An AU where young Keith, a Filipino-Korean, moves to the USA; on his first day at school, he refuses to talk, partly because he’s not exactly very sociable but mostly because he’s incredibly embarrassed about his English and lack of proficiency in it. O and shiro walks in
TRIPS OVER MY OWN FEET oh my god this was supposed to be black and white but then i wanted to paint but then gave up andCHRIST. my art style changes 600 times during this comic its dISGUSTIGN. THEN AGAIN it was rly rushed i just wanted to get this idea outta my head before school starts.
as an artist, i beg of u all on tumblr to please make sure u reblog art “responsibly” -we talk about how bad it to steal and repost and not credit art all the time, but we never talk about how easy it can be to avoid spreading stolen/reposted/uncredited art (also reminder: someone can repost art with credit and a link, but still be doing illegally or against the site’s TOS if the artist didn’t give them permission to repost it in the first place)
like, for example, sometimes it’s super obvious! if it’s captioned “credit to artist” (as in literally says “artist” with no name,) or something like “don’t know who made this but i like it!” then it’s definitely stolen/reposted w/o permission and it’s very simple to just avoid reblogging it so as not to spread it around uncredited thereby harming the artist, bc no one knows it’s their work, and now the stolen, uncredited work possibly has more attention and shows up higher in search algorithms than their actual post
if a piece of art has no artists commentary under it, u go to the op and see there was never commentary under it AND doesn’t have tags indicating it belongs to op and doesnt seem to be a portfolio blog, it’s probably stolen
uncredited/stolen/reposted without permission art is bad, it’s against copyright law (in the US, which are the laws tumblr goes by since it’s a US company)(and yes even fanart is protected by copyright to some extent and protected in tumblr’s TOS), it’s against tumblr’s TOS, and it harms artists, especially ones who aren’t popular to begin with. and it’s so, so easy to minimize the problem by simply not reblogging work that is obviously stolen, uncredited, or a repost. i mean, many people even ADMIT something is an uncredited repost. that doesn’t make it okay, and it’s an easy indicator to not reblog it.
and i know sometimes it’s hard to tell and we make mistakes and accidentally reblog something stolen, and that’s understandable! but many times it’s really easy to just not spread or support stolen/uncredited/reposted work
if u care about artists, pls try to avoid reblogging posts that steal or repost their work without credit and/or permission. it can take a toll on artists not only financially, but emotionally, and sometimes, people stop creating because of it :C
