O-Of course I know who the members of AZALEA are!

They’re…*looks at smudged writing on hand*

and who could forget our beloved first-year,

7

Last night there was a candlelight vigil held at the Magic Kingdom at park close to honor the victims of the Pulse massacre. It was unofficial and not sponsored by Disney in any way. And yet, Disney showed their solidarity and respects in a uniquely Disney way.

After the nightly “Kiss Goodnight,” the atmosphere music was shut off and all of Main Street was cloaked in dead silence as hundreds of people held candles, phones, and glow sticks into the air. And then, in an unexpected show of support, the colors of the castle changed from red to yellow, then green and blue and finally purple.

Disney also allowed working cast members to attend in costume and even shut down a few of the Main Street shops. Emporium cast members, who lost one of their own in the shooting, stood directly in front of the castle with a heart made of glow sticks. Inside the heart, among the candles, were trinkets and small things that cast and guests left to show their respects such as stickers, celebration buttons, maps, even Photopass cards and Mickey ears.

As guests exited the park, they were handed rainbow Mickey pins or Mickey love pins by working cast members. And cast members who left through the tunnels were handed rainbow Mickey antenna toppers.

I cannot put into words how comforting and important it is to see Disney showing their support for the LGBT+ community. They didn’t have to acknowledge the vigil at all but they did and they made it more magical than anyone expected.

Humans are Dangerous

So I was thinking about this whole aliens thing, and i remembered a post about aliens not being able to throw, and are very surprised at how a human could throw a wad paper into the trash can. I’m sorry its not linked, I couldn’t find it.

Anyways. I was thinking, maybe aliens cant aim? Just like, everything they do is in close contact, fighting, playing sports, exercising, whatever aliens do. Whenever they fight, the aliens with canons that actually hit their opponents are thought to be some amazing super race.

And then, humans come in. These bags of flesh who dont seem to be able to survive the conditions of their homeland. And then one casually throws a wad of paper into a bin a good 30 feet away. Of course, the aliens thought it was luck, that the humans hand just spasmed, and everyone was fine with that explanation.

Until humans joined into some war. Suddenly, no one was safe. Humans can be immense distances from their target and still hit. Ships with canons aren’t viewed as a bounty that no one else has, rather, a ship without one is useless; a resort ship.

Humans bring sports that involve aim, like basketball, football, soccer, badminton, tennis, practically everything! Archery and shooting ranges are fun spots to test your accuracy, available to the country! Even the games their children play, throwing water ballons, frisbees, the carnival games for gods sake!

And this is what causes the fear for aliens when they are in an area humans may are, or have, been. Humans can kill them out of their eyesight, untraceable.

Aim, such a small thing, aim, caused aliens to want humans when fighiting, would do anything for them, the humans becoming tyrants, the universe their tyranny, without even knowing, as humans are completely oblivious to everything.

Sorry for the run on sentences, I ramble a lot.

This Mar-A-Lago Member Had A Great Time Photographing Trump Handle A National Security Crisis
This Trump supporter says he was at the "center of the action" as Trump dealt with the news that North Korea had just fired a missile in the direction of Japan.
By Mike Hayes

While President Trump handled a national security crisis right in front of dozens of patrons at his Mar-a-Lago hotel in Florida on Saturday, one resort member posted a flurry of photos to Facebook showing Trump reviewing sensitive documents, conferring with top aides, and talking on the phone.

The images also raised questions about the level of access Mar-a-Lago members have to the Trump administration — a seeming blend of government and personal business for the president.

Richard DeAgazio, a Massachusetts businessman and Trump supporter, shared the photos that show he had a front-row seat as Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe handled the response to North Korea’s firing a missile in the direction of Japan.

“HOLY MOLY !!! It was fascinating to watch the flurry of activity at dinner when the news came that North Korea had launched a missile in the direction of Japan,” DeAgazio posted. “The Prime Minister Abe of Japan huddles with his staff and the President is on the phone with Washington DC. the two world leaders then conferred and then went into another room for hastily arranged press conference. Wow…..the center of the action!!!”

In an interview with the Washington Post, DeAgazio described the situation unfolding before him at dinner on Saturday night before the two left to hold a joint press conference.

“There wasn’t any panicked look. Most of the people [on the terrace] didn’t even realize what was happening,” DeAgazio said. “I thought he handled it very calmly, and very presidentially.”

This episode is not the only time the DeAgazio, a former president at Boston Capital, whose Twitter profile describes him as a “Consultant ,SAG Actor, entrepreneur, network marketer,” claimed to witness over the weekend.

In another post, DeAgazio claimed to be photographed alongside “Rick” who “carries the “football” — a briefcase that contains all the details necessary to launch a nuclear attack.

OP AU where One Piece is the new virtual reality mmo that’s just come out and is super fucking popular the world over.

At level 10, players choose whether they want to join the Marines, or become pirates.

Players who become pirates will then join up with other players to make their own “pirate crew” (guild) and set sail from their beginner island in search of new adventures.

Often, the pirate crews that beginners join at level 10 are just temporary crews until they reach one of the major cities, and can then part ways to join one of the bigger crews stationed in the Grand Line that usually have recruiters stationed at the major cities.

The beginner islands that users can choose from are scattered throughout the four Blues, and each island has its own loyalties.

The Conomi Islands, for example, are a popular starting island for players aspiring to become pirates, as it’s the HQ of the Arlong Pirates.

Whereas players looking to become Marines will, obviously, start at an island with a Marine Base.

Luffy, never being one to think things through or plan ahead, decides to choose his beginner island randomly and ends up at Dawn Island - one of the resort islands popular with those players who were just playing One Piece for the beautiful scenery. Most of these players never set foot in the Grand Line, and spend most of their time exploring the four Blues or meeting people and hanging out in the island they chose to settle down in. As a result, there aren’t very many quests to help a newbie level up, and Luffy ends up stuck on Dawn Island for a long long time as he slowly, painstakingly raises his levels through grinding, and saves enough money to buy a boat that will take him to at least one of the better suited beginner islands.

At one point, he’s almost saved when the Red Haired Pirates (a crew usually stationed in the second half of the Grand Line) visit Dawn Island so that their Captain can visit his irl wife at the bar she runs in-game, and so that she can meet the crewmates he’s always telling her so much about.

However the Captain, Red Hair Shanks, refuses to take Luffy along with them because he’s still only at level 7 and it’d be dangerous for him because even now there are like three Marine ships tailing the Red Hair Pirates, wondering what the hell they’re doing in the East Blue. He does offer to give Luffy enough Gold to buy a little boat for himself, but Luffy’s too proud to accept charity from another player.

In the end, the red hair pirates stay at Dawn Island for about a week, just relaxing before they’re thrown back into the fray of the New World, and during that time Luffy friends most of the Red Hair pirates, and also ends up accidentally eating the Gomu Gomu no mi, a super super rare item that Shanks had been planning to sell in the AH.

In the end, about a month or so after Shanks and his crew leaves, Luffy is finally able to get off Dawn Island, and begin his adventure towards becoming the Pirate King.

And the first crewmember he’s planning on recruiting?

The super infamous pk’er, Pirate Hunter Zoro!

Do you know what it feels like
to feel like a burden
to everyone you know
Do you know what it feels like
to hope each notification you get
is a friend checking to see if you’re okay
and then realizing that nobody cares
Do you know what it feels like
to look around the house for enough pills
to just make it stop
Do you know what it feels like
to google “Painless suicide methods”
only to be disappointed in your findings
Do you know what it feels like
to force yourself to do things you don’t want
in hopes that you’ll feel good about yourself
Do you know what it feels like
to lose everything
and make it seem like you still have it together
Do you know what it feels like
to go through constant cycles
of highs and lows
Do you know what it feels like
to do everything you can
to just stop feeling the way you do
Do you know what it feels like

as one last resort
only to feel like a burden
Do you know what it feels like
to wonder if you need help or just attention
Do you know what it feels like
to hate yourself for even asking for help
Do you know what it feels like to just want it all to stop.

2015 > 2017

Tan > no tan

Two summers ago we went to Hawaii, and these “before” pictures are old remnants of that vacation. I don’t even keep them saved to my phone because I was so humiliated by myself; my mom had to send them to me for this.

I wore that sweater in sweltering heat because I was ashamed of my upper arms. I remember walking back to our resort one afternoon and my inner thighs were sweating and chafing so badly that they bled, which caused me to waddle-walk in a ridiculous way. My family kept asking me what in the world I was doing, but I couldn’t stop because it hurt so badly otherwise – I was embarrassed and in pain.

I was categorically obese, and the years I spent like that were some of the most unhappy and unhealthy years of my life. I was anxious and depressed, I had abysmal self-esteem, and I had no idea what to do.

This past year, I changed my entire life. I overhauled my eating habits and I got active. I honed in on personal growth and made big, huge adjustments to my lifestyle and my social circle. I have achieved more than I thought would ever be possible.

Today I am a significantly happier, healthier, more confident woman. I feel proud of my achievements and I feel more capable as an individual. I have fought hard to get to where I am; this is a battle that never stops, but I am happy to continue.

If you are wondering if it’s possible: it is.
If you are tired of being stuck: make the change.
If you’re in a bad place and you want out: take the reins.

American democracy is approaching a critical moment. President Trump and his followers are stepping up their attacks on the press. In both word and deed, they have set out to challenge the very assumption that a free press is a crucial and indispensable part of our democracy.

A Republican congressional candidate allegedly assaults a journalist — and gets away with it. Security guards at the Federal Communications Commission rough up a reporter who tries to question an official. Someone fires shots at a newspaper office in Kentucky. The enabler in chief in all these cases none other than the president himself, who has repeatedly railed at journalists — at one point resorting to the Stalinist expression “the enemy of the people” — simply for doing their jobs.

People in the United States, who have relatively little firsthand experience with authoritarian leaders, tend to be somewhat naive about restrictions on press freedom. The typical American generally assumes that the prime danger to reporters is a vague practice known as “censorship.” Yet censorship is a blunt weapon at best, and quite often it’s the last resort of dictators who have already established their control and want to maintain it. If we want to anticipate what Trump is likely to do next, it makes more sense to look at a different set of countries — those where leaders have gradually subverted democratic institutions on the way to building up their own personal power.

Consider Turkey. These days, now that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has enshrined himself as a virtual ruler for life, it’s easy for him to simply throw journalists in jail. Yet not that long ago, when he still had reason to maintain a democratic veneer, Erdogan often opted for intimidation, applied indirectly. Rather than attacking critical journalists head-on, officials ordered tax audits or punitive inspections of businesses owned by the offender’s relatives. The government also became adept at exerting pressure through the owners of private media outlets, who were often all too eager to rein in their reporters.

Vladimir Putin followed a similar pattern in Russia when he took power in 2000. At the time, the country still had a variety of competing media outlets. But the new president didn’t deploy censors against them — he sent in the tax police instead. That’s how he began his crackdown on NTV, the privately owned TV station that had made a name for itself by criticizing the government. NTV belonged to the oligarch Vladimir Gusinsky, who soon found himself indicted on fraud charges relating to his business dealings. In the end, the company was taken over by Gazprom, a state-controlled rival. The critical reporting ceased soon after that.

It’s worth noting that Trump has already hinted at the use of comparable tactics. He has threatened to unleash an antitrust action against Amazon, the company founded by Jeff Bezos, as a form of retaliation against critical coverage from the Bezos-owned Washington Post. He has also vowed to sue the New York Times for its reporting on sexual harassment claims against him during the campaign (and again for publishing leaked pages from one of his tax returns).

[…]

Will Trump follow through? It’s possible, of course, that the president is merely trying to keep his critics guessing. But one thing is clear: If the experience of the world’s ex-democracies is anything to go by, this is no time for complacency.

L’Officiel Hommes April 2017; Chanyeol’s interview (Part 1)

L’Officiel Hommes: EXO has since outgrown their previously cute and naive personas, to adopt the current “High Profile” celebrity status that we know of today. What are your personal sentiments about holding such a title?
Chanyeol: I believe everyone has had that particular dream about being able to stand proudly above all the legacies that they have built for themselves. However, personally i feel that albeit having yet acquire that level of prestige as a group, i’m able to find solace and confidence beneath our ability to put up an impressive stage performance that everyone will enjoy. Having said so, there’s also an underlying sense of unease along with it as well. Hence in order to prolong and maintain our current statuses, no actually, a better way to put this would be to call this the driving force towards our desire to constantly show you the improved and better sides of us, which explains the need for us to find ways of improving and developing ourselves. Another way to go about it would also be to spend whatever personal free time I have fruitfully, by engaging in activities that would not only be solely for the sake of enjoyment, but also be able to aid the process of further developing myself as a person.
L’Officiel Hommes: What type of role do you think you play in EXO? Aside from the usual roles that you associate yourself with during your introductions, or the Chanyeol that the fans identify with. Instead, talk about what you personally think your role is inside of EXO.
Chanyeol: An interesting person. To put it nicely, i’m the mood maker/ happy pill of the group; acting as my fellow members’ source of energy. Because i want the members to thoroughly enjoy the times we share together. Moreover, we all started off aspiring for the same goals and dreams, even going as far as being fated to be debuting in the same group is something i really feel should be deeply cherished. Which is why i’m constantly cracking jokes with my members, as this is also one of the ways i feel i’m secretly able help the leader manage the group better behind the scenes. An advantage i have would be both my age and training period, as i’m mainly in the middle when it comes to these aspects, hence it makes the task of getting along with my fellow members a lot easier.
L’Officiel Hommes: You’ve recently displayed your television personality to us. How has the overall experience with regards to acting been for you so far?
Chanyeol: Prior to embarking on the television series “Missing Nine”, i have had previous exposure, having previously given the opportunity to star in various online drama series and even a Chinese movie production. Having said that, i still received the support from my fellow casts members. I felt really comfortable with the role assigned to me, hence i was hoping for a positive reaction (from the viewers). To conclude it simply, i find acting very interesting. Coming from a background where when it came to the aspect of acting, i didn’t have exceptional skills per say, neither had i previously undergo any vigorous trainings for acting, i made sure to always clarify my doubts with the director whenever possible, even going down to the nitty gritty details of my fellow senior’s expressions and the way they orchestrated their dialogues. I’m gradually realizing the charms of the acting industry as i’m exploring it.
L’Officiel Hommes: Who is your favorite actor then? Also, what would be your “Life” movie?
Chanyeol: My favorite actor would have to be Jack Nicholson. I’ve pretty much watched almost every single one of his movies. In the movie “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” where he portrayed the character Randle Patrick McMurphy, Melvin Udall in “As Good As It Gets”, Warren R. Schmidt in the movie “About Schmidt”. He has greatly displayed his outstanding ability to portray each and every single one of his roles distinctively. Although my favorite actor is the former, my favorite movie is one that he unfortunately did not star in, it’s “School Of Rock”. I would go as far to say that this movie bears a great influence my decision towards my current life path. I started learning more about music back in my high school days, but back then, it was purely out of interest. But during my 6th year, i watched the aforementioned movie, which became the decisive factor towards my choice in pursuing music as a career. The movie’s main protagonist, Jack Black, is seen having the time of his life whilst balancing his career as both a musician and actor. Upon watching this movie during my younger days, it fostered the dream of my desire to become a singer in the future.
L’Officiel Hommes: Amidst starring in movies, participating in variety shows, being a singer, composer and performer on stage, what sort of activities do you often engage in during your period of short breaks in between? Do you continue participating in activities or do you just completely lay off everything temporarily to take a good rest?
Chanyeol: To me, composing serves as both a form of entertainment as well as relaxation. I would describe it as my ideal form of healing time. I particularly enjoy composing in hotels when i’m overseas. When i have some extra time off in the dorms, i’d usually spend them by playing computer games with Baekhyun. I would always have a particular activity that i’ll be engaged in at any given span of time. By that i mean that i would devote my time and effort to being able to really grasp, hold and master the task at hand or until i reach the standard of my personal expectations. Recently, snowboarding has become one of my favorite forms of past time. I remember being exposed to snowboarding back when i was a toddler, but i was never truly able to experience snowboarding during the winter back then. I’ve even been on a midnight snowboarding escapade before. In fact, this past February, i was at one of Hokkaido’s skiing resorts (Kiroro). Not long ago i had the same passion for both pool and bowling.
L’Officiel Hommes: Well then, amongst all of them (his hobbies), which one still holds a special place in your heart?
Chanyeol: I’d still have to give this to composing. I’ve always harbored a strong, underlying passion for lyrical composition. I’m constantly engaged in a cycle of experimenting with various forms of music, through the process of success and failures. Through this repetitive process, i think i’ve developed and found my own personal style of music. Although i’m always striving to compose something great, as of now, even if it falls short of that, i’m cool with it. I enjoy the process of learning and exploring whilst i’m self-composing. I find the process of venturing into various genres of music that i’m previously not familiar with, thoroughly refreshing. I find the conversations i have with the new people i meet extremely precious. Hence, i’m always carrying a small notebook (laptop) around, so that i’m able to jot down any inspirations that i may have along the day, which explains why it’s always an essential item i always carry in my backpack. Even with a short period of 10-20 minutes of spare time, i’m always looking to brainstorm about new lyrics.
L’Officiel Hommes: Amongst all of EXO activities, which, in your opinion, left the deepest impression on you?
Chanyeol: I still vividly remember our very first debut showcase back in 2012. That was my first time experiencing the true feeling of nervousness. History was our very first song, and i remember we had our backs facing the stage in preparation, as we heard the loud screams of many. The loud screams coming from a group of 3000 people, really overwhelmed me with the feeling of nervousness from head to toe. After the performance, i asked the members about how they felt and they all felt the same. That experience was truly memorable, and has since been engraved in my memory.
