one of the many reasons why i ship them

You know Jae-Suk Fans I just realized something...

I have many reasons why I ship Jae yeol and Hyung Suk but this one takes the cake

The only person who saw Hyung suk cry (in his hot body) was Jae Yeol.

And the only person who saw Jae Yeol cry was Hyung Suk.

GUYS. THEY LITERALLY SHOWED THEIR VULNERABILITY TOWARDS EACH OTHER I FREAKING SHIP THEM FIGHT ME ON THIS.

Do you want to know why I ship Stalia?

It’s not stereotypical. Stiles isn’t a knight in shining armour. Malia isn’t a damsel in distress. Stiles does not belong to Malia and Malia does not belong to Stiles. They don’t need to say a line as simple as “I love you,” to know that they are loved and adored in the relationship.  Stiles is not physically as strong as Malia, however his manhood is never questioned. Malia is physically stronger than Stiles, but the narrative does not dwell on this fact.

They are both at times in need of help and guidance, which they seek from one another, but it never presents either one as weak and reliant on the other. They’re times when Malia needs Stiles and times Stiles needs Malia, as seen in 3x20 where Stiles lets Void in to save Malia’s life, but before this, she stopped him from screaming after his bad dream and coaxed him back to reality. In 4x04, Stiles trusts Malia enough to let her go, evidently knowing that he could die, but he doesn’t, because he helped her control her own power.

In 4x07 Stiles says goodbye to Malia, who is physically weakened by the virus, but he does this to back up the point that the idea of “if this person dies, it will break me because I can’t picture them not being around,” not because she is weak and needs him to always be there, this moment just shows that Stiles knew she could fight it, he believed in her. In 4x08, we see the side of Stiles that misses Malia, calling her and dreaming of a time when she was by his side.

In 4x10, we see they have both missed each other equality and still want to see where their relationship is going; in 4x11, we just see them being a normal day-to-day couple, just happy to be together, even more so when the Sheriff takes them out to dinner. In 4x12, we see that Stiles is worried about Malia being stuck with Peter, but trusts in her that she will not join his side.

In 5x01, we see a couple, in love but they don’t need to show off this love; it’s not the kinda cheesy love where they “can’t go a day without seeing one another,” they are just happy, happy together. Stiles talking about the vision and Malia wanting to be a part of it, just shows that the future doesn’t scare them and they are just proud of one another!. “I like the vision,” “I’d never leave you behind,” “are you okay,” are just normal phrases which such a bigger impact than “I love you.”

Even during their break up, they were breaking; both had tears in their eyes and couldn’t look at one another, not until the right end. For Stiles, this is his first love, he knows that he is dragging himself down on this self-destructive path and the person next to him doesn’t mind being dragged down with him, but he can’t have that, so he walks away! Not knowing that by walking away, he broke the only person who believed.

Even post-break up, it was so clear that they still cared and they didn’t want to be apart, the glances, the support and just being side by side! The Desert Wolf, a trained assassin, dared to use Malia’s love, her genuine love and compassion for Stiles against her, by threatening to kill him! Once again clarifying that Stalia isn’t your stereotypical cheesy ass couple, who need to say “i love you,” to reassure the other (you guys know who I’m talking about) Stalia is more “If this person dies, a part of me is going to die with them,” and even though the Desert Wolf had a vendetta against Stiles, he still went there and fought a werecoyote to save Malia, and she did the same to save him!

So many couples on TV, most ships on TV are about belonging and being a “trophy,” but our society normalizes this and they get shipped!  The girl’s seem to need saving and they are weaker without a guy!

So many people don’t understand why I stan Stalia, it’s because it defies normal television stereotypes, this is one of the main reasons it’s hated, but it should be a reason for it to be adored.

This is why I ship Stalia.

I hope I find a love like it.

WILL WE SEE A MARRIAGE BETWEEN JON AND SANSA IN GAME OF THRONES?

And will the pairing that a lot of fans already want be the one that we all need?

A few book readers speculated that a political marriage between Jon Snow and Sansa Stark would be not only possible, but the best thing for House Stark, and maybe even for each other. However, the idea of any kind of match between them was a quiet cult theory, until season 6 of Game Of Thrones, which set Twitter and Tumblr on fire with the idea of the “Jonsa” romance ship. In this article, I’m going to go through as many reasons as I have discovered for this potential pairing, the foreshadowing that a lot of people might have overlooked, and why readers and viewers should think twice before completely dismissing the idea.

As I am starting with the books, I’ll go ahead and start at the very beginning, before the books were written. In George R. R. Martin’s outline for the series, he had a love triangle in the works, between Jon, Tyrion, and Arya. Even before the first book was finished, he had plans for Jon to wed a Stark cousin. The outline states on the subject:

“Arya will be more forgiving… until she realizes, with terror, that she has fallen in love with Jon, who is not only her half-brother but a man of the Night’s Watch, sworn to celibacy. Their passion will continue to torment Jon and Arya throughout the trilogy, until the secret of Jon’s true parentage is finally revealed in the last book.”

Given what I am about to lay out in this article, there seems to be a strong chance of GRRM having kept the cousin love triangle, but switched at least the sister, if not the other man (Jon/Tyrion[Littlefinger]/Sansa).

Jon and Sansa began their stories, and left Winterfell, with very similar ideas and worldviews, despite their differing personalities. Both were not just young, heady, and optimistic; both believed in the songs they were sung to as children, but in the heroes the songs described. Both had fantasies of a quieter life and family that, conspicuously, left each other out, and synchronized perfectly with each other.

I would need to steal her if I wanted her love, but she might give me children. I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb. Val would want to keep her sister’s son, but we could foster him at Winterfell, and Gilly’s boy as well. Sam would never need to tell his lie. We’d find a place for Gilly too, and Sam could come visit her once a year or so. Mance’s son and Craster’s would grow up brothers, as I once did with Robb.
He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. I have always wanted it, he thought, guiltily. - A Storm Of Swords - Jon XII

This is a fantasy Jon had, ostensibly about Val, the Wildling sister of Mance Rayder’s wife, whom Jon was infatuated with, at the time. However, she does not feature at all after a cursory mention of stealing her away. He fantasized much more about the hypothetical family than her, and both that fact, and his fantasy-family makeup, is very telling, in three ways.
1.  This fantasy is a direct and near-perfect recreation of the Stark household that he remembers, with him as the new Neddish patriarch.
2. He is not fantasizing about a Wildling girl who walks through Walker territory like it ain’t no thang, or a warrior girl, or a highborn princess, or even a platinum-haired nude dragon queen. He is fantasizing about Val as a mother, and more importantly, as not only the mother he knew (Catelyn), but how he wished Catelyn to be.
3. Most women that we read about in aSoIaF or watch in GoT do not share this fantasy; Westerosi girls tend to be action girls. The only female character who had any kind of similar fantasy, let alone one that synchronizes nearly perfectly to Jon’s, is Sansa:

She pictured the two of them sitting together in a garden with puppies in their laps, or listening to a singer strum upon a lute while they floated down the Mander on a pleasure barge. If I give him sons, he may come to love me. She would name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon, and raise them all to be as valiant as Ser Loras. And to hate Lannisters, too. In Sansa’s dreams, her children looked just like the brothers she had lost. Sometimes there was even a girl who looked like Arya. - A Storm Of Swords - Sansa

Although they fantasized about different people ostensibly (Jon-Val; Sansa-Willas/Loras Tyrell), both fantasies complete the other, and tell very similar stories about each of them. Both think that love is an addendum to marriage, and something that needs to be worked on. They both disregard the personalities of their interest for what they remember of their mother and father. They both recreate their dead and missing siblings, with exceptions. Robb, Arya, Bran and Rickon are noted, as well as even a Ned. The only figures missing are themselves and each other.

What makes this so extremely notable is not just that the fantasies click perfectly together. It’s not even that Jon’s always wanted exactly this, even from the start, when he dared not wish for his own family. What makes this truly meaningful, is that there is only one girl in all of Westeros who knows what growing up in Winterfell was like, and who wants the same thing as him, and is not yearning for adventure, vengeance, a throne, or power, let alone above this desire.

Just as Sansa is the only person who fits the bill for Jon, Jon is the only man who has lived up perfectly to Sansa’s fantasies and dreams of heroic knights in shining armor.

“Sweet one,” her father said gently, “listen to me. When you’re old enough, I will make you a match with a high lord who’s worthy of you, someone brave and gentle and strong. This match with Joffrey was a terrible mistake. That boy is no Prince Aemon, you must believe me.” - A Game Of Thrones - Sansa

Curiously, although Prince Aemon Targaryen is a historical character in the Ice & Fire/Thrones universe, Prince Aemon is also the role Jon would take in childhood mock jousts with Robb; judge for yourself if that’s a coincidence.

“I’m Prince Aemon the Dragonknight,” Jon would call out, and Robb would shout back, “Well, I’m Florian the Fool.” -A Storm of Swords – Jon XII

(Sidenote - foreshadowing with other foreshadowing: if you think about it, Robb literally died a fool. He got himself, and Cat, killed for love, when he could’ve married the Frey girl, gotten safe passage from the Freys, and marched towards Kings Landing to avenge his father and rescue Sansa. But we all know what he was thinking with instead of his brain…)

Jon is by every and all accounts the valiant and heroic knight Sansa wished and pined for, as a dreamy 11-year-old girl. Before I continue, I have to add that the men of the Night’s Watch are often referred to as The Black Knights.

Jon has all of the qualities of the kind of man Ned described to her, as well as all of the qualities of the kind of man she’d always wanted; both as a young, wistful girl dreaming of Aemon the Dragonknight making Queen Naerys his lady love, and the shattered, hardened, and disaffected woman she’s grown to become. She has discarded her fairy tales, because she has realized, through firsthand experience, that those fairytales are not nearly as pretty as they sound. The fairytales are horrifying; they are soaked in the blood and tears of the events and people they describe. Jon is the only character who can fulfill both the dreams and fantasies of 11-year-old Sansa, and the disillusioned young woman who’s never until now known a true hero. No other character in either aSoIaF or GoT can do the same:

Frog-faced Lord Slynt sat at the end of the council table wearing a black velvet doublet and a shiny cloth-of-gold cape, nodding with approval every time the king pronounced a sentence. Sansa stared hard at his ugly face, remembering how he had thrown down her father for Ser Ilyn to behead, wishing she could hurt him, wishing that some hero would throw him down and cut off his head. But a voice inside her whispered, There are no heroes, and she remembered what Lord Petyr had said to her, here in this very hall. “Life is not a song, sweetling,” he’d told her. “You may learn that one day to your sorrow.” In life, the monsters win, she told herself, and now it was the Hound’s voice she heard, a cold rasp, metal on stone. “Save yourself some pain, girl, and give him what he wants.” - A Game Of Thrones - Sansa VI

That he did, albeit with poor grace, crossing his arms, scowling, and ignoring the naked steel in his lord commander’s hands. Jon slid the oilcloth down his bastard sword, watching the play of morning light across the ripples, thinking how easily the blade would slide through skin and fat and sinew to part Slynt’s ugly head from his body. All of a man’s crimes were wiped away when he took the black, and all of his allegiances as well, yet he found it hard to think of Janos Slynt as a brother. There is blood between us. This man helped slay my father and did his best to have me killed as well. - A Dance With Dragons - Jon II

Not long after, in the same chapter, Jon does the deed:

Emmett kicked his legs out from under him. Dolorous Edd planted a foot on his back to keep him on his knees as Emmett shoved the block beneath his head. “This will go easier if you stay still,” Jon Snow promised him. “Move to avoid the cut, and you will still die, but your dying will be uglier. Stretch out your neck, my lord.” The pale morning sunlight ran up and down his blade as Jon clasped the hilt of the bastard sword with both hands and raised it high. “If you have any last words, now is the time to speak them,” he said, expecting one last curse.

Janos Slynt twisted his neck around to stare up at him. “Please, my lord. Mercy. I’ll … I’ll go, I will, I …”

No, thought Jon. You closed that door. Longclaw descended.

Their geographic and psychological journeys are near-perfect mirrors of each other. Sansa heads south while Jon goes north. Sansa becomes Lady Lannister, then a bastard (an identity at least partially crafted on her ideas of Jon); then, in the show, Lady Bolton, and finally the Lady of Winterfell. Jon, meanwhile, goes from Bastard, to Jon Stark (in Robb’s will, which Jon hasn’t seen or heard about), to Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, and in the show, finally, King in the North. Both have to pretend they want nothing to do with their previous lives (Sansa as a prisoner in KL, and Jon with the Wildlings). Both have to essentially fake it to make it, as Sansa tries to actively forget she is not Alayne Stone, and Jon is tempted to stay with the Wildlings.
Through all of this, they both try to cling to certain things. Even after abandoning their childhood idealisms to make hard choices, and even through the processes of grieving for their family, as well as trying to become different people, they both have always held notions of justice, fairness, and even compassion close to their hearts and minds.

Also, out of all the surviving Starks, only Sansa sensed Jon’s death:

“There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, as big as mountains.” - A Feast For Crows - Sansa’s final chapter

As soon as news of Jon’s parentage comes out in the North, his claim to Winterfell will be, at the very least, heavily debated among and contested by the Northern lords. Although half Stark, he is not the son of Eddard, but of Lyanna. On top of that, he has a Targaryen father. Seeing as the Mad King killed Ned’s father Rickard Stark, and Ned’s brother Brandon. The Northern lords will have no loyalty to a Targaryen.
Jon/Sansa would be both an excellent twist of the kind that aSoIaF/Got are known for, and mutually beneficial for the both.
Their marriage would secure Jon’s claim to the North, unite the North as it needs to be for the War for the Dawn, and secures the safety and place at Winterfell for both. Also, as she says in the books, “No one will ever marry me for love.” It’s a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless; every and all other Lords would want to marry her for her claim to Winterfell. Jon, though, would never force Sansa to marry anyone. He knows what she’s been through. He cares for her, and would never hurt her in any way. Sansa knows this, and it might just be what will drive her to suggest they marry. Jon needs a Queen either way, to keep the Stark bloodline going.
I will even go so far as to say this: I think that the northern lords will want to make Sansa their Queen after they find out about Jon’s parentage, in which case, same thing; she’ll need to keep the Stark bloodline going. Add to that him being a Targaryen, and she a Stark, they would literally be uniting not only the North, but the South too.
Soon, every person in the whole of at least Westeros will find out about the Night’s King and the White Walkers. It is this exact moment that the North will need stability, and hope. A union between Sansa and Jon would give the northerners nothing less or other than that. Jon is a great commander. He is brave, and honorable, and he will do all he can to keep Sansa and all the northerners safe. He’ll fight for them. The prospect, the reassurance, and after the battle is over and the war is won, Winterfell and the North will be rebuilt, by its people with the support and help of their King and Queen. Everything points to their union.
The prospect, the reassurance, that after the battle is over, after the war is won, Winterfell, the North will be rebuilt, by its people with the support and help of their King and Queen. Everything that points to a good resolution for the stories of Ice & Fire, and Thrones, points to their union.

Even on Thrones, David Benioff and Dan Weiss have planted an insane amount of seeds for Jonsa. Not only for a political union, but in season 6 set the internet on fire with gooey Jonsa romantic tension, with gems such as this moment, from s6e5 (The Door):

Jon: New dress?
Sansa: I made it myself, do you like it?
Jon: Yeah, well, it’s—I like the wolf bit.

Brothers awkwardly fumbling for words to compliment their half-sister’s dress? Not something you see everyday. This scene was unnecessary, but D&D included it, I’ll allege for a reason. I’m not necessarily saying that Jon is in love with Sansa here, but the tension between them and their interactions are very awkward, and not how they should be between two people who think they are brother and sister. Also, this is not something a brother says to a sister in danger:

Jon: I won’t ever let him touch you again. I’ll protect you. I promise. (From s6e9 - Battle Of The Bastards)

Again, a bizarre choice of words, if Jonsa is not a component of the story. Brothers say things like “ I will never let him hurt you again”, or “tell me where he is”.  Let’s not forget most of their scenes have them speaking while being surrounded by warm candle light and with soft focus; quite a romantic atmosphere for two SIBLINGS.
The way their scenes were shot, do not only mirror Ned’s and Cat’s, but also Robb’s and Talisa’s. I find it hard to believe D&D wrote and shot their scenes the way they did accidentally. They wanted to do one of either two things:
either set Twitter and Tumblr on fire with Sophie and Kit’s chemistry; or, subtly, put this notion into our heads, have us talk about it, and speculate. Whichever they did, it obviously worked, thus introducing us to the idea, and actually preparing us for it.

PS I thought that @castaliareed and @fedonciadale  would be interested in this meta; I hope it’s good for a 1st.

On Irene, Molly, And Mary...

Ah, these women! What more can I say? I love them and it’s the very reason why I feel like I needed to talk about them, especially in light of “recent events.”

Now, I would’ve included Mrs. Hudson, but everybody loves her (I’m pretty sure all of us have secret shrines dedicated to her) and in contrast to these three other women, I haven’t seen anyone talk sh*t about her. Maybe the reason why I’m writing this is that I feel like these special women also deserve the same recognition? Idk. As usual, I’m waffling. Haha.

Anyway, going back to my point, I’m just going to start this ramble:

Molly Hooper

For someone who was intended to be a side character (since she was not a part of the ACD canon), Molly stood out because even before anyone else (even Lestrade who thought that Sherlock was a great, but not good, man in S1) saw the detective’s capacity for good, she was already there, admiring him. I honestly don’t think it was just his brilliance or his amazing cheekbones (lol) that captivated her, but it was the belief that Sherlock is something more than he what he leads on. He had his eccentricities, but she was able to look past that.

And if there’s one thing that I found compelling about her, it’s her character development. She didn’t dwell on her unrequited love, she wasn’t a martyr, she dated other people (shoutout to Jim from IT), she called out Sherlock for being an arse during that Christmas (ASiB), and by season 3 and 4, she became an all around BAMF.

So I don’t understand why I’ve seen people calling her weak. Because I personally believe that loving someone does not prevent you from being a strong and independent person. Molly never changed her ways for Sherlock. Sure, she swiped lipstick that one time, or she dressed up that Christmas, but it was to boost her own confidence. She knows that Sherlock doesn’t notice these things in a ‘I want to impress him’ kind of level, so I personally believe she was doing those things because she wants to – not for him, but for herself.

And seeing her in TFP hurt me like hell. She looked like she was having a rough day, and then Sherlock just pops in a request like that – it was disheartening to watch. But Molly Hooper handled it like a boss. Even if it hurts, she was in control of herself. She was angry, she didn’t want to be treated like a toy – she wanted him to know that saying those words are not and should not be easy. Even in pain and distress, she was able to teach Sherlock Holmes a lesson.

So if that makes her weak, then they should change the definition of the word in the dictionary, because there’s a huge amount of courage in there.

P.S. To be fair, Sherlock did say ‘I love you’ twice. Now, I’m an Adlock shipper, but so far, Sherlolly shippers had that dramatic Anderson-imagination kiss and two ‘I love you’s so cheers to y’all! 😉

Irene Adler

Queeeeeeeeeeeen! Okay, sorry! I just love this woman.

Personally, I fell in love with the idea of Adlock ever since I first read A Scandal In Bohemia. I never liked my ships to be ‘canon’ in a way that they’ll run off into the sunset and be all cheesy, and that’s why Sherlock and Irene’s dynamic resonated with me so much. I do blame them for developing my now logical and complicated approach on the subject of love, but I digress.

There has been a lot of criticism about the modern adaptations of Irene Adler, but I will simply focus on the BBC one for this post. Irene was, and still is, being reprimanded for being a dominatrix, but to me, it just made sense. Her initial role was to distract Sherlock and to lure him into unfamiliar territory, but sex isn’t the element that became the foundation of their relationship – it was their instant intellectual connection.

And this is also the very reason why we’re not dismissing Irene or Sherlock’s sexuality in shipping them, contrary to the common criticisms of these pairing. Even if Irene is a dominatrix, sex isn’t really what they are about. I know I’ve stressed this many times, but Sherlock admitted that he is captivated by Irene (”Craving the distraction of the game, I sympathise entirely…” his words, not mine) and Irene was also very much smitten with Sherlock, so it may not be romance (or whatever it is that normal people do), but they are indeed attracted to each other in a very complex level that I think even they don’t understand. To add to this, we already have an entire discourse regarding Irene being “gay” etc. etc. which I think makes her even more amazing because she’s like f*ck all your stereotypes, I’m going to swing all ways possible and be badass at it and I can’t… I just can’t deal with that point even anymore… She is more than that frickin’ label, for God’s sake.

Anyway, another commentary about Irene that pisses me off the most is the one about her being weak – again, similar to Molly’s. She didn’t ask for Sherlock to rescue her, and he absolutely didn’t beat her. In fact, he broke almost every single one of his personal rules when it came to her: flew thousands of miles to get to her, kept her Vertu (”If she’d left him, he would keep it. People do. Sentiment.”), thinks about her out of the blue, the TEXTING, and I could go on and on and on…. And she did make Sherlock “I haven’t begged in my life” Holmes beg twice in the most mundane, interesting, and sentimental way possible: “But I will have the camera phone.” “Please.”

This is a woman who can get by on her own, who has managed to stay alive despite the circumstance that she’s constantly on the run, and she is her own person, whether or not she has crossed paths with Sherlock Holmes.

So to put this in full-circle, I’ll just say it again: QUEEN!

Mary Watson

I never really appreciated Mary’s character in the ACD canon because she was barely even there. It wasn’t even explicit if she died or not, but there was a line that expressed Watson’s bereavement, leading to that conclusion in the books.

Frankly, just like Irene, I’ve been waiting for her character to make an appearance, and was almost settled by the idea that she might have been replaced with Sarah (John’s girlfriend in S1), but I still had my hopes up. So when she arrived in Season 3, imagine my excitement.

But it wasn’t until that scene in TEH where she was obviously amused by Sherlock that made me love her. Now, just a quick segue, I’ve always hated Sally Donovan because she was cruel to Sherlock and she didn’t really seem to have a redemption arc unlike Anderson. She was a representation of the world that treats Sherlock Holmes as an outsider. And Mary wasn’t like that at all. She was accepting and understanding, and unlike the common cause of hatred towards her, she wasn’t keeping Sherlock and John apart. In fact, she was trying so hard to assure them that things are not going to change – that they would still be Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.

Then we discover that she’s not as she seems, that she has secrets, and it explained why she cared for Sherlock– it’s because broken people try to fix other broken people through each other’s company. She was willing to compromise anything, she was greedy to not let John know, she was desperate which led to her shooting Sherlock – overall, her character has dimension. She’s not a bad or good, she has her own demons that she’s trying to overcome. When Sherlock told John that “you chose her”, it felt haunting because it resonates to our own horrors – we attract what we seek. And to me, it’s what made Mary – BBC’s Mary – a brilliant character.

These are just a few reasons why I can’t accept any hate towards these characters, their roles in relation to Sherlock and John, or even hate addressed to the people who adore them.

Overall, these three women were introduced to us in a sequence that also relates to Sherlock’s own development: Molly signified the value of trust, respect, and regard for his life; Irene embodied incredible wit, surrendering to the whims of sentiment, and finding a remarkable connection; and Mary provided the feeling of warmth, acceptance, and the balance between danger and redemption.

And again, dear haters, this is why they matter.

Hii can we talk about sugamons height an size difference please?????? Sugamon in itself is so underrated but I really wanted to talk about their height an size difference because it's one of the many reasons why I love that ship :')

Sugamons height difference is my everything!! It’s one of the reasons why I was so drawn to their ship, yoongi is at the perfect height to just tuck his head in the crook of namjoons neck when they hug. I always love imagining yoongi struggling to try and give joon a kiss, so namjoon just lifts him up and plants one on him.

Just look at them

Oh god and don’t even get me started on their size difference. Have you seen their thigh difference?!?

sugamons height difference is a gift that just keeps on giving.

[Possible Spoilers]

This is really late. So sorry for my usual tardiness! T.T Thank you to @lemonadethefifth and @rays-of-fire-and-ice for tagging me! I guess I’m going to have to make mini-essays/explanations again, huh… Challenge accepted! XD

NOTE: There are shows here that I haven’t watched for a long time now, so I may forget some things or even make mistakes. If so, please feel free to inform me of them!

[A fangirl with messy english coming your way!]

10. Vampire Knight: ZeKi [Zero Kiryuu & Yuuki Cross]

The first time these two were introduced, I immediately took a liking to them. With Yuuki’s cheerful and outgoing personality, she balanced out Zero’s seriousness and no-nonsense personality. I even loved the way they bickered!

When Yuuki found out about Zero being a vampire, she was scared at first, but she slowly accepted him for who he was. It was a nice transition, to be honest. Yuuki, the one who was afraid of vampires because of her encounter with one of them when she was little, began to protect Zero, someone whom she had been with for years, even though he became the kind of specie she was afraid of. I’ve always loved slow burn, and I associate it with this pair sometimes. They just have this appealing, mysterious aura about them, and whenever they interacted with each other, I felt the tension and excitement pounding along with my heartbeat.

I still haven’t finished the manga, but I will someday. :)

9. Ouran High School Host Club: KaoHaru [Kaoru Hitachiin & Haruhi Fujioka]

Haha, yup. Not Hikaru, but Kaoru. The less brash twin, the one who thinks things through a bit more. I’ve always shipped him with Haruhi, particularly because I feel that their personalities would complement each other more. Like the other non-canon pairs I ship, KaoHaru has potential.

I’m not sure if it’s Kaoru in this panel (because I’ve never read the manga),

but here’s a scene of them together. I had a hard time finding pictures of them together. They’re not that popular after all. :’(

Perhaps what appealed me towards them is that they don’t have much scenes together. I actually often notice pairings who stand in the background. XD But seriously, I really think they would’ve been cute together!

8. Fruits Basket: YukiRu [Yuki Sohma & Tohru Honda]

Still bittersweet over this pairing. I never got to finish the manga, mainly because I felt that it was wearing me out (not because my ship didn’t happen, mind you XD). To be honest, I’m still surprised why I like them. Like some people say, if they ended up together, they would’ve been a boring couple (not like Kyo and Tohru, who are apparently more exciting). However, for me, there’s hidden potential in this pairing. I would’ve liked to see Yuki bringing out his cold side towards Tohru and distance himself from her, while Tohru would be all confused why Yuki was suddenly acting like that. Kinda like a slow burn. I don’t know, but that’s what I would write. 😂 What I don’t understand, though, is why Yuki suddenly thought of her as a mother figure… I mean… huh…? Maybe I missed something? Because that train of thought from him seems so… misplaced…

Anyway, I still ship them no matter what. <3

7. Gakuen Alice: RukaRu [Ruka Nogi & Hotaru Imai]

SHIPPING THESE TWO IS FRUSTRATING. They don’t have much scenes together (though they are always drawn side-by-side) and they have very little interactions. That New Year’s chapter wherein they got stuck together was literally a brief piece of heaven for me.

I love Hotaru blackmailing Ruka. I also like how they can be bickering together one moment and then become serious in the next. For me, there’s just so much potential in this pairing that I want to scream. I‘ve devoured every fanfic of these two and I still crave for more. I’d do anything to read a doujinshi about them. Anything at all! T.T

This art by the author made me less frustrated, though:

But I still want more of them! (He’s not even looking at her 😭)

Sigh. I’ll probably write a multi-chapter fic about them sooner or later once I get too frustrated…

Honorable Mention: NatsuMikan [No explanations needed; their meeting was fated, and they go well together. Natsume’s a bit too forward for my taste, though, lol (plus the fact that he was only twelve years old back then). However, I still like their chemistry together! The slow burn was really great!]

6. Card Captor Sakura: SyaoSaku [Li Syaoran & Kinomoto Sakura]

[Btw, is this an official art? If this is a fanart, tell me and I’ll take it down.]

…I cannot even believe that I was so giddy over a pair of ten-year-olds. I was in high school when I started watching CCS, and I never expected to become so invested in watching it.

Syaoran started out as someone who was relatively mean to Sakura. He was like a bully at that time, lol. I didn’t think much of their relationship in those moments, but I thought that they were cute. Typical children’s antics, as one might say.

But when Syaoran started developing feelings for her, that was when I exploded from cuteness. Ohh gosh, I literally squealed over them. Me, who was fifteen years old at that time. Me, who was often teased by my friends and classmates as an emotionless person.

(watching CCS)

Mom: Rei…? Are you… giggling…?

Me: ………….No, I’m not. (pokerfaced)

That’s about the gist of it, haha!

Honorable Mention: EriTomo [I just find them really cute together. Also, their personalities complement each other well!]

5. One Piece: LuNami [Monkey D. Luffy & Nami]

One Piece isn’t about romance, and I strongly feel that Oda is not even planning on placing some sure hints about the ones who’ll end up together at the end of series. I like One Piece because of the story, not because of this pair (that I love so much). However, it’s nice to see a lot of scenes of them together. <3

From what I’ve seen/heard, I think they’re the most hated(?) pairing in One Piece. Hmm. What I like about them is their dynamic. I think what most of us can agree on is that the two of them trust each other very much. This particular fact is emphasized back when Nami betrayed the crew at the beginning of the series. She stole the ship, the treasure, left them behind while they fought against a strong enemy… yet Luffy still wanted her on his crew. That no one can be the navigator except for her. He disagreed with Zoro’s negative remarks about her and looked for her until they came to a stop on her hometown.

The scene that drew me to them is the hat scene. Yes, that iconic hat scene. For me, it was beautiful. Luffy treasured his straw hat so much and didn’t want anyone to touch it except for him. However, when he saw Nami crying and asking for his help for the first time, he had no qualms about placing it on top of her head. Then he proceeded to beat up a guy he didn’t even know much. He practically defeated Arlong with all he had not mostly because of the man’s treatment of the villagers, but because of the reason that he made “his navigator” cry.

…I will forever go down with this ship.

(Also, I LOVED THAT HUG AKSFNOAIGEIU)

4. Final Fantasy VII: CloTi [Cloud Strife & Tifa Lockhart]

In my personal opinion, they’re canon. Advent Children, On the Way to A Smile: Case of Tifa, and the original game itself confirmed it for me.

Cloud and Tifa were depicted to be childhood friends, yet in reality, they weren’t actually very close back then. It seemed, though, that Cloud had a crush on Tifa. It was really cute and sad at the same time, because Tifa had her own circle of friends while Cloud had no one. I don’t think Tifa ever ignored him, though(?).

This pair gets to me because of their tendencies to keep their actual feelings from each other. Tifa was confused about the Cloud who led AVALANCHE to defeat Sephiroth because of his mixed-up memories, yet she never asked him about them and only watched from the sidelines, possibly waiting for an opportunity to learn what the truth really was. Cloud, on the other hand, was a bit confident on the outside, yet was also actually confused deep inside about who he was.

But then the Lifestream scene happened. Tifa got to see the real Cloud inside his consciousness and proceeded to help him fix himself together. This particular conversation struck me in the feels (forgive the inconsistent image sizes; I only googled them):

Tifa: “Someone has to notice you…? …Who?”

I would say more, but I don’t want this to be a really long essay. XD So yeah, this is why I love them!

Honorable Mention: YuffEntine [This pair… Oh gosh, this is kind of a crack pairing, but I am just drawn to them in a way that I can’t fully understand. Vincent, the brooding individual, and Yuffie, the hyperactive teenager… My shipper senses are tingling like crazy! XD I can’t wait to see their HD interactions in the remake! <3]

3. Fairy Tail: NaLu [Natsu Dragneel & Lucy Heartfilia]

Words cannot express how obsessed I was over this ship back then. My first fanfic on FFN was of them as well as several others. I downloaded hundreds of fics about them, searched a lot of fanarts, and squealed over every scene they had in each episode. NaLu had been my online focus when I was in high school. These days, my great liking of them diminished a bit (because I haven’t read the manga for a while). However, I still ship them so much!

It was kinda frustrating that Natsu often seemed dense, especially regarding Lucy (does he know how many times he has made her blush? XD), but that’s a part of his character, I guess, and I admit that it’s also one of the reasons why I ship them so much. They’re always together because they’re close friends, and whenever they somehow teeter towards the line above friendship, I literally wanted to jump up and down in excitement! But then it would always come down to a comical scene, though, haha! Typical NaLu.

Ahh, that hug. I’ll remember it forever. <3

Honorable Mentions: MiraXus [That scene with Mira getting angry at Laxus will always get to me.] & LyVia […don’t ask me why. I just find their chemistry so adorable. I would’ve loved more scenes of them together!]

2. Bleach: IchiRuki [Kurosaki Ichigo & Kuchiki Rukia]

If I was obsessed with NaLu, I was just as much as obsessed with IchiRuki. Heck, before Bleach even ended, I already started writing a rewritten version of the manga with IR as the definite end pairing (because I thought back then that Kubo would give Bleach an open ending… guess I was wrong) as well as a Bleach Movie fic with Ichiruki as a pairing as well. 😂 Damn, I was really addicted to this pair…

What I love about this ship is that their relationship is unique. Like Kubo stated: “more than friends, but less than lovers”. They’re placed somewhere in between, and for me, that’s a special thing. They have a label of their own that isn’t limited by the terms romance and mere friendship. It can also be interpreted as something like: “they’re right in the middle of two boundaries; once one of them figuratively trips, their relationship becomes a new, different meaning altogether”. I’m not going to rant on and on about them (because there are far better metas that explain their dynamics amazingly) so I’ll stop it here.

Even though they didn’t become canon, they will always be canon in my heart! <3

Honorable Mention: HitsuHina [Always-frowning-and-serious Hitsugaya being overly protective of his childhood friend? Threatening someone if they made her bleed, promising to kill someone after they did her harm both physically and emotionally? This ship hits me right in the heart. <3 It’s just a shame there’s not much of them in the ending. I would’ve given anything for them to have a scene together, or even just talk! It’s been long overdue. T.T]

1. Naruto: SasuSaku [Uchiha Sasuke & Haruno Sakura]

Ahh, SasuSaku. The very first anime pairing I shipped, and what an awesome thing that they ended up together in the end! Happy days! <3

Others often have misconceptions about this pairing. For me, though, it’s a pretty simple thing. It was already obvious to me at the beginning that they would end up together, especially after that Forest of Death scene. That scene highlighted the start of Sakura’s character development and it also showed Sasuke’s care for her as a teammate. I mean, why else would he go on a (for the lack of a better word) rampage after seeing her so beaten up?

I personally believe/headcanon that Sasuke began to really love Sakura in the Blank Period. It’s just that he already built a foundation for the two of them way back then. It was fairly obvious that he grew to care for her, after all. I think the forehead poke signified the beginning of him seeing her differently. (Just my own opinion, though)

And, to address a bit of a sensitive issue… Their relationship isn’t toxic. I know it very well. “Toxic” is not a word that should be used lightly. If their relationship is “toxic” then they shouldn’t have ended up together. They shouldn’t have so many fans. It’s just that simple to me. :)

Sasuke’s behavior in Shippudden is not who he really is. The real Sasuke is the one who Team 7 saved, who Naruto himself saved from the Curse of Hatred. The real Sasuke is the one who started smiling genuinely in Chapter 698.

Ahh, I’m rambling again, so I’ll stop right here once more. Anyway, there may be many who hate SasuSaku, but there are also many who love them to the core. We all have different, varying opinions about every pairing. Let’s just not spread so much hate. :)

Tagging @aubreycanalaine to make a list like this. Haha! (Because I know how much you hate writing essays, lol)

I am maybe an ignorant person but ... I don't understand the Jonsa thing so ... I fou have time can you explain this to me .. ? And even if i'm a Jonerys shipper for years i would really like to know the Jonsa chemistery :)

Oh wow…

The thing is I think shipping is kind of subjective to a degree. It doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not because there’ll always be a group who think it shouldn’t be canon and so on and so forth. I don’t know how to explain Jonsa to someone who doesn’t see it (not that I’m blaming you for not seeing it! Some people just don’t and that’s totally okay!) but I will try my best, Anonny.

For me personally, it began in Season 6. I had no prior inclination for Jonsa or even an inkling of the possibility of them. Frankly, I was the most casual of Game of Thrones viewers. It took me nearly a year to actually finish watching Season 5 (but that’s mostly because my ex told me about the Sansa x Ramsay storyline and I hated it so much I refused to watch it). For me, GoT was and has always been a political fantasy drama with lots of boobs and blood. Shipping wasn’t on the cards for me at all (aside from my love for Gendrya). But then Season 6 happened and we finally, finally got a Stark reunion. Only this Stark reunion felt weird.

First of all, Jon and Sansa had so very little interactions (ie. none) prior to this. They were the two most seemingly random Starks to meet. And yet when they hugged, Sansa nuzzled his face. At first, I thought ‘okay, well they lost everyone and this is the first person from their old life they’ve seen’ and even in retrospect I don’t see it as particularly a romantic action on their parts. But it is a weird thing to have the actors do. Even if they were always meant to be platonic, nuzzling is weird for anyone not involved romantically or sexually. I would never ever nuzzle any of my family members or my friends, but then I’m not the best comparison. I don’t like physical affection from anyone I’m not dating so lmao. Still, I was willing to overlook that because it’s Game of Thrones. Maybe they’re just trying to amp up the intensity of the scene. But then you get continued lingering looks from Jon, strange awestruck half-smiles and dim romantic atmosphere. The most bizarre shot for me though was the tent scene. Jon and Sansa had to stop in the middle of their arguing to stare at each other, chests heaving with candlelight in the background. This is Romantic Trope 101. If you had siblings arguing with each other, there’d be more angry yelling, insulting and storming off. You don’t pause to stare at each other as you struggle to catch your breath.

This all contributed to my questioning over what I was seeing. I didn’t immediately think ‘oh yeah this is my ship’. I just thought ‘okay this is weird, right?’ and continued to think that for the rest of Season 6. Honestly, the idea of them as a ship didn’t really cement itself in my head until the very last episode where Jon kissed her forehead, lingered just a bit too long, stared at her lips, walked away and the immediate next shot is the reveal of R+L=J. It was like light bulbs flashing in my head, like ‘oh shit they’re cousins and cousins totally get together and is accepted as a viable marriage prospect!!’ I mean I suspected Jon wasn’t really Ned’s son, but the confirmation right after a Jonsa scene felt so so important. Not even through shipper goggles. It was what made me realise the strange tension between them wasn’t solely in my head and that this probably had a purpose for setting something up.

That’s the Jonsa thing for me. That’s literally how I began to ship them. I don’t know if this answers your question about their chemistry, but these were the moments that highlighted their chemistry to me personally.

The reason why I’ve stayed with this ship for as long as I have, I can list you the reasons below:

To paraphrase from a Tom Cruise film, they complete each other. I know, I know. How utterly cliched of me, but for lack of a better phrase, it’s true. I don’t even mean it in a their souls match and blahblahblah, but I mean that in personalities. Jon is the emotionally-driven, honourable, brave and intelligent military tactician, whose life has been consumed by war and physically fighting for survival. Sansa is the emotionally-guarded, brave, shrewd and pragmatic politician. Her life in contrast has been consumed by the political game and she’s had to mentally fight for survival. Jon knows the North and the dangers beyond; Sansa knows the South and the dangers there. They’re two sides of the same coin and they need each other to survive. Yes, I’d love it if it was romantically, but even taking that away, they still need each other. Together, they make a formidable team. They are Tyrion and Dani but better because there is no power imbalance. They’re equals. Yes, Jon doesn’t quite listen to Sansa sometimes, but him leaving her the North is a testament to his trust and respect for her. This is one of the reasons why I love and adore their interactions so much. You can still see how different they are as individuals but just as clearly, you can see how well they mesh together, and you sit there rooting for them both.

They offer each other something no one else does. S7 Sansa is the most open and honest and confident I’ve ever seen her and that’s all because she trusts Jon. He might disagree, he might argue, but she feels so safe in his presence that she feels comfortable enough to finally speak her mind and demonstrate how intelligent she really is. And for the first time, she can let herself love and hope again. You see that in the soft and affectionate way she regards Jon in any matter, and that is true even in the scowls and exasperation because those emotions are still born out of her love and thus her concern for him. She wants only the best for him and for their home. Ultimately what it comes down to is Jon makes her happy, safe, hopeful and strong. His faith in her is slowly restoring her own faith in herself. That’s all I’ve ever wanted for Sansa. Even if Jonsa isn’t canon, if Sansa continues to get this, I’ll be okay. But I do feel Jonsa as a romantic pairing would be the perfect way to conclude Sansa’s story. She’s been basically sold into two loveless marriages and believes no one will ever marry her for love even though all she ever wanted was a fairy-tail romance. If her story concludes with the valiant knight (Jon) and her falling in love and marrying, it would be the perfect end, and one that isn’t too fairy-tale considering their angst and conflict over being half-siblings-turned-cousins.

As for Jon, I personally believe Sansa’s return gave his second life meaning again. He had been so ready and determined to escape to the south and give up entirely. We don’t know whether he would’ve gone through with it and maybe he wouldn’t, but this was the lowest Jon’s ever been. He was so lost, so disillusioned, and insecure and broken, but then came Sansa and suddenly he had purpose again. Maybe it was simply family obligations, but you can’t say she didn’t inspire him to fight for his home. I don’t think Jon would’ve done it without Sansa. She also challenges him in a way no one else has since Ygritte and Jon needs that. He’s not the perfect hero; he doesn’t know everything. He’s been in the North too long to understand the political game the way Sansa does. She offers him insight into a world he had no prior knowledge in. She also offers him camaraderie, a partner with equal stakes in this war, and a friend who he can come to, someone who loves and respects him and believes in him so wholeheartedly. Yes, he has loyal knights and friends, but no one quite understands his insecurity as a Stark and a rule the way Sansa does. Their interaction in 7x01 showed us this relationship/friendship between them (the way Sansa immediately knew Jon was doubting himself and sought to reassure him earnestly even when he was being rather rude to her because the thing is she knew he needed it more than she needed his validation).

Another reason why I love this ship so much is Jon’s ferocity when it comes to Sansa. You could absolutely read this as platonic and I’m sure many do, but you can’t deny there’s definitely something visceral and primal in the way Jon strives to protect her. I’ve seen Jon kill and get aggressive, but I’ve never seen him lose control so violently than when he was beating the crap out of Ramsay. It was probably a combination of seeing Ramsay kill Rickon in front of him, but definitely also for Sansa. Then you have 7x02 where Jon chokes Littlefinger, who had been needling him and provoking him all throughout that scene, but it was the comment about loving Sansa in a sexual/romantic manner that really got him angry. The fact is there was no immediate thought to that action; it was absolutely a reactionary thing and again a primal one at that. Jon doesn’t even say anything for awhile and I think for a few seconds he really was considering killing Littlefinger. But then it’s like he comes to himself. Angry murderous kitten Jon is my favourite kind of Jon lol.

There are also a lot of Ned x Catelyn parallels that makes it hard to ignore, as well as 7x02′s parallel to Jaime x Brienne’s awkward wave goodbye. These are 2 of the most established ships in the fandom. Paralleling Jonsa with them feels intentional and important.

But honestly, there really are so many reasons why I love this ship and why I believe in them so wholeheartedly. Maybe it is just Kit and Sophie having unbelievable chemistry, but I like to believe otherwise. I hope this sheds some light for you, Anonny.

anonymous asked:

Who is the man who most loved Selina? I do not think it's Batman, because in the cannon she met Batman first and then Slam Bradley with whom she had a relationship. Then she was with Slam's son (Sam Bradley and had a daughter with her) and on her trip to Rome she kissed a blond boy. Also with a guy in new 52. If she loves Bruce, why was she with them? It must be said that everyone but Slam died, so she did not break up with them to be with Batman. It was because they died. And Slam left her.

I honestly wasn’t going to rant about this.  But I have time, so why not?

I think it’s pretty obvious who I ship Selina with.  And for good reason.  Anon, let’s be real. You don’t think it’s Batman?  And you’re going off the fact of Slam and his son?  How many issues has Slam (and his son) been featured with Selina/Catwoman as opposed to Batman/Bruce Wayne?  Also, when was the last time Slam has even been mentioned in the comics?  If Selina kisses someone that means she loves them?

Seriously anon, the relationship between BatCat has spanned decades.  They are one of the most recognizable DC power couples.  Also, it is worth mentioning the two of them have been married throughout the years and have a daughter (I’m not going deep into detail here).  Also, Batman literally just proposed to Selina.

If Bruce didn’t love Selina and vice versa, why do we have this? (I could go on forever but I chose a select few)

And most importantly…..

BatCat has been on and off many times.  Both of them have had other “love interests”.  But at the end of the day, I think it’s obvious where Bruce’s heart lies. That’s why we have BatCat in Batman Returns, The Dark Knight Rises, Gotham, etc.

GIVE REASONS WHY DO U SHIP TODOMOMO

I HAVE SO MANY REASONS!

First, their dynamic with each other.

Their relationship thus far in canon is mostly centered around Momo, and her feelings of inadequacy compared to Todoroki. She assumed at the start of the series, that they should be around the same level since they both got in via recommendation. But, after the sports festival where she lost in an instant and didn’t even have time to show off her quirk, in contrast to Todoroki who got second, She starts to feel that she is below Todoroki, and in a lot of ways.

In Momo’s mind- Todoroki= Amazing hero, whereas she is average, and not progressing at the impressive rate that recommended students should (in her mind) be.

Her self-esteem is lowered a little more, when he got so many nominations for work place experience, while she barely got any. (this is minor, but I still think important to note, that she is the one shown telling him the number of nominations he got is impressive. I think this is Horikoshi’s way of giving us readers/viewers hints to build up what their relationship will be in the future (which in canon so far is close classmates, but I think it has potential to grow into something romantic when they are older))

She feels that she is falling behind Todoroki, and letting the people around her down by not being as good as she should be. We know of course, that she is an amazing hero, and will continue to grow to be an astounding hero just as good as Todoroki in battles, but she needs to know that herself.

Aizawa recognizes this and put her and Todoroki together in the final exam because he’s counting on Todoroki to help her, because he’s the center of most of Momo’s self-doubts, and Aizawa knows Todoroki is one of the only people that can help her regain some self-esteem. (this is also a showcase of how great of a teacher Aizawa really is, and how his goal is to help ALL his students become amazing heroes)

We know that Todoroki voted for Momo, and he views her as an intelligent and trustworthy person, but he has never expressed it because-and this is just my theory, we don’t know what Todoroki’s thoughts are so can only guess- but he has never expressed his views of her because he assumes she already knows it. Why would someone as smart as her need him to tell her she’s smart when there’s probably a lot of people telling her already?

He notices she looks like she wants to say something about his plan against Aizawa, but it doesn’t register for him that he should have asked her for her opinion until Aizawa points it out to him, because he thought she would have said something. And, let’s be real, Todoroki’s social skills aren’t that great so he might just have not thought about it, that’s an option too lmao.

(this is the only translation I could find to add, and it’s not the official one so some words are mistranslated I’m sure, but I do know what is officially said in this scene and the image is just for visual aid)

Aizawa points out, that Todoroki should have given more thought to talking with Momo, and Todoroki thinks it through and realizes he should have. (It’s one of the strong points of Todoroki’s character, I think, is that he learns from his mistakes and accepts them) When Momo comes back, Todoroki immediately asks her for her plan, and admits that he should have asked for her opinion.

He then admits, one of the biggest things Momo needed to hear, and the words that kicked of this ship: He voted for her as class president, because he thinks she’s good at analyzing and coming up with plans.

That’s huge for Momo to hear! Todoroki, the person that she has been comparing herself to this entire time, considers her to better at this than he is!

This helps Momo overcome her self-esteem issues, once her plan takes down Aizawa and get them to pass the exam.

She needed to hear Todoroki say what a lot of people have said for sure, because he’s the one she’s been comparing herself to! She admires Todoroki a lot, and so this was having one of the people she admires most, tell her that after knowing her for only one day, he thought she was good enough to vote for.

Their dynamic is one of across the board admiration and recognization of strong points and building each other up. The Final Exam was such a big moment for both of these characters, and I see so much potential in their dynamic building further as the series progresses, and for it to become romantic!

I also hope, that in the future we’ll get to see more of Todoroki’s side, because it is mostly from Momo’s perspective so far and I want to see what Todoroki thinks!!

*The first points rather long, so I’ll keep the next couple short because I’m tired lol*

Second, I love their personalities together!

Momo’s enthusiastic but level headed, and Todoroki is serious yet not above everyone else’s shenanigans, and gosh I just love their personalities together so much I can’t describe it! Read any fanfiction and you’ll see how fun their personalities are together!! (seriously if you haven’t go read their fanfics on AO3 there are so many good ones! Or go follow @todomomo-fanfiction for fanfiction links!)

Third, their potential is so intriguing!

Boku No Hero Academia is far from being over and I just can’t wait to see how these two will develop! Even if they don’t get together officially, I do hope we at least see them become friends and interact more as the series progresses!

And that’s all I can think of at the moment! There is a ton of small reasons why I ship them, but these are the 3 main big ones! Hope this answers your question, this was super fun to write! :)

anonymous asked:

Hello love! In light of all the hate I’ve seen towards Karamel, why do you ship them? You are one of the few blogs I know who do love Kara and Mon-el together. For me, their chemistry is undeniable, of course, but with her other relationships (especially with James), I didn’t hate them: I just didn’t care. I was apathetic. With Mon-el, I care, oh boy do I care XD. From the moment they started to interact, you could see that it was something special. Hugs and love!

Hey, love!!!  I feel the exact the same way. I thought (and still think) that Kara and James were kind of cute but, in my humble opinion, they were missing that spark. And it wasn’t solely due to lack of chemistry but also because the writing in Season 1 was not the best in regard to their romance.

But let’s talk about why I ship Karamel because there are so many reasons and I have so many feelings about them, at least 5, sometimes as many as 7 (yes queen Carrie reference). So let’s start:

1. They’re similar enough that they can understand and relate to one another but different enough that they can complement each other and learn from the relationship. Kara and Mon-El are, in fact very different in some aspects and very similar in others. But these are the best relationships. It means you are in sync about the most important issues but at the same time you can bring something new to the table because people evolve by not only sharing the same principles but also by being confronted with different points of view and personalities. Concerning their similarities, Kara and Mon-El are both refugees on Earth. They both know what it is like to lose your home and everything you’ve ever known. That’s a huge part of their identity and something that really strengthens their bond. Being an alien always conjured up feelings of loneliness and even anger in Kara. The fact that they both shared that experience creates a very deep connection between them and a sense of understanding that is hard for others to grasp. I feel like those moments when Kara and Mon-El are reminiscing about their home worlds are really underrated because they must be so special for Kara who has been on Earth for years with no one to share her memories with. Moreover, they’re also similar in the sense that they’re both compassionate and kind people who want to make the world a better place so their ideals pretty much coincide, which is the most important thing in a relationship. Yes, Mon-El is still working on that but that’s who he really is, in spite of the ingrained ideals from Daxam that he is slowly overcoming. And no. Mon-El didn’t magically turn into this kind and compassionate person because of Kara. He has always been that person, he just needed someone to motivate him to become the best version of himself. She didn’t change him, she inspired him. Which leads us to their differences and how they are actually beneficial to their relationship since they allow Kara and Mon-El to challenge each other. Mon-El has become inspired to be more selfless and courageous while Kara is learning to loosen up a little and be more tolerant. So their different personalities really complement each other, even though they do clash at times but, hey, fighting is healthy in a relationship and completely normal and leads people to evolve.

2. The fact that they’re both superpowered. I’ve talked about this before. This is actually a big deal. They don’t have to hold back their strength around each other. They can hold each other as tightly as they want to after a hard day, they don’t need to hold back their passion and they can allow themselves to be a little more vulnerable because when they’re together they don’t need to be so painfully aware of the fact that they are powerful aliens in a different planet. As I’ve said before, sometimes being so powerful can become tiring and even lonely. And this is specially true to Kara. It’s important for her to just take a break from all the responsibility of being so powerful, of being Supergirl. Let her hold someone as tightly as she did when she was on Krypton and make her feel like she has come home and forget the fact that if she were to hold someone else like that she could snap them in half.

3. They’re hilarious. No couple makes me laugh like those two. From their bickering, to their frequent and adorable awkwardness around each other, to Kara’s frustration with Mon-El’s cluelessness…

4. There’s something really innocent and cute about their relationship. Yes. They made out on a couch and were going hard BUT at the same time they’re both completely new to being in a relationship and they’re just figuring it out and it’s so cute to see them going through that process together. They’re just so bubbly and happy and smiley. Our space puppies… And that creates balance in their relationship since they’re both inexperienced and neither of them has the upper hand. And they just fit so well together, you know? I don’t want to use the word “childish” when referring to them but they’re both a little naive, they both have bubbly personalities and enjoy laughing and playing around. Once again, our space puppies.

5. Mon-El contributed to Kara’s arc (I know! Unpopular opinion!!). I’ve also talked about this before. Dealing with Mon-El allowed Kara to acknowledge her own preconceived ideas and prejudices and work on them. She was able to acknowledge and overcome that becoming more tolerant in the process. It also allowed her to explore her frustration for not having been able to help her cousin like she was supposed to and come to terms with that. Also, her arc this season has been about her learning to stand her ground as Kara Danvers and not just as Supergirl. Confessing her feelings for Mon-El and allowing herself to be vulnerable helped her do that.

6. Chris and Melissa’s chemistry. They just kill me. The intense eye contact, the passionate kissing, the natural interactions between them, the way their eyes wander from eyes to lips to whatever lmao I love them.

renaroo  asked:

So your DickBabs commentary is some of the best around, but I was wondering if you might be willing to explain what works about BatCat for you? : )

So, it’s taken me forever to answer this because my life has been ridiculous lately and also I’m terrible sometimes, but! I did not forget about you, dearest of Renas! (To those who don’t know, this post is to celebrate Rena reaching 1000 followers!) So, let’s get down to this:

(Also: Thank you for the compliment on my DickBabs commentary. <3 *hugs*)

So, I think a lot of people spend most of their time talking about why Selina is good for Bruce when they talk about this ship, and there’s definitely a lot to be said there and I’m going to get to that, but I want to start off talking about why I think Bruce is good for Selina, which is a side that I think often gets ignored. (Possibly because Bruce gets such a bad reputation that people can’t believe he could possibly contribute anything positive to a relationship - but that is only true when Bruce is written by terrible writers like Frank Miller, and I firmly ignore that characterization of Bruce.)

So, to get there I’m going to start off talking about this scene, which is one of the most essential Bruce/Selina scenes in my book:

This is from the first issue of Ed Brubaker’s Catwoman run, which I’m sure you already know, but I’m just stating it for the record so that if anyone is reading this post and hasn’t picked up Ed Brubaker’s Catwoman run, consider this my advertisement for it: Go pick up Ed Brubaker’s Catwoman run. You will not be disappointed. (Also… not to beat a dead horse, but… the above scene is the note Ed Brubaker chose to begin his Catwoman run on. Let’s just compare that to how Judd Winick chose to begin his. *moment of silence*)

Anyway, there are a handful of scenes that just define Bruce and Selina to me, that are the first to come to mind when I’m thinking about how I see their dynamic and why I ship them, and this is one of the major ones. Because here’s the thing I think so many people miss: The reason Bruce treats Selina differently than his other antagonists isn’t just because he thinks she looks hot in her costume. It’s because he knows she’s not a villain, at the core of who she is. He thinks she’s a good person, in spite of everything. And that is so, so important.

See, here’s the thing: Selina is someone who’s been underestimated and dismissed for most of her life. She’s been looked down on for her gender, her lower-class background, her history in sex work. And when she has been taken seriously, she’s been perversely appreciated for the bad side of who she is. The few people to really respect her have appreciated her intelligence and skills for how useful she could be to them as a thief. But no one really looked at her and saw her as someone with the potential to be more than a thief. (Not even Holly, although Holly’s relationship with Selina is positive and good for Selina in different ways.) Certainly no one saw her as someone with the potential to be a hero - until Bruce.

And if you’ll forgive me for going into Psychology Major mode for a minute: People will live up or down to expectations. If you’ve been treated all your life as if you can’t be anything but a thief and a troublemaker and someone with purely selfish interests, it’s really hard to believe that you can be anything else. It’s not impossible, and I’d certainly never suggest that Selina never did anything heroic or altruistic until she met Bruce. But it’s hard. Someone believing in you is a really, really powerful thing.

This is something that, for all its faults as a movie, The Dark Knight Rises did get very right about Bruce and Selina’s relationship:

Selina tries to present herself as someone driven purely by selfishness, but Bruce sees through that: “I think there’s more to you than that.” And I think what Selina says in response is so revealing. It’s clearly intended as a denial - saying that if he keeps expecting her to be better, he’ll only keep being let down in response. But it also clearly shows that he’s gotten to her - which is, of course, confirmed by the decisions she makes later in the movie. As much as she wants to pretend it doesn’t, Bruce’s faith in Selina has an effect on her.

The thing is, knowing you’ve let someone down isn’t a pleasant feeling. But it can sometimes be a positive thing. Knowing you’ve let someone down means knowing that they had high expectations for you in the first place. It means someone saw you as capable of making the right decisions, and that’s actually much healthier than knowing you didn’t let anyone down because they never expected anything better of you to begin with.

Bruce is good for Selina because he looks at her and says “I believe that deep down, you’re really a good person.“ Because he looks at her and says ”There’s more to you than that.” And that’s something Selina hasn’t had a lot of in her life, maybe something she’s never had until Bruce comes along. He sees past her bad side and sees her potential to be something better. And instead of letting her off the hook, he challenges her to be the person he knows she’s capable of being. He has faith in her. He believes she can be a hero, and eventually that leads to Selina believing it, too.

(But it’s so, so important to note that Selina doesn’t start acting more heroic for Bruce. She’s not doing it because he wanted it or to make him happy. She does it because it’s right for her. At her heart, Selina is a hero - all Bruce did is see the heroic qualities that were in her all along.)

The second reason I ship them so hard together is: They help each other have fun.

(The comic this panel is from - Catwoman #32 - is basically my all-time Bruce/Selina issue ever, and you’ll definitely be seeing more scans from it in this post.)

Bruce is the one who needs more help in this area, obviously, like he says here. It’s no secret that Bruce is serious and withdrawn even with the people he loves most, and has a tendency to focus on The Mission above everyone else. So it’s a huge deal that he’s playful and mischievous and flirtatious with Selina, because not many people get to see that side of him. And no one brings it out in exactly the way that Selina does. He lets himself relax around her in a way which is really good for him:

(See? I told you we weren’t done with that issue! I love this scene because you so rarely see Bruce - or Selina, for that matter - being so completely relaxed and happy and normal.)

But I think it’s worth noting that Selina always looks like she’s having just as much fun as Bruce is, and I think that’s really good for her, too. I think people tend to forget that as much as Selina is by nature a more playful and flirtatious person than Bruce, she isn’t really a much happier one. She’s had a really hard and lonely life over the years, and that’s why it’s so great to see how genuinely happy she seems with Bruce:

I always love how huge Selina’s smile is in the first panel of this sequence (drawn by the always awesome Cameron Stewart). She’s just having so much fun, and I think that’s really just as good for her as it is for Bruce.

Even when they’re fighting, it’s very often play-fighting more than anything else:

(This scene, which is from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, can be watched here. And it is awesome.)

Look at those smiles. Bruce and Selina just bring out the fun side in each other, and I really love that. You’d never see Bruce smiling like that if he was fighting, say, the Joker. (For good reason.)

This is something Gotham has also gotten very right in their depiction of baby!Bruce and Selina:

SO. FREAKING. CUTE.

AHEM. *is mature*

(By the way: Do you remember a while back when I sent you a message that was basically like “RENA RENA RENA YOU HAVE TO GO WATCH GOTHAM NOW”? It was right after this episode aired.)

I find this scene particularly poignant because this is not long after Bruce’s parents have died, and it’s the first time you really see him having fun, smiling and laughing like that. Frankly, it’s the first time in the show that you see Bruce or Selina acting like normal children. (Even Alfred notices and is forced to approve of Selina!) And even as adults, I think they still bring out that lighthearted side in each other:

Although as this scene shows, what Bruce and Selina consider “fun” might not be what most people consider fun, which bring me to my next point: They just get each other, on a very fundamental level. Partly that’s because they’re very alike, and partly because they’ve come to understand each other over the years. There’s this scene I really wish I could have found - I tried, believe me - where (if I’m remembering correctly) Selina is sneaking into Gotham during the No Man’s Land era, and Bruce knows exactly how she’ll do it - because it’s the same way he would. Bruce and Selina are also very different from each other in certain ways, obviously, but a lot of the time they’re just very in sync like that:

Despite their differences, Bruce and Selina have a lot in common. They’re both highly intelligent and skilled, they’ve both known a lot of tragedy in their lives, they’re both far lonelier than they care to admit. They’re both hesitant to trust people. They both follow a unique moral code that others don’t always understand - though those moral codes are not exactly the same. They’re both highly independent and can be too stubborn for their own good. At their heart, they’re both driven by a very real desire to help other people. And I think they’re similar in a more indefinable way, too. They’re just cut from the same cloth, somehow. They understand each other both instinctively and also, as the years go by, because of the true friendship they’ve formed:

I think that’s something that’s so often overlooked with Bruce and Selina: People look at them and only see the Cat-and-Bat game, the “lovers on opposite sides!” trope, and they overlook the fact that Bruce and Selina are genuinely friends. More than that, despite all the odds, they’ve come to really trust each other over the years. Even though they still disagree over plenty of things, they know they can always turn to each other in a time of need:

I think nothing says more about how much Bruce trusts Selina than the fact that he willingly told her his secret identity - something that I’m not only pretty sure was unheard of for Bruce to do, it’s pretty dang unheard of in the superhero world in general. For a point of comparison, Clark didn’t tell Lois his secret identity until after they were engaged, and whether you think that’s good writing of Clark or not (I don’t, necessarily), it still says something about what a big deal it was for Bruce to trust Selina that way. In the superhero world, telling someone your secret identity is basically the biggest statement of trust you can make.

Bruce telling Selina his secret identity (though I firmly headcanon that she’d figured it out anyway) is a huge statement - and, as he basically says himself here, tantamount to an admission that he wants a real relationship with her. For Bruce to willingly make that leap is huge.

Because of that trust, you see Bruce and Selina really open up to each other in a way that they really don’t with most people, especially other love interests. They’re willing to let themselves be vulnerable and emotionally open. And Bruce is actually vocal about his feelings in a way that you practically never see:

Now, obviously Heart of Hush as a storyline is not without its problematic elements, but I still love this scene. Because Bruce pouring his heart out like that? Bruce basically never does that. Getting an “I love you” out of Bruce is a big deal already, but an entire speech? That says a lot, again, about how much he’s willing to open up to Selina. (Granted, she was pretending to be asleep… but let’s be honest: he most likely knew she was pretending.)

I think it’s also significant that pretty much any time either of them dreams about settling down, or there’s an alternate universe where they do, it shows them ending up married to each other:

I think for both Bruce and Selina, when they imagine living a normal life, they think about having a normal relationship with each other, ending up married. But they think that because they’re not “normal”, they can’t have that - which is a theme going back to the earliest days of their relationship:

(This scene is from Batman #3, which also happens to be the issue where Selina kissed Bruce for the first time.)

Bruce and Selina will never be “just another boy and girl”, and I think they both assume that means they can never have anything resembling an actual committed relationship. The fact that they were starting to take steps in that direction before the reboot was a huge deal for both of them. But I think it’s going to take a lot of character growth for both of them before they realize that they can have an actual relationship without either of them compromising who they are.

One more reason to ship them: Bruce moons over Selina like a little schoolboy. Enough said. ;-)

CONTROL YOUR FACE, BRUCE. You are supposed to be the terrifying personification of justice and the night and you’re acting like an absolute goober.

(And it’s amazing.)

Oh, and Dick approves:

Dick approves so much that Dick is actually the one who encouraged Bruce to tell Selina his secret identity, which, again: Huge frickin’ deal.

It’s not just a “Ha ha, Dick ships it” thing, either. Dick knows Bruce better than pretty much anyone. So the fact that Dick looks at Bruce’s relationship with Selina and says “Yeah, this relationship is good for you”? That says a lot. Because Dick knows what he’s talking about when it comes to Bruce.

Also, they have almost 75 years of history, which is pretty dang cool:

I’m a sucker for history. And theirs is a 75-year-long multimedia history spanning comics, cartoons, live-action TV, movies, and videogames, which just makes it even more amazing.

In conclusion: Have some of my miscellaneous favorite Bat/Cat scenes that I couldn’t find a way to include in this post.

(This is another scene that speaks to how well Selina understands Bruce… and also brings up a very important point about Bruce’s nature that far too many Batman adaptations forget.)

(I did warn you there’d be a lot of scenes from this issue.)

And last but not least:

Yeah. That seems a good note to end this post on.

Hope you enjoyed, sweetheart! (And same goes to anyone else reading this, too!)

Shows I watch and my opinions on ships:

( Shadowhunters, Arrow, The Flash, Girl Meets World (rip), Riverdale, and The Fosters )

Shadowhunters; SAPHAEL IS MY LIFE AND I LITERALLY MADE A TUMBLR DEDICATED TO IT. Honestly, I don’t see how you CAN’T SHIP THEM. BUT DOES ANYONE HAVE THE PROBLEM OF GOING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN SAIA (simon and maia) AND SAPHAEL CAUSE I DO. But like have we even seen a bit of sizzy AT ALL?? LIKE MAYBE A COUPLE OF SECONDS OF IT. And yeah yeah, I know sizzy is gonna come at some point and start building up but let’s just all appreciate the time we have left. CAN I TALK ABOUT MY NOTP THOUGH? CLIMON. THE STUPIDEST SHIT I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. CLARY DOESN’T LIKE SIMON LIKE THAT AND I THINK EVERYONE KNOWS THAT, IT’S JUST SHE CAN’T HAVE JACE SO SHE’S LOOKING FOR AN EASY BOYFRIEND. LIKE SHE NEVER LIKED HIM LIKE THAT. AND ONCE SHE FIGURES OUT JACE ISN’T HER BROTHER BYE BYE SIMON. ONE OF THE MANY REASONS WHY I HATE HER.

Arrow; olicity is the cutest thing in the world and I totally ship them. But honestly for a long time I shipped Felicity and Ray. Like I love Ray and he’s such a sweetheart so I was like hey why not. They were pretty cute. Lyla and John are also really cute but for the longest time I hated Lyla because she was a bitch when she was working with Amanda Waller (rip), but now she’s okay. ROY AND THEA OTP OTP OTP OTP LIKE DON’T EVEN TRY ME. IM ONLY ON SEASON 4 SO DON’T SPOIL ANYTHING DJFDU

The Flash; WESTALLEN 200000% hottest ship out there. Such a power couple. BUT MY OTP IS CAITLIN AND JULIAN LIKE THEY NEED A FUCKING SHIP NAME. Also Wally and Jesse are the cutest ship of all time like goals goals goals.

Girl Meets World (rip); You see, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do this show, but lucaya will forever be one of my favorite ships of all time so I had to. Like does anyone even ship rucas?? THE ONLY REASON RILEY EVEN HAS LUCAS IS BECAUSE MAYA PUSHED HIM AWAY AFTER HE WAS GOING TO FUCKING CHOOSE HER. AND WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS JOSHAYA CRAP LIKE WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?1?1?1

Riverdale; VERONICA AND ARCHIE ARE THE HOTTEST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET SO IF YOU PUT THEM TOGETHER IT WOULD MAKE SUCH A FUCKING POWER COUPLE. Don’t kill me but I don’t really ship bughead.. I feel like it literally came out of no where. Like where is the build up?? The thing with riverdale is that they have like 0 build up to their relationships. Except for Valerie and Archie, they had a build up, but like yeah they hinted that Jughead liked Betty, BUT WHERE THE FUCK DID IT EVER HINT THAT BETTY MIGHT LIKE JUGHEAD? SHES TOO STUCK ON ARCHIE AND I BET 2 MILLION DOLLARS THAT SHE’S NOT OVER HIM AND IF HE ASKED HER OUT SHE WOULD SAY YES.

The Fosters; BRANDON AND CALLIE ALL THE FUCKING WAY. LIKE THAT IS SUCH A STRONG SHIP AND I DONT CARE IF THEY ARE BASICALLY SIBLINGS, NOT BY BLOOD THEY AREN’T. AND YES IT IS SORT OF WEIRD I GUESS BUT FUCK THE WRITERS FOR MAKING ME SHIP THEM BECAUSE MY OTP IS BASICALLY INCEST.

If you reached the end you are a champ because you just read a good page of me ranting :))

I think my thing with age gap is that, if the two people had a close relationship when one of them was a kid and the other one wasn't....I struggle with that. Just the idea of Kakshi watching her slowly grow into a woman and then one day realizing he is attracted to her after a certain point, I cannot. I'm convinced a part of him would always see her as a child to him. If it's AU where they meet as adults I don't mind though. Their hair color compliments somehow...

You know, it’s totally ok that it squicks you! It’s completely alright if you want to say “I only like KakaSaku in AUs where they meet as adults” (or in AUs where they’re the same age).

Personally, I actually like the appeal of “whoa I thought our relationship was X but now suddenly I want it to be Y” in ships, that’s a major theme in my OTPs across many fandoms. For one thing, that’s built-in drama. Person A wants the relationship to change, but Person B isn’t sure, and then Person B suddenly realizes it but Person A has gone away, Person B you must chase Person A down! EXCITEMENT. Also: external opposition? Taboo?? I MUST HIDE MY FEELINGS AND PINE SECRETLY FOR LO, MY LOVE CAN NEVER BE??? 😍😍😍

Specifically with Kakashi and Sakura, a big reason why I ship them is that while genin Sakura certainly does intend to respect and obey him and view him as an authority figure (because she’s a Good Girl), right from the get-go she doesn’t really. Inner Sakura (her true feelings) laughs at Naruto’s prank, and she’s appalled at his lateness and trolling. The entire time she’s a genin, I’m convinced that Kakashi never truly registered her potential. The most frequently cited example of this, because it really is appalling, is when Sakura mastered tree walking the first try–#1, Kakashi merely uses her accomplishment to ridicule and shame the boys, turning them against Sakura (teamwork, Kakashi??? hello???); #2, her “reward” is to sit on the bridge with Tazuna while Kakashi trains the boys without her. Nice. And during the time skip, it’s fairly obvious that Kakashi and Sakura didn’t interact–otherwise Kakashi wouldn’t have been so completely gobsmacked at her unleashing the Fifth’s strength. He wasn’t merely surprised, he was stunned.

The inference that he thought Sakura completely incapable of learning Tsunade’s techniques so fast is inescapable. He knew she was training with Tsunade, so Sakura using Tsunade’s technique shouldn’t have shocked him so much, right? Yet it did. Because he completely discounted Sakura’s ability.

That’s slow to change as well. Even though Sakura’s fight against Sasori was far more successful than Kakashi and Naruto’s against Itachi and Deidara, even though Sakura is spending every moment of her free time researching and begs him in the hospital to help find a way to improve, does Kakashi bother to come up with a training regimen for Sakura? Nope. He and Yamato train Naruto alone, and they get Asuma involved as well.

Now, to a huge extent, to me, this is just a symptom of what should have been an overarching problem in the series: short-term thinking. It is completely natural that short-term thinking would be ubiquitous in a society undergoing constant warfare and violence. But short-term thinking causes problems, and when those problems are attacked with more short-term thinking, things can turn to shit so fucking quickly. Each of Kakashi’s decisions to prioritize Naruto and Sasuke so exclusively make sense through a short-term focus. His decision to teach Sasuke the chidori to fight Gaara makes sense through a short-term focus. It’s only when you step back and look at the pattern that you realize how fucked up these decisions are.

So when does Kakashi start to realize how wrong he’s been? In my opinion, it all comes home to him during the Five Kage Conference and his fight with Sasuke–a fight that prominently features the chidori that Kakashi is responsible for choosing to teach Sasuke. Kakashi says right out in this arc that he was a bad teacher. He is correct.

It’s the Fourth War when I see him really changing his view towards Sakura, and realizing just how much this wonderful, amazing, strong kunoichi isn’t the Sakura he thought he knew. But there’s a snag. She’s still all hung up on the guy  who literally everybody treated as more important than her safety from day one! Oops!

And we haven’t even gotten into all the things that Sakura doesn’t know about Kakashi! So yeah the stage is set for amazing things, potentially, but this is Naruto so we don’t get nice things. But who cares, really? I mean, fuck, I ship all the canon ships except SS, so just take it from me: you do not want your Naruto ship to be canon. My God! You want Kishimoto writing your OTP?! You want Studio Pierrot writing it?!?! I ship NaruHina and I’ll never be the same. Don’t do that to them. Keep them in fandom, where they’re safe from the shitstorm that is the rest of post-699 Naruto.

*coughs* I seem to have run off the rails, anon, sorry about that. Onto your last point.

I am convinced that a not insignficant portion of Sakura’s shippability is her colour scheme. You wouldn’t think pink hair and green eyes would blend so well, but for some reason it really does? She just looks good with everyone!

anonymous asked:

i just really wanna know why do you hate cc ? bc if she is hella problematic i want nothing to do with her

my buddy my pal, how much time do you have?? because there is a lot of reasons….

- first of all she plagiarised her entire series from several other sources
- she has an incest fetish and actively tries to romanticise it in her books
- there’s also an attempted rape in the book that was romanticised by not only her but also book stans
- girl on girl hate everywhere
- she slutslamed show!izzy on numerous occasions
- genuinely shits on the show, even said she regretted signing the rights to it over but then tries to take credit when the show gets recognised (e.g. she recently tried to take credit for shadowhunters getting nominated for a glaad award)
- she cashes in on malec every chance she gets and claims she adores them yet shipped them off on vacation for an entire book, wrote zero communication between them, wrote alec as biphobic, planned on killing alec off in the first book, etc etc.
- doesn’t care for her lgbt characters - another example of this is that she sent aline and helen off to some island so she didn’t have to write about them
- another example is the immortality thing between magnus and alec in the books. she didn’t fix things between them but had no problem sorting the immortality issue out for izzy and simon.
- oh and izzy, alec, magnus and luke may as well of been non existent in the books because there was literally no character development for them
- she also makes it clear that she doesn’t consider Isaiah to be part of the main cast or luke to be a main character
- if someone even disagrees with something she does or questions it in the slightest, she lets her stans bully them. (there’s a whole post somewhere about how serious this got but idk where it is, sorry)
- again a huge love for incest, she legit wrote a fanfic? idk about Ginny and Ron from Harry Potter like tf? and also said she ships Damon and Stefan from the vampire diaries when they’re literally brothers yikes

there’s so many other reasons as to why I dislike her but these are ones I could think of off the top of my head. I’m sure if you look through the anti cc tag you’ll see a bunch more reasons, hope this helped :)

Unlikely pair-ups, bromances & couples we ship... #5

I highly doubt this is “unlikely”, but since this is the title for this particular series of posts, I figured I may as well stick with it… Anyway, the reason why I say that this pairing/ship is not as unlikely as it would be appear is because it has served as the source material for many a very sweet/cute/racy doujinshi at this point, and with good reason!

There’s nothing like finding good animes to watch and for me, some of the best and most engaging ones are those that involve sports! So of course Diamond no Ace caught my interest and that’s where I (and many others) found a wide variety of ships to take note of. For me though, it’s the pairing of Sawamura Eijun and Miyuki Kazuya that had me watching for every moment of interaction between the two.

The reason why I like them together is because Miyuki turns out to be the reason why Sawamura decides to take the leap and go to Seidou, even though he had been rather hesitant at first. Through their brief interaction together as a battery, it’s like love at first pitch/catch for them as players because each of them is enthralled by the prospect of playing baseball with each other. And even though there are other guys that join the team and the focus moves away from the Sawamura/Miyuki battery from time to time, it doesn’t stop the two of them interfering with each other here and there. Even though they can’t always be together in a battery, those times when they do play together is like an added bonus!

They’re both outspoken and driven and Miyuki always has fun teasing Sawamura and Sawamura always treats Miyuki more like an equal than a senpai and it’s that sort of natural interaction between them that makes them so appealing as a ship for me. And so this marks the start of some upcoming picture posts (because it would be insane to put every picture here) that highlight the cute/sweet/funny/touching moments between one of my favourite sports ships, Sawamura and Miyuki! Enjoy!

My first thought on this is to tell you not to worry too much about Yatori and the possibility of Yato ending up tragically alone forever. From what I’ve seen of Adachitoka’s writing, if Noragami ever returns shit no one heard me say that whoever is doing the writing (I think it’s Adachi?) has a clear sense of narrative purpose and a keen understanding not only of relationships but also what events will ultimately tell the best story with their characters. Honestly, in terms of the plot events of Noragami, the growth of the characters, balance of romantic comedy with action, and the sheer amount of emotional baggage they’re able to parse through, I would not be worried about Yato’s fate. Whoever he ends up—or whatever happens by the end of the manga if we ever get there—will definitely be what is best for Yato. Adachitoka love their character, you can tell. They won’t leave him with a bad end. Even if the ending of the manga doesn’t involve Yato and Hiyori ending up together, happily ever after thanks to their tied plaques, whatever ending we do get, however sad, will be well-written and emotionally fulfilling. I definitely believe in that—have faith in the authors that the end-game they have planned is going to be the best one for Yato!

The rest is under a read more.

If kaisoo is real and sm is just trying to hide t then why is it that they paired Kaisoo in the eve dance? Why does kai feed kyungsoo in pepero commercials? They've been paired together for commercials several times before. Also, why does SM let them walk together and talk on stage? Aren't you and all other kaisoo shippers being delusional and using SM as an excuse that they don't have many interactions? They're no different from chanbaek. They're just fanservice. Fake.

hello anon. Okay so first of all thank you for being aware of all the kaisoo interactions despise the fact that you’re not a shipper. Tbh idk where to start with your ask because there’s tooooo much about kaisoo for me to begin with. Anyway I will just answer what you asked in order. About the dance, it’s the choreographer who positioned exo for the dance, sm has nothing to do with this. SM is in charge of exo and all the promotion/production/choosing songs and so on but it’s not their decision to choose who dances with whom because it’s not their job but the choreographer’s since he’s expertised in this and knows who matched with whom rather than sm themselves. Why ji fed ksoo in pepero commercials? Simply it’s because the director told them to do so??? why u asked? I mean for commercial production, the marketing team has to find ways to sell their products no? and when it comes to exo not just their name themselves are big and popular but the ships are as well. It’s a thing for kpop, ships, otps and so on so being with kaisoo, one of the most long lasting ship in exo with many fans follow the ship, of course the marketing team would team them up to make fans to notice more and get more of the products. they’re not dumb enough to take out this advantage to get more consumers, same with nature republic, they’re using baekyeol and kaisoo because they know about these ships, everyone who are exols know about these ships, they are inevitable. And why did sm let kaisoo walk together on stage and talk on stage? think about it, if you’re in the same group with another person and u dont talk to that person, what would others think of both of yall? either yall are trying to hide something or yall hate each other or not getting along it would be hella weird and shady. sm can’t just make someone not talk to his own groupmate because that’s bs and they can’t just tell the manager to be next to them 24/7 and be like “yo ji/ksoo, stop talking to each other” even when they’re on stage. that’d be weird af. Also another reason why sm cant do that because it’s normal for everyone to talk to each other and they know their place, not like theyre talking to each other alone 24/7, they also interact with other mems as well so why should sm stop them completely???! The reason why we shippers said that sm trying to stop them because theres too much evidence of kaisoo being a thing, too much to avoid so they need to separate kaisoo as much as they can whenever there are cameras in front of them. homosexual isn’t really an acceptable thing in south kor, there are many homo couples but doesn’t mean they are accepted by the society, especially korean celebs. I remember some rumors about 9493room ,aka one of kaisoo fansite, leaving because others were mean and made fun of her/him for shipping kaisoo but that was yrs ago and i hope it was just rumor. but being said it shows that homo otps aren’t really accepted yet if u ship them srsly and sm prob doesn’t want that to happen to their artist, their precious babies who make them balling with money because that’s all they care about…and for u saying that those are fanservices, if u see their interactions, it’s always offstage or whereas other members are talking. Because others are talking they would thikn oh the fans will give their attentions to that mem not them so they can just talk to each other or so, and if it’s offstage then who are they doing fanservice to? the staff? also anon, shipping someone or not is our choice and our opinion, i also respect your opinion and choice but calling us delusional and the ships being fake are a little bit too much. You don’t ship them, i’m completely fine with it because i know there are others kaisoo shippers who support them wholehearted like like i do. But please don’t come and attack us like that just because u dont see the sparks in their eyes when they look at each other, or the attention that they give each other that was beyond anything compared to the attention they give other members. We dont use sm as an excuse because we know that there’s no way ji would be away from ksoo with his own will, if u see other fancam or so, the way he looks at ksoo or vice versa. Also for the past fanmeet or so, all the members sat in their normal order when they’re together, yet only kaisoo’s seats were switched and the only one that could have done this is the ppl behind the scene and who would that be? of course sm. One last note for you, please don’t touch baekyeol/chanbaek either because the shippers did nothing wrong just because they ship those two. Thank you for asking this so i can prove to others that i’m not just a whatever shipper but my belief about this ship is pretty strong, as strong as exo’s love for exols. thank u and have a nice day!

SasuSaku Rant

Lately, I’ve been thinking. I’ve been trying to understand why I feel as though SasuSaku doesn’t work for me. And I think I’ve found the answer. The answer to why I hate SasuSaku.

Normally, I’d just name the surface problems. SasuSaku is abusive. Both parties, Sasuke and Sakura, have tried to kill each other one too many times. That’s a good enough reason to dislike/hate a ship. But, here’s the thing. SasuSaku is not only physically abusive, but also emotionally abusive. And that is where I cross the line. Ships that are emotionally abusive like SasuSaku, AiHina (Aizen x Hinamori), and SangBum (Sangwoo x Yoon Bum), are absolutely horrible.

Both parties are guilty, with Sakura being the most guilty out of the two of them. I love Sakura as a character, but SasuSaku brings out the absolute worst of her. She’s a completely different person, and I find myself not being able to stand how she acts around Sasuke sometimes.

She’s selfish, emotionally manipulative, and so submissive it honestly hurts. The only time I could find myself shipping SasuSaku is this page

Only this. No other page.

Now, you might ask why I call Sakura emotionally manipulative and selfish, right? Well, let’s look at part 1 first.

This is what we call selfishness. Think about it. Who is important to Sakura? Her parents, Ino, Naruto, Kakashi, Lee… She offers to leave all of them to come with Sasuke? This is the epitome of hypocrisy. Sakura cries and begs Sasuke to stay. But what if he did take her with him? Would she even consider how the others felt when they saw her missing? If she doesn’t care about their feelings, why should Sasuke care about hers?

Once again, what about the people I just mentioned, Sakura? Kizashi and Mebuki seem like nice people… Ino is your best friend, you mean the world to Naruto and Lee, and Kakashi values you as a student.

And have you noticed the amount of “I”? Sakura only talks about herself during this scene. How it affects her, what she would do if Sasuke left, how she would feel. And then when all else fails, she pulls out the “I love you!” card as a last resort.

This is the emotionally manipulative part of her behavior. Her reasoning is that if she blurts out her feelings, he will feel guilty and stay. Her reasoning is wrong. It’s sad, really.

Oh, by the way, this

Is not a SasuSaku moment. It isn’t that Sasuke doesn’t mind her hugging, not at all. He fucking woke up from a coma from a brutal genjutsu from an S-rank Ninja. He’s mentally disoriented. Context is very important, people. Onto Part 2.

You know, SasuSaku shippers have no right to bash Karin. After all, if it weren’t for her, your ship would have been sunk. Actually, speaking of Karin, I wanted to adress something.

I ship SasuKarin because compared to Sakura, I feel as though Karin better for Sasuke. She has a good reason to love him, because he saved her life, and then there’s this scene

Anyways, the last major scene between Sasuke and Sakura is

Oh…

It’s just like the first confession. Except this time, she doesn’t offer to betray her loved ones to get close to Sasuke. Even Naruto and Kakashi acknowledge the utter pitfulness of this whole scene. Once again, she makes it about her. I counted. There’s a total of 8 “I”s there.

And look at all these “moments”. Where Sasuke is completely apathetic towards Sakura’s life, feelings, and general being. Why is this popular, again? By the way, someone really said the top right panel was a SasuSaku moment, I’m not joking.

Forgive me. This post was a clusterfuck. Very unorganized. But in return I try and give the cold hard facts. My conclusion? SasuSaku is the worst popular Naruto ship, beating NaruHina, believe it or not. It brings out the worst in Sakura, and Sasuke is more of a dick than usual. Genin!SasuSaku I can kind of understand, but after that, no.
