The artistic process of UK-based artist / architecture student, Oliver Shilling, is very organic and spontaneous. He often begins a piece before knowing what it will look like, which is a contrast to how he works in architecture. He likes to play with symmetry, transparency and colour to create something that can at once be surreal and beautiful. His main influence? “Nature; its beauty and its flaws, I think these are things everyone can relate to.” (interview with artist by ARTchipel Dec-2011)
