mlaynelawson: Throwback to one of my (many) favorite photos from the TRP shoot in #Toronto a couple of weeks ago. I don’t think this was planned – the silent shutter was enabled on my camera and we were just talking. #inbetweentakes
When it comes to capturing moments that give you all the feels, Sam Desantis has it on lock. The way that Sam captures raw moments in time and turns them into nostalgic memories is insanely inspiring. We can’t get enough of her moody “blue” photos and can’t wait to see SXSW through her lens as she captures the festival as a guest blogger for Vans Girls. Follow along all week on the Vans Girls blog and Instagram and get lost in Sam’s photography…
synopsis: “After all these time of me hurting you, why?” “Because Jaebum, never ever, I would fall out of love with you.”

“I love you.”
A salty, wet drop of vapor rolled down onto your cheek as you shot up from the bed, eyes darting across the dim room to a small bed table. Stretching your hands towards the digital alarm clock to tap the button, causing the artificial light to shine all over your room, displaying the time “3:07a.m.”
“I love you.” The words that used to haunt you the most at 3am somehow found its way into your head again: Jaebum’s never ending, soothing voice roaming the halls of your head, locked inside the depths.
Ohhh how about they create an account where they take pictures of the dolls having adventures kind of what @feelingsinwinter does with Lego, or just tagging along with an avenger.
I dig it. Bonus: It’s just Bucky that does it. Tony has no idea until he’s doing an interview for Teen Vogue and the girl asks about it and he says “What?” And she opens up her Instagram to show him this very popular account called “Sim-Kwiss” (CIMCWS) and there–there’s Crochet Iron Man and Crochet Winter Soldier going on adventures.
“My favorite is when this Preying Mantis crashed the photo shoot and the guy just rolled with it,” she adds, scrolling down to where–CWS is the one being attacked by the preying mantis and saved by CIM. Teen Vogue has a great article plus great pictures of Tony in quiet awe of all these pictures.
(Tony thinks about this for ages. It’s never Iron Man in trouble; it’s always the Winter Soldier being rescued. He wonders what that means, that Iron Man is always saving the Winter Soldier. Bucky is quite good at taking care of himself, especially in battle. He hasn’t brought up that he saw Bucky make them kiss–that, that was private, Bucky didn’t even know he’d seen it. How does he bring this up? Should he? Bucky seems… happier these days. Tony doesn’t want to ruin it, if making CIM and CWS go on adventures is what makes him happy, what makes his shoulders relax.)
((Bucky sees the interview in Teen Vogue (he likes Teen Vogue, he thinks they cover things really well, he wishes more magazines did these things), sees Tony’s quiet awe as he looks through Bucky’s Instagram, and cuts the article and pictures out to put in his special little box that Bruce helped him make when working with his hands was the only thing that made him forget the blood on them. It’s full of articles and interviews with Tony. He keeps CIM in there sometimes too, when he can’t stand himself, can’t trust himself, and doesn’t want to hurt the little doll. The box is a safe place.))
oh my god that is almost impossible to answer I literally have so many I adore from every era we’d be here all day! But if I had to pick one right now, the first one that sprang into my mind was this one:~
I feel like it just really captures her in her element and I just love the quote that goes with it too; “she gives off an enormous focused energy and oddly enough, a kind of radiant peace.”
Plus the fact that she later said how much she enjoyed that photo shoot and how it lifted her spirits at a time when she was feeling so low, and that it was taken at such a transitioning period in her life as her role as first lady was coming to an end and she was really coming into her own again, carving out her own path and eventually running for the senate and thriving in her own right.
“If you’re going to rave about how sexy a male artist looks with his shirt off and a woman decides to get in her panties or show her boobies for a photo shoot, she needs to be treated with the same awe and admiration, I will say it until I’m an old-ass lady with my tits out at Whole Foods. I’ll be in the produce aisle, naked at 95, with a sensible ponytail, one strand of hair left on my head and a Chanel bow. Mark my words. See you there with my 95 dogs.”
Don’t worry about how you look. Because when you’re 19 and nervous, you are self-conscious and that does effect how you perceive yourself when you look in the mirror. It evaporates the older that you get, but all that sh-t when you’re in your light teens and early 20s—it’s such a waste of time.
Truth or dare? Truth= tell us something embarrassing. Dare= give us the supervillain science minion hippo photo shoot we all know we need.
i can’t give you the photo shoot as a gimmick come on now
and my favorite stories are embarrassing ones so there’s that
one time in college i was grocery shopping with my roommates and one of them asked me to go grab her an avocado and i defs didn’t know what an avocado looked like from the outside so I grabbed a super unrip mango instead. they have never let me live that one down.
Joshifer Daily Reminder: One of my favorite photo shoots was this one for USA Today for MJ2. Look at how beautiful they are. Jen so pretty and Josh so handsome (Style your hair boy! Always!). But it’s the little things that make me swoon. Her hand around his arm. His elbow leaning on her thigh. Their bodies turned toward each other. Again. The happy smile and laughter they share. They make a striking couple. And they always look happiest when they’re together. (Sorry Lima Bean.)
Another year of photography has come around for me and I’m really excited to share my favorite photos of the year. I didn’t shoot many shows, but I did walk away from them with some of my favorite captures yet. I also worked on a lot of project-based portraits, so a couple of those will be thrown in, too. I hope you all enjoy which photos I chose, and the little tidbits I add underneath as to why they are a favorite of mine.
10. Motion Project
This photo was inspired by a very talented photographer (Brandon Woelfel) - the photo itself was challenging to capture, but I ended up being happy with the outcome. This was taken later on this year, and I feel it isn’t one of my best, which is why I have it at the tail end of my list.
I had a late start when it came to shooting shows this year. The first I shot was in April, being Cartel. This is in no way one of my better photos, but I remember I took it right before I left the venue, and it was my last shot of the night. It may not be much, but photographing Cartel was really, really cool.
8. Never Shout Never
This explanation is simple: childhood. Never Shout Never was my first show as a teenager, and I saw them on the Harmony Tour with the Maine in Ybor City. I remember having a point and shoot at that show and I tried to take my best photos from the back of the venue. Sure, then I thought they were like, the best photos ever, but looking back now, I’m really glad that I was so persistent about getting photos because I’m able to make such a drastic comparison. Overall, shooting their set was super nostalgic, and I’m sure many people have felt the same.
7. Panic! at the Disco
This was such a long day and I was convinced that the show was going to get cancelled. It stormed really bad for hours, and the fans had to evacuate at an outdoor show and find cover places elsewhere. Robert Delong’s set got shut down 2 songs in, and PATD’s set time kept getting pushed back. I was soaked, my equipment was soaked, and I was very panicked (shocking) about the whole day. Around an hour and a half later, the show finally started back up and it was very difficult to shoot: wet stage, muddy pit, spots on my lens. Despite it being a very hectic day, I could finally cross photographing Panic! off of my list.
6. Silhouette Project
I took these photos very last minute for a project, and I was shocked at how much I loved the outcome. Capturing silhouettes can be difficult if you don’t time the sunset just right, and I can honestly say that I nailed it with this photo. It has been in art shows, and has caught so many people’s attention. It’s one of my favorite images from a form of portraiture and I’d love to see what I can do next.
5. New Politics
Photographing New Politics is always incredibly fun, and there’s always a surprise. David had jumped down into the crowd for a minute and one of my favorite things to capture is fan to artist connections. To see the smiles on everyone’s face in one photo speaks volumes, especially if you know what it’s like to be passionate about music or seeing your favorite band/artist. There’s a certain glow to his expression while singing to his fans and hearing his lyrics sang back to him that really makes me love this photo.
4. Levitation Project
Another challenging shoot for me, but I’m so proud of what I accomplished. I love a warm photo when it’s done right, and I feel that I captured the mood of this perfectly. The movement of her hair and placement of her hands almost makes it look like she’s falling, and I love it. The way this photo came together is unbelievable, as the before photo looks like a completely different image.
3. Walk the Moon
Walk the Moon provided such an energetic and entertaining set for both fans and the photographers. This in particular captures so much emotion, and it portrays that they truly love performing. The way that they captivated the audience was truly incredible. I could photograph WTM over and over again and not get tired of them, and I’m confident that I would walk away with something new each show.
2. Halloween Project
I really learned to push myself when it came to this project. We had trouble with day one, almost completely wasting an entire day of shooting due to constant error. The next day we picked up the slack and were determined to get great photos out of the shoot, and our motivation worked. I’ve never walked away loving so many photos from a single shoot. Picking a photo for this post was hard, but something about this one constantly keeps me coming back to it.
—— TIE ——
It was way too difficult to choose between these two, so I decided to make them both #1. Both were huge moments for me personally and career wise.
1. twenty one pilots
I have gone through hell and back trying to photograph twenty one pilots, it’s actually ridiculous. Plus, this was my first confetti shot out of all of the shows I have been able to cover in the past. It was a very frustrating night as some photographers were completely disrespectful and selfish to the rest of us around them, but I made the best out of it. twenty one pilots is another band that I could photograph over and over again and not get tired of doing so. It’s also no surprise as to how much they can win a crowd over, and their fans are so dedicated. The energy at the amphitheater during their set was insane, and every single person in the crowd (20,000 strong, sold out) was on their feet singing every word back. I’m glad that tøp was my last shoot of the year.
I was running incredibly late to Emarosa’s set and made it for half of the second song and the full of the third (photographers are only allowed first 3 songs, in case you didn’t know that.) I’m basically sprinting in, and every photographer was nice enough to make some room so I could get some shots. Well, I made it just in time. As soon as I got there, Bradley jumped down onto the barricade and started to sing to this lucky, dedicated fan. Catching this moment meant so much to me, and I knew I had to post it right away so that the fan could hopefully find it. Well, it was liked by thousands. I have never gotten such a positive response from one of my photos before, and it meant a lot to me. Reposts should never determine whether a show was a successful shoot or not, but having Warped Tour and Bradley himself repost it really made me feel good because that fan ended up seeing the photo. That’s what matters to me - catching moments for fans that are living in the moment, with their phone down and their full attention on the band/artist they paid to see. It’s so rewarding.
Hands down, I had the best looking girlfriend in the world. All the other lads were jealous because, not only was she a stunning model, but she was just out right amazing in every sense. I loved absolutely everything about her.
The other day, she had a photo shoot with Calvin Klein. She promised to send me her favorite pictures as soon as she could. My phone suddenly vibrated with a text message. I picked up the phone to see it was a text from (Y/N) with four attachments. I eagerly opened up the text to see the pictures.
The first picture was of (Y/N) laying down wearing a simple black sports bra. Another was of her standing up, wearing tiny black panties with a white Calvin Klein band and a sweater bunched up at the side. One was just of her backside. She wasn’t wearing a bra, her hair falling down her bare back, and she was wearing a thong. The last picture was her wearing only a pair of white boyshorts. She was shirtless with her arms crossed to cover herself and she was staring seductively at the camera. Just looking at the pictures had me fidgeting, feeling like my trousers were a bit too tight. I kicked my trousers off as I laid in bed, still staring at the pictures. My phone vibrated again when (Y/N) sent me a text. I’ll be home soon. Can’t wait to show you the parts the cameras couldn’t.
I let out a groan and palmed myself a bit through my boxers, just to relieve myself a little. It’s really not fair how hard you make me, I texted her back. I looked back at the pictures, continuing to tease myself a bit over my boxers. Before I could do anything more, I was uncomfortably interrupted. “Ahh, mate, my eyes!”
I looked up and in my bedroom doorway was Caspar. “Get out!” I shouted, throwing a pillow at him. “I should’ve never fucking gave you that spare key!” Caspar was laughing now. “I swear, if you’re still here when I come out of this room I’ll beat your ass.”
“Just came over to see if you wanted to film,” Caspar said, stifling a laugh again. “I can see you’re a bit busy.”
“You’re an asshole,” I said back. Caspar laughed again and left the room. I was only able to relax once I heard the door to my flat open and shut.
About a half hour later, (Y/N) came home. As soon as she walked into our bedroom, I stood up and walked over to her. “Did you like the pictures?” she asked with a cheeky smile.
“Oh baby, you have no idea,” I said back pulling her close to me. (Y/N) wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed our lips together. We walked over to the bed and I immediately began to take off her shirt. She was wearing a sexy black Calvin Klein bra. I groaned and pulled my own shirt over my head. Within seconds, the two of us were completely naked, rolling around on the bed fighting for dominance.
(Y/N) was the one who won out. I was laying on my back on the bed, staring up at her beautiful body. She let out a groan as she eased herself onto me. “Fuck,” I groaned, tossing my head back. “You feel so good.” (Y/N) leaned down and pressed her lips to mine. One of my hands held her head close to me and the other was tweaking at her nipples. She would speed up at one point only to slow down to an agonizing pace. “Baby, you’re killing me,” I groaned. “Don’t tease me like this.”
“You want me to go faster?” she asked, kissing my neck.
“Fuck, yes baby,” I said, gripping her hips tightly. With that, (Y/N) quickened her pace. Right as I was on the edge, she finished, calling out my name loudly and raking her nails across my chest. That was all it took for me to reach my high as well. Once we had both relaxed, (Y/N) laid next to me and kissed my neck, down to my chest, and back up again.
“So,” she said, looking into my eyes with a cheeky smile. “Do you like it when I send you pictures?” I rolled my eyes teasingly at her. She giggled and asked, “Which one was your favorite?” I sat up to grab my phone and show her which one I liked best.
When I did, I saw that I had a message from Caspar. I rolled my eyes, remembering what had happened earlier. His message read Are you good to film today, or are you still a bit “busy”? I rolled my eyes at his message.
“What?” (Y/N) asked after reading the message over my shoulder. I explained to her what had happened, causing her to laugh a little bit.
“Shut up,” I mumbled back, going to text Caspar. Before I could, (Y/N) took my phone and went to take a picture of the two of us. She held the blanket so it was covering her chest and she laid her head in the crook of my neck. Without showing me what she texted, she sent the message to Caspar:
The cheers that filled the air upon the announcement of her win might have made Marinette temporarily deaf, but nothing would be able to dampen her spirits.
With shaking knees and a grin slapped frozen on her face, Marinette made her way up to the stage, the host helping her up, squeezing her shoulders as he asked, “Is there anything you’d like to say to our viewers?”
“Uh, y-yeah! Thank you all so much for your support, it’s really been the best, uh, thank you to my family, my friends, everyone who’s been with me since day one! I couldn’t have accomplished this without you guys! This is for all of you!” she giggled into the microphone.
In the audience, she could see Alya and Nino whooping in delight. Her mother and father sat beside them, clapping proudly. And between them, acting like he was already part of the family (and to Marinette and her parents, he was), was Adrien Agreste, Marinette’s boyfriend, the love of her life. He was standing on his chair, clapping wildly, a grin plastered on his face, gesturing for her to look his way.
When she did, he grinned, blew her a kiss, and shouted, “I love you!”
Etta James, I always talk about being my hands down favorite singer of all time. She just had this raw, gut-wrenching soul and authenticity about her voice that there was just no hiding anything. There was no pretend anything. And there’s something truly inspiring and so raw about her that I just always loved what she’s done. So meeting for a photo shoot and being able to talk with her and even singing with her, some of her own songs, which I was completely intimidated to do in front of my idol, was just unbelievable. One of the highlights of my whole not only career but life. – 2015
Fionna was enjoying the Summer sun at one of his favorite restaurants with his sister, Kaylee. The pair of twins sharing a grilled cheese with tomato and each sipping their carbonated waters, gossiping about Keaton’s upcoming photo shoot he had with Calvin Klein.
“Ooh! I’m so happy for you! You’re truly expanding your brand, Keat. Hopefully you won’t forget all about little ole’ me.” The designer giggled, and Keaton chuckled, shaking his head at her.
“Naw, Sis I could never forget my favorite designer.” He cooed and his attention was caught by a beauty walking by their seat inside the fenced outside area of the restaurant. “Oh wow…” He muttered, blinking once and leaning a bit to the side to let out a whistle towards the gorgeous woman. “Aye, Sweetheart!” He called. “Ya walkin’ or workin’?” He chuckled.
“Keaton!” Kaylee scoffed and smacked his wrist on the table.
My friend (who has family in Greece) invited me to spend a few weeks with her and her aunt in Athens and Thessaloniki. Originally, I wasn’t going to bring any cosplay (for many reasons, including being self-conscious >__<) But my friend told me that it would be terrible to pass up this great opportunity to actually have a cosplay shoot on-location. So I did—And I’m glad I listened to her because it was a lot of fun, and a rather magical, incredibly surreal experience to actually shoot here in Greece itself! My favorite photo is the one of Heracles standing and watching over the 1896 Athens Olympic stadium because he is looking upon a modern Greek construction which is rooted with his mother’s ancient Olympic traditions. The 1896 Olympics also triggered the completion of the Athens metro system, which in turn, led to the accidental excavation of many ancient Greek ruins! One of which is in Monastiraki square (nearby another one which I have photos with, closer to Plaka). There is a 1700’s Ottoman mosque and 900’s church also located in Monastiraki square, so this one little area contains several important relics from several different periods of history! The mosque is now a folk-art museum, I believe ^^. Our tour guide yesterday told us about how one of the great elements of Athens is that so many important and beautiful structures with such different architecture can exist within just meters of each other, for citizens and visitors to enjoy! <3 Also: Did I mention that Greece has many well-fed, and well-cared for stray kittens? I got lucky enough to stumble upon a very friendly orange cat who crawled up on my lap for a few photos!
Not a lot of people can say they are dating a celebrity, but it is not what its cracked up to be. People don’t realize how often their partner isn’t at home. For example, musicians are always on the road promoting their music, doing tours, and doing surprise appearances while actors are always promoting their films or television shows, photo shoots, and filming their projects. It seems like a huge hassle to the celebrity’s personal life, but their partner just needs to understand.
“Everyone else is relying on ugly, why can’t I rely on pretty?!”
Me cosplaying as the astonishing, brilliant, amazingly sweet, ultra-talented, wise and absolutely stunning Miss Courtney Act! It was such an honor to pay homage to her… She is truly an inspiration to me and I really look up to her.
And also, this is one of my favorite looks of hers and so it was so much fun to shoot! She really had some of the BEST looks on Drag Race!
All photos taken by Miss Missy Photography!
(SPECIAL THANKS to Courtney for letting me borrow her sparkly hair cap and fishy!)
