one of the best albums ever made

types of panic fans

the casual fan: listens to panic for fun sometimes if they feel like it. only knows songs from doab and the singles from the other albums

the ryan stan: br*nd*n ur*e killed their crops and burned their village. worships afycso and the rose vest. willing to fight the urie man for even having the thought of playing songs that ryan wrote live. has or plans to get at least one tattoo of his lyrics. lives for those edits where its his livejournal entries. their life mission is to get ryan the credit he deserves. also has a ryan ross hands kink

the brendon stan: brendon urie has done nothing wrong ever. he is the nicest, kindest, most beautiful human being to ever exist. lives for his high notes. would die for him. worships sarah. did i mention how beautiful brendon urie is and how proud i am of him can u believe he made doab all by himself wow

the ryden truther: ryden was 708% real. has read every ryden theory masterpost. has probably written at least one ryden theory post. every song is about ryan ross if you try hard enough. pretty odd is the best panic album. cries at every minor ryan/brendon interaction. everything that brendon does somehow relates back to the fact that he’s still bitter and sad about ryan. quotes throam almost daily. is rereading throam right now

the dallon stan: vices and virtues is a masterpiece. probably ships brallon. tags every picture of dallon with a keysmash. screams a lot. would kill to see a brobecks show. really only goes to panic shows to see dallon. strives to reach dallon’s level of dadness. here for dallon’s idkhbtfm project. is just here to have a good time

the “emo trinity” fan: obsessively listens to fall out boy and my chemical romance along with panic. probably also likes twenty one pilots, halsey, and/or melanie martinez. they like panic just as much as the other bands in the “trinity”. wants panic to tour with fob/21p. probably ships peterick/joshler/frerard

This is not canon. This is purely for crack-y fun.

(Crack mixes are going on this blog where they belong)

Okay, so an asker over on @thebrightsessions official tumblr knows that I will make basically any mix if prompted, so I made a Damien-and-Mark-Bro-Out-On-A-Road-Trip Mix. I have no so many regrets.

Track listing, with commentary by yours truly:

  1. You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi (the natural choice to start out any respectable road trip mix)
  2. Tom Sawyer - Rush
  3. Back to Black - ACDC (obviously)
  4. Island - The Starting Line (pop punk is the next step after 80s classics IMO)
  5. The Great Escape - Boys Like Girls (do you guys remember this band??? whatever happened to them? this album is great)
  6. Waking Up in Vegas - Katy Perry
  7. Run Away With Me - Carly Rae Jepsen (okay, someone on tumblr posted about how Damien would love Emotion and I can’t find the post anywhere but it has been HAUNTING ME because Emotion is absolutely an album that Damien would secretly love and I can’t believe I was called out like that. Also, Emotion is the best pop album in years, maybe ever.)
  8. Shut Up and Let Me Go - The Ting Tings (the ultimate dancing while driving song)
  9. Never Forget You - Noisettes
  10. Man! I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain (this is canon, don’t @ me)
  11. Ready to Run - The Dixie Chicks (duh!)
  12. Ride - Far Places (this whole playlist is a mix of silly things and great songs but they are all from actual road trip mixes I’ve made. This one is the newest addition - it is by Evan Cunningham’s band Far Places. Evan composes all the music for @thebrightsessions and is really awesome and you guys should buy his music)

Honorable mention: “Hold On” by Wilson Philips, which is the only song you ever need on the road but is too near and dear to my heart to put on this ridiculous thing.

(I’m so sorry)

Happy Hiatus!

Summary: You’ve been friends with Jack since you were kids, and he’s always supported every single one of your dreams. When you win a Grammy, he makes the night even more memorable when he proposes to you at the afterparty.

Dedicated too: The anon who requested this; I apologise about getting a little too caught up in writing this but I honestly loved the concept and included Conor quite alot (it felt appropriate)xo

When you were six, you entered a dance competition at your school and came last. When you were nine, you ran a half marathon and dropped out mid-way through. When you were twelve, you took part in a drawing competition, and came fourth.

By that point, you were so done with competing in subjects in which you had absolutely no talent. If it wasn’t for your bestfriend, Jack Maynard, and his older brother Conor, you would’ve given up and never entered another contest again. But when you were sixteen, and your school was holding yet another talent show, they encouraged you to enter; and were adamant that you did the one thing they knew you excelled at. They wanted you to sing.

That night was the first night you ever sang infront of anyone but your family and the Maynards’, and it was exhilarating. Your stage presence was electrifying and the feeling that ran through your blood made you feel something you’d never felt before.

That was when you knew what you were destined to do. You entered tons of competitions and just two years later you were picked out by a management team and offered a once in a life time record deal. At first you’d hesitated; it was a huge deal and wasn’t a decision that a nineteen year old could make alone. And so you found comfort in the one person who’s opinion you truly valued with everything you had.

Yourself and Jack spent hours sat in the old treehouse, duvets thrown over you and fairy lights illuminating the space - the vibe simply too magical to recreate. You talked and talked for hours, about the pros and the cons and the changes that would come. By the end of the night, your decision had been made, and even Conor, who’d released his debut single a year earlier and peaked on the UK charts - was ecstatic when you told him.

It was then that you knew you’d made the right decision. You called up the number of the management company, and accepted their offer - and your life took off. Before you knew it you were in the studio, recording songs and releasing singles and albums and everything you’d ever dreamed of. You collaborated with Conor on a song which reached number one in the charts, you toured with Jack by your side, and he managed to vlog the entire thing.

Your best friends Youtube channel was taking off, he was making so many friends who were all apart of the same thing that he was, and you were so caught up in your responsibilities that you would’ve imagined that the two would’ve parted ways. But you never did. You stuck by his side through thick and thin, and he supported your every decision. He was still your bestfriend; but after spending so much time together and being mistaken as a couple in several magazines and news articles, the two of you began to consider that maybe, you were destined to become more than just that.

You fell in love under the sun, whilst taking a stroll across a beach in California with his oversized hoodie drowning your petite figure and your hand connected between you. You’d managed to not be noticed yet, all thanks to Jack, and that was the day you realised that you didn’t just want to be bestfriends anymore. And so you made a split second decision, and wrapped your arms around this neck - pulling him down and brushing your soft lips against his slightly chapped ones.

This year was the year of The Grammy’s. You’d been nominated for six awards and were so humbly grateful for that. You invited the whole buttercream squad, who thanked you over and over and promised to be on their best behaviour. You rolled your eyes, and hugged them all, which was almost a foreign feeling seeing as none of them were screaming or fingerling over you like the majority of your fans did. These guys were your friends, and they knew who you were beneath the fame and the music, and you’d always treasure that.

The guys all gathered in your hotel room after you’d argued your way out of having your own makeup artist and lady who dressed you. You didn’t need that, you were a human being who could dress herself; and you had Zoe, who always managed to create the most stunning makeup looks on you. You had all of the boys to help you get dressed and make sure you had no one strand of hair out of place, you had Josh, who was tall enough to make sure your cleavage didn’t look wonky in your dress.

They were everything you could’ve needed.

The whole three hours of prepping was spent laughing, and the nerves that’d been building in the pit of your stomach completely diminished. By the time you got the call that your car was ready downstairs, you were ready to leave and were simply waiting on the boys, who were performing last minute checks on their hair. You and Zoe were smirking to eachother as you heard them arguing over who got to use the mirror, but eventually they all started to emerge from the bathroom - each in a different style of suit which implemented them perfectly.

You immediately looked toward the Maynard brothers, who were staring at you with tears in their eyes. You frowned and pursed your lips, pushing back the tears as you pulled them both into a group hug, whispering ‘thank you’ over and over again. Every single one of your friends meant the world to you, but the brothers had been there for you since the very beginning - and they were the reason that you were where you were.

That evening, your whole group broke every rule in the book and walked the red carpet as a group, your hand tightly in Jack’s as she smile at all of the cameras and do silly poses together. You made sure your whole group got atleast twenty photographs together before leading them off of the carpet and into the venue. Your eyes were wide in awe and the chandeliers simply took your breath away.

You were seated with all of your friends, Jack and Conor on both of your sides with their hands entwined with yours. You spent the evening cheering for your fellow friends in the industry and screaming in excitement whenever one of your favourite artists won an award. When it finally came to the categories that you’d been nominated for, you stopped breathing for a moment, and almost fainted when you heard your name being shouted through the microphone in excitement.

Your eyes widen and your heart speeds up, but after a few seconds everyone stood up and began to cheer for you, and offered you the confidence you needed to stand up and pick up your dress; beginning the walk toward the stage. A few tears of emotion were running down your cheeks by the time you took the trophy from the presenter and hugged him tightly. You approached the podium, and smiled at the extremely large crowd of hugely powerful artists, such as Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

You smile and wipe your tears, laughing a little into the mic when people begin to sit down and hush, patiently awaiting your speech. “I- I honestly wasn’t prepared for this.” She takes a deep breath and composes herself silently. “I wrote a there page speech two days ago in the middle of the night because I couldn’t sleep. But, if I’m honest, I thanked way too many people who really didn’t alter my path into this industry.” A few people laugh, and she smiled and glances down at the award in her hands. “There are two boys who I wouldn’t be here today without. They stuck by me when I came last in every competition until they finally convinced me to sing. And I came first, and that started my journey.” She pulls her lips between her teeth and inhales softly. “This is for you. For Conor, who proved to be a better brother to me than my actual brother ever was. You encouraged me to follow my dream and together we made a beautiful child,” she winks playfully, obviously referring to their song. “And Jack, god, I don’t know where I’d be without you. I love you, with everything I have. Thank you, to you boys, and the rest of our little squad, and to my beautiful bestfriend, Zoe, who made sure I looked up to standard tonight. You guys are my whole word, and I love each and every one of you. Thank for you making all of this possible.” She takes a step back and lifts the award with a wide smile, closing her eyes and listening as everyone stands up and cheers for her; that familiar feeling running through her veins.

That night, after winning two more awards, one of which was for your song with Conor, you were all at the after party, high from the thrill and unable to stop smiling. You didn’t know how, but after two hours you’d managed to loose Jack. You tried to go and find him, but Zoe insisted that he’d only got to the loo and would be back in a while. And you believed her, until you heard him cough into the microphone on the stage and everyone fell silent. Your eyes widen and you stare at him in shock.

“First of all, I want to congratulate everyone who was nominated for an award tonight, and those who managed to win those awards. They’re so well deserved.” He raises his glass and everyone claps loudly, though you simply stared at your boyfriend, completely baffled. “But there’s one girl here tonight, who means everything to me. She is my bestfriend, my partner in crime, and my soulmate - but there’s one thing she isn’t yet.” He pauses and smiles at you through the crowd. “(Y/N), I love you. And I want you to be my wife.”

You gasp and bring your hand up to cover your mouth as everyone else screams in excitement and pull out their phones and cameras: that was when you understood why every single one of the boys had begun to vlog the moment he stepped onto the stage.

You begin to walk through the crowds of people until you were directly in-front of him and he knelt down on one knew, opening the red belted box and revealing the absolutely stunning ring to you. “Marry me?”

You nod, and a sob escapes from your lips as he slides the ring onto your finger, the whole party cheering and creaming and throwing confetti at you both as you throw yourself into his arms and hug him tightly, your heart beating in your chest faster than it ever had before.

This was where you needed to be, in the arms of your one true love. Awards and ceremonies didn’t matter in that moment, it was simply you and Jack, in love - and it was beautiful.

i think one of the most realistic scenes in season 3 is the one in ep 3 where Isak and Emma are talking about their favourite music on the couch, and Isak is showing off a bit. he’s been listening to a lot of nas. when you want to feel close to someone, you listen to their favourite music. it’s only been a week since Even introduced Isak to nas, but here he’s acting shocked that Emma hasn’t heard of him, illmatic is only like the best album ever made, come on, everybody knows that, ill as in ill and matic. this is just so relatable to me, because i feel he’s not really just talking about music or nas, he’s also talking about Even and Even’s music. he has this huge crush that he can’t say out loud, to anyone. he can’t talk about the way his eyes shine when he laughs, or the way he smells, or how funny his jokes are. the stuff that is on your mind all the time when you’re 17 and falling for someone, he can’t talk about any of it. he is alone. but he can talk about Even’s music. he can brag about Even through nas. oftentimes people try to appear knowledgeable about music when they want to make an impression on someone, but Isak’s not trying to impress Emma because Emma is already too impressed. he’s trying to distance himself from her. he’s sitting on the couch with Emma, yet all his thoughts are on Even. so he tells Emma about nas because he can’t tell her about Even. these seemingly mundane yet emotionally revealing scenes are one of the reasons i love this show.

Al Jarreau, Grammy-Winning Jazz Singer, Dies at 76

Legendary jazz singer Al Jarreau died Sunday morning, according to his manager Joe Gordon. He was 76.

The seven-time Grammy winner had recently been forced into retirement from touring due to exhaustion, according to the Associated Press.

Gordon told The Hollywood Reporter that Jarreau had been hospitalized and was surrounded by his wife, son and a few of his family and friends. A small private service is set for immediate family only, and no public service has been planned at this time.

The cause of death was unclear at press time, but Jarreau had fought through respiratory and cardiac issues in recent years, TMZ reports.

Jarreau’s biggest single was 1981’s “We’re in This Love Together,” and he was featured on the 1985 all-star song “We Are the World.” Jarreau also sang the theme to television’s Moonlighting.

Jarreau is one of the few artists to have won Grammys in three separate categories - jazz, pop and R&B. Time Magazine once called him the “greatest jazz singer alive.”

“We feel very fortunate to have worked with Al, one of the most distinctive and extraordinary vocalists in the music,” Concord Records president John Burk said in a statement. “He was truly a force of nature and a beautiful human being that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by us all.”

News of Jarreau’s death came as the Grammy Awards were kicking off in Los Angeles.

“He was really one of the most creative vocalists who ever lived,” jazz singer Tierney Sutton told the Associated Press on the red carpet. “His voice was like an instrument.”

Sutton collaborated with Jarreau on the Joni Mitchell tribute album After Blue in 2013.

“Al Jarreau was incredible,” Jill Scott told the AP. “He was one of the most awesome, strange performers I ever met - and I mean ‘strange’ in the best way. He was all about elegance, whether it was drinking a cup of tea or saying good morning.”

Scott, an R&B singer, recorded with Jarreau and George Benson in 2006 on “God Bless the Child.”

Tributes poured in on social media in remembrance of Jarreau as well. Director Ava DuVernay tweeted that her mom used to play Jarreau’s vinyl and that his voice made her happy.

Actress Octavia Spencer wrote that Jarreau “had a mellifluous voice. Soothing. Beautiful.”

Musician and producer Robert Glasper said that Jarreau was one of his first major jazz influences. “He did it his way,” Glasper said.

In a 2014 interview with The Arizona Republic, Jarreau relished in his crossover tendencies.

“I grew up in Milwaukee, and I took it all in. I want it all. Don’t cut me off at the pass and say I can’t listen to Muddy Waters because I’m a jazzer. Or I can’t listen to Garth Brooks because I’m a jazzer. Get out of here,” he said.

Music wasn’t always Jarreau’s focus, however - he didn’t even record his first album until he was 35. Born to a minister father and a mother who played the piano in church, Jarreau sang from an early age, but he was also an athlete who earned a master’s in vocal rehabilitation and started his career as a counselor in San Francisco, playing jazz on the side.

But he couldn’t ignore his passion for performance and eventually gave up his first career to do music full-time.

“His second priority in life was music. There was no third,” read a statement on Jarreau’s website. “His first priority, far ahead of the other, was healing or comforting anyone in need.”

His final album, My Old Friend: Celebrating George Duke, was released in 2014.

Jarreau’s family asks that in lieu of gifts or flowers, people consider a contribution to the Wisconsin Foundation for School Music. The singer received a lifetime achievement award from the Foundation in October.

The full statement on Jarreau’s website is below.

Al Jarreau passed away today, February 12, 2017. He will be missed. A few days ago, I was asked to describe Al to someone who knew of his success, but did not know him as a person. I responded with this: His 2nd priority in life was music. There was no 3rd. His 1st priority, far ahead of the other, was healing or comforting anyone in need. Whether it was emotional pain, or physical discomfort, or any other cause of suffering, he needed to put our minds at ease and our hearts at rest. He needed to see a warm, affirming smile where there had not been one before. Song was just his tool for making that happen. A few things I think he would want mentioned right now: To Al’s wife, son, sister, brothers, and family: You allowed Al to share himself with the world. He was grateful that you gave him that gift. He knew it was difficult, and regretted that more than he could explain. Please know that your gift was to us, too, and that we are also grateful. To everyone who attended his concerts, and listened to his albums: He needed you, and you always were there for him, for more than 50 years. He was thankful for you every day, and did his best to show that to each of you.To his band, and to the many, many talented musicians, writers, composers, and arrangers who played and collaborated with Al over the years: You enabled, supported, and thrilled him. He treasured you, and considered you brilliant. He loved sharing the stage with you, and was honored that you shared it with him. To each promoter, presenter, and producer: Thank you for your faith in him. Your commitment to Al was both essential and endless, and he never took you for granted. To his agents, managers, crew, counselors, publicists, and journalists who supported his work, and also to all of the airline, hotel, venue, and other people who hosted him like royalty: He noticed every bit of the dedication and effort that you unselfishly provided, without limits. And, he appreciated you completely. To young people everywhere, especially the musicians he was grateful to meet at school workshops, musical competitions, residencies, and at concerts: From you, Al asks a favor. Please find any artistic thing that you can do with passion, and do it. With art in your life, you will be a better family member, neighbor, friend, and citizen. Finally, to Al Jarreau: Thank you Al, from all of us. You completed your ministry in a beautiful and gracious way. Godspeed … you’ve earned it.

anonymous asked:

Can I just say thank you for your continued Zayn support/ blogging? Because it's amazing and I love seeing posts about him from people who support Larry as well <3

I mean…Zayn might be the embodiment of this gif:

But I still love that hoe. I love his music…literally the intro to Mind of Mine is some of the best fifty-seven seconds of music I’ve ever heard. Not to mention the rest of the album which deserved so much more than the half-arsed promo it got. No doubt thanks to the fact that it’s still linked to Syco’s ineptitude.

Look at him at his last 1D concert:

I just don’t think he’s this evil diva that he’s being made out to be. Considering that he might actually be the only member of One Direction still contractually tied to the old team, I just don’t see the logic in side eying everything in the tabloids about the other four, but just taking whatever is said about Zayn at face value. Whatever the truth is I don’t think we’ve heard it, nor do I think we’ll get it from this book.

Anyway here’s my favourite photo of Zayn:

Also remember when he was way too excited about Harry feeling him up?

Like, chill. You know we can see what you’re doing with your face, right?

Also I lied, this is my favourite photo of Zayn:

Every time I see it I’m like

Anyway, yeah. I love Zayn. I hope he’s alright and that his treehouse is structurally sound because ever since I found out he built it himself I’ve been extremely concernicus about it.

Songfic based on Long Live by Taylor Swift

A/N: Long Live has always been one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs, ever since I first heard it in 2010, and after listening to it again recently, I realized it would make the perfect phanfiction! They’ve seriously accomplished so much in these past seven years and I couldn’t be more proud of them. (Also, this made me sob multiple times while writing this. I have a problem.) You can find the song here, and I strongly encourage listening to it while you read as it really helps bring the fic to life. I hope you enjoy!!

When we did ‘All Too Well,’ I hadn’t heard from her in awhile. She hadn’t really been writing. I was in Nashville one day, slowly moving the last bits of junk out of my garage so I could move to Dallas. My house had already sold, so I had to come back and clean it out. I had a trailer and four guys helping me, and I was sick with some kind of sinus infection. It was just the worst day. I was in my driveway and my phone rings, and it’s Taylor saying, 'Man, I’ve got this thing and I really need you to help me with it. Can you write today? What are you doing today?’ So I gave those guys the keys to my storage place, told them to put all my stuff into storage and drove over to Taylor’s.

It was the first song she wrote for that record, I think. She had a story and she wanted to say something specific. She had a lot of information. I just let her go. She already had a melody and she started singing some words, and I started writing things down, saying, 'Ok, let’s use this, let’s use that.’ She mentioned a plaid shirt, and I wrote that down in a corner, and when we got to the end, I said, 'Let’s put the plaid shirt in there.’ That turned into one of the best lines: 'After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own/Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone/But you keep my old scarf from that very first week/'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me.’ It was the most emotional, in-depth song we’ve ever written.

I was tagged by the lovely @badmoviescene in the Shuffle Tag.  Let’s see how far into the ridiculous depths of my itunes we can get hahaha

Instructions: You can tell a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to. Put your music on shuffle and list first 10 songs, then tag 10 people. No skipping!

  1. Destination Anywhere by Sugarcult
  2. Sic Transit Gloria…. Glory Fades by Brand New
  3. Knights of the Round Table/The Sound That Goes Like This (reprise) from the musical Spamalot

NIN Challenge 2.0 Day 5

Day 5 - Favourite songs from The Downward Spiral

Yep I’m doing it. It should be wise to let people know that TDS is third in my all time favourite NIN albums list. This is arguably NIN’s most popular album and my opinions change over time depending on how many times I hear it.

Arguably the most popular NIN song (behind Closer which I am not THE biggest fan of) What can I say that hasn’t been said a thousand times. One of the best songs ever made in my own opinion and unlike other people, I get really ticked off whenever someone mentions heroin, I’ve always pictured this as someone dying on an operating table or hospital bed as the ending static reminds of a flat line sound on a heart rate monitor (and the opening of The Downward Spiral sounds like a breathing apparatus)

That godamn guitar solo. That is all.

Perhaps one of NIN’s sexiest and grotesque songs. Feels like I’m in a weird sex dungeon everytime I hear it. Trent even said that he would have loved to release it as a single to which he should have. I love the Texas Chainsaw Massacre sample before the last chorus too, one of the first things I picked out when I originally heard it. I just love how this song punches you in the face as soon as it starts.

2-A Warm Place + Eraser
Again, these are two tracks that in my opinion can’t be separated hence why I merged them into one spot. A Warm Place is so beautiful of a song, it’s one of those songs that sends you back into a happy place or can just crush you if you are feeling low. No words are needed to describe this feeling. And then Eraser kicks in and your perfect world falls apart around you whilst you are being dragged further down the spiral til you reach the void.

1-The Becoming
All hail this song, the best from TDS in my own opinion. Single worthy and just perhaps one of the scariest songs that Trent has produced (listen to this song with head/earphones late and night on a loop). I prefer this one compared to the acoustic version because this one is more bombastic and chaotic especially with the acoustic bridge (Annie, hold a little tighter) and just Trent screaming perhaps the highest pitch he has ever gone.

Unrequited love? (G-Dragon Scenario)

I’m really glad that I’m writing again too ^^ Hope you like it and enjoy!

Summary: Having feelings for someone isn’t easy when he sort of seems to hate you. How will he react when you suddenly stop acting nice to him, being too tired of being treated like that?

The doors to the elevator smoothly slid open and you stepped out into the familiar corridor you’d walked down many times over the last five years. Knowing exactly which way to go, you made your way towards your destination. You didn’t get very far, however, as the person you were there to see suddenly rounded a corner – making his way towards your direction.

“Oppa!” you happily exclaimed, walking a little faster towards him.

All he did in response was smirk and raise a hand in greeting, as much as he possibly could - his hands being occupied by boxes. When you reached him, you instantly relieved him of some of the, honestly, heavy boxes and the two of you naturally fell into step beside each other. You knew where he was going, since this place was very familiar to you. This was all thanks to the person next to you. Your older brother.

This place also happened to be his workplace; YG Entertainment - home of powerhouse groups such as BIGBANG, 2NE1 and Epic High, to only name a few. Since your brother had worked at YG for about five years now, you’d gotten the opportunity to meet and befriend quite a few people affiliated with the well-known entertainment company. The members of BIGBANG were a few of them… Well, four out of the five, at least. The fifth was someone you’d developed a childish crush on when you first met him, when you were still in a minor and in school. Now, fresh out of high school and finally of legal age, that crush was still very much there.

The problem, though, was that he was nine years older than you and… Hadn’t really seemed to like you at all, from the very start. He, being none other than Kwon Ji Yong – G-Dragon.

As his face popped into your head, a slight frown found its way to your face. Your heartbeat, though, instantly sped up. You often questioned yourself as to why you liked him so much, considering the fact that he treated you like a kid – that he found extremely annoying and didn’t want to be around. But, you couldn’t help it. He made your heart race, simple as that.

Once you’d helped your brother get the boxes to where they were supposed to be, you immediately abandoned him and hurried of to the place you knew some of your favorite people would be.

As soon as you reached the familiar door, a smile found its way to your face. Opening the door without even bothering to knock, you were instantly greeted by the sight of three of your favorite people on the couch. Dong Youngbae and the two Seung Hyuns. They happily called your name as a greeting and, as soon as you’d entered the studio they were currently in and had closed the door, Daesung enveloped you in a tight hug. Laughing because of his action you wrapped your arms around his waist and hugged him back.

Once you’d let go of him and got a chance to take a look around the studio, the person sitting by the monitors and equipment outside the recording booth instantly caught your eye. He was sitting with his back to you and seemed to be immersed in his work. Even though you couldn’t see his face, you knew he looked really handsome. Like always.

“Hi, Oppa~”, you exclaimed in a happy tone, a big smile on your face.

There was no response from him, though, but you brushed it off as him being too caught up with what he was doing. He hadn’t heard you… Yeah, that must be it.

“Oppa~”, you said and saw how his head raised ever so slightly, signaling that he’d heard you this time. However…

“Why is she here?” Ji Yong said in a somewhat harsh tone, not even turning around to look at you.

His words hurt, like always. Biting your lip and looking down at your shoes, your brows furrowed slightly as a hurt expression spread across your face.

“Don’t be mean to her, hyung”, Daesung said and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, a comforting smile on his face when you looked up at him.

“Either she sits down, shuts up and lets us work”, he seemed to ignore Daesung’s words completely, “or she gets the hell out of here and bothers her brother instead”

The harshness in his voice really wasn’t something you wanted to have directed at you, even though you should be used to it by now. This was what he’d been like since the first time you met him, pretty much. It had always confused you why he acted like that towards you, but you’d always been too stubborn and love struck to let it bother you enough to leave him alone. You’d always convinced yourself that, if you were friendly enough with him, he’d at least stop treating you like crap.

Now being 18 and legally an adult, that mentality seemed to have disappeared. When did that happen? When did you get so tired of being treated like that? You really had no good answer as to when it happened, all you knew in that very moment was that it had happened. You didn’t want him to treat him like that anymore, no matter how much you liked him.

Taking a deep, yet shaky, breath, you offered a small smile to Daesung and gently removed his arm from around your shoulders. The moment after that, you turned around and exited the studio without a single word to anyone of the five older men in the room. At the sound of the door slamming, Ji Yong turned around in slight confusion. That confusion only grew when he realized that you weren’t in the room anymore. You’d really left? That was new.

Each and every time he’d told you something similar to that, you’d ignored him completely and had instead energetically bounced up to him – asking him what he was working on and, in turn, annoying him even more.

Shaking his head slightly, he turned back to the monitor in front of him and resumed his work. You leaving in a situation like this was nothing but a one-time thing. You’d definitely go back to your old ways really soon. You were probably just having a bad day, he told himself.

It wasn’t a one-time thing, though. You were back at YG the very next day, but didn’t even acknowledge him when you entered the studio. After greeting the other four members, you excused yourself after an unusually short amount of time, telling them that your brother wanted your help. This was something that quickly became a pattern. Every time you visited the well-known building during the next month, you barely even spared Ji Yong a single glance. Also, during the very rare moments where he was the one to talk to you first, the response he got was cold and the replies were short.

He was confused and he suddenly felt conflicted.

For the last five years, your presence was one he’d been forced to get used to whenever he came to the studio to work, since he often worked closely with your brother. Pretty much since day one, you’d stuck to him like glue whenever you visited – acting like a puppy towards him, following him around wherever he went. He’d always found it extremely annoying and had often wondered if he should try to get your brother fired, just so he didn’t have to have you around.

So… Why did he miss all of those annoying things all of a sudden?

He suddenly missed hearing you laugh, seeing your smile and the curious glint in your eyes whenever you sat next to him and watched him work. Why?! Why did every single thing you did catch his attention all of a sudden, no matter how much he tried to fight it? All of this did nothing but make him even more annoyed every time your face so much as popped into his head. Which it did… More often than not nowadays.

“You know she’s liked you since the first time you met, right?” Youngbae casually said one night when it was just the two of them left in the studio.

“I know”, Ji Yong answered in a somewhat annoyed tone, trying to concentrate on what he had in front of him.

A little more than a month had now gone by since you suddenly started ignoring him and, as if that wasn’t enough, your visits to the studio or to meet your brother had decreased. Ji Yong tried to blame it on the fact that you’d recently become a university student, but he knew that it wasn’t because of that. It was because of him and it honestly pissed him off.

“Ever considered the fact that you might feel the same?” Youngbae bluntly asked.

“What?” Ji Yong snapped, turning to look at his best friend of over a decade like he was crazy, “she’s a damn kid, Youngbae-ah”

“She’s 18 now, so technically she’s not a kid anymore”, Youngbae said, “and, honestly, ever since last month when you snapped at her and she started to ignore you, you’ve been kind of an ass”

“We’re almost finished with our album”; Ji Yong said, “it’s stressing me out”

“We both know it’s not because of the album”; Youngbae said and stood up, patting the leader on the shoulder before exiting the studio – in need of some coffee, if he was going to survive the inevitable all-nighter waiting around the corner.

Left in the studio was an increasingly more annoyed Kwon Ji Yong, wondering what the hell had gotten into his best friend. What he’d said was absolutely ridiculous.

Before he had time to get any further with those thoughts, though, the door suddenly opened again. Being convinced that Youngbae had returned, Ji Yong turned to ask the man something related to their new album. The words were caught in his throat, though, when he realized who it was that’d actually opened the door.

“Youngbae Oppa, my brother said that he-“, you instantly went quiet as soon as you saw that Ji Yong was the only one in the studio, the reason for you being there forgotten, “oh… Have you seen Youngbae Oppa?”

The coldness in your tone made his chest sting slightly and the words of his best friend suddenly came back. Ever considered the fact that you might feel the same? There was no way. Right?

“Cafeteria”, he simply told you.

“… Thank you”, you mumbled, turning around and intending on making a quick escape.

The moment your hand made contact with the doorknob, though, you heard Ji Yong calling your name. The tone of his voice sounded surprisingly desperate, like he didn’t want you to leave. Standing frozen by the door, your hand still gripping the doorknob, you waited for him to speak.

“You’ve been ignoring me”, he stated and you could hear the chair he was sitting on squeak slightly as he spun it around, before standing up from it. You couldn’t help it whatsoever when your heartbeat quickened, he always made your body react like that.

“So, I want to know why you suddenly started doing that”, he said and you could hear his footsteps getting closer to where you stood.

“You treat me like crap for years and you’re surprised that I finally had enough?” you ask in a somewhat harsh tone, even though your heart was still beating like crazy.

“Why now all of a sudden?”

“I got tired of it”, you said, “I can only take so much and I… Had enough”

“I’m sorry”

His words surprised you a great deal, since those were the last two words you’d ever expected to hear from his mouth – especially directed at you.

“What?” finally, you took your hand off the doorknob and turned to look at Ji Yong, who was now standing surprisingly close to you – close enough for you to be able to smell his intoxicating scent.

“I’m sorry”, he repeated and took yet another step closer to you, now invading your personal space and making you slightly lightheaded from the closeness, “I know that it won’t really help at all, since I’ve been an ass towards you for years, but… I’m really sorry, for treating you like that”

“Why?” you asked, “why are you apologizing all of a sudden?”

“I missed you”, he answered bluntly, surprising you a great deal.

“When you started ignoring me and, basically, giving me a taste of my own medicine”, he said, “I realized how much I missed having you around”

It felt very strange to hear him say things like that, since he’d never really done it before. The nervousness in your body quickly grew, both because of his words and because of how close he was standing to you. Was this a dream?

Hearing Ji Yong call your name brought you back to reality and you looked up at him with eyes filled with confusion and surprise.

“You like me”, it was a statement, “you have ever since we first met”

“H-how do you know that?” you manage to stutter.

“You haven’t exactly been discreet in hiding it from me”, he said and smirk ever so slightly, something that made your heart skip a beat at the sight. God, he was handsome.

“I…”, you really had no idea what to say.

“Youngbae confronted me about the possibility that I might feel the same”, he said, “which is a load of crap”

“… O-oh?”

“But, honestly, I think he might be right”

At those words, you heart felt ready to jump out of your chest because it was beating so much. What the hell had he just said? Was he serious? What?! That was definitely the last thing you’d ever expected him to say to you, considering how you’d managed to make his mood turn sour every time you were around him for the last five years.

He called your name again, in a quiet voice, effectively bringing you back to reality. He was looking at you with an unreadable expression on his face and it felt like he was waiting for you to say something. You didn’t know what to say, though. Your thoughts were a tangled mess because of him.

“I like you”, he suddenly murmured, leaning closer and effectively doubling your heartbeat again.

“Y-you… Wh-… Really?” the last word came out as nothing but a whisper as you stared up at him in shock.

Honestly, he’d already confessed to his feelings a few moments ago, but hearing him say it straight-out like that was something completely different.

Nodding slightly at you question, he leaned in even closer – hovering his lips right above yours, as if he was waiting for your permission to take the leap. Swallowing hard from nervousness, you raised your hands and took a light hold on his shirt before raising yourself to stand on your tip toes. Through all this, Ji Yong did nothing but stand completely still – watching your every move.

Moments later, he seemed to find the permission he was looking for and closed the remaining distance between your lips. It felt like complete heaven, to be honest. You’d fantasized about this moment for the last five years, like a silly little girl in love, but now that it was actually happening… It outdid every single fantasy you’d ever had.

The kiss ended after a few moments and only then did you realize that Ji Yong had wrapped his arms around you. Smiling up at him, you were met with that stunning and charming smile you’d had very few opportunities to have directed at you in the past. That would most definitely change now, though.

“My brother’s going to kill you when he finds out, you know that right?”

“Probably”, he said and smirked.
