olympic champs

Random Fact: with exception to her pregger years and rookie year in '09, which to be fair was coached by Tony DiCicco, Amy Rodriguez has never failed to reach a championship game of any major tournament for both club and country. Philly Independence (runner up '10,'11). FCKC (champ '14,'15). Did not play Pro in '12 as the WPS dissolved or '13 for Ryan. Olympics (champ '08,'12) WWC (runner up '11, champ '15)... if there was ever a lucky charm in WOSO it'd be named ARod.

Oh my god this is the best. Thank you for that shinfo!!

Just catching up on some of the videos that came out during Worlds, I loved Charlie White as an interviewer and also as a commentator.

While I would love to see Meryl and Charlie come back and compete, I doubt it’ll happen as they both seem very content with their lives right now.

I listened to Charlie on Ice Talk and he said he always tries to find something positive even when a skater has had a rough or tough skate. I should also add that it tickled me that a Sochi Olympic champion was interviewing a fellow Sochi Olympic champ.

My new favorite Yuzu proves ice is slippery moment.

Lol at Miki, Suzuki, Javi, and Oda laughing at the Olympic champ incapable of staying on his feet.

I’ve wrestled with alligators,
I’ve tussled with a whale.
I done handcuffed lightning
And throw thunder in jail.
You know I’m bad.
just last week, I murdered a rock,
Injured a stone, Hospitalized a brick.
I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.

Rest in peace, Muhammad Ali, the greatest, Champion of Champions. A legend passed away this day. 1942 - 2016

Gumball is having dinner at the Fitzgeralds' house
  • Mrs. Fitzgerald: So, Gumball. How’s school going? Penny always gets straight A’s.
  • Gumball: Well, in my family grades aren’t that important. It’s what you *learn* that counts.
  • Patrick: Six times five. What is it?
  • Gumball: Um. Actually numbers don’t have much use in my future career. Olympic gold medal rocketsled champ!
  • Mrs. Fitzgerald: Hmm, I didn’t know the rocketsled was an Olympic event.
  • Gumball: Well, no offense lady but what you don’t know could fill a warehouse.
  • [gasps from the adults]
  • Patrick: Young man, explain yourself!
  • Gumball: Sorry. I have a kind of a short fuse…which some find charming! Speaking of charming, watching Channel 6 last night, I heard a rather amusing story. This character named Martin was feeling rather…randy, and he was heard to remark –
  • [scene cut to Gumball being kicked out]
  • Patrick: Don’t you *ever* come near my daughter again! Never have I heard such gratuitous use of the word “butt”!
  • Gumball: But – but – but –
  • Mrs. Fitzgerald: [plugging her ears] Make him stop, make him stop!
Trust the King of Ice

Yesterday when Team Yuzuru announce that Yuzu will use chopin as his SP for Olympics, most of his fans(fs fans) are whining bcoz it is a recycle program, 3 times in fact. People are saying that they are disappointed and said it was a wrong choice.
BUT to those people! Kindly remember this…
Yuzu is one of the greatest figure skater or the greatest of all time for a reason. The king knows his craft, he’s a genius, he knows what he needs to do to achieve his dreams. He has been doing that since he was a child, and he keep succeeding.

The reigning Olympic and World Champ, the 4x Grand Prix Champ, and sp/fs/total world record holder will fight for that GOLD next season. Lets keep calm and trust him cause he never disappoints. Lets pray for him to get that gold, even champion needs prayer. And also lets pray for this season to succeed, and all the skaters will enter the olympic games 100% healthy.

Why was Gabby coddled and given special treatment, so she'd be "motivated"? It's not like there weren't other girls that could have taken her place. She was talented and a big name, but at that point, and pretty much most of the time, totally replaceable. Why did she get special treatment? Is it just because she's olympic AA champ? If Aly or someone else wasn't personally motivated, I doubt Martha would have coddled them. And around trials you were def against Gabby making the team, now you 1/2

seem to think otherwise? So do others though. They bashed her, then others bullied her, & suddenly she’s a saint.& that slowly turned into them forgetting that they weren’t fans & defending everything they’d bashed.I was never a Gabby fan, but I just didn’t like her Gymnastics. When she seemed to get fame crazy & kinda lazy, I was less of a fan. I don’t get everyone who wasn’t on board with her, being like “I love Gabby, SLAY girl!“I’m tired of it not being ok to not like Gabby & be honest.

She’s not really “coddled” or given special treatment. Athletes are human beings, not robots, and they’re not always going to want to condition or do the same routine day after day. It’s really fucking hard to be an elite gymnast. Some are fantastic at working independently and knowing how to kick their drive into gear. Most need teammates or coaches to help them get to that point. If Aly had similar issues in the gym you can bet your ASS Martha would be all over figuring out how to make it work best for her. She’s not gonna be like “oh, a girl who has potential to be one of my top gymnasts doesn’t want to work out anymore, bye bitch!” She can’t like, force her to want to be doing gym, but she can make it easier for her to be successful by working with that gymnast’s personality or quirks. And same goes for any gymnast at the top of the pack. Gabby was a world silver medalist in 2015, less than a year after being back. Obviously Martha was going to try her best to invest in that talent, and if she thought Gabby needed more competitions to keep her motivation, then that’s what they did. You make it sound like Gabby wasn’t breaking 55 AA and had people doing everything for her lmao. She still worked really hard and put a lot into what she was doing. But I think had she been in a coaching situation more suited to her needs as an athlete/human, she would’ve come back even stronger. If Gabby came back in 2015 looking average compared to the other U.S. elites and showing zero ability to get back to full strength, Martha maybe wouldn’t have been so invested in trying to bring the best out of her because it would’ve been clear that she wasn’t going to reach her old levels. But in 2015, with almost a year to go before Rio, it looked like Gabby could eventually reach or come close to her 2016 ability. Physically, she probably could’ve made it happen even though mentally, she wasn’t really able to get to that stage. It’s obviously not Kittia’s fault…she’s a great coach. But she just wasn’t the right coach for Gabby.
