Life Sentence - “Mom just left Dad.”

hooray-anime  asked:

Im deeply offended anime is just like the best. maybe you just havent seen the right ones. Have you seen Neon Genesis Evangelion? DeathNote? Clannad? Honey and Clover? Nana? K-On? or what about ghibli movies?

some people simply don’t like certain things and you just gotta accept that instead of trying to force them into liking the stuff you’re into

This is really more of an incohesive thought dump more than anything else (mostly bc it’s late and I’m tired and‘ll probs go to sleep right after.

Answering these together since its kinda the same topic. Short answer: I don’t know. Once again I need to reaffirm that my attachment to her isn’t quite based in the realm of rationale and logic, but there definitely are things I can think of.

She’s strong. She has a ton of physical strength and she’s a badass–but she’s also so much more than that. She’s an incredibly human character; hurt by her past, haunted by what might be the future, and she tries and tries to defy fate with all the strength she can muster even if its useless sometimes. In that regard she very much fits into the overall theme of the story about never stopping to struggle-very much like Eren.

She’s may be cold and cool on the outside, but truthfully she’s still so emotional inside, in some ways she’s a strong and grown woman, but in some ways still a young and frail child. And I love, love, LOVE emotional characters. I love it when more “distant” characters open up and let their emotions flow through, especially people like Mikasa, who I find to be so relatable, so easy to put yourself into their shoes, so easy to feel with. I love emotional characters, and I love having an emotional connection with them–I think that’s the best way to explain my excessive, un-defyable  love for especially Eren and Mikasa.

yeah, I found that weird too? It’s the first time I heard the word and had to google it.

It’s hard for me to say if that’s a common word in English or not since I don’t have contact with the day to day life of English speakers, but even the translation in Portuguese sounds weird tbh. (sounds like “android” doesn’t it?)

but again, it can be from anyone else around the globe so maybe it makes sense in anon’s mother tongue?

being multilingual like...

What people think it’s like:

  • *speaks multiple languages fluently on command*
  • *is very sophisticated*

What it’s actually like:

  • constantly speaking to people in the wrong language
  • managing to squeeze 3 or 4 languages into one sentence without noticing
  • gradually forgetting your first and second language, while not speaking anything fluently anymore. not even your first language is safe
  • Grammar? What grammar? Which grammar??!!
  • being permanently confused
  • can’t even order bread at a Danish bakery after 2 years of language training
  • cry and curse yourself for moving somewhere where they don’t speak English or your first language. but mostly cry. and weep

Mourning bride: “I have lost all” (and I’m just a tad bit perturbed that the flower is really reminiscent of Shiro’s color scheme)

Oh my god, in last night’s Bob’s Burgers, Bob takes Gene to a laser light rock show at the planetarium (super important to Bob, because it was his favorite when he was a teenager, and this is the last night before they’re closing the exhibit because it’s old and no one goes anymore, also it’s Bob’s birthday), and Gene has no idea what he’s in for, but he gets pumped for it anyway ‘cause Bob’s so excited about it, and finally they get in there and they’re watching it, and Gene has a sensory overload and kinda starts freaking out ‘cause he can’t handle it, so Bob takes him out and they sit in the car for a bit.  Gene’s angry because Bob didn’t tell him it would be so loud and scary, so Bob offers to play the album for Gene at a normal volume, and Gene starts to enjoy it, so he reclines the seats, takes out the cigarette lighter, tells Gene to pretend it’s a laser, and starts drawing in the air, explaining the plot to him (it’s like a full on Pink Floyd or Rush-esque rock opera about a bunch of robot overlords telling rockers that they can’t play music anymore, and one Rebel rising against them).  Gene gets really into it and decides he wants to see the finale of the laser show (which Bob regards as a life-changing experience), so they sneak back into the planetarium (there’s no re-entry allowed) with a few tricks that parallel the story from the album, and watch the climax of the show together (Bob fashions some earplugs for Gene out of a napkin).  On the way home, Bob’s asking Gene how he liked it, and Gene says “I loved it!”, Bob asks him to speak louder ‘cause his ear’s are shot, and Gene yells, “I LOVED IT, DAD”.  Bob yells back “I love you too, Gene”.

I FUCKING!!! CAN’T!!! DEAL!!!! WITH HOW GOOD THIS SHOW IS!!! I know i don’t talk about Bob’s Burgers a lot but this show is flawless and charming and gross and funny all at the same time, the characters are written like people with actual fears and anxieties, and unlike a lot of comparable shows, the comedy doesn’t come from the family being pitted against each other, it’s always the family against the world… I love it, I love it, it’s so pure and refreshing and still somehow manages to be funny without sacrificing it’s heart, and I fuckin’ love it, please watch Bob’s Burgers holy CRAP okay I’m done.
