PLEASE HELP ME, Im about to be homeless within a few days.

We were not able to pay rent as well as struggling with food, utilities, etc.

Not only that the landlord wants to take us to court.

I have been trying to hard to get work, commissions, etc. With no luck, now that time has come and I am going to lose everything.

We were already struggling with saving money for a place to live because our lease was up at the end of this month.

We had to not pay rent to pay car insurance, save for next place and food.

It is horrible we are gonna lose our cats too and I dont want them killed.

I am doing commissions, taking donations (my email is i will do ANYTHING commissions wise I just need money so badly..i dont care the amount really as long as I can get money fast i would do invoice but invoices stay in limbo until I can afford to pay off debt to get an official bank or credit card. So payment would have to be gifted.

I dont know what to do anymore please help me. Sculpture eise they are all for sale but you have to give me the shipping to pay (it is better just all then one) The only ones I have left are the lapis plaque, amethyst, pearl and garnet, I have others in progress and am willing to do commissions for sculpts too

Updated F.A.Q.

1) How do you pronounce your name?

It’s pronounced the same way as Maeve, it just has an Irish spelling.

2) How long have I been drawing for?

As soon as I could hold a paintbrush I was painting. Both my parents are designers who went to art college so I was encouraged at a super young age.

3) Have you taken any art classes?

Yes, I chose art as one of my subjects all through secondary school (high school I guess is the closest thing), I also did an art class outside school for about 2-3 years but I eventually grew out of it and just wanted to do my own thing. And now I am in Limerick School of Art and Design studying Animation and Motion Design. However, I would still classify what I post on Tumblr/Instagram as self taught because that all came from me, not a teacher.

4) Biggest Inspirations

I’m so inspired by so many thing so it is basically whatever I find eye catching so that might be; People, art styles, colour palettes, compositions, lighting etc.

I have been a fan of both Tony DiTerlizzi and P.J. Lynch for as long as I can remember, with my mom working for Candlewick Press in MA when we lived in America we always had hundreds of children’s books growing up, but those two illustrators have always stuck out in my mind. But more recently I have become absolutely obsessed with Jim Kay, I have the illustrated versions of the two Harry Potter books that have come out and my illustrated version of A Monster Calls is breath-taking. I also have the most gorgeous version of The Boy in Striped Pyjamas that was illustrated by Oliver Jeffers.

Glen Keane, Ollie Johnson, Frank Thomas, Milt Kahl are all animation heroes in my opinion, but I have such a huge soft spot for the company Cartoon Saloon, who are an Irish based animation company who created ‘The Secret of Kells’ and 'Song of the Sea’, obviously because of Irish pride but also because I was lucky enough to go to the studio and meet all the lovely people there who were nothing but kind and supportive of my work.

Gustav Klimt is my favourite painter because of the emotion he is able to capture with such subtlety.. that’s what I want my drawings to show.

5) How long does it take to finish a piece?

It really depends on the day, sometimes it can take an hour, sometimes a couple of days

6) What materials do I use?

For sketching I use lead pencils over 2B, drawing pens, markers, oil pastels, compressed charcoal and watercolour pencils - they tend to have the best pigmentation.

7) What Software do I use?

I draw with Photoshop, record speedpaints with OBS, and edit the videos with Premier Pro.

8) What tablet do I use

I use a Wacom Intuos tablet.

9) Do I take commissions and request?

I tend not to take requests, and I have in my blog description whether my commissions are open or not.

10) Can I repost your drawings?

Not on Tumblr, if you want to post them on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest just make sure you provide a link back to my Tumblr blog or my Instagram which is “meabhusd”

11) Can I make edits/colour in your drawings?

Yes of course, but once again, just link back to me.

12) Can I use your drawings as an avatar/header imagine?

Yes you can.

13) How old are you?

I was born on the 24th of April 1996

14) How do I create character designs

Well every time I read a book I will keep a notebook beside my bed to take down all the descriptions of the characters. Of course it is not enough to just have the physical descriptions of characters in my opinion. I always take into account the characters background/personality/settings etc. All of these elements contribute to a better and more interesting design. For example; if a character has a job working outside doing physical labour, they will probably have stronger bodies, more scars, freckles, sunburn or tans.

15) How do I make characters look more diverse?

Same-facing characters is one of the hardest habits to break and I struggled with it for such a long time! Still do. My advide would be to use references of multiple ethnicities first. After that you would be surprised how different a character can look if you change eyebrows, hairlines, jawlines, cheekbones, noses, lips and bodyweight. If you are relying on a different hairstyle to distinguish between each of your characters it wont work. Also adding features like scars/moles/freckles/facial hair can really make your characters unique.

16) Do I have any OCs?

Yes I do, though they are very under developed. I tend to be quite shy about posting about them because they are more personal than fanart, it’s almost intimate to me. They are under they tag 'meabhd’s ocs’.

17) Do you have any other blogs?

I have one for my college work @meabhd-art but it is very different to this one. Much more traditional work and a lot more abstract..

18) Why do I keep Anon asks off?

I have always been quite private and prefer when I feel like I’m talking to someone rather than a thing? I also have anxiety and it makes me nervous not knowing who is talking to me. I answer every single question, though I only publish them sometimes and I am more than happy to answer questions privately if you are not comfortable having a question published.

19) How do I get over art slumps?

Art slumps are so hard, like I’ve had my fair share of them! I find that they come from a place of repetition? So you keep drawing in the same format, or the same characters. So my advice is to change up and element of how you draw, it’s as easy as using a new brush of photoshop, but it will trigger a problem solving part of your brain that will try and adapt the new element to your style or whatever so it’s more interesting to draw.

20) Do you have any tutorials?

Yes they are in the tag “tutorial”

(Art)ic Monkeys

I’ve been at this for a year and a half. I don’t think my roommate came back from that drinking binge all those months ago, or if he has, I sure as hell didn’t notice. Either way, I don’t think they’d want to, given all the paper I have tacked about.

I came here to study biology, biology of all things! What foolishness I partook in, thinking that I would be content with all of that. The paints and brushes and pencils and ink and paper all disagree. All that time I spent putting my efforts into a “respectable” field just to satisfy my family. Too late I found myself in the dark halls, pencil and paper in hand as I tried in vain to put what I saw onto paper, instead of what was there. Too long, I found myself watching as the crows flew overhead in the evenings (I swear, they really are nice, even if Matilda Oh-So-Pretty-Bitch doesn’t think so. Damn chem majors.). Too long, I found myself looking for the shadows, backing off before I breached any sort of respectful distance.

The walls are covered in paper. Everyone else I bring over thinks that they’re blank, but I know better. I left them all outside my windows at night. If I am feeling up to it, I’ll turn down the music (one can only listen to Powerslave and Kill ‘em All so many times in a week) and extend an extra something out the door as do all the others, and clean up the salt a little. I don’t think everyone who wants my art lives in the dorm, or at the University at all, but I don’t care. I get my practice, they get their art, and I stay in their good graces.

I don’t see things the same. Color moves, shades and shapes shift and change when I look at them. One girl looked at me with eyes that were too unusual, fingers just slightly longer than they should have been. I mentioned this to a patron and I haven’t seen her since.

Sometimes I’ll leave whatever I’ve drawn out near the back of that 24-hour diner, and when I get back to the room, there will be an extra set of paints waiting, a few mason jars for mixing, and I know how to use it all.

I never touched paints before I got to Elsewhere.

All things considered, I think I’m going to have to switch majors.

anonymous asked:

Hi! I'm currently writing a story in which the protagonist is blind. The story is set in a fantasy world, and I've found that it's difficult to find advice on how to write a blind character in a fantasy setting. Most articles I stumble across are about blind characters in the modern world. Do you have any tips on writing a blind fantasy character? I want to make sure my story doesn't sound super ridiculous (a huge part of the plot is that she can kick ass).

This is actually a topic that sits quite close-to-home with me. I’m not blind, however, I’m partially sighted. My left eye has no sight, and have reduced vision in my right. I don’t know things from a blind person’s perspective, but I’ll do my best from what I know and what I would do.

If you are writing this story from a first-person perspective then you will need to think a novel way to include descriptions of your world. It’d actually be quite interesting, relying solely on sounds and the imagined landscapes of your protagonist. If they have not always been blind, then you could include things from that perspective too.

Also, you must do a lot of research into how blind people cope doing simple every day tasks. A lot of tasks will be the same in a fantasy world as they are in a modern setting: getting dressed, washing pots, etc. But also blind people who, say, take archery classes or anything like that. A lot of cool RNIB groups take blind people out for activity days where they might do a lot of things your protagonist might end up doing.

Research How Blind People were Treated in Different Cultures

A lot of fantasy draws upon different cultures laws, traditions, etc, and plays with them to create a completely different world.

Add a lot of historical cultures, too. Because in the modern day many cultures are bound by the UN and Geneva Human Rights conventions, but some practises, right or wrong or simply tradition, might have gone on beforehand.

Here’s some to start you off;

The Human Condition is Still The Human Condition

I’ve often heard it said about fantasy and sci-fi that, all though the worlds are different and strange, the characters must be human. (Well, unless they are aliens—that’s another topic.) But they must feel things, think things, work things out. And, all though your protagonist lives in a world that’s not like our own, they will still no doubt have a lot of the same feelings. Especially if they are young. I don’t know how old you are going for here, but here’s some things that really effected me as a partially blind person and some people I knew from various projects who were actually blind.

Being independent: A lot of us really wanted to be independent above all else, even when it made things harder for us. I was offered the chance to do exams in a separate area and be able to leave when I was done but I wanted to do them in the Hall and have to sit there for hours. We had teaching assistants who sat with us and most of us used every opportunity to ditch them or go without, half to prove we can do things by ourselves but half so we could join in.

Joining in: This brings me happily onto my second point. A lot of that first point was solely just to be able to join in. Yes, in the modern day it’s more of a… ‘Man, I was I could play games well,’ thing, but in a fantasy world it might be some great Tourney or Hunt, or simple childhood games in the woods that the protagonist wishes to join in with.

More than bullying, it was the people who tried to tell me I couldn’t do anything that hurt me. Bullies got told off sometimes, or came and went, but people like my mom or teachers saying what I couldn’t do; that sticks.

TL:DR: It’s the circumstances that change, not the emotions.

Avoid The Badass Blind Monk Who Can Kick Your Ass Trope

Yeah, unfortunately being blind can be a problem. As a half-blind person myself, and knowing how lucky I am to have any sight at all, I do find it annoying the amount of blind characters who seem to only be blind so that the audience can be amazed when they start pulling off amazing martial arts moves, or knowing exactly where things are to pick up, etc.

This isn’t to say your character won’t be able to learn martial arts, or maybe some magic that helps them with placement, etc. That’s fine. But please include drawbacks of actually being blind, things that blind readers would identify with and that readers with sight would learn a lot from.

For example, yes, it can be quite scary, when you are alone, and you can’t open your eyes. You don’t know who’s around you, friend or foe or terrifying monster. The protagonist never has to admit their fears or problems to others if that’s their character, but they can admit them to themselves. And, in that way, they can hopefully overcome them, too.

Finally, It’s not the best movie ever, but I’d also give The Village a watch, especially the scene in the forest. It handles the protagonist being blind quite well in that regard. But you’ll need to try and read some books that describe the situation, too.

“I love you daddy”
Big Bang five part drabble.

Member: Choi Seunghyun, T.O.P

A warm breath.

A kiss on the forehead.

An “I love you” whispered in the light night air.

And then coldness.

It slowly but surely woke me up in the middle of the night. The stars and the moon were so bright you could almost mistake it for a day. And the pillow next to mine was empty and cold. As it was most on the nights.

But he was here. His heavy masculine scent was floating in the air.

Slowly getting off the bed,the black ribbon of the lace panties was shown under the white dress shirt that belonged to the black prince himself. He likes art, chairs, aesthetic talks and alcohol.

Alcohol gives him a certain pleasure that I can’t understand as a non-drinker. It never gave me any pleasure. Only headache. And since the first time I drinked I haven’t done it again.

The living room was quiet as usual. Only the sound of cracking fire from the fire place and the cars down on the road could be heard.

The black leather chair or as I call it his throne was turned to look at the windows and the back of it was facing me. On the small table a bottle of whiskey and a glass filled with it were reflecting the lights from the town . The smoke from his ciggarete was going up,making a beautiful oreol above his head.

But something was different.

His hair was back to pitch black. Last night it was cotton candy pink. Pink made him look innocent and lovely.

White and brown hair made him pure and nice and all the cute shit.

And black…black was my favourite. When his hair was black no one could mistake who was the boss in the house.

And I loved watching him. In his peace. Watching the town, thinking about his own things, while I only observed him as a piece of art sent by the gods to protect me.

“Go back to sleep, kiddo. Sorry for waking you up. It wasn’t my intention.” His raspy voice was a melody that I loved so much. I felt something was off. His voice had hidden sadness that I couldn’t leave alone.

“Choi Seunghyun, do you need a hug or am I feeling things?” a laugh escaped his lips. I knew he was smiling and that was a beautiful sight, although behind him, I could just see it, feel it. “Choi Seunghyun? Since when you are allowed to say my full name?” his rules were unbreakable. Why did I even try? “Ok. I got it. Oppa, do you need a hug?” ”I need you to come and cuddle up in my arms. Now.” From sweet to daddy. Really Choi Seunghyun? Fine.

I did exactly as he asked. I curled up in his arms, my feet falling of the throne, with one of his hands curling around my waist and at the same time taking a puff from his cigarette. “You are the little kitten I always wanted when I was small, you know that, right kiddo?” A short full of emotions kiss landed on my hair. ”Now sleep. I will protect you as long as I can.”

I believe you,Choi Seunghyun. I beliеve you.

  2. for the second raffle winner, base color lineart + character of any choice!
  3. and for the third and last raffle winner, lineart + character of any choice!

  2. so, there will be a total of three winners! but this can change depending on the amount of entries, so I will still have to consider this

The Beastly Artbook ‘TEA~SE’

If you’re following me on Twitter ( @beastlybeverage ) you will know that I have been working hard putting together an Art Book taking a tongue in cheek look at the world of advertising. In short, your favourite characters drawn in a seductive pin up style advertising Beastly Beverages.

The book will be Kickstarted so that I can not only pay for the books to be printed, but also pay each individual artist for their hard work on the project. I have been informed that usually artists do not get paid for contributions to art books ( they get a copy of the book when finished ) but I want to be able to give back to the art community that have given us so much gorgeous fandom art.

I am planning on launching the Kickstarter on the 15th of May. My reason for choosing this date is that it will be well underway by the time London MCM comes around and I can talk to you all face to face about this project. This is a project of love and I am really proud of the work that’s been done so far.

Once the book is made I will be selling it on my shop and at conventions ( those who back the Kickstarter will have the chance to receive their copy first before anyone else! ) and £3 of every copy sold will be going to Planned Parenthood. This is something I believe is very important and they are struggling at the moment. Everyone should have the right to access help with sexual health. Everyone. And Planned Parenthood is trying to do that.

If you are an artist, there is still time to send in your portfolio to be considered as an Art Book artist. Send your portfolio to: The cut off date for entrants is: April 20th.

I appreciate all the support I have received for the book so far. But I do need some more feedback. I’d like to know what kinds of Supporter Perks you’d like in the Kickstarter. I am already going to include a Kickstarter only tea, prints of pieces from the book and Kickstarter only pin-badges and stickers. But what else would you like to see?

It’s an expensive project, I’m looking at around £7000. I have already paid half the commission prices for the artwork done out of my own pocket, but the artists should be paid what they’re worth and I intend to do that. And then of course there’s cost of printing and making the Backers Perks.

Please share this post far and wide! Please give me your feedback! I really want to see this book become a reality. It’s a real passion project for me and I hope you’re as excited about it as I am.

i can’t take anyone seriously when they say louis has no fashion sense. i’m not even saying this bc i’m so far up his ass i can see spleen. i’m saying this bc i pay attention to runaway looks and what’s coming out for ss17 and aw17. just because he’s not wearing stuff from major houses head to toe doesn’t mean what’s he’s wearing is unfashionable. Louis is wearing clothes from innovative and raw contemporary designers. ie. OFF—WHITE. do y'all see how popular street wear is right now? louis isn’t the only person whose style falls under that category. virgil abloh (the creative director of off—white) cites people like Mies van der rohe and caravaggio and iconic skate brands like supreme. like ? do u see this history? this is not just clothing this is literally art. abloh literally put streetwear as high fashion back on the map. louis is wearing beautiful clothes. y'all can suck my fucking toe.

Holding me back

Prompt: I never felt special. &  No one ever listens. & Do you think I’m scared of a woman? & I just wanna take you home. & Are you ever going to tell him? & It makes me wanna be all yours. & If you love somebody, better tell them while they’re here.

You used to be realy active and nice and freindly, and now it seems like you only reblog art and talk to your blogger freinds who you write MEL with. You ignor asks and you ignor fandom memes. Hi Anon-

TBH, this message took me by surprise.

Let me try and unpack your Ask a bit because I feel like perhaps I hurt feelings or did something wrong unintentionally. I also could go into all the things happening in my life on the other side of this screen, but you don’t need a bio (and I don’t think I should have to write one either).

Lady Lazarus
Sylvia Plath, 1932 - 1963
I have done it again.
One year in every ten
I manage it—

A sort of walking miracle, my skin
Bright as a Nazi lampshade,
My right foot

A paperweight,
My face a featureless, fine
Jew linen.

Peel off the napkin
O my enemy.
Do I terrify?—

The nose, the eye pits, the full set of teeth?
The sour breath
Will vanish in a day.

Soon, soon the flesh
The grave cave ate will be
At home on me

And I a smiling woman.
I am only thirty.
And like the cat I have nine times to die.

This is Number Three.
What a trash
To annihilate each decade.

What a million filaments.
The peanut-crunching crowd
Shoves in to see

Them unwrap me hand and foot—
The big strip tease.
Gentlemen, ladies

These are my hands
My knees.
I may be skin and bone,

Nevertheless, I am the same, identical woman.
The first time it happened I was ten.
It was an accident.

The second time I meant
To last it out and not come back at all.
I rocked shut

As a seashell.
They had to call and call
And pick the worms off me like sticky pearls.

Is an art, like everything else.
I do it exceptionally well.

I do it so it feels like hell.
I do it so it feels real.
I guess you could say I’ve a call.

It’s easy enough to do it in a cell.
It’s easy enough to do it and stay put.
It’s the theatrical

Comeback in broad day
To the same place, the same face, the same brute
Amused shout:

‘A miracle!’
That knocks me out.
There is a charge

For the eyeing of my scars, there is a charge
For the hearing of my heart—
It really goes.

And there is a charge, a very large charge
For a word or a touch
Or a bit of blood

Or a piece of my hair or my clothes.
So, so, Herr Doktor.
So, Herr Enemy.

I am your opus,
I am your valuable,
The pure gold baby

That melts to a shriek.
I turn and burn.
Do not think I underestimate your great concern.

Ash, ash—
You poke and stir.
Flesh, bone, there is nothing there–

A cake of soap,
A wedding ring,
A gold filling.

Herr God, Herr Lucifer

Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air.
23-29 October 1962

Been roughly a year since the start of The Smothering.

Here’s a run-down of what’s happened in the last year and where we are now.

So originally I wrote out the storyboard for the episode out on 7 huge pieces of A2 paper, laying them out on the floor of my small room.

I then took the super sketchy ideas on the page, blu-tacked them to the wall above my Laptop, and redrew them all digitally as roughs. I added backgrounds, changed poses, modified shots I was unhappy with and just generally refined the storyboard as I drew.

After completing the roughs I started on the Line art. This is the process of redrawing the rough crappy sketches into much prettier, more appealing, art.

Currently I am finishing off page 5 of the line art, meaning that I only have 2 more pages to go until all the art for the project is finished.

(This is ignoring the backgrounds of episode, none of which have been done, but I do have some thoughts on how to rush those)

The remaining pages will not take that long, considering the fact that my later roughs looks less like crude, messy  sketches, and more unpolished line art that I merely need to draw over. You’ll notice that when the episode finally is released that the my ability to draw the characters massively improves as I progressed with the project. Like a microcosm of season one.

I’m hoping to have all the assets for the episode completed mid February. Then all that would be left is the editing. Which I would thankfully not have to do.

Have a Merry Christmas SU folks. I hope you’ll all like the episode when it’s finished.
