one family to rule them all

anonymous asked:

Do you have any headcanons for the countries as dads?

So, once again, forever ago, we did a huge post about dad headcanons!!
Though, it was about two months ago, so it’s old..I’ll go ahead and copy and paste the answers below, and maybe add some more new ones while I’m at it!!! Enjoy!!

America: All the dad jokes, white dad dancing at the neighborhood BBQ (you know exactly with that means), good homework helper, A master griller, not super strict but has rules. Fun dad, game night with kids. Dance parties around the house.

England: Strict when young, gives them space when they’re older, paranoid about safety, more books than electronics, turns off Wifi for family meeting, all children must be sorted into a Hogwarts house and watch Harry Potter.

France: King of Bake Sales, fun dad, if not married flirts with single moms, drinks wine with the other moms, goes on vacation with his kids a lot, hosts neighborhood get-together’s often, teaches kids to speak French as first language…then English. Loves to go dancing with his kids.

Canada: Quiet dad, always volunteers to be a chaperone for school trips, has a hard time saying no to his kids, good at helping kids with projects, loves playing board games with his kids.

Russia: The almost perfect dad-bod. Other parents are sometimes scared of hims. Trains kids in self-defense. Very sweet with kids, but is still strict. Kids would be very well behaved.

China: Strict, but still fun. Big on family time. Always buys his kids little gifts. Teaches kids to cook from a young age. Very respectful kids. Plays both mom and dad roles.

Signs as childhood things:

Aries: oblivious and unstoppable giggles among you and your friends about each other’s weird drawings.

Taurus: cuddling your mother at night, when there is a nasty storm outside. With you listening closely to the rain.

Gemini: getting a brand new bike, and being able to peddle it, and riding as freely as you wish. Even sometimes having your mum or dad run after you.

Cancer: letting your creativity flow to the top. And imagining adventures with your best friends. Adventures that now may seem surreal to you.

Leo: going utterly crazy, and not caring at all, just jumping and skipping everywhere. Living in your own world and by your own rules.

Virgo: baking cookies with your grandparents, and after trying one yourself, running to everyone in your household to give them a cookie and to see them smile.

Libra: Going on a day trip with your family. Either an amusement park or a historical museum and liking the social atmosphere.

Scorpio: when you accomplished your first goal, either in a sports team or as a personal thing such as being able to read your first book and understand it.

Sagittarius: Joking around with your friends and thinking that this day was your favourite one, because of those moments you believe you won’t forget.

Capricorn: when you started a new obsession or hobby, that includes when you read your first big book series or when you felt like plain thinking.

Aquarius: Getting your first ever pet, and observing it eagerly, not being really sure if you can touch it or if the pet will even like you. Keeping a strange distance between the pet and yourself, yet being intrigued.

Pisces: hazily looking up at the sky, and questioning its existence, and then jumping onto a swing, just to imagine and feel what it is like to fly.

I am a volunteer patient escort at planned parenthood

This is something I just shared on FB about my experiences as a patient escort. Just thought I’d put it on here too.

Alright y'all. Prepare for a long post, but one you should read.

Some of you know, but some of you don’t, that I volunteer at Planned Parenthood about twice a month. My official title is Volunteer Clinic Escort. My role is to safely get patients and family into the clinic safely, with privacy, and with a friendly face. Not all Planned Parenthoods (PP) have these, but the clinic where I volunteer does because we have loud, abrasive, volatile, threatening, verbally abusive and dishonest anti-choice protesters who harass people in the clinic. I would like to tell you about my experiences with them and with patients who talk to me as I stand outside with my umbrella and vest.

(I would like to note that this is not the place to tell me that abortion is wrong, that I should not support PP, that I need to stop what I’m doing. I’ve heard every argument before. In fact, I’ve had every arguement screamed in my face. You’re welcome to your opinion, but I will not be acknowledging it on here, and I ask that others ignore dissenters too. This post isn’t about me and why you think I’m wrong. It’s about what I see every time I volunteer.)

When I am volunteering, I am outside and often have patients and family members talk with me. I’m obviously not there to counsel or to offer advice medically one way or another, but I am a friendly ear and people just need to talk sometimes. Also, when volunteering, patients entering the clinic are verbally harassed by the anti choice protesters almost immediately and, while we don’t encourage it, they often yell back. The protesters don’t listen.

On my very first day, I had a person head into the clinic. As I smiled to her and went to get the door, an anti-choice protester (ACP) yelled “Mama! Don’t kill your baby!” The patient immediately responded tearfully “my baby is dead. My baby is falling out of me right now. I didn’t do anything.” The ACP, without missing a beat, screamed back through her child-sized megaphone “No he isn’t! Your doctor lied to you! These murderers just want your money!” I ushered in the patient as gently as I could while my co-volunteer told her kindly that those people didn’t matter and that in a week they wouldn’t even remember what they heard here.

In the year and a half I’ve been doing this, we have had a ACP sneak into the clinic and threaten to burn the place down. The police did nothing. We had two other ACPs try and enter the clinic to tell patients they would adopt their babies. We told them to get off the property and when they didn’t, we called the police. Eventually the ACP returned to the narrow strip of lawn they stand on at the edge of the parking lot, and luckily so, because the police never showed again.

My clinic, luckily, has never faced extreme violence while I was there. But other PP and health care clinics are not so lucky. They are burned down, have bombs planted, have clinic escorts and workers physically harmed.

They are shot at and three people die.

I have had patients tell me that they will be killed by their partner if they have an abortion. I have been told that their partner will kill them if they DON’T have one. I’ve been told how people with physical disabilities cannot carry a child without side effects so severe they may not survive. I’ve had patients explain that their mental health is at risk if they go through with the pregnancy. I’ve had patients come in with a wanted pregnancy that ended in miscarriage and they needed PPs help to safely remove the tissue. I’ve seen people come in who admit to being addicted to drugs and know they cannot go through this pregnancy.

Planned Parenthood helped all these people, not just with medical care, but with helping abused patients find help to escape violent partners. Helping those who want to conceive find fertility doctors. Helping drug addicts find resources to become healthy.

All the while, the ACP stand outside, screaming and hollering, telling women that they are murderers and whores and that they will burn for murdering their babies. But it’s ok, they do it out of love. They scream at these people and tell them awful things and then beg to have the patient come talk with them.

They don’t see the hypocrisy.

It is a rule to not engage with the ACP at all. In the year and a half I’ve been doing this, I’ve said maybe a total of 50 words to the group, all of which are some form of “you are on our property, step back right now.” I may not engage them, but we can make eye contact and make them believe we are listening. We do this so the ACP begins shouting at me, and not a patient getting air outside. I would much rather be shouted at than have them scream at a patient.

When I am being yelled at, I have been called: a murderer, a nazi, a slavery supporter, a bad mother, a bad wife (they do not know if I am married or if I have children), a witch, a lesbian, a liberal, a member of satan’s army, a Muslim lover, a bitch, a slut, and evil. Some of these things are true and some are perfectly fine things to be, but to the ACP they are all bad.

Sometimes we have patient partners come talk to the protesters. They try and explain to the ACP why they are there with their partner. I’ve heard them tell the ACP every single reason, and every single time, the protesters still tell them they are wrong and a bad father and a supporter of Satan. Every. Time. And they call this love.

Since Trump took office, one of his first orders signed was a Global Gag Rule. People thought that this rule meant that no US money would go to pay for abortions overseas, but in fact, US funds have never paid for abortions and haven’t since 1973. Even in the US, because of the Hyde Amendment, no federal funding goes to pay for abortions.

What this gag rule now does, however, is prevent money from going to clinics that even mention abortion as a method of family planning. They don’t have to perform them. If they are mentioned at all in pamphlets or classes, they lose foreign aid money. This means that now they can’t provide birth control, wellness checks, prenatal care, or classes.

This will cause unwanted pregnancies. This will cause people to seek out abortions, often in unsafe condition.

This will cause people to die.

Roughly 1/3 people with a uterus will have an abortion in their life. I haven’t spoken to everyone who has had one, but I’ve spoken to more than most. No one gets an abortion out of malice. No one gets an abortion just to end the life of a fetus, just for kicks. No. One.

Planned Parenthood provides important health services, including abortion. They do this despite the risk of physical bodily harm, every day. People like myself stand outside PP to protect patients because it is important.

We. Will. Not. Stand. Down.

I will continue to volunteer, even though since Trump was elected, the ACP have gotten more and more aggressive in their tactics, since they believe Trump supports their actions. I will continue to walk these patients inside, to get help, because it is important and right. I will continue to fight Trump the slew of anti choice people supporting him. I will continue to support choice even though I know I will lose friends and will face hatred from people I know.

Planned Parenthood is important, and we will not stand down.

CASTIEL AND HIS SACRED OATH - 12x10, 12x12, 12x23

This scene here. This split second glance is so so important. I don’t know why people aren’t talking about it (I couldn’t even find any gifs of it and had to take pictures coz I’m computerly incompitent). But I wanted to give my own analytical response to this millisecond glance, because I think it demonstrates properly why Cas has never done anything about his feelings for Dean.

First, some context from my behalf: I always assumed Cas had never admitted his love for Dean for one of two reasons, 1) he was an angel, therefore not quite understanding his feelings himself - perhaps confusing them with familial love, Dean style. Or 2) he was afraid his love may not be reciprocated. But after watching 12x10, 12x12 and 12x23, I can thoroughly rule out reason 1.

Now, I’ll be talking a lot about 12x10 as that ENTIRE EPISODE and THIS LOOK are so closely correlated.

In the early hours of July 17th 1918 a family and four faithful servants waited in a dim-lit cellar in a house called “The house of special purpose”. There they were told that they had to pose for a family photo to prove they were still alive .  This family was no other than the family who once ruled Russia. The father was the ex-tsar of Russia, who was a weak ruler but he was a gentle and kind man who loved his family. The mother was descended from Queen Victoria’s bloodline who had a tough childhood after the lost of her mother and baby sister at a young age. Which shaped her into a shy woman. They had five children who were definition of innocence itself. The four beautiful daughters : One was intelligent, one was dutiful, one was brave and one was able to make all frowns turn into a smile. The youngest of the five was the delicate little boy who was originally set to rule Russia someday but that never came to be. And finally the four servants who stuck with them through thick and thin. After waiting, guards started to fill the room and there was no photo to be taken but instead a death sentence was read out. In the blink of an eye bullets ricocheted off the walls and the echo of screams filled the room. After the gunfire, the children and some of the servants were still alive so they were brutally shot/bayoneted to death. In total it took 20-30 minutes to kill all 11 people in that cellar.

This happened 99 years ago today, may they all rest in peace.

Family Values

She had her dorm room to herself. Not standard policy for EU but when your family have been patrons long enough to have their own scholarship fund you get a bit of leeway. That and the last member of her creepy family to enrol went through five roommates in the first month. The administration thought it best to nip that in the bud rather than gamble this one would be less “eccentric” than her forebears. They were glad they did when she moved in and brought all her luggage inside a coffin. Why are the wealthy always the kooky ones?

In her case the answer was obvious to those in the know; Her family estate was in a thin spot smaller but just as fragile as the University. She had grown up on top of the fractured boundaries between realities.
As a result she knew all the mysterious Rules when she got here; Which made it even more spooky when she broke them constantly. She would go out without iron or salt, she wandered the forest at night, and she always…ALWAYS used her True Name.

No one understood how she hadn’t been Taken yet; Other than Them of course, They got the message loud and clear. That name told of a long and ancient story of love, war, death, and truce, long lost to history; Human history at least. However the ending was short and simple, “This one is off limits”.
She knew this well enough, she didn’t need salt, iron and noxious herbs, just her name.
She was an Addams; Family was protection enough.

Hey! So I recently got a new job and moved to a new city and don't get me wrong I'm very grateful... but ya girl's stressed, exhausted, and a little bit lonely. Do you have any advice and/or a funny story to help me through the week?

last night, sam went upstate and took his little nieces and nephews out trick-or-treating. naturally, steve and nat and  i went with him, to help establish him as “The Coolest Uncle Ever: Even Better Than Uncle Terry, Who Is A Cool Cop And Always Smells Like Vanilla.” or at least, that’s why nat and steve went. i just went to heckle sam.

(as an aside: the dawning realization that i experienced when sam’s sister’s kids came running at him, yelling “Uncle Sam! Uncle Sam!” was incredible. Uncle Sam hangs out with Captain America. perfect. )

anyway, sam has–i think–six nieces and nephews. i think. they kept running around and it was hard to count. also, there may have been twins. i’m not sure about that–it may have been one child who kept changing costumes. it made me very grateful that i only ever had to look after steve and becca.

the youngest of the little monsters was named seth. seth was three and a half, which he would proudly indicate with his pudgy little fingers whenever prompted. and sometimes without prompting. this was seth’s first halloween. as per sam’s family tradition, seth was decked out in a worn green dinosaur onesie, which came included with dino-face hood and very plush tail. every one of the kids wore it at some point, and after tessa’s (age 7) discovery that dinosaurs had feathers, it now includes a few dozen white feathers sewn onto the ends of the sleeves and tail.

seth was delighted with this. he spent most of the pre-trick-or-treating time running around growling at people.

when all the kids were ready to go, sam’s sister lined them up next to the door and dished out the rules: stay in a group, don’t leave anyone behind, don’t go into anyone’s house, etc. we adults were told that the kids were allowed to run along the sidewalks, but had to wait with an adult at the end of each block. when she’d gotten confirmations from the whole group, she opened the door and they went roaring out like a stampede of very tiny bison. we followed after.

the group veered left right out the door. the house is in a suburb, nice and well lit and very safe, so we let them get a little distance on us. seth was at the back of the pack: his little dino-head tipped down for the charge, pudgy arms and legs pumping like a locomotive, tail like a rudder behind him.

the rest of the kids charged up the next door neighbor’s driveway. head down, seth kept going.

the rest of the group got their candy and bolted towards the next house, easily overtaking the little dino that could.

unsure what was happening, steve and sam and nat and I waited at the end of the block. the oldest kids got to us first and compared their loot while we waited. seth pulled up soon after, having eliminated the going-up-to-houses stage and gained ground on the middle children. when he caught sight of the other kid’s candy, he was visibly confused.

sam got down on his level and asked what was up.

apparently, a misunderstanding had occurred. seth believed that halloween was a race, and the winners got bags full of candy. no one had actually explained the whole getting-candy-from-strangers part to him.

seth was devastated that he’d missed a whole block’s worth of loot, so steve scooped him up piggyback and took off at a dead run, which is pretty impressive. i once saw steve outrun a horse. he and seth went full-out. by the time the rest of the kids had gathered with the rest of us, steve had re-done the whole block. and he only jumped three cars to do it in time.

seth’s candy bag was rapidly filled by the neighbors, who managed to stop gaping long enough to extend their candy bowls. seth himself barely noticed, as he was too busy clinging to steve’s hair and shrieking.

tessa was very jealous, and commandeered me as a steed for the next block. the rest of the kids quickly demanded the same from nat and sam. (sam’s “i do what he does, only slower” was not a great selling point for the kids, who wanted to go faster, sam.

so we spend the rest of the evening doing piggy-back halloween speedruns.

seth got a lot of candy.

shoutout to ppl who do think of violence & vile things because of their mental illness, but arent disgusted by it

shoutout to ppl who dont have a knee-jerk emotional reaction to ensure they wont push their friend off that ledge, or kill their cat with that brick, or swerve their car into that family. who have to dig up reasons & consequences manually because their brain wont give them the chemicals to be an intrinsically good person

shoutout to ppl who have to manage their intrusive thoughts with laws & rules & restrictions at every turn. to whom “right and wrong” is only ever an external guideline, never an internal compass, never something they can blindly trust. who show compassion out of self-preservation & so are told all their good acts are lies, even if theyve done more for the world than the ones calling them monsters

shoutout to ppl who act like good ppl despite everything telling them not to

chowder better be the one giving the haus tour after bitty leaves otherwise i’m gonna fight because LITERALLY no one else would be as good as he would any

like sure it’ll be a complete trainwreck but he’ll also remember the most random facts (‘oh!! yeah!! bitty told us to throw that couch out over 200 times!’ 'oh that boiler is from 2009 and broke down 8 times in the past three months, one time when nursey was taking a shower and another time when bitty was running the dishwasher anyway soap got eveywhere but nursey didn’t seem super bothered??’) and it’s just weirdly endearing like all these frogs feel so comfortable around him and start to really feel like part of the team bc they’re hearing all these weird stories but it makes the team seem more real and less like. 'omg the two-time frozen four winner samwell wow!!’ like pls babes

and he buys all of them sharks merch like they each get a sticker or something and he has stats memorized back to like the 90s and will just casually throw them out there but if a kid asks him about the sharks/is a fan than the entire tour is derailed and it ends up lasting 2 hours longer than it should but it’s worth it and the frogs love it so much!

chowder explains everything in so much detail (like too much detail) but it helps the frogs feel more comfortable because going to college is confusing but the hockey team is a weird loving family and it makes them excited to be on the team

30 minutes are dedicated to the rules and expectations of team breakfast ('no one has ever fit more eggs in their mouth than holster and honestly we don’t want anyone to try’)

after the haus tour is over chowder drags all the frogs around campus pointing out the best places for them to eat lunch and fastest paths on the quad and basically just gives them a bunch of pointers that orientation doesn’t lol

and chowder is super dedicated to it because he remembers how great bitty was at it and wants to live up to his legacy and also bitty made him feel super welcome and comfortable and he also highkey admires shitty and wants to make him proud too

and anytime he sees caitlyn and the girls team practicing he’ll wave frantically and be like 'CAITLYN!! HI!!! that’s my girlfriend she’s amazing and pretty and super good at everything she does she’s fantastic wow’ bc he just really loves her a lot!!!

A Winchester’s Legacy - Dean Winchester x Reader - Part 1

Title: A Winchester’s Legacy

Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader

Word Count: 4,072

Warnings: Character death (not main ones)

Summary: You’ve known the Winchesters all your life, yet when the father of your child dies you never thought they would take you in the bunker with them. Nor would you ever think the love you’d feel again for the older Winchester as he becomes a father for your baby. Who would ever think he has just the same wish: A family with you.

A/N: Daddy Dean is literally the best thing on this world!

Hunting and love just didn’t go together. It was not a rule per say but everybody in this line of work knew that if a hunter allowed themselves to fall for someone, sooner or later, both their lives would be damned. And you knew it yourself, from the first moment you decided to do this, yet somehow you found yourself falling head over heels for him.

Settling wasn’t his thing, and with this kind of job that the both of you had, you weren’t made for that either. You never called it a relationship, although you really wished you could, and even if life – and again the job – had you drifting apart, you’d always find your way back to each other. Whether it was the bar, the police station, a crime scene caused by some angry werewolf, the end result was one. You’d always end up a tangled mess of limbs and bed sheets in his motel room just savoring each other, trying to take in as much as you could before the morning came and you had to drift apart again. Waiting to see each other again, promising to with every lingering touch and kiss.

Until that promise was broken. And as if your world hadn’t already crumbled down when you saw his body in autopsy, as if you didn’t already have enough drinks to kill yourself from the alcohol in your system, as if hunting every demon to get to the one that took him away from you wasn’t enough… there was still one more thing coming.

Oh and if love and hunting didn’t go together just wait until you tried kids and hunting. Speaking of which-

“He seems to like my trenchcoat.” Castiel’s voice along with your son’s squeal caught your attention and you were brought back to reality.

Close to You (M)

You’re pulling our connections expecting me to let you go — but I won’t.

SUMMARY: You had met him when you were seven, but you fell in love with him when you were seventeen. He had been everything you’d hoped a loved one should be; until he left. Now that you’ve reached your twenty-first birthday, you’re thrown into a deal that your parents had made when you were just a kid — and that deal involved marrying the same man who had broken your heart so long ago.

GENRE/WARNINGS: Arranged Marriage!AU, Prince!Yuta — filled with angst, fluff, and smut aka my three favorite things.

WORDS: 24.1k.

A/N: I wrote this idea down in my notes and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since so I decided to bring it to life. I apologize for the excessively long length of this… Once I started writing it I couldn’t stop lmao. But I hope you enjoy it, lovebugs!!!

Little My

”Curious, fearless, tactless.”

That is how Tove Jansson described one of the most (if not The Most) popular characters in all of Moominvalley. She appears in all Moomin media from books to comics and animations, often as a main character. Little My is named after µ, 12th letter of Greek alphabet. It is the SI prefix micro-, which represents one millionth, or 10−6. She got this name because she is so very small. Her character is said to be based on Tove herself and they share their sharp wit. Little My is also seen to be based on Tove’s dear friend Eva Wichman and her sharp intellect. Another inspiration could be Tove’s friend and lover Putte Foch.

Litte My was born on a Midsummer’s night in the book The Exploits of Moominpappa (1950). She is daughter of Mymble and younger sister to Mymble’s daughter. Her mother soon gives up on trying to raise her and passes the task on to her older sister. Eventually Little My becomes the adoptive daughter of Moomin family. This seems to be a suitable arrangement for everyone because Moomin family does not even try to raise Little My. She remains their adoptive child in just about all media like comics and animations., where she seems to live with them and her sister however she wants.

Little My balances out the gentle and forgiving Moomin family. She is brash, brutally honest and aggressive. Little My is the one who points out weaknesses other people would rather ignore. She demands instead of asking and challenges the entire world to stand against her. Odd are, she will win anytime. She loves danger and catastrophes. She seems to live an anarchistic life as she will never listen to any rules or advice from others. Instead, she will readily give such advice. Little My represents all the best things about freedom and independence.

Though Little My may seem mean, she is actually very kind. She will often force others to stop lying to themselves or avoiding inconvenient truths. She will stop sentimental Moomintroll from dwelling too deep into his sappy thoughts and helps Whomper realize the difference between reality and imagination. Little My just does not dance around facts because that would serve no purpose. Her aggression and example is what eventually gives the Invisible Child her face again. “You will never get your own face unless you learn how to fight.”

Hold Me Tight | Pt. 1

( can you trust me? )

Part 1 | Part 2

Anonymous requested: Hwarang AU + Royalty/Servant AU
Pairing: Taehyung | Reader
Genre: Angst/Fluff; Royalty AU + Soulmate AU (in which you know they’re your soulmate when you touch them for the first time + share extreme physical sensation after you meet)
Word Count: 5,930
Author’s Note: The original request… did not call for a Soulmate AU but I thought to myself hey what would make this more interesting and 10x more painful and thus, this concept was born. I actually got around to watching some of Hwarang before writing this, so I feel a little more qualified for this—but you don’t need to have previous knowledge of the show before reading this. Thank you @cheymint for dealing with my initial worry over the world building, I hope this satisfies!

Summary: Kim Taehyung is expected to spend the rest of his life within the company of nobility after joining the ranks of the kingdom’s newest royal guard. He anticipates alot of new experiences, new people… but the spark of a touch more powerful than anything before in his life is definitely not one of them—from the shadows of maids and housekeepers nonetheless.

.

The morning greeting comes has it always does within the household: a pounding fist against his headboard as the blanket is ripped off Taehyung’s body. His natural instinct is always the same, which is to curl in upon himself as he lets out the faintest groan of dissatisfaction. “Must you always do that hyung?” The boy inquires, barely offering a side glance to the culprit of his current state of further exhaustion.

Standing above him with the edges of the blanket curled up underneath fingers, Kim Namjoon grins wickedly, already dressed in his robes for the morning lessons. “You know that without me, you’d be late to all your lessons. So step on it. Or do I have to call in Hoseok to help—?”

“No, no, it’s fine. I’m up,” Taehyung interjects, internally cringing at the thought of Hoseok being called in for assistance in trying to get him out of bed. The boy may have been older than both himself and Namjoon, but more often than not had the tendency to act like a child and Taehyung did not wish to start the day with Hoseok jumping on his bed.

Namjoon laughs at that, throwing the blanket off to the side. “Hurry up alright? You know Master Wooreuk won’t be happy to see you late again.”

“Yeah, yeah, I got it,” Taehyung dismisses with a wave, sliding to the front of the bed just as Namjoon slides open the door separating the bedroom with the long hallway before his footsteps become the only thing he can hear along the Hwarang household. With a grunt, Taehyung straightens up, laying out his robes for the morning lesson as he gets to work dressing.

anonymous asked:

do u have an idea about what happend to jungkook, its all over twitter about him being in a variety show and then when everyone left to have dinner they left him alone so he had to eat dinner at a convinience store or somthing?

Jin and Jungkook were seen filming for “let’s eat dinner together” (as you can see HERE and HERE)

SPOILER:

The rules of the show are visiting houses/families and eating dinner with them. If the people they visit have already eaten then can’t ask them for food. So apparently jungkook and Kang Ho Dong (one of the MCs) couldn’t get a meal because the family they visited eat dinner early during the weekends. That’s why they ended up going to the convenience store.

According to fans who were there, everyone in the neighborhood tried to offer food and cook for them but the staff stopped them because of the rules of the show. You can visit this post HERE and you will understand more about the situation.

This is a photo of a girl that bumped into them while they were at the convenience store

Why Robert E.O. Speedwagon deserves your love

So today I found myself writing a fucking essay on Speedwagon. Please enjoy.

I feel like people never really- and I mean really- talk about just how strong Speedwagon’s connection to the Joestars is. And it all started because Jonathan Joestar didn’t kick him as hard as he could have.

I’ve always gotten the impression that Jonathan was one of the first people to show Speedwagon genuine kindness; it’s even more meaningful when you realize that Speedwagon initially stereotyped Jonathan as a dumb rich kid. But Jonathan not only held back against Speedwagon when they fought, he stated that his reason for doing so was because he understood that Speedwagon had a family who would mourn his death. Jonathan didn’t want to put them through the same sadness that he himself was going through. In an era where classism was at its highest, a nobleman acknowledged that a street crook had loved ones and had just as much a right to live as he did.

I think that just completely blew Speedwagon’s fucking mind.

Word Count: 1,583

Warnings: angst, and small amounts of fluff

A/N: This was requested by an anon! I hope you all enjoy Satan Sunday <3 <3 Feedback is welcomed and appreciated! I love you all so much! <3

The rain pelted your clothes as you sat on the curb outside your house.  You weren’t sure where you were going to go.  Your family had always been strict with their religion and their rules.  You didn’t mean to upset them with your opinion.  Apparently having an opinion was earned in your home.  You realized this a little too late.

Tears streamed down your face as you sat in the rain.  It didn’t matter what happened, you now had nowhere to live, nowhere to eat, and nowhere to bathe.  This had to be one of the worst days of your life.

“Religion can be so complicated,” an unfamiliar voice uttered, as a tall man towered over you.  His hair was blond and his eyes were blue.  He was wearing jeans and a brown shirt with a green over shirt on top of it.  “I broke too many rules once.  My father kicked me out too.”

What Is a Heathen/Northern Tradition Pagan?

I am what is known as a Northern Tradition Pagan, or in short, a Heathen. As a heathen, I practice a variety of different religious and magickal workings which will be explained below. Before you read any further, understand that this has nothing to do with the christian religion and was practiced before Christianity reached Europe. The practices I am about to describe have ancient origins which date back to before the time of the vikings.

Being pagan means anything other than christian. When someone says they are pagan, they are not just talking about one specific religion, they are talking about many, unless they specify which religion they are talking about. Heathenry or Northern Tradition Paganism can be described as the religion of the Vikings, but its origins lead further back than even them. We worship and call to gods and goddesses of three different types of pantheons. There are many different kinds of heathenry and in this basic description, we shall discuss the most popular and widely known.

 The Paths

Asatru is one of the most popular types of heathenry. Asatru deals with the worship to the Aesir gods and goddesses. These gods and goddesses make their home in one of the nine worlds of Yggdrasil, the great world tree. Asgard stands at the top of this great tree and is home to many different deities. Odin, god of magick, death, poetry, ecstasy, written word, and war. Thor, god of storms and the common folk. Frigga, wife of Odin and goddess of motherhood, marriage, wyrd, and the household. There are of course, many more but these are just but a few that heathens of the Asatru form of heathenry would worship or call to.

Vanatru is a form of heathenry which centers around the worship of Vanaheim deities. These deities work with nature, farming, planting crops, but they are not inherently part of nature, but they do help it grow in some ways. Freyr, god of fields, forest, harvest, and sex. Freyr is also lord of Ljossalfheim, which is another world inhabited by what most would call, elves. Freyja, which is Freyr’s twin sister is goddess of magick (usually magick specifically known as seidr), fertility, death, love, and sex. Nerthus, a very old and powerful earth like goddess, usually associated with the land and sea, or bog like areas. Again, these are just some of the many deities within Vanatru.

Rokkatru is a form of heathenry that many shy away from. The term Rokk as some people say, means dark or shadow. Rokkatru is a practice of heathenry that deals with worshiping the Rokk deities. Usually these deities are not seen as deities, but I personally believe them to be deities in their own right. The Rokk gods and goddesses also have another widely known term. That term is the Jotunar. Usually the Jotunar might be classified as beings from Jotunheim, the world of the giants or etins. However, there are many different kinds of etins, like, Fire etins, frost etins, sky etins, earth etins, sea etins, and so on. Some of them come from different worlds such as Muspelheim or even Niflheim. The gods and goddesses of this particular branch of heathenry are sometimes feared and shunned. Here I will give you a list on what some of the most popular Jotunar are. Skadhi, goddess of winter and hunting, usually living in mountains or snow terrain. Loki, god of mischief and chaos. Angrboda, one of Loki’s wives, hag (the term hag means wise woman or healer, but she is also other things too) of Iron Wood in Jotunheim. Thrym, high king of Jotunheim and seems to be a god of frost and snow. These gods and goddesses are ancient beings, said to have been around since before all the nine worlds were created. They are part of nature, they are nature’s purest form. Unlike Elementals, the Jotunar are more aware of themselves. They can transform themselves into ranging storms and strong winds which devastate the world. Most Jotunar are skilled in shapeshifting, so much so that they consider it a cultural art-form. They can change their form just like we change our clothes.

The Beliefs
Now that I’ve explained the three different types of heathenry, let’s talk about a few other things that heathens may also follow.
⦁      Wyrd
Wyrd in Heathenry is actually a complex system of many different things. Wyrd can encompass personal choices to that of circumstance, situation, or even deity influence. Wyrd also encompasses your personal strand of luck. Now luck in general is very complex. There are many different kinds of luck, luck ranging from situations or issues passed down from the family line, or luck that is part of an individual. Luck can also be passed down from lifetime to lifetime. All of this incorporates to a whole mess of webs and connections which make our wyrd what it is.

Wyrd is essentially what some would call fate or destiny, but it usually determined by the actions of the individual or the actions of those before the individual. Wyrd intersects with all things, each person or living thing has a strand of wyrd. The wyrd we have is called orlog, it is our personal life path which we usually direct ourselves. While our wyrd touches others wyrd, it is ours and ours alone. Our wyrd may also affect others wyrd to a certain extent. We all have our own thread, and that thread depending on the circumstances or influences of ones life may or may not have knots or tangles in it. Either way, these strands of our wyrd feed into the greater cosmic tapestry.

The tapestry of all wyrd can only be fully seen by deities, usually by the Norns. The Norns are giantesses which weave and sew our strands into the tapestry. While we have some control, they can also direct it too. Sometimes our wyrd is affected by deities other than the Norns as well. A god or goddess that you work with can essentially alter part of your wyrd, changing your luck from good to bad or bad to good. Generally, wyrd is a complex system of actions and reactions which play out as a course of cause and effect, but there are also some random things in there probably affected by something that either we did or something that a deity did.

Wyrd can be read by individuals who have honed their skills in seidr and have worked with gods or goddesses associated with wyrd, such as Frigga. Wyrd is flexible and can create many different types of symbolism associated with a certain problem. We as humans cannot read the full spectrum of wyrd because it is to complex for our mortal minds to understand. However, we can get pieces of the greater picture involved in our lives and thus tell others how to untie their own knots or at least point them in that direction. For those of us who can tap into the weave of wyrd, we can only see a portion, we can look and feel, but never change anything, for it is outside of our power to do so. All we can do is guide an individual.

⦁    The Nine Noble Virtues
Not all heathens follow this, but there are many of us who do, I am one of them. The Nine Noble Virtues were a modern establishment on what our people attempt to stand for and uphold, and these ways are believed to also be the practice of our ancestors as well. They are a set of guidelines, (not rules) that allow us to live an honorable life. They are as follows.

Loyalty (Frith, Family, Friends)
Be true to your family and your kin. They come before all else; the whole comes before the individual. Work to provide for, protect, encourage, and support them.

Self-reliance (Responsibility)
Always be in a position to provide for yourself, so that you’re not a burden to others. Accept help graciously when it is offered, but do not constantly depend on others. Ask no one to do something for you that you could do yourself. In addition, take responsibility for your own happiness and fulfillment. Do not blame others for your situation until you have looked at yourself.

Industriousness
Contribute. To your family, to your tribe, to your country. Find where help is needed and offer it. Do as much as you can. Don’t waste time being unproductive. Build relationships, craft things, study, teach others.

Truth (Honesty, Wisdom)
Keep your word. Don’t tell lies, except to an enemy who lies to you. Keep your integrity. Be honest to yourself. Learn how to see through lies. Be wary of others’ facades and false words.

Hospitality (Generosity)
Do not hesitate to welcome the weary into your home. When you have guests, provide them with your best food, drink, and warm clothes. If there is no extra room, give them your own. In return, when you are a guest, be a gracious one, offer help, and do not overstay your welcome.

Honor
Keep your word when you’ve given it (and know when to give it). Mend things, situations, and relationships that you’ve damaged. Admit when something is your fault.

Courage (Bravery, Boldness)
Do what is right in the face of opposition or derision. Protect yourself and your kin from harm. Challenge yourself.

Steadfastness (Strength, Endurance)
Perseverance. Once you’ve committed to something, see it through, even if the way is hard.

Self-Discipline (Moderation, Control)
Constantly work to better yourself. Keep control of yourself; be mindful of your own actions. Set goals and challenge yourself to meet them. Do not allow yourself to fall into vice, or give up control of yourself to others.

⦁      Each person is different within this religion. Not every Heathen practices the same way or even worships the same deities. Some of us are also looked downed upon. Some heathens are very restrictive, not allowing people of color into their religion or practices, while others like myself, are very open to anyone practicing. We are a diverse group of people and not all of our practices are the same, let alone done in groups. There isn’t a lot of organized religion here, but some of the Asatru folk are pretty organized when it comes to performing Blots, which are actually a form of group meeting in which we might honor the gods.

All heathens have their own practices and ways of doing things. Some of us have taboos, things we do on a daily basis and things we aren’t supposed to do at all. These things are usually along the lines of what is most logical, or to what we feel our gods or goddesses are telling us to do. We believe the gods and goddesses of the Norse Pantheons are individual, who can think and feel all on their own, so their interactions with us are not limited. We tend to see them as valuable partners and friends, but still hold a high respect for them no matter what we do. We believe the gods can treat others differently and have their own way with dealing with each person, even if it is the same god or goddess that another is working with.

Many of us like to incorporate practices of Norse Mythology, or more commonly known as the lore, into our practices. The lore is a translation of older icelandic texts written by an 1170 scholar named Snorri Sturluson. He was the author of the Prose Edda or Younger Edda, which consists of Gylfaginning (“the fooling of Gylfi”), a narrative of Norse mythology, the Skáldskaparmál, a book of poetic language, and the Háttatal, a list of verse forms. He was also the author of the Heimskringla, a history of the Norwegian kings that begins with legendary material in Ynglinga saga and moves through to early medieval Scandinavian history.

⦁    The Cosmology of Yggdrasil

The Creation
In the beginning, there were two worlds. Muspelheim, the world of fire, and Niflheim, the world of ice. The two worlds swirled around in the endless abyss called Ginnungagap and into it poured the sparks and smoke and layers of the rime-ice and glacial rivers. As heat and cold met in Ginnungagap, crashing together, they created Ymir, first of the godlike giants. Ymir could produce asexually, and when he sweated, more giants were born.
As the frost continued to melt, a cow, Adhumbla, emerged from it. She nourished Ymir with her milk and she was also nourished by the salt-licks in the ice. Her licks slowly uncovered Buri, the first of the Aesir tribe of gods. Buri had a son named Bor, who married Bestla, the daughter of the giant Bolthorn. The Half-god, half-giant children of Bor and Bestla were Odin and his two brothers, Vili and Ve. The three brothers slew Ymir and set to constructing the worlds from his corpse. The brothers fashioned the oceans from his blood, the soil from his skin, and muscles, the plants from his hair, clouds from his brains, and the sky from his skull. The brothers then set four dwarves to the four cardinal directions, and held Ymir’s skull aloft above the earth.
After creating the nine worlds, they eventually formed the first man and woman, Ask and Embla, from two tree trunks of the shore, and built a fence around their dwelling place and set the sparks of Muspelheim into the sky.

Yggdrasil

Yggdrasil is a great cosmic tree bearing the nine worlds in its boughs. I believe this tree exists outside of our own universe and is actually part of another universe which intersects with our own, just as many others do.

The Nine Worlds

1.    Asgard Home of the Aesir gods
2.    Vanaheim Home of the Vanir gods
3.    Ljossalfheim Home to the Ljossalfar (Light elves)
4.    Midgard Home of the humans
5.    Jotunheim Home of the giants/etins
6.    Svartalfheim/Nidavellir Home of the Dokkalfar (Dark elves) and the Duergar (Dwarves. The Dokkalfar live in the upper part of the world where the Duergar live mostly underground in Nidavellir, which is a series of tunnels holding cities and homes for the Dwarves.
7.    Niflheim A world of frost and ice, home to many Frost Etins and some dwarves.
8.    Muspelheim World of fire and volcanoes, home to Surt and his Fire Etin’s.
9.    Helheim World of the dead, ruled by Hela the death goddess who is said to be half living and half dead. All who die of natural causes, murder, and disease go there.

⦁    Offerings
Offerings are given to the gods as a pledge or as a payment. Many heathens offer food, drinks, trinkets, and other things to give some kind of homage to our gods as a thanks for being in our lives.
In the eyes of the gods, offerings are needed to prove ones worth in worship and spirit work. It shows that you are willing to sacrifice something in your life to obtain either knowledge or their respect. Usually it is to show your loyalty to them in some way, to be glad they are within your life and to not take what you have for granted.

An offering may consist of food, drink, statues, candles or scented candles, a drop of your own blood. Generally an offering can be an entire altar dedicated to a specific deity or several deities. When an offering is made, it is placed on a special place, usually set aside, like an altar. All of this is for the gods, for the services they provide and for just being in our lives.

In some of our Blots, we have animal sacrifice. Unlike what most people think of animal sacrifice, it is not cruel or done for reasons of malice and suffering. When we sacrifice something, it is to not only pledge and worship, but to have our own meat and drink as well. What we eat, the gods also eat. Usually the leftover meat that isn’t eaten is thrown in the fire pit and is believed to be transported to our deities. However, animal sacrifice is also a practice which very few do today, as most of us are not farmers or own a plot of land, and so we are incapable of performing such rituals, myself included. However, even if an animal sacrifice is performed, there is great respect for that animal and are treated with care. The animals meant for sacrifice are often cared for gently and appropriately, taken to the doctor for diseases, and kept in a housing facility neatly kept up by the owner. When the time comes for the sacrifice, the animal is quickly put down and is not forced to endure any kind of excess pain. If the animal suffers to much pain or is dealt with in a disgusting manner or kept in a inhospitable environment and given to the gods, it is considered an unacceptable offering. You don’t give a gift to someone when the gift is in bad condition, and that is what animal sacrifice is all about, paying homage to the gods and offering them food to eat at our table as a gift of hospitality. However, other alternatives have been made in place of this practice. Since many of us are not farmers, we usually buy a steak or alcohol or some other beverage or food we think they might like from the store and offer it to the gods instead. Usually the sacrifice or offering is given to nature or burnt up in flames.

Magickal Practices

⦁    Seidr

Seidr usually involves some form of trance which is used to communicate with specific wights (wights are spirits of some kind, usually associated with nature, but they are different from alfar, which are known as elves but also different from the Jotunar) or deities. Seidr is one of the two known Norse forms of sorcery. Seidr can mean that you are one who enters trance or it can also mean you are a spirit worker or even a spiritwalker. Usually when you enter a trance to speak with a deity, there is no room for ego, it must be removed to allow a form of message to come across to you. Since Seidr involves trance, it makes it more possible for someone to fair forth, or to hamfarir (shapeshifting or astral projection). Seidr acts as a springboard to achieve hamfarir.

There are several ways to perform Seidr. One way is to sit, use various tools to provide an environment which will induce trance. These tools might be things like: incense, candles, statues of deities, offerings, songs, and chants. Another way is to have a group of people, possibly with those tools and those people chant or sing in unison and provide a “battery” for you to slip into trance, which may also involve a god or a goddess horsing you. (Horsing is a term used to describe deity possession, it has many forms.) Another form might be to fast and wait out in nature or even in your own home, wrapped up completely naked. The purpose of fasting is to allow your body to enter a survival mode which will eventually, within a period of four to five days without food and small amounts of water to bring you to a state of mind that allows you to tap into your most primal instincts and allow for wights or deities to come to you to speak messages to you in one way or another.

Seidr is a very exhausting practice. It is in no way meant for those who want a safe trip. There can be real danger in Seidr, such as blackouts; not remembering what you have done or where you have been, incapable of controlling your own actions due to fury, or even physical marks left on you by some spiritual vision or even spiritual travel. It is not meant to go yippy skippy along the way down spiritual road to meet your favorite gods and goddesses with no regard of purpose and safety, not to mention that it could lead you into trouble if you’re not welcome in a specific area. Even with animal spirits, you can receive some very negative responses, such as getting attacked through a vision of sorts by a fox and when you come out of it you realize you have a physical rash where you were bitten. (The last statement actually happened to me.)

Usually this kind of practice is meant for those who feel lead to help others, usually along the lines of traveling worlds or speaking to deities about specific information involving someone else that you’re helping. In many ways it is like a shamanic type of practice, but it is very different and is in no way the exact same. Seidr is powerful and usually combined with some form of galdr magick. (Galdr is a form of Norse sorcery which is used by words to create some form of outcome.) It should in no way be used for fun, the things you do in Seidr can be very real and also very dangerous depending on the circumstances. While it is dangerous, it is a very useful practice when you wish to communicate with deities.

A person who uses some form of Seidr is usually called a Seidkona if a woman or a Seidmadr if a man. Women were more common in the original use of Seidr and men were usually downed upon and deemed unmanly, because Seidr is a type of sorcery which makes you vulnerable.  To practice Seidr you must remove yourself, and at the same time you might leave your body and fair forth to elsewhere while your body remains immobile. Even if you aren’t fairing forth, the trance allows you to stretch your consciousness outward so you may see other things happening or different visions of sorts without actually leaving your body. You may also receive some form of divine message from these visions or even receive some kind of dialog implanted within you by a specific deity. This dialog may be thoughts of your own or like thoughts of your own with a different “voice” playing in your head. You never hear anything physically, but you usually do mentally if they decide to speak to you.

I would just like to note that these statements are true in my own personal experience and is no way meant to represent all personal experiences with others who practice Seidr. Seidr is a form of sorcery which I personally practice so that I may yet be closer to my gods and goddesses. I may also use whatever I get from “them” to help others along my journey.

⦁    Rune Casting

Rune casting is a type of magick associated with runes, usually of the Elder Futhark but also sometimes of the Anglo Saxon Futhorc. Runes are widely known as a powerful divinitory tool that allows us to access the tapestry of wyrd. They can be thrown upon a piece of cloth to perform a reading. Usually whatever runes are face up or next to one another or even on top of one another are seen as part of the reading. The runes have individual meanings and energies, I will not discuss them here because there is far to much information which is seemingly endless.
Runes are also powerful talismans of many different kinds. Some offer protection and others offer curses or even healing. Generally, the rune one wishes to use is either drawn somewhere or said by its name. Runes have power all on their own, the symbol alone is enough to make changes with our combined intentions. Runes were often used to help in pregnancy and protection of otherworldly forces, such as wights or alfs.

The runes at one time were also a language, a set of alphabetical letters different from the english language. The runes today are now used mostly as a form of divination, which is mentioned above. Many heathens still use the runes as the ancestors did. Many of us carve our own sets of runes while others buy them from various stores. There are also various other Norse related staves (sigils or symbols) that are a combination of either runes, usually known as bind-runes or something else entirely.

The Conclusion

From the differences in paths to magickal practices, each Heathen or Northern Tradition Pagan, is inherently different in our practices. While this is an overview of a basic practice that could be in someone’s practice, it is in no way to represent all forms of Heathenry, every Heathen, or every Northern Tradition Pagan.

The practices here are based on my own personal beliefs, combined with various other explanations and beliefs that I felt was appropriate to explain our religion to an outsider. We are in no way, devil worshipers, insane, or craving for attention. The things we do are usually in the intention of getting closer to our gods and expressing our faith in various ways. These are just some of the beliefs and ways of a heathen, which again may not reflect to all of us.

Women of the House of Haleth

Like to [the House of Beor] were the woodland folk of Haleth, but they were of lesser stature, and less eager for lore. They used few words, and did not love great concourse of men; and many among them delighted in solitude, wandering free in the greenwoods while the wonder of the lands of the Eldar was new upon them.

- The Silmarillion

[The Folk of Haleth] did not willingly adopt new things or customs, and retained many practices that seemed strange to the Eldar and the other Atani, with whom they had few dealings except in war. Nonetheless, they were esteemed as loyal allies and redoubtable warriors, though the companies they sent to battle beyond their borders were small…One of the strange practices spoken of was that many of their warriors were women, though few of these went abroad to fight in the great battles.

anonymous asked:

What If one of the fakes had a high school reunion or something like that and just took the crew and it somehow ended in a shoot out with the cops.

Let’s just be clear, it’s not a pride thing. Geoff has never cared what people said about him, not outside a professional sense anyway; he knew exactly who he was, what he was capable of, even before he’d taken an entire city to its knees. So it’s not that he felt the need to prove himself, it’s just that there’s something particular about high school trauma, isn’t there? Something that lingers, even when it shouldn’t, something that emerges from even the most upstanding adults when thrown back together for a reunion, the bullies and the bullied, all desperate to show what they’ve become.

Geoff’s last high school was nothing like he’d ever been to before, a snobby upper-crust hellhole he was only in because his Ma’s third husband pulled some strings, and the other students were quick to point out just how much he didn’t belong. Between the tattoos and the smoking, the lazy looks and slow sneering drawl, it was always all too easy to label Geoff a loser, a drop out, trailer park trash everyone knew would be washing their cars one day. Never mind that he scored higher than most of his cohort even when skipping more or less every class, never mind that he is possibly the most well-read crime-lord in the country, back then he had an image and teenagers are relentless. Not that Geoff was all that phased even at the time, only a year or so away from the day he picked up his first gun and never looked back, but it’s the principal of the thing.

So when an invite forwards through from an email so old he’d forgotten he’d even made it Geoff has to laugh. Then pause, consider, hatch an utterly ridiculous idea, and laugh some more. Because he might not care, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t enjoy ruining the night for all the pathetic stuck-up nobodies he went to school with; rubbing your success in everyone’s faces is what reunions are for, after all. The fact that it has a theme, that it is masquerade of all things, really just cements Geoff’s resolve to drag his crew halfway across the country into one of the strangest nights of their lives.

Everyone knows the option to bring a guest to these events is, in reality, the offer to bring a romantic partner, singular, but it isn’t technically stated. There are no rules barring Geoff from RSVP-ing for 7, so that’s exactly what he does. Sure he receives a few increasingly less polite emails suggesting he’d been mistaken but he doesn’t even bother opening them, doesn’t try to clarify that he is bringing his friends, his family, not his entire harem. Let them talk; they’d do it anyway. Plus, it’s not like the Fake’s aren’t all entirely too pleased with the suggestion, cackling hyenas who spend the next few weeks laying it on thick, batting their eyes and blowing Geoff kisses, picking out increasingly absurd meet-cute stories to tell his scandalised classmates. Between creating new identities and playing dress up in masks and suits they couldn’t be happier.

Masks or not they catch every eye in the room when they make their entrance and why wouldn’t they; Geoff and his unusual request must have been the talk of the rumour mill and identity hidden or not clearly this must be Geoff, it’s not like anyone else brought along 6 dates. As stage whispers hit a dull roar it’s obvious no one was prepared for what they were seeing, perhaps imagined instead stained tank tops and a string of strung-out baby mama’s, not expensively tailored suits and an attractively refined entourage. Paying the noise no heed Geoff swans into the room with Jack looking elegant on one arm, Gavin at his most Ken-doll glamorous tucked under the other, flanked on either side by Ryan, Michael, Jeremy and Ray, all dressed to impress.

Shock and jealousy aren’t good looks on anyone, let alone rich brats turned elitist yuppies, so Geoff’s classmates behave just as poorly as he’d anticipated, years and newfound maturity doing nothing to stop the tittering laughter, the sneers and judgmental looks, fake pleasantry and condescending questions. But then, his crew didn’t exactly play nice with them either.

Ray and Jeremy immediately beeline to the food table and bar, respectively, and each set themselves up and settle in for the night; loud, obnoxious and tactlessly talking about everyone around them. When asked about themselves or their relationship to Geoff they’re both frustratingly vague, Jeremy chattering away without saying much at all and Ray simply staring people down until they can’t bear the tension.

Michael and Ryan set off together to explore the room but quickly separate to accommodate their vastly different methods of surveillance. Ryan skulks into the background, ducking numerous attempts to catch his interest in favour of fading into unlit corners and empty nooks, frightening the life out of anyone trying to slip away for some private time. Michael, on the other hand, seems determined to be the life of the party, cheerfully making conversation only to laugh in the face of every so-called achievement, ruffling feathers and causing major offence wherever he goes.

Gavin slinks off like a man on a mission and doesn’t come back for over an hour, offering no explanation for the absence beyond a dangerously self-satisfied smirk. His work becomes obvious soon enough anyway, once the yelling starts; Geoff’s two main high-school tormentors, mentioned only in passing stories over the years, simultaneously having huge, public, relationship-ending blow ups with each of their significant others. What are the odds? Across the hall Gavin laughs, all tinkling glass and sparkling charm, smoothly working the room like Michael’s mirror opposite.

Jack stays at Geoff’s side all night, hackles raised into something abnormally cold and unimpressed any time someone comes up to speak to them, protective instincts in full force no matter how often Geoff claims to be unaffected. He fills her in on all the worst gossip about those who approach, and as the night progresses and general unease begins to spread Jack mellows, sinking back into something sweet and mocking, somehow even more unsettling playing docile arm-candy than she was rabid guard dog.

Throughout the night the Fake AH Crew remain a key topic of every casual conversation; they might have been regardless, even this far from Los Santos no one can get enough of their scandals, but with the huge heist pulled just last week there was no way to avoid it, everyone has their two cents, their praise and condemnation. It’s too funny, the whole crew killing themselves trying not to break character, to laugh or correct or manipulate the conversation but all their self-control is well rewarded in the end.

Half the room removed their masks less than an hour into the night; too difficult to eat and talk and drink in, too vain to keep their hard earned looks covered, so it’s not at all strange when the Fake’s start to follow suit. Jeremy and Ray start it, the newest member and the one caught on camera the least often, casually dropping their masks mid-conversation. They each get a confused squint or two, a double glance, a few individuals trying to place them, remember how they’d met before, why they were so familiar.

Next came Gavin and Michael, having goaded each other out onto the dance-floor they were playing as much as they were moving to the music, laughing and grappling and generally making a bit of a scene. They snatch off each other’s masks as they play and the looks double, because alone they’re each distinctive but together, together, people have seen those faces together, somewhere they’ve seen them and so often together..

Last is Jack and Geoff, more graceful than their counterparts and moving with far more purpose they reveal their faces in the centre of the room and, like a party trick, they instantly catch the whole room’s attention. Out of context, in ones and twos where they don’t belong, the members of the FAHC could be mistaken but no one in the country would fail to recognise Ramsey and Patillo, the kingpin and his right hand, rulers of the most well-known gang in the US. And here they stand, casually mingling at a high school reunion.

In the calm before the storm the crew gravitates back towards one another, can almost see the cogs turning around them, the lightbulbs flickering on in a slow ripple spreading out across the room, disbelief and the first hint of horror swirling together as people start unconsciously reaching for their phones. As Ryan slips back out and wanders over, the last still masked, always masked, the chatter seems to crescendo then crash into something still and almost silent as a room full of entitled trust-fund babies recognise their own terror.

Finally uncovered and flanked by his family Geoff’s grin creeps across his face, slow and violent and more confirmation than anyone needed as he lets the oppressive tension sit for a long moment, arms spreading out to his sides like a magician revealing a clever trick before he breaks the silence; Surprise motherfuckers.

Guns are pulled from jackets and from there it’s all running and screaming, no honour or courage, just a stampede for the exits to the sound of cackling laughter and the occasional aimless pot-shot. The Fake’s aren’t looking for lives, not worth the hassle really, and this job certainly has no monetary reward beyond the wallets Geoff’s filthy little thieves have no doubt absconded with, but the fear in the air is delightful and even the sound of incoming sirens can’t ruin the mood. If anything it only hypes them up further, all savage grins and ramping excitement as they make for doors, reloading their weapons and pumping themselves up for a whole new police force to terrorise, Geoff’s magnificent little miscreants.

On the way out they pass a wall of yearbook photos, blown up large and captioned with names and all the old superlative awards. Ryan stumbles to a halt and snorts, snatching one off the wall and tucking it into his jacket to take back to the penthouse, though not before flashing the Lads a glance at that all too recognisable face, sending them into peals of screeching laughter as they pour out into the night. Geoffrey Fink; Least likely to succeed.
