The singer has signed X-Factor finalist Jack Walton and is holding auditions for a new girlband
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson has launched his own record label.
The singer intends to launch the project in full in 2016. His new label has full backing from Sony and is a subsidiary of Simon Cowell’s Syco label.
Tomlinson’s first signing is X-Factor finalist Jack Walton. The 18-year old singer from Castleford was eliminated in week 4 of the 2014 series, coming in 11th place.
Tomlinson is also looking to launch a new girlband and is currently holding auditions for the group.
Speaking to The Sun, Tomlinson commented: “It’s absolutely great to be working with Syco on a label.”
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time, and to be given the opportunity to potentially give new artists a platform is an incredible feeling. I hope to sign some really exciting artists down the line.”
The news arrives one month after Zayn Malik’s departure from the boy band. Malik left One Direction in March due to stress induced by press speculation over his love life.
Simon Cowell recently described the moment he found Zayn Malik was leaving One Direction, joking to James Corden that he was “about to jump off a cliff”.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that One Direction had begun planning their next album.
The news was followed by the first official press shot of the band as a four-piece, with body language experts claiming that the picture shows signs of disunity in the group.
