This could also be read as the shadow side of each energy in its most extreme form.
Aries- A human bomb waiting to go off, someone that acts on impulse, that cannot contain the shadow side inside them almost like the Hulk. Power comes from being the strongest, from a physicality, from brawn. A simple jolt could knock them from sense into reacting in the heat of the moment.
Taurus- Someone powered by greed and possessiveness, so think corrupt business people, wall street brokers, bankers. They would find power in the material world, and may become so trapped in the five senses that they lose all sense of soul beyond this. Corruption comes in the form of excess.
Gemini- A double crosser, someone that can turn people against and play them off each other. They could appear in one form to one person, and in another to another, think mystique. Charisma, charm and intellect would be used to run rings around their opponents.
Cancer- Emotional manipulation, a feeling of making others feel sorry for them or playing the victim, somewhat deceptive. They may commit crimes in passionate moments, overcome by an irrational emotion. There could be a defensiveness or paranoia that leads them to believe that the world is out to get them, and therefore anything they do is justified.
Leo- Think a power hungry King or Queen, a volatile one whose self-worth demands the appreciation from their subjects, somewhat like Loki. They would rule in their own self interest at the expense of those around them. There would be greed, orders, and a sense of others needing to appease them at all times to escape fear.
Virgo- The “brains.” Someone that uses their vision for intricacy to run rings around others intellectually. They can get things down practically, uniting this grounded energy with their often crystal sharp mind. They would be the ones behind the computers, initiating cyber attacks or leaking classified information.
Libra- Libra could have a way of playing with peoples emotions, of forming attachments and using them in a savvy way to their advantage to get ahead in life. They could infiltrate any social circle, only to turn it inwards on itself, to play people like puppets. Their knowledge and interest in people in general lends them the information to peoples sore spots, especially because they are often friendly appearing and seemingly trustworthy.
Scorpio- A truth seeker to the extreme, where they like to hold a mirror up to society, giving people the impossible, unwinnable choice. They may use the corruption of others as an excuse for their own corruption, forcing those secret parts of ourselves into the light unwillingly.
Sagittarius- They would likely be drawn to an ideology, holding it as superior than the ones of those around them. They would be hot headed and exude a confidence, often a charismatic one that can bring others with them. Their quest for knowledge, no matter of what form, could lead them to pry where it is best that no one pries.
Capricorn- Someone that is power hungry, maybe even an authoritarian governmental figure, someone that uses the financial industry to their advantage. There could be the use of tunnel vision to such an extreme that the emotional world gets cut off entirely.
An anarchist perhaps, someone that finds a beauty in the act of destroying something itself, in chaos. Or some kind of brainiac who thinks that progress and invention is the only way for the world to adapt no matter what it wipes out on the way, what foundations become broken, a kind of survival of the fittest way of looking at the world. An eccentric genius.
Pisces- Someone that dedicates and sacrifices themselves for a corrupt or nefarious cause. They may initially enjoy the breakdown of barriers between themselves and others, only to find that they may have been deceived themselves. Their chameleon persona is mysterious and inviting, used to draw people in, yet also deceptive,
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
It all began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern over each race. But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged, in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
This curse was created to bind someone with their own greed, need for power, and the wrong that they have done, and make them realize what they have become, based off of how the One Ring corrupted the bearer of the ring (though this will only affect the person this curse is aimed at).
Yarn or String (at least a few inches long)
Scissors and/or fire (To break the curse)
Begin by taking a length of yarn or string, and visualize the end of it tying onto the target’s finger.
Loop the yarn, and tie it together into a circle. Make the knot as tight as you can.
Continue by wrapping the extra yarn around the “ring”, and as you go, chant “One Ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them”.
Once you come to the end of the yarn, knot it on the ring, and visualize it trapping all of the greed/any bad that the target has done to them.
Put the “ring” somewhere it will not be disturbed.
To break the curse: Cut into the ring with scissors, making sure to cut the knots, and toss it into a fire (the fire is optional, and please use proper fire safety)

The Lord of the Rings II The Fellowship of the Ring “The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost. For none now live, who remember it. It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else, desire power. For within these Rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all of them, deceived. For another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the dark lord Sauron forged in scret a master ring to control all others. And into this ring, he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all…“

Our group stumbled upon a ring in a spotlight at the bottom of a mystical statue:
DM: “you see a ring in the center, with three stones…”
Cleric: “one ring to rule them all…”
Warlock (me): “A ring of three wishes?”
DM: “it’s a cock ring of three wishes…”
Warlock (me): *whispering* “and in the darkness, bind them…”
Two archeologists dig through the abandoned ruins of what was once called “New York City”. Deep within the rubble of an old building, something small and rectangular lays in the dirt.
Upon further inspection is seems to be a book of some sort. The pages are yellowed with time and the spine is hanging by a thread of synthetic fiber.
“The Book seems to be written in a strange dialect” says Man #1.
The archaeologists take the book back to the lab for testing. Calling upon linguists from around the world, the first chapter is deciphered.
“When Mr. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced that he would shortly be celebrating his eleventy-first birthday with a party of special magnificence, there was much talk and excitement in Hobbiton.”
They were amazed at what they found. A tale of magic, bravery and great battles. Although the stories we’re far-fetched and fantastical, the paper on which was printed was thick and well cared for. Someone had gone through great trouble to produce it and therefore it must be based in truth.
And thus a new Religion was born.
Faction after faction of humans flock to the site of the holy text. Finally, after thousands of years of secrecy, humanities history is finally revealed. Though there are no longer elves, hobbits or wizards, Humans have obviously prevailed and are meant to rule the Earth until the day Gandalf the White will return and lead them to Paradise.
Millions of people wear golden rings around their fingers to symbolize their devotion to their faith. Drawings and likenesses of the Prophet Frodo and Protector Bilbo hang in the home of every devout believer.
This is the one true religion. And any who reject it will be thrown deep into the flames of Mordor where Smaug will torment their souls for all eternity.
“’M not, am I?” He glares at you, lips turned down deeply at the corners, voice rising in offense. “’S been nearly three weeks since I got to touch yeh.”
“You know why.” Your voice has softened some. You know what he means. The weeks of limited interaction have been equally torturous for you. But there’s a reasonable cause, and you really don’t want to get him into trouble.
“Yeah, I know,” he huffs, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms. “Doesn’ mean I like it.”
