the ACV is kinda rough and it hurts my eyes a little. Your face will be red after this so do it at night, or at least 30 minutes before you go out. It goes away and leaves your skin flawless.

Acne? (for oily/combination, acne prone skin)

You need ¼ of an avocado and some egg whites. Mix it until you’ve got a  paste and apply it to your face for a good 15-20 minutes. It’ll leave your skin moisturized, but not over moisturized. Trust me, it’s amazing !

Dry skin?

You’ll need a cucumber, half a cup of plain yogurt and a spoon of milk powder. You’ll need to peel the cucumber and then cut it up into small pieces. Get rid of the seeds in the middle and then put it into your blender or food processor. Add the yogurt and the milk powder. Mix it all until you get a smooth, yet thick substance. Nothing too thick or runny cause that’s annoying and it’ll make a mess, we don’t need that in our lives haha. Now put it on your clean, dry face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. RINSE WITH COLD WATER. 

After all of these, you’ll wanna close your pores with an ice cube or just cold af water. I cannot stress this enough, PAT YOUR FACE DRY, it avoids wrinkles and the spread of bacteria.

The best shampoo ever!
It’s been awhile since I stopped using convencional shampoos and my hair looks much MUCH better.
I have been using Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) as a shampoo and cider vinegar as a moisturizer.
We can only wash our head with baking soda once every two weeks.

I tried to make this natural and organic shampoo!
Ingredients:
1 small or medium peeled cucumber,
1 peeled lemon,
Cinnamon and 2 cloves (these two are optional)

Just put everything on a blender, blend very well with a cup or two of water.
After blending just strain it to a Jar and that’s it!.

My hair looks A M A Z I N G, and it smells divine!!!
Definitely I will stick with it!

Note: When you wash your hair with it, make sure you rinse very well because of the lemon.

How to stay organised
  1. Keep all of your notes together. A folder is great for this especially a ringbinder because it is easier to see all your notes at once and flip through them. 
  2. Get a planner or a diary. To keep track of your assignments and due dates. You can also put personal events in here. This will help you plan your time wisely and prioritise important tasks.
  3. Plan out your day. I do this on a separate piece of paper from my planner. This is great for working out exactly what you need to do. You can make this into a timetable or just list the tasks.
  4. Keep on top of homework and assignments. Try not to procrastinate and get them done as soon as possible when you get them.
  5. Pack your bag and plan your outfit/uniform the night before school. This will stop you forgetting things in the morning rush and means that you can have a few extra minutes in bed!
  6. Make revision notes throughout the year. Not only does this help consolidate your knowledge, it also means that you will have all the notes you need for exams/finals.
  7. Use your time wise but also have fun. Work hard and playhard but please remember to rest!
  8. Keep a list of your goals. These can be longterm or shorterm but they will help keep you motivated and remind you what you are working towards!

Avocados add a silky consistency and cheese-like richness to this dairy-free pesto recipe. Ready in only 15 minutes!

Ingredients
 • 1 large bunch fresh basil
 • 2 ripe avocados
 • ½ cup walnuts or hemp seeds
 • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
 • 3 cloves garlic
 • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
 • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
 • Ground pepper to taste

Preparation
Strip basil leaves from the stems and add to a food processor along with avocados, walnuts (or hemp seeds), lemon juice, garlic and salt; pulse until finely chopped. Add oil and process to form a thick paste. Season with pepper and toss in pasta. Enjoy!

Oily skin management ( I myself struggle with oily skin. These are super helpful) _________________________________________


Oily skin is always prone to issues of several kinds. If an oily skin is not treated well then pimples, acne, skin breakouts are very natural to happen. Stress, unhygienic conditions, poor nutrition worsens the situation too. Therefore only proper care and treatment can sort the issues of an oily skin. 

Women usually feel their skin feels oilier during their periods and that’s due to the fluctuating levels of androgen. It is not only women but men too face the issues with oily skin. 

 There are some things that people with oily skin need to take care of and they are as follows:

 Wash your face twice: Make it a point to wash your face daily twice, which is in the morning and night. This will help in controlling the oiliness of the skin.

 Avoid touching your face: If you touch your face every now and then, the dirt from your fingers will get accumulated in your face and that aggravates the issues with oily skin. 

Check the cosmetics you use: Make sure the cosmetics that you use are all oil-free and they should be non comedogenic products to control the shine.

Eat sensibly: Avoid unhealthy food like junk foods and oily food. Consume more fruits and green leafy vegetables. 

There are many different professional treatments to tackle the oily skin issue but why make a hole in your pocket when you can get the same results with some natural products straight from your kitchen?
