or how she eats it

Again, Connie’s intentions weren’t to become a literal martyr or sacrifice for Steven. Connie doesn’t live for Steven - but we know Pearl certainly lived, and still lives, for Rose. Devoting your entire life to someone, losing your sense of individualism to please and serve someone else, isn’t healthy.

And poor Connie is eating this up - we know how she struggles with her self-worth. She’ll undoubtedly see this as a way to give more meaning to her own life.

Kids have it so rough these days.

Can We Keep Her?

Tmnt X reader

Warning: Swearing

Requested by the lovely: Anony

Prompt: Can I make a request where the reader is a runaway and she somehow finds the turtles lair when she was wandering the sewers. They were out patrolling. She ends up eating a bunch of their junk food and passing out on their couch and they get back and find her and have no idea how to handle it. She wakes up and apologizes for eating everything and invading their home but they think she’s sweet and adorable and decide to keep her? The 2016 version.

Notes: OMFG I LOVE THIS!!! Thank you so much for giving me this request! I hope you like it<3<3<3

Y/n: Your name

You were running. Your so called family don’t care about you one bit. So you ran away. Away from the hate and pain. They never physically hurt you but emotionally yes. The treated you like you weren’t even there and made you feel like shit. So it had been four days in the sewers and it wasn’t so bad, But you also hadn’t eaten in four days either. Which wasn’t good you need to find something to eat. But you didn’t have very much money. So you just kept wondering until you slipped and fell down this huge sewer waterfall thing and landed in a paradise! It had tons of junk food, video games, and a huge ass couch! Without really think you ate as much as you could take played a bunch of video games then passed out on the couch.

“Man tonights partoll was a piece of cake!” Mikey beamed “ It was a nice break” Donnie agreed

“Yeah for once” Raph smirked  “OK guys lets be quiet sensei  is probable sleeping- Who’s that?” Leo pointed at the couch. All the boys quickly rush over to you with weapons in hand. “Whoa hey its a girl!” mikey said MIKEY! They whisper yelled. But too late you heard that much and your eyes flutter open to four giant turtles? “ Oh OH MY GOD I’M SO SORRY I WASN’T EVEN THINKING WHEN I FELL DOWN HE IF SOMEONE LIVED HERE IM SOO SOOO SORRY ” The guys lowered their weapons. “Ya not scared of us?” Raph asked confused “Oh um no I don’t judge books by their cover you know? Plus i’m the one who came into your home and holy shit i’m so sorry” you said looking down. What’s your name? Leo asked “ Um i’m Y/n its nice to meet you” you still were trying to be polite. “Well it’s nice to meet you to i’m Leo this is Raph Donnie and Mikey so why were you down in the sewers? “It’s a long stupid story” you said. You didn’t meet his gaze and hot tears started to roll down your face. “Hey it’s ok Angelcakes you can tell us.” Um well- You told them everything about your parents up until coming to their lair. “ Again I’m so sorry I intruded and for everything else I- “ Hey it’s ok really” Donnie said and they all agreed. “So Can We Keep Her?” Mikey ask they all also agreed.

Kara mentions how Alex is protective of her. So now, everytime Rookie Officer Kara has a rough day at work, Maggie calls Alex and they take her to get burgers.

It’s a really great system: Kara feels better around food and her sister, and Alex is always amused by Kara’s appetite and Maggie’s presence calms her down.

As for Maggie, she just really enjoys seeing both girls a little bit more relaxed. :)

Based on @queergirlwriting ‘s fic (x) where Kara is a rookie that Maggie takes under her wing.

i love how sana’s season seems to tie in with the underlying disfunctionalities of friendships. from s1 julie always emphasised how she wanted to focus on teenage girls and their problems so she slowly established the girl squad who for the most part seemed to have this admirably strong bond, the girls were supportive of each other when they had boy or school or family troubles… but now that we see it all play out from sana’s pov we suddenly become aware of all the cracks, all the miscommunication, the constant little hurts that words/simply being ignorant/not paying attention to someone’s reactions to your comments can cause.

in the previous seasons we might’ve assumed that sana sometimes felt excluded but now we see just how much they don’t know about her private life. she had always come off as a girl who can’t be fucked with, a girl that is not phased by ugly comments or harrassment (the text on her locker) and who always has a comeback and can shake off any mistreatment easily. but now that we see the close-ups of her, there’s the sadness and the distance and those walls that never fully come down and how she needs to put back the brave/unbothered expression on her face every time vilde makes an ignorant comment or the girls plan an activity/order some food that doesn’t take sana’s religion into account and it must feel like a little cut that won’t kill you but makes you bleed. it’s the constant sores that you have to live with but sometimes new ones catch you unaware…

sana is so estranged from the other girls that she’s probably never brought them home, never talked about about her brother in detail, likely never talked about her religion with them and certainly never brought up how she finds all of these little things that occur daily so hurtful. i’m sure we’ll get there. i’m sure julie intends to show us that there’s only so much a person can take without breaking down/snapping/retaliating eventually. i hope we’ll see sana making them aware that inaction or assumptions/being inconsiderate are just as hurtful as straight out attacks on a person/their religion.

and we can also see that there’re many layers to friendships and even though the girl squad’s friendship may have seemed like a well functioning one at first glance, we now have an insight that noora makes up lies to get out of group activities, maybe bc she knows the topic of william will be discussed or she’s depressed bc of william, deep down she knows it’s over between them and the girls make it quite clear they want her to get over william. but she’s just not ready to move on and feels like she can’t talk to them about him. there’s always the offers from vilde or eva that they could set her up with someone, like being alone was unhealthy, like she failed somehow with william.

i’m sure the other girls also hurt. chris must hate how easily the others dismissed her breakup with casper, how they never bothered to ask what happened. just bc she tries to be a positive person doesn’t mean she never gets hurt when her relationship is taken as a joke or how awful chris feels when vilde looks in the mirror and exclaims how fat she looks and even though she knows the comment is rooted in vilde’s body dysmorphia it still feels like it’s an indirect criticism of her body…

we also know vilde basically got together with magnus bc of the others’ comments on how she was not getting any dick and who knows how triggering she finds it when noora reminds her of her eating disorder by pointing out something she eats (even if it’s just an ‘i’m proud of you’), it makes her question whether she should’ve eaten it or was it a jab that she’s eating too much?

or how eva hates the thought of jonas hooking up with any of the girls (yes, she’s over him but still, no) or how they sometimes jokingly say she has an alcohol problem, and yes, sometimes she gets that feeling that she’s being judged for being promiscuous. these may all seem like small things but they hurt

and then there’s sana who feels like an outsider in basically all areas of life except for maybe school (but even then it’s not the same for her - gym class sucks; she still gets the odd looks for wearing a different outfit). it’s the conversations about physicality with boys, it’s the food (’that pork with apples was delicious the other day’), it’s the parties where she’s the only one not drinking/smoking if noora is not there, it’s how they arrange to meet right when it’s prayer time for her and she never points it out to them, it’s the assumptions about her religion/family/values that she’s long stopped trying to correct… the list is endless.

so i really hope julie will educate us about many ways there are to be misunderstood, how to be better and more supportive friends, how not to dismiss the intricacies of every culture and religion, how to live and let live and be considerate and celebrate differences.

i spent 4578 yen to celebrate valentine’s day reading nothing but manga…

A painting for a very special someone. She’s beautiful, she’s witty, she’s the best and I love her more than words can express. Today’s her birthday and she deserves to be celebrated! Happy birthday, mum! I love you and forgive me for eating all your chocolate! ♥

“My mom always told me to take my elbows off the table, so that if I ever had dinner with a queen, I would know how to eat properly. But she also taught me basic things about being a gentleman, like opening car doors. Especially in Los Angeles, I think people lose those small gestures that harken back to a different time but are still mutually appreciated by men and women. Those little things are just nice.” – Chris Pine

Pavlov had it all wrong

I am a single adult human living in a house with two corgis. Got Girldog from a shelter when she was about a year, year and a half old maybe; got Boydog a few years later as an 8-week puppeh. And let me tell you something, from Day One, this has been a three-way psychological experiment. I no longer know who is manipulating who on a daily basis.

  • One of the first things I trained Girldog to do was not to bark at the dinner table; if she barked at me while I was eating, I put her in The Quiet Place (her crate) where she couldn’t see me. She learned almost immediately to subvocalize her barks, to let out a breath with just enough vocal cord vibration that I wouldn’t QUIIIITE consider it a bark and move her further away from the food. It’s a sound like this: “Hrrrr. Hrrrr. Hhhrahhh.” I didn’t realize how odd this was until my aunt came over and said, “That dog hissed at me.” “Yes,” I said, “she does that.”
  • Boydog learned to do tricks by watching Girldog. I never taught him to sit. He learned by watching Girldog get a treat for sitting. Once, I told both dogs to sit at the same time, while I held a treat in each hand. When Girldog didn’t sit quick enough, Boydog put his paw on her butt and pushed her down.
  • I hung a bell on the door and taught Boydog to ring it when he wants to go out. Girldog sees no reason she should ring the bell, as it is beneath her dignity, and she can get her way by barking instead. Boydog, however, will ring the bell for Girldog when she lurks around by the door, although he has no interest in going outside himself. Girldog has made Boydog her personal slave in this matter.
  • Boydog rings the bell when he doesn’t need to go out but thinks I have been at my computer too long. By the time I get to the kitchen, he’s nowhere near the door, but hey mom, as long as you’re up, let’s play! He obviously does not believe I can see through this extremely clever ploy.
  • Girldog once climbed onto a sofa, crossed the back of it, leapt from the sofa to my desk chair, leapt from the chair to the desk, and knocked all my stuff off the desk. (I wasn’t there, but it was obvious from the trail of destruction what route she had taken.) Then she got down and proceeded to ignore the bag of corn chips she’d encountered and focus her attention on biting my phone charger in half, chewing up a USB memory stick, and eating a pen. I still have no idea how she could be so smart and so dumb at the same time.
  • Boydog will chase a laser pointer (not uncommon for dogs introduced to them as puppies! Pro tip) but only when Girldog is not around, because she hates it for some reason and will tackle him for it. Girldog also likes to be outside while I want to be in, and Boydog prefers to have us both inside. Boydog will lead me to the laser pointer, pester me until I get it down, and then run around chasing the laser and barking madly. No matter how stubborn Girldog has been about staying outside, she wants to know what he’s barking at and immediately comes inside. (It is always the laser pointer he’s barking at, Girldog. Always.)
  • There is a chair in my bedroom that I cannot sit on. The dogs take turns sleeping on it, depending on who gets there first. The only hard and fast rule is that if the human sits on the chair, they will both lose their cool. The chair is for dogs only. I have not even tried to sit on the chair for about six months now.

I suspect I’ll be adding more of these as the three of us continue to train each other.

You have to tell me (Zach Dempsey, 13 Reasons)

The tapes were a complex situation to say the least. Zach Dempsey knew everyone’s dirty laundry. He did and everyone’s tape varied in how much it weighed on him. Justin’s second tape, that was shitty. He had to admit he didn’t look at his friend the same way anymore. Zach, he had a girlfriend now. He’d been talking to her for months until she finally agreed to go out with him. Quiet, but in theater and dance, Y/N never really wanted to date jocks. He pursued her for a while.

She had the wrong class with him, biology. Watching him in the class was captivating. He was so engrossed in the material and it was obvious he loved it more than basketball. She’d gotten stuck at basketball games because her friends would want to go. She’d seen how good Zach was. Probably the best on the entire team. But there was a look in his eyes that he got when he learned more about biology. AP biology was the only advanced placement class he took.

That’s when she knew he was different. After being made table partners in biology, she noticed him staring at her during tests and other activities where the teacher wasn’t lecturing. He started sitting with her at lunch. At first her friends stayed, but then they moved over a table, leaving the two of them alone. His friends watched from afar, with huge grins on their faces. She didn’t really know what Zach Dempsey’s intentions were.

He seemed different, but at the same time, at times he would speak like any other jock would to a girl. She tried to bore him at first, it didn’t work. Even if she was completely silent, he would sit there, watching her eat, a slight smile on his face.

After two months of lunches like this, she opened up to him. She began to like him. He began to sound like a person when he talked, rather than a fumbling idiot. And sooner rather than later she was his official girlfriend.

It was Tuesday, the day she and Zach would get together and study. Or ‘study’ depending on how much biology they had to work on. The last few Tuesdays had been weird. Usually, they’d get home right after school so they could beat her parents home, and they’d fool around. Right away, he’d get handsy. The last few Tuesday’s it hadn’t been like that. She had to initiate everything. He’d let her do some things to him, but he wouldn’t really do anything for her. On this Tuesday, she leaned in and kissed his neck, he didn’t really move and continued to read out of the biology textbook.

“Okay, I know I’ve gained weight. We just need to stop going for dessert so much. But am I really that gross? We haven’t been together that long. This is the honeymoon stage. We’re supposed to fool around. Like constantly.” Zach shut his book, laying back on the bed, looking more than beaten down.

“Not every couple’s the same- we don’t have to do stuff constantly.” He said, still reading out of the textbook. She felt herself turn bright red.

She backed away from him, cuddling up to a pillow at the head of the bed. He sighed, shutting his textbook.

“It’s not you, of course it’s not you. Come here.” He laid next to her, his arms snaking around her waist. He eventually moving to where he was on top of her, hovering.

“Is this okay?” He mumbled. She nodded, guiding his hands up her shirt. She didn’t respond verbally, she just ran her hands through his hair as he kissed down her neck. He suddenly rolled over, moving to sit on the edge of the bed and button up his shirt.

“Okay, you have to tell me what’s wrong, Zach. Do I bore you now? What’s wrong?” He was breathing heavily, but he wouldn’t look up at her.

“I just never want you to be overpowered. Or trapped.” His head was now buried in his hands. She couldn’t tell if he was crying or not.

“What are you talking about? If I was uncomfortable I would tell you.” She crawled over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind.

“Promise me that.” He mumbled, interlacing his fingers with hers.

“I promise. But why are you freaking out about this all of a sudden?” She asked in almost a whisper.

“I’m huge, I’m 6'3 and your so small an-” she cut him off, letting out a breathy laugh.

“You’ve always been a tree, and I’ve always been small, compared to you. There’s something else going on.” She got off the bed and went to her desk, taking a makeup removing wipe and beginning to take all of her makeup off. She was simply finding something to do.

She didn’t know what to expect of his answer. She wondered if he knew how much this was eating at her.

“Y/N it’s not your fault. I don’t want to hurt you. I’m sorry if you don’t get it I-” she sighed, not understanding how he was so dense.

“You’re hurting me by not telling me what the hell is going on, Zach! You’ve been acting weird for weeks now.” Her eyes became watery.

She wasn’t sad, necessarily, but she had severe anxiety that would force her to tears at times. Whether she was sad, or nervous, or frustrated. Sometimes even if she was confused. This was one of those times. Zach knew she was getting anxious and concern filled his eyes as soon as he saw the tears.

“Hey, hey-” she turned her back to him sharply, bowing her head as she tried to catch her breath.

“Get out. Now. Leave.” She said, still not turning to look at him. He rubbed the back of his neck, not knowing what else to do.

“Okay, okay. I’m sorry. Some stuff has happened and I don’t know how to feel.” She felt herself softening. She sniffled, biting her lip as she regained her composure.

“Specifics.” She said simply. He rolled his eyes. He didn’t know how to tell her. But he knew he had to. He could feel her trust slipping through his fingers.

“It’s just- a friend of mine. I found out he raped a girl. Actually, he raped two. And it got me thinking- I just- I don’t know how I’d live with myself if I ever did something and you were uncomfortable. I love you. I hate the idea of hurting you.” She turned around, he wasn’t crying, but he was trembling.

She covered her mouth, tears spilling out of her eyes. Someone she likely knew was a rapist. She didn’t know what to think. Of course she was curious. Who the hell was the rapist among Zach’s friends?

She felt dirty, as it was true that she hung out with them quite frequently.

“You’re not a rapist, Zach. I’d tell you if I didn’t want to. You have to trust that I trust you. You have to trust yourself.” She took his hand and led him to sit on the edge of her bed.

She sat on his lap, hugging his head against her chest. She did this quite a lot. He said he loved hearing her heartbeat, that it made him feel less lonely.

“If you’re worried about consent, I give it to you every time. I’ve never been uneasy or wary about anything.” He let out a groan. She looked at him as he looked around.

He acted as if he was thinking about what to say next.

“What qualifies as consent? Words, I guess. But how else am I supposed to know for sure?” She smiled at him. It wasn’t a great topic, sure. But he cared. He was showing how much he cared and that was beautiful.

“I guess I don’t really know. But, do you know how many times I’ve shoved you off of me? A lot. But guess what?” She looked at him. He bit back a smile, probably thinking of how hormonal he could be at times. He mumbled for her to continue, his cheeks blushed over a bit.

“After I push you away, you don’t keep at it. You accept my answer. All the times I haven’t given consent, you’ve listened.” He smiled and she grabbed his face, making him look at her. She looked him in the eyes for a while.

“Maybe you’re trying to keep me out of this for my benefit but.. please tell me you’re going to report this. Or that someone has already reported it.” He looked away from her. How was he going to tell her that he’d given the evidence to the next person?

“I-I don’t have the evidence anymore. It’s this process. I wish I could tell you, but I can’t. It’ll come out, though. And if it doesn’t, I’ll- I’ll go to the police.” She smiled sadly at him, wrapping her arms around him. He would, she knew he would.

DIDNT KNOW ID GET TWO UP TODAY! Keep requesting all! If I haven’t responded to you, don’t think that I didn’t get them, I’m working on them all and have a lineup. There will be a part two of this to simply fill the request’s specifics more, so look for that. Thanks :)
