one in a life time chance

anonymous asked:

Could you write a poem about how the what if's and could have beens in life torture us? Thankyou :)

What if
If only
Only one
One time
What if I raised my hand
Would my teacher look at me the same
What if I asked that girl
Her pretty face must’ve had a beautiful name
What if I laughed along
When those guys made a joke
What if I found some friends
Who’d stay here, I’ll never know
What if I called my mum
Three times a day just to know
How she is and if she’s fine
And to say hey before she goes
What if I took that chance
Moved halfway across the globe
What if I met my love
After a 5 hour train from home
What if I regret every time I’ve said no
To up-and-leaving everyone
What if
If only
Only one
One time

Senpai what would happen if the 2ps found out s/o was killed

  • Grief over your death can turn to rage in less than a day
  • I mean he is very affected by your death, but at the same time, he has the urge to make someone pay for what they did to you.
  • He’s smarter than he acts, so it’s most likely that he’ll find your killer very soon. Especially if he puts all of his efforts on it.
  • And once he does find them, it would just be a quick shot to the head.
  • No torture. Just one headshot.

  • Like Allen, Mattieu he would take action just moments after your death.
  • He would hunt your killer down. Either they die before he gets the chance to take their life, or…
  • Well… How about getting eaten by a beast (Kuma)?
  • Asides from wanting to avenge your death, he has no point living. Thinking about you hurts, and thinking about a future without you also hurts. He’s lost in an empty void.

  • Months after your death, he still hasn’t moved on.
  • Heck, it might even take years for him to get back on his feet.
  • He’s just… Damaged… Really damaged. He’d have to stay high everyday to feel numb.
  • He has no motives in getting better. If he can’t even take care of himself, I don’t think he has any plans on killing someone to make himself feel better
  • Unlike others, whether your killer is dead or not means nothing to him. You are gone. How the fuck is he supposed to live now??

  • His heart felt heavy, tears streamed down his cheeks like waterfalls, and throughout the night, he howled in pain. It’s like h lost the sweetness life once was, and it turned to bitterness.
  • It would take a while for him to feel motivated to live again, but once he does, your killer is now the key to the door to his new life.
  • With magic, he’d be able to find your killer in less than a day.
  • And once he does, he has options on how he will get rid of them. Torture them the old fashioned way, or curse them for the rest of their life (don’t underestimate magic, because he can get creative).

  • Numb. With all the pain and anguish he is feeling, he felt lifeless like he always was before you came.
  • He’ll deny it more than any of the allies. He denies to everyone and even himself that he is depressed. But he knows better than anyone what kind of hell is going on in his mind.
  • If he can’t even take care of himself, I don’t think killing your killer is what he has in mind. But rather…

  • Out of all the allies, he is the one dealing with his s/o’s death in the most healthiest ways. But at the same time, not really.
  • Despite that fact, that doesn’t make his situation any more better than the others. He’s suffering just as much as the others will if their lover died.
  • He would seem normal like he always was, but the Allies know how much your death has affected him. If you are perceptive enough that he isn’t cold like he usually is. He’s just dead, but breathing.
  • He’s at crossroads. He feels guilty that he doesn’t want to make that criminal pay for what he did to you.

  • He has let his anger get a hold of him before, which is why he has a reputation to be feared. But no one really knows the real reason to fear him. Dead men just don’t get to live to tell the tales.
  • Those dead men? They’re the ones who was supposed to watch over you, but failed. Its inevitable that they lost their life job.
  • He’ll deal with your killer himself. Nobody other than him will see your killer suffering in pain for what they did to you, and he can reassure you that they won’t be dying peacefully.
  • Everyone he blames for your death will suffer that faith.

  • Your death is too heavy for him to handle. He’s not as lively as he was before, and just getting up from the bed is a difficult thing to do.
  • The heaviness is in his body as it is in his heart and mind. Things just aren’t the same anymore.
  • He should be out there trying to do what he knows is best for you, which is killing that bastard. But after that… What now?
  • It’s unlikely of him to be like this. Even Kuro and Luciano are bothered by this and would want the person who caused him his misery to die. That’s just how much he has changed.

  • You were one of the very, very few people who managed to break his cold exterior. And now that you are killed…
  • He’s all by himself… Bleeding through the cracks of his icy mask.
  • Whoever did this to you will receive the punishment they deserve.
  • It’s not revenge that he is doing this for, but rather, he is doing this for himself. Knowing you, this is now what you would’ve wanted. But after what they did to you and how much your passing has destroyed him, someone has to pay the consequences.

Additional Headcanons:

  • Have tried to kill themselves.
    • Allies: China, England, France, Russia
    • Axis: Germany
  • All of them are depressed about your death. Each one is just more severe than the other.
  • It’s likely that Luciano has killed someone innocent. But knowing how emotional he is right now, he wouldn’t know that.
  • Grief can cause someone to hallucinate. It’s likely that they have hallucinated about you, at least once.

How on earth did Hannibal clean his house/office?? Surely not himself, he would never have the time but then who? Epuld he trust someone to do it or is it just one of those storyline holes you should turn the blind eye on?

Some think he would hire a maid/a cleaning service occasionally because he has hired chefs to help him with his dinner parties and with the kitchen being the most intimate room for Hannibal, it makes sense that he may hire people to help him clean the other rooms of his house.

But the chances of someone finding something or poking their nose where they shouldn’t is fairly high when you hire people to clean your murder house/your murder office filled with highly confidential files.

Some also think Hannibal cleans everything himself since time is irrelevant when it comes to Hannibal and all the things he can accomplish in a single day.

(Some think there is a French maid uniform and heels Hannibal has in his closet for special occasions.)

Also, I think there would be a part of him, the part that likes to have his possessions just so and where he goes around straightening books and pens to the ‘correct’ angle, that would find relief and satisfaction in cleaning and may not like strangers touching his stuff and moving things an inch to the left where they do not belong. But cleaning can also be boring and mundane, two things Hannibal does not abide by.

It’s also important to keep in mind this is the same man who on one hand makes elaborate murder tableaus in a single night and on the other hand would rather just stand to the side while Will, Alana, and Abigail scrub the word ‘CANNIBAL’ off the Hobbs’ garage door.

So, in conclusion, I think Hannibal does the majority of his own cleaning, but hires a service for the more mundane and labor intensive chores, like landscaping, window washing, vacuuming/mopping, etc.

well i also disagree with the last unpopular opinion of this anon, like why would hanbin lie about not being in any relationship in the past, i don't see the point like he even make fun of himself bc he've never been in any relationship, he didn't really have time anyway he spent all of his teenage years working so hard. also and not everyone inevitably was in a relationship during their teenage years, even if they're freaking handsome like hanbin is

He joined YGE when he was 13 years old. He lived in the us before that for a few years and he always worked on songs even before he joined YG. He didn’t have one free minute during his trainee years and after debut there was only time for his group, his family and work. So tbvh? I don’t believe he ever even had a real chance to meet someone. Plus the dating ban on top of that. I really hope he’ll find the love of his life one day tho. He really seems like the honest type of guy who would do anything for his babe. I wish he could experience what he always reads in books or sees in movies and dramas.

The Red Robes and the Bureau of Balance are both trying to save the world. I think it’s pretty clear at this point that neither group is evil; it’s just a matter of working from different sets of information and drawing different conclusions about what needs to be done.

The Bureau doesn’t know about the Hunger. All they know is that the Red Robes created these incredibly powerful relics that have caused war and devastation across the world–which is true. And so the Director thinks that her purpose is to protect the world from the Grand Relics and by extension the Red Robes.

However, the Red Robes know about things that are happening on a cosmic scale. They want to try to protect the world from the Hunger, which they have clearly tried and failed to do on other worlds. In one of his first appearances, Barry Redrobes told them “This world is life’s last chance,” so there’s no room for error this time. We don’t know details, but it seems like the creation of the Grand Relics was part of a plan to stave off or defeat the Hunger. They weren’t created to cause destruction–they were created to lock away the entities that are trapped within them, entities which, according to what the Chalice said, used to be one larger, more powerful entity before it was split into seven.

We’ve got a couple of exposition-dumps to go before we know exactly how the Red Robes think they can defeat the Hunger and to what extent the Bureau’s activities have interfered with those plans, but both organizations are more or less on the same side. They just don’t necessarily know it yet.

Waiting is hard. It felt like Jyn had done more waiting in this past week than she had in her whole life. After Scarif, time practically stood still. Things still happened, but here she was, waiting. Cassian was awake. The plans were missing. Then the plans were found, again. The Death Star was coming. The evacuations were in process. Pilots were readying for a battle they had slim chance of winning. Cassian had hobbled off to some briefing somewhere. So Jyn waited, and let her mind wander.

10 Signs You’re an Introvert

1. You find small talk incredibly cumbersome.

Introverts are notoriously small talk-phobic, as they find idle chatter to be a source of anxiety, or at least annoyance. For many quiet types, chitchat can feel disingenuous.

“Let’s clear one thing up: Introverts do not hate small talk because we dislike people,” Laurie Helgoe writes in “Introvert Power: Why Your Inner Life Is Your Hidden Strength.” “We hate small talk because we hate the barrier it creates between people.”

2. You go to parties -– but not to meet people.

If you’re an introvert, you may sometimes enjoy going to parties, but chances are, you’re not going because you’re excited to meet new people. At a party, most introverts would rather spend time with people they already know and feel comfortable around. If you happen to meet a new person that you connect with, great — but meeting people is rarely the goal.

Secrets to Success

1. Move outside your comfort zone and try doing something you’re afraid to do.

2. Don’t overplan your week, year or life. Allow yourself the chance to be taken by surprise.

3. Meet new people and make new friends. It’s an excellent way to grow and learn.

4. Make a note of your thoughts and ideas. They may be creative – and lead to something great.

5. Allow yourself some time for peace and solitude. Being quiet and alone will recharge your batteries – and provides a fertile ground for thinking through your new ideas.

6. Be honest with yourself, and what you want from life …. And what you need to do to make your dreams reality.

7. Show an interest in others, and what’s happening in their life. Reaching out and helping people is part of true success.

8. Have fun. We’re attracted to people who seem to love their life – and since we only get one chance, we might as well enjoy our life!

  • what she says: im fine
  • what she means: in that one episode of sonny with a chance, when sonny created a fake club called "the basement", she told tawni that chad still believed miley and hannah were two different people. this means that both shows existed in the same universe during the same time period. when selena gomez guest-starred in one episode, she played herself, yet she portrayed hannah's archenemy mikayla on hannah montana. lets also recall that hannah and alex russo met on the S.S. TIPTON during the crossover "wizards on deck with hannah montana". so is selena really leading not a double, but a TRIPLE life? and more importantly, what is her real identity? selena, mikayla, or alex?

Two characters from a dream…The Specimen is a tiny worm thing developed in a lab…it’s deeply in love w one of the scientists that spends time with it..

Eventually it gets to a point where it can articulate its feelings, but by then it’s original body is sort of not doing too hot, and it’s unable to move out of its enclosure..unhappy. So, the scientists put it down..but work to sort it back again, using samples of it…

The second body was bigger, and better able to get around, but aged at an alarmingly fast rate..short life.

So, The Scientist tried one more time..and..success!

With each incarnation the specimen could faintly recall past events in its lives…and fell for The Scientist each time, without fail…it was real the time it got to its third chance, said Scientist was much older than it remembered! But that’s fine, it loves her just as much as that first life as a tiny watery grub…

Another Chance

Bucky Barnes x Reader

Summary : There was a severe storm where you were, which delayed your flight. As you sat in the airport, waiting for time to pass, you run into someone who will forever change your life. AU

A/N : Just wanted to make a fluffy Bucky fic. This is a rewrite of one of my other series, Written in the Stars. Hope you enjoy!

Word Count : 2,354

Warning : Fluff and language.

The airport was crowded with strangers. All huddled in, either on their phones or staring at their laptops. Even the kids had a device of their own, eyes glued to the screens as if they were hypnotized.

You sighed playing with the pages of your book. It’s been two hours since you arrived, and you were nowhere near boarding.

The storm was chaotic, and even if you wanted to forget the trip and go back to your warm and comfortable apartment, you couldn’t leave. The roads were closed off around the area. Which only meant, you were stuck.

There was a slight cold breeze, radiating from outside. Creating you to shiver though you were wrapped up in your coat. Not even the body heat around you could keep you warm.

You suddenly remembered passing a coffee shop when you were running to catch your flight. It wasn’t too far, and you were sure it could help pass time.

As you made your way to the coffee shop, you rummaged through your purse, looking for your card.

“Dammit, where is it?” You grumbled to yourself.

Without paying any attention to your surroundings, your body collided right into broad shoulders, almost making you fall. The sound of paper shuffling, and a soft grunt hummed in your ears.

“Crap! I’m so sorry!” You said, hoping you didn’t hurt anyone and bending down to retrieve the papers that fell.

The stranger slightly chuckled, as he hunched over as well to help you. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it.”

His voice made the hairs of your neck stand up. It was low and rough, but slightly kind of intriguing. You slowly looked up, and met the gaze of the most alluring blue eyes you have ever seen. They were warm, but inviting.

He helped you up to your feet, his hand molding with yours, it created a sudden flutter in your stomach.

“T-Thank you.” You stammered.

The man before you was tall, making you crank your neck just to see him. And you definitely took the time to look over him. Your gaze traced over his long messy brunette hair, to his worn combat boots. He was lean, and perhaps well built under that heavy coat that draped over him.

His lips slightly twitched up, flashing you a faint smile. “Are you okay?” He asked, a bit worried.

You snapped out of your daze, and nodded. “Y-Yea, I’m fine. I am so sorry again, I wasn’t paying attention.”

He shrugged his shoulders, his lips curving more by the second. “It’s fine. Trust me. All that matters is that no body got hurt.”

There was something about him that drew you to him, and you couldn’t figure out what it was exactly. But you shook off the thoughts immediately, and cleared your throat.

“Um, here. I believe these are yours.” You muttered, handing over the pile of papers.

As he reached for his belongings, you couldn’t help but glance down. They were drawings of people. Breathtaking silhouettes and portraits.

“Thanks.” He muttered, catching your attention once again. He slipped the papers into his bag, and returned his gaze to you. “I’m James, but people call me Bucky.”

“Y/N.” You smiled. “I’m lame, I don’t have a cool nickname like yours.”

As you both chuckled from your cheesy joke, you couldn’t help but shiver from the cold breeze you felt earlier. It reminded you of what you were doing there in the first place. You glanced behind him at the line and suddenly you thought of something.

“How about I buy you some coffee?” You asked. “Its the least I could do since I plowed right into you.”

Bucky curved his lips, and ran his hand through his long locks. “That’d be great.” He stepped to the side and motioned for you to lead the way.

You could feel his stare though you were a few feet in front of him. It made your heart begin to race, something you haven’t felt in a while.

Finally, you reached to the front of the line. The barista seemed exhausted, and a bit annoyed, but the moment her eyes laid on Bucky’s features, her whole demeanor changed.

“Hi, what can I get tarted for you?” She asked with a flirtatious smile.

“I’ll have a small white chocolate mocha please.” You decided to answer first, just so she knows you were there too.

The barista didn’t give you the time of day, she just punched in your order, and returned her eyes to Bucky. “And for you sir?” She bit her lower lip.

Bucky shifted in his stance, pushing his hair back as he looked over the menu behind her. He was obviously not paying attention to the poor girl, it was kind of entertaining to watch.

“I’ll just have a cup of black coffee, nothing else.” He smiled.

“Of course.”

You gave the barista your card, and paid for the two beverages.

“Thank you.” Bucky whispered, leaning closer to you.

The barista handed your card back, along with your order. With one last glance, you smiled. “No problem.” You stated. “It was nice meeting you.”

Before he had the chance to respond, you started walking toward the back. hoping to find a single seat. You were scanning around, looking from one side to the next, until suddenly a couple got up from the table in the very back by the window, and made there way out of the shop.

“Sweet.” You mumbled to yourself.

Walking over, your phone went off, startling you for a second.

“Hello?” you breathed, placing your purse down onto the table as you took a seat.

“Hi sweetheart, just wondering what the update is.” Your mother asked.

You let out a soft sigh, looking out the fogged window. “Still the same. Looks like this storm is going nowhere.”

“Are you serious? Have you tried another flight, or a cab?!”

“Mom, seriously there’s nothing I can do. I can’t even go home if I wanted too.”

She only but huffed, and you could imagine her roll her eyes as well.

“You can’t miss Christmas. This is the only time we ever get to see you.” She exclaimed.

“I know. I’ll try my best. Okay?”

“Okay sweetheart.” There was a long pause and for a moment, you thought the line had disconnected.

“There’s something I have to tell you.” Your mother said. “Your sister and Todd have decided to show up after all.”

Your heart felt as if it had dropped to the pit of your stomach. Your mothers words played in your head over and over again.

“I didn’t know they would-”

“It’s fine.” You lied. “Look, I have to go. My phone is about to die and all the outlets are being used at the moment. I’ll call you when I leave.”

You heard your mother sigh. “Okay, love you. Be safe.”

“You too.” You ended the conversation abruptly and shoved the phone back into your purse.

Every part of you felt heavy. As the thought of Todd began to make your stomach churn. After all this time, you had hoped not to hear that name again. But here it was. Bringing back all the painful memories you thought you erased.

“Is this seat taken?” A familiar voice rang from behind you.

Looking back, your lips curved into a smile. It was Bucky. The cute stranger from just a few minutes ago.

“No, not at all.”

Bucky smirked, and walked over to the seat across from you. As he plowed down, he placed his bag over his lap, and ran his fingers through his hair. Something he did quite frequently.

“Thanks, all the seats are being used.”

“Aw, and here I thought you were just stalking me.” You teased.

Bucky belted out into laughter, his shoulders bounced up and down. “You caught me!”

“So, where are you off too this Christmas?” You asked. “Let me guess, the Bahamas? Completely opposite from this crappy weather.”

“I wish!” He exclaimed. “But I am actually returning back from visiting my Sister and niece. I was hoping to catch a cab but the storm decided otherwise.”

“Why didn’t you stay for Christmas?”

Bucky shrugged his shoulders, taking a quick sip of his black coffee. Immediately burning his lip. “My sister wanted to spend the holidays with our father and lets just say he and I don’t get along too well.”

You glanced down at your hands, feeling like a prude for asking him too many questions. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have-”

“Its okay.” He cut you off. “What about you?”

You decided to act on the sudden subject change and not ask anymore questions about his family. “Well, I am visiting my parents back home. It’s the only time we get to see each other really, so I try to make an effort to visit them. Though I wish I could skip out this year.”

Bucky tilted his head, as he leaned back into his chair, lingering on every word that fell from your lips.

“My sister and her boyfriend are going to be there, and I definitely don’t want to see them.” You exhaled. “Her boyfriend is my Ex.”

“Oh.” Was all Bucky could say. He didn’t know how to react to something like that. The pain in your voice was so distinct, he could see just how much it hurt you. And though he wanted to know more, he didn’t want to force you into talking about anything you weren’t comfortable with.

“But anyways, enough with the family drama.” You chuckled. “I noticed your drawings earlier. They’re really amazing.”

He swallowed hard, clenching his jaw tightly as he held his gaze with yours. His drawings were something personal to him. Something he never shared with anyone because it was just a way to escape from reality.

“Can I see them?” You asked.

“Thanks, but they aren’t finished.”

“Well from what I saw, I thought they were breathtaking.”

He took another sip of his drink as well as you. The first sip felt so soothing as it went down. Definitely what you needed.

Both you and Bucky talked for what seemed like forever. You learned a lot about him. From his favorite book, to the cute little childhood stories. You both shared so much about your lives, you were beginning to feel as if you had known the guy all your life.

He made your stomach hurt from laughing, and your cheeks ache from smiling so much. But it was the best few hours you’ve had with a guy since Todd.

“Okay, serious question.” Bucky muttered, pushing his hair back.

“Uh oh! Here it goes.” You chuckled.

“If your house was on fire and you had-” He paused and shrugged as he came up with a number. “And you had 60 seconds, what would you take?”

You were taken aback, furrowing your brows as your locked your gaze with his. “What?” You breathed.

“If your house was-”

“Yeah, no. I heard you, I just-I don’t know. I never thought about it.” You whispered.

Bucky opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by the loud sound of a woman’s voice speaking through the intercom. She was informing everyone that the storm had passed, and it was time to begin boarding passengers.

You swung your legs and hopped out of the chair, and pulled your purse over your shoulder. “Man, i didn’t even get to enjoy my White Chocolate Mocha!”

Bucky propped up on his feet as well, looking a bit bummed from the quick end to the conversation. “Guess thats you?” He asked.

You nodded and forced a smile. “Yep. Off to spend some quality time with my awesome family.”

“If your mom made that oh so amazing apple pie you talked so highly about, I’m sure it’ll be one hell of a trip.” He winked, making you snort with laughter.

“Fingers crossed.”

“It was nice to meet you, even if it were just a few hours.” He smiled. “I had a great time.”

“Me too. I enjoyed hearing your crazy stories about You and your best friend-Steve right?”

Bucky nodded, answering your question without a single word.

“You guys are crazy.” You chuckled, reaching your hand out to him to shake.

This was it, you had to say goodbye to the stranger that somehow made you feel happy in such a short amount of time. Bucky reached for your hand, and pulled you into him. Giving you a gentle hug. He was warm, and so comfortable, you couldn’t help but feel safe in his arms. As if you were meant to be exactly right where you were.

You barely knew one another, but somehow, you both felt such a strong connection. Like a pull you both couldn’t escape from. As he held you close to him, Bucky was trying to find the courage to kiss you. Every part of him feigned for that touch, since the moment you bump into him. He was so mesmerized by you, it was insane. But he was too late to make his move.

Clearing your throat, you took a step back, pulling yourself away from him. Though a part of you didn’t want to leave. “Well I ought to be leaving. Don’t wanna miss my flight.” You said awkwardly.

“Yeah, of course.” Bucky smiled.

“Goodbye, and good luck with everything.”

You turned on your heels and made your way to the terminal. Leaving Bucky behind, with his thoughts running wild. He watched you until you faded into the crowd, until you were no longer visible.

“Good job.” He mumbled to himself.

Bucky reached for his belongings, until something caught his eye. And in that moment, as he reached for your phone that laid still on the table, a little pinch of hope sparked inside of him. Maybe this was fate giving him another chance? or maybe it was just coincidence. He wasn’t sure. But he knew one thing for sure, he wasn’t going to mess this up again.

Without giving it a second thought, Bucky ran after you.

I need to focus and concentrate on what I’ve worked so hard for over the last 5 years. I’m constantly overwhelmed by anxiety and fear that if I don’t buckle down now, in a few years time, I will be in a shit position with a head full of regrets, and all the people who have sacrificed and put their life aside for my dream will leave me. I’ve been so disrespectful, not putting in 100% in this venture because I’m mentally elsewhere, but fuck alla that. You only have one chance in life, and the universe surrounds you with many opportunities to reach it but over the last 3 years I’ve allowed myself to become distracted and a victim of procrastination. It sucks and I’m disappointed in myself. I let my guard down, I allowed life to interfere with my vision and tbh shit has just been a blur lately.
Love, death, debt, family issues, illnesses all of this shit, constantly, no breaks, one after the other. It’s too much. This year I’m minding my business and I’m focusing on myself. We are all adults and I’m not putting my shit second ever again. We are all accountable for our lives. I hustle and grind so hard, i don’t have anyone to fall back on, I don’t have avenues and options, if I don’t work I don’t eat, I depend solely on myself, and so do you! We are stronger than we believe and I have the utmost strength to get myself through anything. I have created an amazing life for myself by following my dreams and I will always encourage and support my loved ones to do the same, but I’m no longer allowing anything to stress and distract me. Im beyond focused. So if you think that I’m going to lose my shit over nonsense you must be crazy. My mother was born in a shack in South Trinidad, I have so many people to prove RIGHT. My fucking family over there are rooting for me! All of my cousins are doing great things, we are making our parents proud! So anything that costs me my peace is too expensive because it means losing my future, losing my family’s happiness, losing my business, losing my life and nothing is worth that. I’d rather die.
2017 is the year to be selfish, to focus on self improvement and to encourage prosperity. Nothing else.

Seems to be a lot of hatred for “Rocknaldo” online immediately after its air date. Some people are just pissed that a CN promo made them think we’d be meeting a new Gem instead of watching Ronaldo choose a Gem nickname (I didn’t believe we’d be getting a new Gem for a second, given the style of the tease). But most of it’s just Ronaldo hate in general. Ronaldo’s a jerk, etc. Well yeah. He’s a jerk.

But here’s why I think this episode is important. Not Ronaldo’s redemption / apology / stating outright that he was wrong, though that’s good too. Not Steven giving chances to people for trying to understand, though again that’s good too. It’s important because in a simplified way, this brought to light how people who claim to want to understand us and help us can frequently engage in self-serving, counterproductive behavior.

I can’t even count the times in my life that someone “interested in” one of the several marginalized communities I’m part of has committed to a poorly organized, cursory study of my outsider group and then confronted me with claims that they understand what I should be doing better than I do. This is how I should handle my activism. This is the way I should prioritize my goals. This is a behavior or perspective of mine that’s alienating “normal” people like them. They accuse us of hypocrisy or misguidedness because they think it isn’t working if it’s not designed to serve and center them, and then they claim they have a better grasp of my mission than I do.

But this is my whole life. These are our whole lives.

Perspectives from outside are usually welcome, but not at the expense of ours. Not in place of and prioritized over lived experience. They should be learning from us, not striding in and telling us as an ally, they know better than we do what would forward our cause and what would bring us all together for good. Ronaldo in this episode is the worst kind of false ally. He came into Steven’s life with a so-called interest in what the Crystal Gems do, but applied his own ideas of what they’re like:

  • Expecting to be “issued” a Gem
  • Telling Steven he should be proud and show off his Gemstone even though he had misgivings about it
  • Focusing on how “cool” he sounded with his new label
  • Challenging more established members as to whether they really belonged there
  • Explicitly accusing established members of having false and invalid reasons for being included
  • Forcing himself to conform to imagined standards of the group even though they weren’t natural for him (not sleeping), then bragging about how Real Crystal Gem it made him
  • Responding to challenges by telling an established member that HE needed to go think about his validity to the group

These are all fake ally techniques most of us have seen with people who aren’t REALLY here about forwarding the cause. They give it a cursory study (if that), they slap a star on their shirt and use a new name, and they seek to climb the ranks of legitimacy by knocking down people “above” them who have done their time. Are you sure you really care about this mission? Don’t I seem to have a considered opinion because I’m being critical? Aren’t you really being the hypocrites by claiming you want to help and protect humanity but not accepting ME as I twist your mission statement to fit my agenda? The agenda, of course, just like with Ronaldo, is making THEM feel good.

If they truly understood, they would apprentice themselves to those for whom THIS IS THEIR WHOLE LIFE, and they would listen FAR more than they would talk. This is not only a way to offer respect and deference to their expertise; it is EFFECTIVE. It is the best way to get an education about what actually helps in a cause. Your ideas may be valuable and your questions are worth asking, but as a person who is perhaps trying to enter a movement alongside those whose very lives are consumed by it, you must listen hard, and listen first.

Ronaldo still doesn’t totally get it at the end. He thinks the real problem is he’s just too much of an outsider, even for outsiders. At least he’s closer to the truth now and isn’t actively spreading harmful lies, but well-meaning allies who don’t listen can still be more hurt than help. He seems happy emphasizing the imagined mystique that comes with being the “ultimate outsider,” but really, he’s a person who wants a cause more than he actually cares about any causes.

The Ronaldos of this world want to have done but don’t want to do. They want to skip to the part where they’re the hero of the battle, but not have to be humbled by the long hours and days of injuries, practice, concentration, and dedication. They want glory, and they have the mainstream perspective that they must be aggressive, confident, and competitive against others on their same side before they’ll come out on top. If you are an outsider to a movement and you truly want to be an ally, you must know why. Ronaldo couldn’t have answered the first question about what the Crystal Gems fight for. He never demonstrated that he could be trusted with the answer, though Steven was tolerant enough to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt.

A good lesson I took from this episode is this: If a Ronaldo is trying to infiltrate your inner circle and he’s already billing himself as an expert above people with more life experience, keep in mind that he is there to make everything about your movement conform to an ideology that serves HIM, and if necessary he will warp it and turn it against the people who are living it. And even if you’re part of a movement but have some similarities to Ronaldo—like Steven sharing Ronaldo’s experience of having an organic body and not being trusted on missions at first—don’t let a superficial similarity be misinterpreted as a substitute for authentic lived experience on the axis you’re examining here.

Invite new allies slowly, with caution, the way Steven and later the other Gems began to welcome Connie into the fold after she demonstrated solidarity, respect, and patience. If they show up on your doorstep with a suitcase and they’re asking why THEY don’t get your mother’s sword within a day, that is a red flag. They will divide and damage your core team in search of personal glory, and if you can’t get them to curb this behavior and sit down, you may have to turn them away for your own safety. Don’t let them take the glory from you, and if you do that, they will find a “better” cause that serves their REAL agenda soon enough.

Mini road trips are one of my favorite things and they’re so important for me and my mental health because it gives me a lot of me time to jam out and dance and just have fun with myself but also because it gives me the chance to process a lot of whatever’s happening in my head and in my life, in a situation where I still have to maintain enough focus and attention on the road that I can’t get over emotional or go on overthinking spirals. Feeds my soul a bit.

Kepler 452-b - “Second Earth”

Kepler 452-b is 4-8 billion years old and found 1400 light years away orbiting a G2 type star which is very similar to our sun. It’s orbit is very similar to earth which puts it in the goldilocks zone meaning there is a much greater chance of it containing liquid water which is one of the keys to life. A year on 452-b is 385 days and the planet is about 5% further away from its star than we are from our sun as well as being about the same temperature. Scientists believe it could have the type of climate that supports clouds, oceans and extremely active volcanos.

452-b is about 6 times as massive as earth making the gravity twice as strong. This means any life on the planet would likely be very stocky and we would have a difficult time adjusting to feeling like we were twice our weight. The star it orbits is also 20% brighter than ours and the planet absorbs about 10% more energy than ours.

Yuri!!! on Ice Episode 10 - Anime vs Reality

So, me and my friend @nimurun live near Barcelona, so we did a tour of the locations from Yuri on Ice episode 10! The photos were taken during the day, so they don’t quite look the same, but it gives a general feel of the place ^^

Here are some of our favourites, with a side by side comparison from the anime:

First stop, Sagrada Familia, where my baby Pitchit took his selfie xD Victuuri were also here!

The hotel the skaters stayed in is called Hotel Princess and it’s on Avinguda Diagonal. Lots of conferences are held there and if you look it up on Google Images you’ll find pictures of the pool where Victor and Chris were hanging out!

Unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to go inside and take pictures of the lobby, but maybe next time we will ^^

Next up was the Fira de Santa Llucia! This one looked pretty different in real life: the font has change and there were no decorations hanging behind it.

Unfortunately we couldn’t find Maria Dolores, the shop where Yuuri buys the rings and when we asked around we were told it didn’t exist :(

There used to be a jewelers in the square called Majorica, but it’s closed down now.

The final stop (for now) was by far the most important: La Catedral del Mar a.k.a. the place where VICTUURI GOT ENGAGED AJAIDHPUEQFJGUCFG (still not over it xD)

Again the anime wasn’t quite accurate, but pretty close. While we were here we met another group of Yuri on Ice fans from Barcelona who acted out the scene! They were so cute! >.<

The gates were open do it’s so it’s not quite right >.<

You can’t see in this image but people were looking at us funny lol

Near the Cathedral we found this Restaurant:

The name of the restaurant ranslates to “Victor’s Cafe”! XD

It’s literally right next to the cathedral, to the right, but unfortunately we’re poor so we couldn’t afford to eat there (T^T)

UPDATE!! @the-wintry-mizzenmast has informed me that Maria Dolores is actually a shop called Carrera y Carrera!

Thank you so much for the info, will try to go there soon and that more photos! ^^

[note: reposted from Facebook]

Hi everyone, as you probably know, the CIC website has been down since the 2016 election results due to a sudden flood of people accessing it. This is a really bad thing, because it affects those who are in the middle of immigrating or helping loved ones immigrate to Canada.

A personal friend of mine has spent hundreds of hours, travelled thousands of miles, and spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to get paperwork and documents and health checks together to prepare for their spouse’s application for permanent residency in Canada. Because of the website going down, they were unable to upload their documents for their application, and since this is a very time sensitive process, if they can’t get access soon, they may lose this one chance to finally be able to have a life with their spouse. It’s a very difficult process to begin with- an application could be denied just because the assessing officer was having a bad day. Not being able to upload documents on time would make everything worse.

Please, PLEASE, if you don’t have an actual legitimate reason to go to the CIC website, please refrain from visiting it in order to keep it available for those who are really counting on it being accessible.

Please share and pass on this message to everyone. It would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Maybe you and I were never meant to be together. We had our chances to be together, but the time was never right. I know that we are still both young, but what if I have lost my chance to be with you because I was too scared to admit what I felt about you?
