shoutout to george, fred, and especially ron weasley for realizing that harry was stuck in abusive and unhealthy household and, in spite of the massive trouble they knew they could get in, taking immediate steps to personally see him removed from that environment, something no adult in harry’s life did.

Except for the first one - that I decided to post in a single canvas now -, here are some new sketches of Auror!Potter that I did - because I’m still inspired and when I’m inspired, I can’t stop. Dark and angst, just how I like him. This time, full body and sillhouettes too.

Bully lies unconscious on the floor with a bruise already forming on their chin. Hufflepuff stares at slytherin friend in shock. "What? You told me to stop hexing people" I love hufflepuff/slytherin friendships

  • “what? you told me to stop hexing people"
  • for a moment the slytherin thinks the hufflepuff is angry
  • their mouth is still hanging open in shock
  • did they do the wrong thing?
  • they thought it was clever, using their fists instead of their wand
  • they only wanted to defend their friend
  • of anyone, a hufflepuff should understand friendship and loyalty right?
  • but then the hufflepuff starts laughing
  • “who the fuck taught you how to throw a punch!?” they exclaim
  • the slytherin is confused
  • because last time they checked, they had knocked that bully clean onto the floor
  • so what was wrong with their punch?
  • “you don’t hold your thumb inside your fist like that you dummy, the force of the punch can break it if you do that!”
  • “well how do i punch someone then?”
  • so the hufflepuff demonstrates the proper punching techniques
  • and then makes the slytherin help them prop up the bully and carry them to the hospital wing
  • “i’m gonna get detention for this”
  • “you deserve it for losing your temper like that”
  • “yeah well at least i learned how to punch someone right… where’d you learn that by the way?”
  • the hufflepuff seems to hesitate, as if they’re too shy to admit it
  • and then they say, “i’m a half-blood remember? my mum was a silver medal boxing champion in the olympics. she taught me how to fight”
  • and the slytherin laughs because hufflepuffs
  • -but particularly this one with their fiery eyes, loud laugh, soft hair, crass humor, brilliant mind and rough hands-
  • never cease to amaze them
the houses as autumn aesthetics
  • slytherin: cold and grey mornings, walking barefoot on the cold floor, drinking coffee in the morning, wool socks, relaxing after a stressful day
  • ravenclaw: waking up early, looking out the window while drinking hot tea, staying up for too long reading a book u like, falling asleep to the sound of rain
  • gryffindor: sweaters that are too big, walking in the forest while quietly singing, sitting infront of the fireplace when its cold, vanilla scented candles
  • hufflepuff: wearing jackets that are too big, taking a walk while its raining, wool sweaters, kicking leaves while ur walking, autumn scented candles

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about Fantastic Beasts winning an Academy Award when none of the Harry Potter films ever did. And to that I say, “Really?”

We’re specifically talking about an Academy Award for Costume Design. For the most part, the HP films left the characters in their student robes. Simple and efficient, but nothing to really write home about. You have a couple exceptions of great costumes (The Yule Ball costumes, Dumbledore & McGonagall’s robes, etc), but for the most part we had student robes for 7 movies, and whole bunch of clothes off the rack from the Gap.

On the other hand, Fantastic Beasts is a 1920′s period piece with THOUSANDS of extras that all had to be outfitted in period appropriate wear). In an interview recently she talked about the usual rental studios not having enough 20′s apparel for their needs so she sent people scouring the globe to collect them. In addition to that, you have the gorgeous work on things like Graves’ coat, Picquery’s Phoenix dress and headdress, and Queenie’s coat, that was hand woven out of 30,000 feet of silk thread.

AND THEN THERE’S THE INTERNATIONAL CONFEDERATION OF WIZARDS SCENE, WHICH DESERVED THE OSCAR ALL ON ITS OWN

“I’m going to kiss you now,” he whispered gruffly, leaning closer. “I’m going to kiss you right now so that when you go on this disaster of a joke tomorrow, all you’re going to be able to think about is this right here, this very moment.”

(I may or may not have read the Room of Requirements scene recently. It may or may not be one of my favs!)
