one female character a day

fangirl challenge: [6/10] female characters   Penelope Álvarez

There are persecuted people all around the world who would love the opportunity to come here, but they can’t. Because the rules are different for different people. So some of them break the law and they do what they have to do to fight for better lives for themselves and their families.
And you know what? I get it.

Happy International Women’s Day, all my lovely doves!
It seems like an appropriate day to finally show you my submission piece for Celebration Orlando (which didn’t get chosen - but I’m gonna keep trying). I think a big part of what’s kept me enthralled with Star Wars over the course of my life is how many amazing women are depicted in this universe, and it’s never made to be a big deal. Women are just as capable, inspiring, exciting as the male characters, and that’s just the way it is. Super love to all my Star Wars ladies (and all the EU ladies who I didn’t get to include here, but wanted to).

I may do a super-limited, teeny-tiny Etsy/convention-exclusive print run on this - perhaps without the text- just because I still love it, and I want it as a physical object.

A woman’s place is in the resistance. Keep blowing shit up, y’all.

anonymous asked:

Hi! I love your blog! Can I make a request? MC's child comes home after being bullied in school and tried to hide it! How do the RFA(Saeran+V) think or do after finding out their child is being bullied?

( `ε´ ) I’ve def had to be mc in a few of these situations for my lil bro.

Zen

- It took a while before the two of you noticed. Your daughter always came home from school smiling and hugging the both of you.

- It was a normal habit that you would help her with her homework, but tonight as you helped her look for it, tears sprang in her eyes.

- “Aw, honey, did you accidentally leave it at school? It’s okay, accidents happen. We can try and email your teacher, okay?”

- When she kept crying, that’s when you got worried and started asking her what was wrong.

- After a few attempts at calming herself, she messily blubbered out that the kids at school had thrown her homework away again.

- Again?? What??

- You start cuddling her in your lap, rubbing her back as she sobs. “What do you mean? Honey, are the other kids bothering you?”

- She explains how they bully her- Throwing away her homework and calling her names. They won’t even play with her at recess anymore. And apparently it’s due to her white hair and eyes.

- When Zen comes home to find both of his girls looking upset while cuddling on the couch, he’s instantly ready to Fight.

- After calming your daughter down, the two of you let her play in her room while the two of you talk. You explaining everything to Zen.

- He Is Pissed. He wants to give a piece of his mind to the parents and their kids while you want a more peaceful approach.

- It’s not that you’re not mad, you’re fucking pissed too, but you need to be levelheaded about this if you want something done.

- So on a day you know Zen is busy, you set up a meeting with her teacher to discuss what is happening. You manage to resolve the situation, saying that if it keeps up you will be talking to the principal, but otherwise it should be taken care of.

- Later that day the two of you take your daughter out for a nice outing to take her mind off of things, constantly telling her how much the two of you love her.

Jumin

- The two of you noticed your son was a bit more irritable than usual. Nowadays he just instantly went to his room after school, only coming out for dinner.

- Jumin was worried instantly. More than you because you just thought it was part of him growing up.

- Jumin ended up going and trying to talk to him but….Unfortunately, your son was a big momma’s boy… He hardly would talk to Jumin.

- After Jumin getting a bit annoyed, you kissed him on the cheek and took a try at getting your son to talk.

- You popped in and tried making a silly face, which made him try to keep acting stern and hide his giggle.

- You sat on his bed and ruffled his hair, asking him why he was so angry lately.

- “The other kids keep laughing at me because my math scores are low… That I won’t  be able to be as smart as dad when I grow up…”

- Is this how rich kids made fun of eachother? You asked him how smart he thought your were.

- “Super smart! You always know what to do.”

- Pfft. You laughed a bit and explained that when you were younger, your math scores were terrible. You even had gotten a failing grade in one class before.

- His eyes nearly popped out of his head. “What??”

- It was easy sailing from there. You managed to cheer him up pretty quickly, and soon he was fussing about how the other kids had no idea what they were talking about.

- (Yeah…He was Jumin’s son alright…)

- After the talk ended, you left to explain what happened to Jumin. He instantly wanted to take this up with the school board (Jumin calm, jeez), but you talked him out of that quickly.

- It wasn’t any hardcore bullying, and soon your son started perking up after school.

Jaehee

- Sometimes when your son came home, he’d be a bit teary-eyed. Just once in a while, and he usually said he was just sleepy and needed a nap.

- When it started happening nearly every day, you felt something was wrong.

- Everything was confirmed when you decide to meet him where his bus lets him off, and you hear the other kids jeering at him.

- As soon as the two of you get inside, you give him a big hug and call Jaehee over.

- “Sweetie, what’s happening? Are you okay?”

- He ends up breaking down and talking about how the other kids make fun of him on the bus. They’re all older and tease him constantly push him around.

- Jaehee instantly wants to talk to the school and figure out why in the world this is allowed, but you end up taking matters into your own hands.

- The next day you wait for your son to get off the bus, and before the bus doors can close you call out to the bus driver.

- After a stern lecture and a few curses when you weren’t taken seriously, you finally got the situation settled when you threatened to bring it up with the school board and possibly get the driver fired.

- (Jaehee is v impressed)

- Afterwards, Jaehee makes him a frappe while all of you go out and buy him a few new toys.

Yoosung

- Your daughter grew up in a very….geeky home.

- She was introduced to games and the like very early on, and wore a lot of clothing related to the stuff.

- She normally didn’t have a problem about it, but one day she ended up coming home from school, trying to stop herself from crying.

- The two of you were on her in an instant, gently asking what had happened.

- “Mommy, why couldn’t I be like the other girls??”

-….?? What??

- Apparently, the kids in her class were making fun of her for not wearing make-up or dressing all girly like the girls in her class

- (She’s…Too young for make-up!)

- You’re upset, but surprisingly Yoosung is very calm about the situation.

- He ends up getting on his knees and holding your daughter’s shoulders.

- He asks her about certain female characters in games, the ones that saved the day and was the heroines of the games she had played.

- “Do you think they cared what others thought of them?”

- “N-No…”

- “That’s right. Even when others made fun of them, told them they couldn’t save the galaxy, they didn’t care! They kept their head up and kept on going!”

-Oh my god.

- But…It was helping. Your daughter slowly stopped crying, and then she stomped her foot down.

- “I’m going to be just like Shepard!!” She shouted, balling her fists up and looking stern. “Fuck those guys!”

- Omg, no, sweetie.

- Now it was your turn for a talk on how she wasn’t ready to say words like that (Gdi Yoosung)

- Regardless, in the end, Yoosung’s little pep talk ended up helping her ignore the kids teasing her.

Seven

- Any child of Seven’s was bound to grow up just as quirky as he was.

- Your daughter loved computers and robots, and mainly boy related things, but she was funny as well.

- Just not funny like the kids her age was used too. Mainly..’Seven’ funny…

- She usually got along with others well. She was able to make them laugh, and she had a few friends.

- But one day over dinner, she opened up about a boy calling her weird and ugly.

- The two of you instantly stopped eating, ready to shower her with compliments and assurances that she wasn’t any of that.

-…But apparently she didn’t need that. “It’s okay, I just kicked him in the shin and he shut up.”

- Oh my god. Seven busted out laughing, but you ended up telling her not to kick anyone again if she could help it.

- Soon, she began opening up about the ways the kids tried bullying her.

- “He called me weird, so I turned around and called him illiterate. He looked really confused, so I was all ‘Sorry, i thought we were stating the obvious.’”

- Seven laughed every time, and the two of you were proud she wasn’t letting the other kids bother her too much. She was going to grow up very strong-willed.

V

- The two of you thought everything was fine until your son had a huge attitude one night. He even started yelling at V! Something he never did!

- “Everyone was right! You’re just as dumb as you look!!” And bam, he ran to his room in a fit of tears.

- Both you and V were very confused. (V even asked if he was wearing his shirt wrong or something.)

- Slowly, you entered your son’s room, calmly asking if you could talk to him.

- After him hugging a pillow to death, he finally said all the kids were making fun of him for his dad being blind.

- (Why are kids so mean??)

- “Why can’t he go get his eyes fixed already? Does he just not want to see me?”

- Aw baby… You hugged him close and just told him how V couldn’t really have his eyes fixed like that. And he could see, just a bit, but it was harder on him now that time had passed.

- He ended up crying for a while from stress, from the kids bullying him, from his dad not being able to see well.

- After a while when he calmed down, you let him sleep as you went and explained everything to V.

- He felt a bit guilty that his son felt that way, but you were quick to explain it was just due to all the stress of the bullying.

- The next day, after school, all three of you sat and had a big family talk. Mainly V talking, but you all sorted out any misconceptions. The talk ended up making your son hug onto V and cry and apologize, but at least a few things were settled.

- The rest of the talk was giving advice to your son. To tell the teachers when this happened, to tell the principal or you two if it got worse, a few tips on how to handle it.

- During the weekend, V ended up making a call to ‘Uncle Jumin’ and being able to spoil your son for the weekend to cheer him up.

Saeran

- Every time your daughter had to go to school, be picked up early, dropped off late, you were the one who always took her.

- You never really thought anything of it, but one day she asked why her dad never did so.

- Honestly…You just never asked him, you were fine doing it yourself, and he didn’t mind either.

- “The other kids don’t think I have a dad…”

- (Kid logic…)

- You ended up laughing, but when you noticed she looked sad about it, you quickly stopped.

- “Does dad not like seeing me?”

- Aw, baby. The kids had her thinking her dad didn’t like her.

- After reassuring her that her dad was just a bit shy, you sent her to bed and talked to Saeran about it.

- He just said the two of you would start taking turns.

- So the next day, you let Saeran pick her up from school while you went out grocery shopping.

- You weren’t expecting a phone call, but you answered it as you shopped.

- “Yeah, uh… I don’t think they kids are going to say anything anymore.”

- ???

- Apparently, the kids saw him and instantly clammed up. Your daughter even ended up sticking her tongue out at them after she hugged her dad.

- Oh my god. The two of you laughed about it.

- “So, are you guys home?”

- “Oh, no. I stopped by the ice cream parlor-”

- “What? No! Saeran! Dinner!! Don’t ruin her appetite!”

- “….Can we push dinner an hour?”

- “God damnit.”

anonymous asked:

do you know any good Yuri visual novels?

Yes I do anon. Yes I do. In fact, I wrote a great response to you with links and pictures and descriptions and funny commentary. But then my computer was an ass hole and I lost it all. Now I’m bitter, but I still want to share these awesome yuri games with you. So I’m gonna keep it shorter on my blurbs and trust that you can google stuff on your own and hopefully my response won’t get deleted this time. Also, I’ll be including dating sims/otome games in this list too, just to give you some variety.

1. Sono Hanabira Ni Kuchizuke Wo (A Kiss for the Petals)

The epitome of the yuri visual novel game franchise. Very cute, very NSFW and great voice acting. There are currently 13 games in the original series, plus drama cds, mini novels, an OVA, two spinoff series, a separate game available on Steam and so much more. I have played games 1-8 and loved every second of them, though my fave couples are Kaede/Sara and Eris/Shizuku. The 11th game in the series is the longest, with a main route for Risa and Miya and then spinoff routes for all the other couples. All the other games are focused on one couple. Since there is so much content in this franchise it’s hard for me to put everything you may want to know in one concise blurb so please feel free to send me questions or ask for links to things!

2. Kindred Spirits on the Roof

As much as I have been dying to play this game, I still haven’t had the chance yet. Seriously, I have wanted to play this game since the PV was first released. Now that it’s finally licensed, translated and available on Steam I can play it but only once I get the money *cries gay tears* The story for this is super cute but has quite a few NSFW elements. A high school girl helps two ghosts on her school’s roof play matchmaker with other girls in the school so they can create a yuritopia and fulfill their dying wish of consummating their love. I’ve heard amazing things about this game and I can’t wait to play it.

3. Huniepop

This game is more of a dating sim than a visual novel but it’s really fun. And hilarious. And NSFW. It’s available on Steam and is fully voice acted. You can play as either a male or female who, with the help of a love fairy named Kyu, tries to have sex with all the women in town. And since there are only 8 women in town, your goals are totally achievable. There’s pretty decent diversity in this game, and by that I mean there are 4 WOC and they all have different personalities. There are also 4 unlockable characters that are super fun to play too. Keep in mind though that this game was written with male players in mind so some of the writing is a bit…weird or offensive. But all in all, I think this game is definitely worth the money, especially if you buy it now during Steam’s summer sale.

4. Astoria: Fate’s Kiss

Do you want to be able to date fictional people on your phone?!?! Yes? Me too! Do you want both a female AND a nonbinary option? YES? Me too! Do you want the story to be filled with action and magic powers and Greek Mythology??? YES TO ALL?!?! Then this is the game for you! It’s a decent mix between a dating sim and a visual novel, with two ending routes available for each story. The female option is Medusa, a kind and gentle woman who used to be a mob boss and the nonbinary option is Alex Cyprin, your very cute and charming boss. I’m actually behind on Medusa’s route because life and money *cries more gay tears* but what I have played is 10/10. AND you eventually get to get married!!!!! There are a few NSFW moments but a majority of the game is SFW. The writers put so much heart into these characters and the art is great and it’s definitely worth the money for all the content you get. It’s easily found in the app store! Highly recommend it.

5. Gangsters in Love

This is a game by the same people who make Astoria and it is just… the best. Trust me. The plot is: you’re kidnapped by some gangsters who claim your parents are up to some bad shit. You then choose a gangster to look after you while you are under their protection. There’s only one female option but she is worth every penny. Aurora James is the sexy, super gay hustler for the Valentine Gang and she won’t let you forget it. I swear, reading some of her dialogue has almost killed me it’s that gay. Like Astoria, this game is full of action and hilarity, just minus the Greek Myths. Again, the writers are awesome, the art is awesome and it is totally worth the money.

6. Sugar’s Delight

I won’t sugar coat it (ha!), this game is purely smut. But it’s a visual novel and I’ve played it so I figured I should put it on the list. In this game you’re a girl who dreams of owning a cafe and you get a job at Sugar’s Delight to learn the ropes. The cafe owner slowly but surely starts putting the moves on you. It’s not a terrible game but it’s not amazing either. I mean the art is cute and it’s fluffy and harmless. My biggest problem with it is…how to say this…um…they put a lot of edible things where edible things shouldn’t go. And I get it. It can be totally sexy to eat an entire slice of cake out of another woman’s vagina. But the whole time it’s happening in the story I’m just cringing in fear of how much that’s gonna suck for the girl who had the pastry in her pussy. I can’t really focus on how hot it is when I’m feeling second hand yeast infection anxiety. But other than that, it’s pretty cute.

7. A Little Lily Princess

I haven’t played this but oh my gosh do I want to. It’s a pretty new release on Steam so I haven’t been able to read much about it from other player’s perspectives either. It looks so adorable and sweet, plus the art is very similar to the art of Akiko Morishima, one of the yuri mangaka godessess. The game play looks multifaceted and fun with a nice ojou-sama type feel that I can always get behind. I’ll totally try to write a review when I finally play it!

8. Pacthesis Dating Sims

Okay, so this is a flashback into the depths of my teenage years. Like “these games helped me come to terms with my homosexuality” kind of depths. I at least wanted to mention the creator. Pacthesis is an artist on deviantart who made these dating sims that I used to play when I was younger; you were a girl and you had a few male options. Then low and behold, one day she adds a female character option to a game and I’m like “Yes???? Yes.YES!” And then my whole life got very gay from there. These games are cute and easy to play and SFW. I think only three of Pacthesis’s games have female options (Chrono Days, Lunar Days and Number Days) but they’re super creative and have a special place in my heart. Check them out if you can.

I think that’s about it. I mean, there are a few other games I’ve heard of here and there that have yuri/ wlw couples but none that I’ve played or can name off the top of my head right now. I hope that my followers take the time to check out some of these games. They’re all worth the time and money, in my opinion!

If there are any yuri type games I didn’t mention here that people think I should play, I would love recs! Also, if anyone has an questions or wants a more in depth review of a certain game, like one of the Sono Hana’s, I’d be happy to oblige. I can also help find you links if you need :) Just shoot me an ask! May the yuri be with you!

Fuel to the Rivamika fire - A Rivamika shitpost 🔥

Shipping Rivamika has been a journey with ups and downs, but definitely a lot more ups than downs. Looking back, I can’t help but feel like Isayama has been constantly blessing us with huge motivators to ship our OTP. So I’m going to list 8 big things Isayama has done for our ship ever since it started out as a small crack ship. You could say this is a Rivamika timeline in a nutshell to remind you why shipping Rivamika is so amazing!

⛽ 🔥. Chapter 30

Before this chapter, people crack-shipped Levi and Mikasa because of their parallels as the strongest soldiers in their group, because of Mikasa’s initial animosity towards him (ahh, love-hate relationships are the best) and because they were the most popular male and female characters in SNK respectively. One day, Isayama decided to dish out some fanservice by making these interact and fight together as well as having Levi keep Mikasa from harm’s way not once but twice. I’ve lost count of how many shipping tropes I spotted in this chapter alone, but oh did they kickstart our ship in the best way imaginable?!

⛽ 🔥🔥. The first databook & Chapter 37

Levi worried about Mikasa as much as Eren. This one came as a surprise to the (still few and far between) Rivamika shippers of that time, since Levi’s relationship with Eren was much more developed than his relationship with Mikasa. It seemed like Isayama put this detail in out of nowhere, since Levi’s only real interaction with Mikasa besides chapter 30 was during Eren’s trial and when he saved EMA at the end of the Trost Arc.

But then we remembered the databook came out AFTER chapter 37 was released… And it all started to make sense! Yet, it still seemed that Isayama wanted us to know there was something else going on with these two. What if Levi knew something else about Mikasa? Fuel to the fire.

⛽ 🔥🔥🔥. The Uprising Arc

The Female Titan and Clash of the Titans arcs came and went by and the only conclusion we got to the developments of chapter 30 were MIkasa’s acknowledgement of Levi’s abilities, her regret for indirectly causing his leg injury and her promise to keep her emotions in check and not making a blunder again. Rivamika shippers were satisfied with that, because for a crack ship that was more than enough material and development. Most of the Rivamika fics from that time started from that point in the story, building a trusting relationship between the two. But then came the Uprising Arc, and that’s when Rivamika shed its crack ship status for good…

… because starting from chapter 53, Rivamika fans finally got what they’ve wanted for so long - not only Mikasa reciprocated Levi’s concern for her, we got Rivamika fighting side-by-side in not just one, but multiple battles, building trust and camaraderie between themselves, just like everyone dreamed of! But that was too good to be true, right? Because soon came the…

  💦 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥. Chapter 56 - The Ackerman reveal

…and it came as a shock to everyone, shippers or not. Sure, Levi and Mikasa were similar because of their unparalleled battle prowess, but everyone thought it was just pure coincidence or that, at most, it had something to do with the special “Asian bloodline” (now known as the East Sea Clan bloodline). No one could’ve guessed Levi and Mikasa would be related through the other side of her family! With the (huge) possibility of these two being closely related, romantic Rivamika went under heavy attack and was practically considered sunk. On the other hand, a lot of shippers like me who were in for more than the romantic aspect of their relationship were very excited about this chapter’s revelation, because Isayama finally gave Levi and Mikasa a deeper connection in the story, something new for them to relate to - with endless possibilities ahead!

⛽ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Chapter 63 - The Ackertalk

This was the chapter every Rivamika shipper was waiting for since the Levi Ackerman reveal - the (prelude to the) Ackertalk, a.k.a. Levi and Mikasa talking about their past and their Ackerman connection. It was a very intimate scene that made the other characters feel out of place at that time, and despite the Ackerman reveal, it fueled the flames of our ship again! Sadly, they didn’t get to finish that conversation - yet.

⛽ 🔥?. The Live-Action movie trailer

Let’s be honest, the live-action movie was bad, and Shikishima (pseudo-Levi) didn’t compare to Levi. But back when the movie trailer was released, we didn’t know (or care about) that. Pseudo-Levi and Mikasa kissed, and that’s all that mattered. RivaShikimika was officially the first ship to kiss in the SNK universe, even if it wasn’t in canon, but a spin-off. As you can imagine, the fandom went nuts (both sides of it).

⛽ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Chapter 65 & The second databook

Following up on the huge fanservice that was chapter 64 - Rivamika fighting side-by-side, covering each other’s backs *dreamy sigh* - Isayama finally graced us with a very important flashback about both Levi and Mikasa’s bloodlines. The “Asian bloodline” was just as special as the Ackerman Clan (?!?) - fuel to the Rivamika fire! Most importantly, Grandpa Ackerman’s words implied that Levi and Mikasa were third cousins at the closest, since it seemed his family branched out at least before or during his father’s time. Romantic Rivamika was back in the game and stronger than ever. But for many people that wasn’t enough to stop the incest argument, right?

…because as if Isayama hadn’t made himself clear enough with chapter 65, the second databook’s release ended the incest argument once and for all with the inclusion of the Ackerman/East Sea Clan family tree, confirming that Levi and Mikasa were indeed third cousins at the closest.

⛽ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The Ackerbowl

Cue the Return to Shiganshina Arc. Rivamika was still in the game, but they didn’t interact nearly as much as in the Uprising Arc. We didn’t get any Ackertalk, either. Now, every Rivamika shipper (or not!) at some point wished Levi and Mikasa would test their skills against each other, be it sparring or, in the worst case scenario, a serious fight. Levi and Mikasa still had some leftover tension between them from what happened at Eren’s trial, after all. The serumbowl was the match that lit that fire.

It was the worst case scenario. Levi had made Mikasa cry. But it was also everything Rivamika shippers wanted. Not only did we get multiple sexy shots of our ship struggling for the serum box ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, they avoided hurting each other and in the end Mikasa got Levi’s message and was later forgiven by him when he told her to not make him regret his decision. Isayama gave us the most emotionally charged battle we could possibly have wished for between these two, adding much needed drama fuel to our ship.

⛽ 🔥x∞. The 4-year time skip

A new story arc started and the Walldians were nowhere in sight! But the news that four years had passed since the last Battle of Shiganshina kept us avidly reading SNK months later, hoping to see everyone grown up.

For us, that meant Mikasa was now 19-20. Not only it would be acceptable for Mikasa to be in an adult relationship, the age difference between Levi and Mikasa would become less significant as she aged. Suddenly, there was nothing stopping a possible romantic Rivamika relationship anymore!

Look how far we’ve come. From a crack ship to a sunk ship to a sexy battleship… it has been an amazing journey. TL;DR Isayama ships Rivamika🔥

destroy the idea that girls in glasses aren’t pretty
