An amazing shot of Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas long before (I’m guessing mid 60’s) the Fremont Street Expience was conceived in the 1990’s as a way to draw more people to the ailing downtown gambling area. I wish I had a time machine!
I don’t know a lot about the Castaways Hotel and Casino, but one thing I can tell you is it knew how to attract big time entertainment. Just have a look at that marque out front…Not only Tom Jones but the Mod Squad Dancers!
I wonder if one day we might see a Hotel and Casino built in Las Vegas styled after the old Casinos from the 50’s and 60’s? I don’t know about you, but I’m becoming a bit bored with all the mega-casinos. I think it’s time to go back to a quiter and gentler time.
What do you think?
P.S. Note the shy front desk clerk peeking around around the corner.
