“Walk away from me,” she said harshly. “Walk away.” His tension crested and fell; something in him seemed to collapse, water breaking against rocks. “I can’t,” he said, his voice low and broken. “God, I can’t.” - Lady Midnight, Cassandra Clare
When fitzsimmons eventually have a baby who do you think would be there when Jemma goes in labor? Honestly I've been sitting here thinking about hunter being the only person around at the time and I feel like it would be so funny 😂
*snort-cackle* omg yes, pls&thx. Hunter would completely Panic (yes, with a capital-P) while Jemma just tries to steer him in the right direction. at one point he offers to carry her and she just gives him this dry look, like, ‘I know I’m small, but I’ve got another person inside of me right now, and if you drop me you’ll have Fitz to answer to. do you really want to risk that?’ Hunter just drops his hands and is like ‘ah, no, not really.’ (what catches everyone off guard later is that Hunter is surprisingly great with the baby, even though he’s totally useless beforehand.)
also, in this scenario I love the idea of Fitz being somewhere on a mission - but May’s the only one around. so he is also panicking, but unfortunately all he’s got to calm him down is May. who refuses to deal with the panic at all. (I mean, while he thinks nothing’s happening, she’s calmly arranging for him to get safely home to Jemma as quickly as possible - not that she bothers to tell him this.) somehow mid-freak-out Fitz just looks up and all of a sudden he’s in the passenger seat of a quinjet, with May telling him ETA the Playground is 2 hours, and he’s not entirely sure how he got there but he buckles in anyway.
elsewhere, Skye is the last to know that Jemma’s gone into labor and, as Jemma’s maid of honor and pregnancy exercise partner, she is SERIOUSLY. UPSET. (she blames Hunter.)
