7x02

Let’s play a game: every time there’s a noticeable positive difference between MG and Beth’s writing, we all get a dollar. We’ll be S1 Queen family rich in no time.

Highlights

- badass mama bear Felicity. You go girl. Just…I’m so proud of her. She is fighting tooth and nail for what she loves and pulling zero punches. No one fucks with Felicity Smoak. I love I love I love. One of my favorite episodes of Felicity, by far.

- Gay or Bi William, I’m here for it.

- Roy refusing to talk about Thea…answers please

- Oliver’s GA gear on Lian Yu 20 years in the future…answers please

- Olicity supposedly abandoning William…hell no…answers please

- Oliver stabbing himself in the end…genius…sucky…but genius

- Oliver rooting around the prison computers with stuff Felicity taught him…bless

- Oliver getting in bed with Brick…dumb as hell

- John and Curtis being ARGUS’s bitches…ugh

- Felicity working with Watson…HELL. YES.

7x03…I got nothing from that trailer. I’m guessing some fever dreams on Oliver’s side, maybe an actual riot…stay alive, Oliver, that would be enough.

Author’s Note: I am so sorry for the long wait for this chapter! It has been very nearly done for a while, but a few scenes were giving me trouble! I hope you enjoy this long overdue update! Let me know what you think of it in the comments! Also, there are some references to characters from DC Comics in this chapter, and one is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. At last my love has come along
My lonely days are over and life is like a song.
At last the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up clover the night I looked at you.
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own.
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill I’ve never known, oh yeah
You smiled, you smiled oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last.

Awake and asleep, present or distant, Felicity was always with him. The one constant in his life.

Just Beneath the Surface: Chapter 3 Archive of Our Own
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
By Organization for Transformative Works

Summary: When an S.O.S signal is sent to the FBI from a woman named Felicity Smoak, Director Oliver Queen knows that she is in grave danger. He can’t help but notice the haunting similarities between what’s happening to her and what happened nine years ago; in thirteen unsolved cold cases that drove ex-agent John Diggle out of the bureau. With a race against the clock, Oliver enlists the help of his old mentor to reopen the investigation, and hopefully save Felicity’s life.

“Oliver said there’s an ARGUS plane on the other side of the island.” Felicity.

“It’ll take us all day to get there.” Diggle. “Anything could happen to Chase to set off the explosives.”

“Oliver said he wouldn’t kill him,” Felicity said, hanging on stubbornly to her optimism.

“Yeah, but that still doesn’t guarantee the explosives won’t go off,” Dinah chipped in.

“I still think we should wait for Oliver,” Quentin said. “If anything, we should look for his son.”

Samantha perked up. “I’m on board with that plan.”

Slade listened to all the chatter with half an ear as they each tried to come up with a plan. He remained silent, not because he had no opinion, but because he felt something. In his gut. Something wrong.

The short hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, his heart hammered in his chest. There was definitely something wrong, and that something wrong was coming fast.

“We have to go underground,” he shouted, silencing everyone.

They all turned as one to stare at him.

“Why?” Rene asked.

Without answering, Slade ran toward the only place he knew would be safe, not waiting for the others to follow. After a beat, he heard rapid footsteps behind him, but he kept his concentration on looking for one thing.

The entrance to an ARGUS prison block.

Slade had spent the last three years in a cell on the other side of the island, but if he knew ARGUS, he knew that they would be thorough. There was bound to be another block on this side.

“Where are you taking us?” Thea called out from behind him.

Slade didn’t answer.

“Slade!” Diggle shouted.

At last, Slade saw something metal rising out of the ground in the distance, maybe 400 metres away. His pace sped up as gooseflesh crawled up his neck.

“Run!” he shouted over his shoulder. “Run like the devil is on your heels!”

Sweat popped out on his brow as they finally reached the entrance. He wasted no time in wrenching the door open. “Get in!”

No one moved, to his everlasting frustration.

“We need to look for William!” Samantha cried.

“And the plane,” Rene added.

Slade grit his teeth and growled, “Get. In. Now.”

A grave look appeared on Diggle’s face, finally catching Slade’s bad feeling, and ushered Felicity before him. “Get in,” he repeated, and finally, they all began to move.

No sooner had Slade shut and locked the lid that the ground beneath them shook violently, throwing him off the ladder. Explosions sounded overhead, through the thick concrete. The floor shook as the shockwave reached them, but the walls held firm.

“Go deeper,” he commanded, getting up from the floor. “Through that door and down the hall, there’s a stairwell at the end. That will take us lower.”

They all turned to go, except for Felicity, who stood with her hand over her mouth and tears swimming in her eyes.

“Oliver…” she whispered.

Slade approached her slowly, getting in her field of view. “He’s gonna be all right,” he said, attempting to reassure her. “Kid’s got more than nine lives. He’s more worried about us, I’d wager.”

She blinked up at him, as if just realizing he was in front of her. After a tense moment, she nodded, and turned to follow the others.

Slade took one look back at the door above his head. “You better not make a liar out of me, kid,” he said, before following the others into the bunker.

anonymous asked:

You are the first and only writer I have read for this fandom. I love your work so much, I've re read all your Arrow stories twice (even the Firefly one even though I've never watched it). Do you have any favorite Olicity fics to recommend to keep me from going crazy my first hiatus? (I binged the first 4 seasons last year)

This is awesome!! Thank you! I’m super honored. And do I have recs? Oh yes, I have recs.

First rec isn’t actually a fic, it’s a resource… @theolicitylibrary. If you want recs, they’ve got ‘em. If you want a specific trope or rating or genre, they’ve got that, too. Have a hankering for a fic where Oliver and Felicity are business rivals? There’s a link for that. Where she’s the vigilante instead? There’s a link for that, too. Where one of them is a werewolf? Yup. They’re an amazing resource and you can lose days (and weeks and months) going through lists of alpha/omega tropes and rockstar AUs and friends-to-lovers fics.

But more specifically… how about I rec some authors, too? I haven’t been reading much lately - I spend all my time writing - so I’m more comfortable reccing authors I know are amazing and whose works I’m looking forward to catching up on. They’re all consistently excellent. This is by no means an all inclusive list.

@dust2dust34 - My co-writer for FiCoN and personal fav (though I admit to no small amount of bias). If you want smut and you want details and mining a scene for feelings, Bre is your girl. She has plenty of oneshots to choose from as well as some multichapter fics.

@machawicket - Look, I can’t overstate Danielle’s skills as a writer. My husband doesn’t even read my fic but he likes hers. Her writing is funny, sweet, sexy and heartbreaking in turn but it’ll never leave you unsatisfied. She’s a master.

@anthfan - Nikki is one of those writers that’s so good she makes you forget you’re reading a story, because it’s just something you’re living. It’s an experience. Her characterization is spot-on and her plots are super engaging. She writes both one-shots and longer stories. They’re all worth your time.

@hannasus - Susannah’s writing is the perfect balance of detailed exposition and tight narrative that lets you feel like you’ve experienced the whole setting in just a few lines. Add to that fully in-character characterization and interesting plots that keep you reading and you really can’t go wrong. I recommend reading her Something Like Fate series ASAP as she’s adapted it into the basis for an original novel (which she’s publishing later this year) and it may not be up on AO3 a whole lot longer.

@rosietwiggs - I can always tell Rosie’s work in just a few lines. Her narrative voice is so very distinctive and so gripping that it pulls me in effortlessly. I don’t believe she’s writing for Arrow anymore, but even her unfinished works are worth a read. I especially recommend The New Normal, Lengths and How The Mighty Fall In Love.

@supersillyanddorky06 - I’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard around about Matty’s writing because she’s right at the core of the Olicity fandom’s best known fanfics. With good reason. She’s prolific, plotty, smutty and evocative. If you have a weakness for Bratva!Oliver, I’d start here.

@jsevick - I first met Jaimie after reading her Jurassic Park AU (really!) and being both delighted and amazed that she could make it work. I’m extremely lucky to have had her help as my beta pretty much ever since. If you like my writing, she’s a big part of it (along with @alizziebyanyothername). While she hasn’t posted in a while, her stories are just fun and if you like Gilmore Girls, her Arrow AU for Gilmore Girls is a treat!

@realityisoverrated-fic - I have no idea how you would feel about Smoaking Billionaires, Anon (I personally love it), but I’ve got to very highly recommend her Infinite Love series. At 110 parts and counting, it deals extensively with Oliver, Felicity and Tommy’s family longterm, including their kids. It’s alternately hot, sweet, and heartbreaking. But, most of all, it’s just well-written and interesting. If you’re willing to read them as a triad, I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

@geneeste - I would pay for more of Caught a Long Wind. Quite literally. But, that aside, Genie is a top notch writer. Whether her one-shots, WiPs or brilliant, ongoing epic co-written work with @machawicket, everything she writes should be devoured.

@juliesioux - Julie uses the setting in a story as another character. There’s so much life to the world she puts her characters in that it practically breathes. Above that, she doesn’t shy away from hard topics. She will rush in head-first and dig deep to explore what her characters are going through. When you read her work, take her warnings seriously, but if you’re looking for a rich story to read that challenges you, she’s the perfect option to turn to.

@thatmasquedgirl - One of the most prolific Olicity fic authors (with 110 fics, including the absolute opus Technical Assistance). She’s consistently excellent, creative and she gives us as a fandom a whole lot to read. You can probably spent a huge chunk of hiatus happily buried in her work.

@entersomethingcleverhere - As a rule, I do not read first person stories. Not even when they’re published books sitting on shelves at my bookstore. I will break that rule for her writing. I like it that much. It’s heartfelt, moving, well-paced, and the connections between her characters are both real and evolving as you go.

@arrow-through-my-writers-block - Shelby is… well, she’s just fun! She’s a solid writer who never disappoints. She’s got quite a few one-shots and a few ongoing multi-chapters. She’s probably best known for Starstruck, but all of her work is worth reading.

@wagamiller - I just really love wagamiller’s work. Like a lot. There are very few authors I have on alert, but wagamiller is. Stories that make me laugh out loud are few and far between, but the 35B series surely did (as did @machawicket‘s Unbearable Hotness of Being, btw). Strong, sharp, witty writing that will leave you with a grin on your face.

@callistawolf - When I think of Callie’s work, I think of the fanfic version of sitting down with some hot cocoa and curling up with a warm blanket to watch a Hallmark Christmas special. She’s consistently excellent about finishing her work, which is lovely, and you can pretty much always count on a feel-good romantic ending.

@hopedreamlovepray - Writing one-shots that stick with your reader is hard. Keeping a story to 1-2k and still being impactful is even harder. She absolutely manages it every time. Hope27 (as she’s known on AO3, so you can find her) has something like a hundred Olicity fics. These are, in my opinion, absolutely perfect if you want to lose yourself in a story on the train to work or during your lunch hour.

@dettiot - Mel has a lot of great stories (like really great). My favorite is probably the “ink in my pen ran dry” series, but that’s a really tough call. Core Curriculum is super hot. The Felicity Stark series (crossover with Avengers-verse) is brilliant and fun and made me giddy while reading it. Beauty in the Breakdown is excellent. Jerry the EA series features one of the best takes on a relative OC I’ve read in fics. Love is Red made me squeal like a teenager with excitement (I’m not ashamed; it was warranted). And Two Men, Same Name (written with @melsanfo) is one of those that I am absolutely dying for the time to catch up on. While I’m at it, let’s rec Mel Sanfo, too. Her Masquerade is another novel-length fic absolutely worth a read. You really can’t go wrong with either of these ladies.

@ash818 - Ash is freaking awesome. So, here’s the thing. Her Legacy series is mind-blowingly good. I have to admit, I’ve only read The Man Under The Hood in the series (this is intentional, for a reason you’ll see in a moment, but you need to read all of her work ASAP, okay? You do). This series… you’ve got future, married Olicity with teenage children as they continue their mission. There’s action, plot, heartbreak, angst, love, everything you could want. It’s in first person from their son’s perspective which is something I would probably never have clicked on in the first place had it not come highly recommended, but good lord is it amazing. All of her characters have life. All of them have depth. Her OCs are fully formed and vital to the story without overshadowing characters you already know. I haven’t read the later stories because after I decided to continue on with FiCoN verse, I didn’t want to inadvertently shade my views on Olicity’s growing family and continuing mission with anything she did in her series. If anything I do happens to run parallel to her work, I want to know beyond any doubt that it’s 100% coincidence. But her stories are something I’m absolutely itching to get to read… eventually. Her writing is excellent.

@tinaday3w - I’m tempted to say “JUST READ IT” but that’s probably not enough… But really, just read it. No one does slow burn like Tina. Victorian era AU with pirate!Oliver? Yes, please. Hello. I’ll take two.

@emmilynestill - She’s just so good. And sooooo hot. I don’t know if you know this, Anon, but writing a good sex scene is hard. You don’t want your reader pulled out of the scene by wondering if a position is actually possible or when underwear came off (or if it did) or how gravity isn’t making them collapse. Like… smut is difficult. But it reads so effortlessly with Emmilyne’s writing. And, beyond that, she weaves it in beautifully with plot that keeps you wondering what’s next and emotion that builds and grows in an organic way. Orgasms and organic feelings. Honestly, what else could anyone really want?

@ruwithmeguys - Jess will gut you and leave you asking her to do it again. Indecent Proposal… just… read the warnings and be ready and read it with a lot of time on your hands and probably in chunks because ouch. But still… read it.

@academyofshipping - Sarah has this dry sense of humor that comes out in her fics that’s as clever as it is fun. Fluffy, funny, smart, cute and rich with feeling, Sarah’s writing is consistently strong.

@someonesaidcake - Felice is fantastic for completed, multichapter AU fics. She has quite a few and I’m pretty sure every single one included smut at some point (if that’s your thing) as well as plot.

And… I’ve spent like an hour and a half on this which was a lovely diversion for my day. I know I’m forgetting amazing people but I have to stop here. When in doubt, take the title of a fic you like, google that name in quotes along with “rec list” and find someone’s list where that story was included, then explore the others. Or, check the bookmarks on AO3 of an author you like, that’s a great place to mine for fics, too. And, again, I can’t rec @theolicitylibrary enough. That said… happy reading, Anon! We’ll get through this hiatus together… through fic and sheer force of will. ;-)

Okay, but imagine Felicity is walking home after a late shift.

She’s been in witness protection for five months and wasn’t allowed to bring anything with her, not a single crappy thing, so she doesn’t have a car. William met her at the coffee shop earlier, as he usually does, doing his homework with his mom, keeping her company, reminding her why all of this is worth it if it means keeping him safe and protected. But he doesn’t stay because she’s working until 11 and he has school the next day, so she sends him home on the last bus in that direction, so it’s just her now. It’s not a long walk, and she doesn’t have to do it often, so she takes advantage when it pops up, needing the solitude where she doesn’t have to put up the bright front for William.

The streets aren’t as sketchy as Star City, they’re definitely not the Glades, but they aren’t exactly super safe either, so she’s got one hand in her pocket around her bottle of mace, a cooling latte she made herself in the other hand, a bag with a days-old muffin tucked under her arm.

Her feet are tired, her back aches, her face hurts from pasting on a smile so much. Usually it’s not that hard, she’s always aimed for the positive side of things, but this is hard, way harder than she could’ve ever anticipated. But one thing that helps, she thinks, is having her “disguise,” if it can even be called that. Her long hair dyed pink, the backwards cap, overalls, all designed to be the complete opposite of Felicity Megan Smoak-Queen. She’s not that person anymore. She can’t be. That decision was taken away from her, and so her new look - new clothes, new digs, new everything - makes all the hard decisions she’d been forced into making as a result of that horribly stupid fucking decision easier.

Like turning down the date a customer had asked her on earlier.

No, that hadn’t been easy. That had been hard, because it could never happen. Her heart wouldn’t let it.

Bitterness burns in her chest. That, and anger. It pulses through her, blurring the world. She bites her tongue, so hard it nearly bleeds before she’s calm again.

Felicity is about halfway home when the hair on the back of her neck rises.

It’s an instinct she’s spent years honing in her vigilante work, one that she one hundred percent trusts when it says someone is following her. She turns her head, trying to hear anything, but there’s only her footsteps, and the faint rustle of foliage starting to succumb to the cooler weather.

But there’s someone there, she knows it.

Just as quickly as the certainty set in, though, it disappears

And then a shadow steps in front of her.

Cupcakes-5x22 fic

A/N: Y’all…I don’t even know where this came from. It’s total and complete ridiculous fluff!!!! Please enjoy!!

Felicity rushed through the door of the bakery ten minutes before the sign said they closed, the smell of sugar and dough hitting her before she was even fully inside.

“I am definitely in the right place,” she muttered to herself as she headed straight to the counter even though her suddenly growling stomach threatened to derail her mission. Her idea to throw Oliver a surprise birthday party was a good one, of that she was certain, but actually having to plan and organize the event was something else entirely. Luckily Thea had agreed to do the heavy lifting when it came to decorations which left Felicity in charge of food.

“Hi, how can I help you?” the woman behind the counter only looked slightly perturbed at having a customer barge in so close to closing.

“I need cupcakes,” Felicity said enthusiastically, eyes scanning the display case but not seeing anything she liked.

“We can pretty much do whatever,” the woman assured her, catching on that she hadn’t spotted what she wanted.

“Like maybe something chocolate and fudgey with green frosting?” she asked with a hopeful lift of her eyebrows. “But not like grass green or mint green, more like…Green Arrow green.”

The woman laughed, pulling out a pad to write down the order, “Your little boy is into superheroes? How many dozen?”

“Oh no, I don’t…I don’t have a son, little or big.”

“Sorry! Daughter. No reason girls can’t like Green Arrow either.” she said with a grin, leaning in a little closer, “I mean…have you seen the way he fills out those leather pants?”

Felicity felt her face flush as her hands curled tight, lips pressed into a straight line, “I um…I have not noticed. Nope. Never noticed that. Is it a good fit? I mean…sorry, never mind, we were discussing cupcakes for my non existent children.” she trailed off under her breath.

The woman looked at her a little strangely but nodded, “Chocolate fudge with green frosting. Any sort of decoration?”

She was about to say no when a thought crossed her mind, “I don’t suppose you have little arrows or something do you?”

“I have just the thing.”

Felicity watched as she looked through a drawer behind her, before turning back holding a small arrow attached to a toothpick.

“It’s perfect!”

“This will be the first Green Arrow party we’ve done. I might have to take some pics and put it on our instagram. Maybe you could share your own and tag us?”

“That uh…that might not be so easy.” Felicity stammered.

“Yeah, some parents are weird about their kids pictures being put on the internet, but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask. Now how many dozen?”

“I’ll take two dozen,” she said quickly though she knew they’d never eat that many, but if there were leftovers that would not be a problem. Then a thought hit her and she sighed, “You know what, make half of those vanilla. Rene doesn’t like chocolate and Curtis will only eat the icing anyways and–”

“I thought you said you didn’t have kids.”

Caught Daylight, Goddamn Right (AO3)

He watches the bombs go off, and he thinks about throwing himself across her in the back of a limousine.

That’s the last time he had been this terrified of losing her. It was also the last time she had kissed him with a lifetime’s worth of promises on her lips. It shouldn’t have been this way again. (It should have been at a wedding.)

Felicity!”

He’s desperate on the comms as he watches the forest smolder, and it doesn’t escape him that, to send her name across the airwaves, he has to keep pressing his hand to his heart.

Not so hypothetically, but actually, a date

for my friends on twitter who told me I should write this and know I can’t say no to them :)

Felicity opened her refrigerator in search of the leftover takeout she could’ve sworn was still in there somewhere. To her dismay, all she was greeted with was mostly empty shelves. She was not a big grocery shopping person to begin with, and with everything they had been dealing with over the past couple of weeks, she couldn’t remember the last time she pushed a cart through those fluorescent lit aisles.

“How did Oliver manage to be the Green Arrow and keep our refrigerator stocked,” she muttered to herself as she checked a container of yogurt to discover it had expired months ago.

Her eyes caught the box from Oliver’s party the night before and she slid it out, remembering that there had been a few leftover slices of cake. They were on summer break after all, so cake was an acceptable dinner… right?

She was debating eating it straight from the box versus preserving some of her dignity and getting a plate when she remembered that she didn’t have to spend her evening sitting at her counter eating cake alone.

Setting the box down and reaching for her phone, she hit her first number on speed dial and waited while it rang. Which wasn’t a long wait since he picked up before the first ring had finished.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes… Am I only allowed to call when I’m in danger?” she teased.

There was a pause. “Well, no I just—“

“Do you want to come over tonight?” She needed to get the words out before he gave her enough time to talk herself out of it. She could practically see his eyebrow rise in that way it did when she said something that could have multiple interpretations and she hastily added, “There’s just leftover birthday cake and I was about to eat it but I realized that you should probably get dibs on it since it was for your birthday.” And also, I just really want to see you. “I promise this isn’t a ruse. But if you’re busy I understand and—”

“No,” he interrupted her. “No I’m not busy. I’m just finishing up at City Hall and then I can be right over.”

The corners of her mouth flicked up in a small smile at the eagerness he was trying so hard and yet failing to hide in his voice.

(What could’ve happened…)

Oliver smiled.  “Okay,” he replied, the word so soft it barely registered.

The air between them was electric. He didn’t want to leave, not just yet, like always. The feeling was getting harder and harder to ignore. He knew why they’d pushed this off - their promise to talk after the island hadn’t included his entire life being turned upside down by the sudden inclusion of his son in his life - but things were settling… slowly, but surely.

And it was getting harder to say goodbye to her each time he saw her, harder to say goodnight, to walk away from her.

He wanted her and he was done hiding it. He’d buried it for so long - too long - but now the door was open again and he wasn’t losing this, losing her, not for anything.

And yet… he was almost okay with waiting, just a little bit longer. There was something about the way that electricity between them crackled. It danced over his skin, searing his nerves with an awareness of her every single move that made his heart race. They were taking their time, exploring their relationship in a new way, and it was both frustrating and…

Intoxicating.

He wanted her, absolutely, but the waiting made it somehow more intense.

With another smile, Oliver stepped closer. He was going to move around her to go home, keep that space there, maintain the buffer…

But instinct flared and he moved towards her instead.

His hand reached for hers, his fingers sliding over her palm. Felicity immediately reacted, curling hers around his, turning into his touch with an ease that made it hard to breathe. God, how could one tiny touch set him on fire like that? He inhaled sharply and his senses flooded with her scent. His eyes fluttered shut, the urge to take that final step and turn towards her flooding him. He wanted to hug her, to hold her close, to bury his face against her neck and just breathe her…

He didn’t, though, because they weren’t there.

Yet.

But they would be. He knew it with a certainty he could taste.

And she knew it, too, judging by the way her breath stuttered as she leaned into him.

Oliver clasped her hand in his and kissed her cheek.

It was soft, gentle, quiet, meant to say everything he couldn’t just yet, but it was so much more than that: it was a promise in and of itself. For them. For their future.

They moved at the same time.

Her front barely grazed his arm, but it was enough to burn him, almost as much as his lips where they were pressed to her skin. She warmed under his touch, her head turning into his. Her glasses brushed his temple as loose strands of her hair grazed his nose. His stubble slipped over her and Felicity gasped, her hand sliding further into his. The tiny puff of air coupled with her nails suddenly scraping his wrist had a shiver dancing down his spine.

It was over as fast as it began… but it also somehow stretched on for a perfect eternity until they both reluctantly pulled away.

“Goodnight,” he whispered. The word ghosted over her ear and she licked her lips.

“’Night,” she breathed.

They let each other go and went to their separate lofts, both knowing that someday they would be going to one, together…

Soon.

5x20-filler fic

A/N: I tried to put this off and go to bed because I have to get up in a few hours and catch a flight, buttttttttttt my brain is an asshole. So that didn’t happen and I wrote this which is just a little filler fic after Oliver and Felicity get pulled out of the hole. Thanks for reading this from beyond the grave since we’re all dead with feels and new sexy times!

Enjoy!

The winch pulling in the rope attached to Digg moved quicker than Felicity expected. With the blood from Oliver’s wound seeping through her top all she could think about was getting to the surface and getting him help.

When they reached the ledge, hands were there to pull them up and over, Digg first, turning fast to sit back and brace his feet to help haul Oliver to solid ground.

Her back scraped painfully against the side as Oliver did his best not to crush her, panting with exertion and blood loss. For a long moment they all just lay there, silent, thankful to be alive.

Dinah’s hands pressed into Felicity’s shoulders, holding her upper body still while her legs still dangled in the open air.

With a grunt she tried to plant her arms and push back but they collapsed beneath her, the effort it had taken to hold on to Oliver and balance her weight as best she could had taken the last of her strength.

“Hang on there, Blondie, we’ve got you,” Rene said with a forced easiness that somehow made her feel better as he slipped his hands under her arms and lifted her backwards the final few feet, the threat of her falling back into the elevator shaft finally eliminated.

“Thanks,” she panted, rolling on her left hip to look towards Oliver and Digg.

Oliver was sprawled in the same spot where he’d landed, face slick with sweat, his breaths too quick and with a faint blood stain already marking the concrete beneath him.

“He needs help,” she said almost frantically as she reached for him, her hand going for his face just as he turned his head to look for her, “I don’t think the stitches held–”

“Lyla’s got a med team standing by and transport to ARGUS,” Digg said as he hauled himself to his feet, “We’ll get you both checked out.”

“I’m okay,” Oliver said weakly, struggling to push himself to his elbows.

“You are so far from okay,” she countered, letting some of the fear she’d experienced in the last few minutes take control of her voice.

He gave her a wan smile, one that was just for her as he covered her hand and squeezed it hard, “We got out. Together. I’m okay.”

She held his gaze as long as she dared, the lump in her throat too thick to speak over. And then Digg was holding out his hand for Oliver to take, making sure he was on his feet and mostly steady before he let go.

Rene moved to his side with one look from Digg, “Need an escort, Hoss? It’s a bit of a walk back.”

Felicity’s stomach lurched when Oliver just nodded his acceptance and laid an arm over Rene’s shoulders. Oliver was hurting much worse than he was letting on.

“I don’t suppose you brought my extra chair?” she asked, looking up at Digg.

“You’re stuck with me I’m afraid,” he replied with a mock shrug before bending down to scoop her up.

He fell into step right behind Oliver and Rene, Dinah having moved up to flank Oliver’s other side just in case he fell.

“Thanks for coming for us,” she said softly, letting her head rest against his shoulder.

“Always, Felicity.”

By the time they reached ARGUS Oliver was barely able to stand causing Lyla to bark orders for the medical team to come to them.

In seconds, they were surrounded and before she could blink, he was being maneuvered to a gurney as doctors swarmed him.

“Oliver!” she cried moving as if she could somehow break out of Digg’s hold and go to Oliver’s side before he was rushed away.

But Digg moved in closer making a space for them. Oliver’s head rolled heavily to the side, and to her great relief his eyes were open and locked on hers.

His hand reached out, swaying and unsteady but she lunged to grab it, not paying attention to how Digg had to adjust his hold so she wouldn’t fall.

“I’m not going anywhere,” she whispered fiercely, the past eighteen months of their lives suddenly becoming so clear to her.

He smiled, and then his eyes slipped shut and the fear she’d felt before spiked in her chest as they began to roll him away.

“He’ll be okay, Felicity,” Digg said reassuringly.

Her eyes stayed on him until he turned a corner and she could no longer see him. A sharp gasping breath left her lungs and it took everything in her not to break down. That could come later.

“I think I’ve got everything I need to at least get you a temporary fix on your implant,” Curtis began, as he approached them.

“Let’s go get you patched up while Oliver’s with the doctors,” Digg suggested low against her ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him the hug she’d wanted to give him since she’d first seen him on that rickety ladder trying to get to them.

“You really think he’ll be okay?” she asked shakily.

Digg pulled back to look her dead in the eye, “I know he will. He’s got too much to live for, even if he doesn’t know what that all is yet. Though something tells me that maybe he’s finally figured it out.”

Revelations & Confessions

AN: Hours later and I’m still reeling from that episode. it was so raw and emotional. Truthful. This is my attempt to process that.

(Set somewhere post 5x17)

Oliver sat on the cot in front of her, arms supporting his weight on his knees, head hung low. He knew she was there, he always did. Still, he refused to look up at her, to meet her gaze.

It had been this way for weeks. He’d shut himself off, emotionally, physically, much more that he had ever done before, in the times she’d known him. Then, he would always glance up, make sure that she knew that she mattered to him, in some small way.

Now, he stiller than a statue, frozen in misery.

“Oliver.” Felicity whispered, stepping towards him. Still he refused to move.

Cautiously, she approached him, her heels sounding a knell with each stiletto strike. As though every step was another scar on his skin. She settled on the floor in front of him, kneeling at his feet. This way, she could peer up at him, find his eyes and see what he was thinking.

If she knew what the wound was, she could heal him. It was deep, and unseen, but had broken Oliver to the point that he didn’t spring back by his own power or the encouragement of her or John.

Still, he didn’t move. He gave the illusion that she wasn’t really there, that perhaps she was an illusion of his mind. An echo of his mistakes.

Felicity reached out and grasped his hands, his fingers between her palms. They were cold, dry and brittle, smooth as a stone. Ridges of calluses mapped a pattern of hardship and toil, orators of his heroic acts. The same scars that revealed the instrument of darkness he held tightly to.

The instant her hands made contact with his, he shuddered, pulling away. Quickly, she reclaimed her grip.

“Don’t.” He whispered, voice hoarse from disuse.

Lost and found

[Post 5x23 spec fic]

This is me processing the last few minutes of that finale because it’s the only way I’m making it until October. Enjoy!!

Just in case…. Just in case… Just in case…

He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the destruction ripping apart the island, the island that seemed to never stop taking from him, as her voice echoed in his head. That innate protectiveness that drove him was screaming at him to move, to save them— somehow save them, no matter how irrational it seemed that there was a chance they were still alive, but it was like all the oxygen had left his body when Chase pulled that trigger. His body felt heavy, his feet glued to the spot as he clung to his son. The one part of him he knew for certain he hadn’t lost and couldn’t bear to let go of for even a second.

“Oliver…” William croaked, “Dad?”

The sound of his shaking voice unfroze him and he dropped to his knees to look him in the eye. He couldn’t find the capacity to form words yet, shock still numbing his brain as explosions continued to echo through the air, so he just squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. Like he had done so many times with Felicity when words failed him.

He tried not to think about the words he should have said to her before he let her walk away. Words he might have forever lost his chance to say.

William’s eyes drifted over his shoulder to the fire blazing on the shore, “My mom… is she…”

“I don’t know.” He wouldn’t give him false hope, wouldn’t placate him with, “she’s going to be okay,” wouldn’t assure anything else that he couldn’t be certain of. He had already made that mistake. Pain, the kind he never wanted his son to feel and would give anything to spare him from, flickered in his eyes as his small hand grasped his arm tightly.

Just in case…

The coms. He was afraid to try, afraid to be met with silence. Closing his eyes, he tapped that spot over his heart.

Fic: Wait

Prompt: “When was the last time you slept?”

“When was the last time you slept?” Oliver asks, walking into the bunker after a long day at City Hall.

He hadn’t expected Felicity to be here, considering he’d told her to take the day off this morning after they pulled an all nighter following up on a lead that turned out to be another dead end. Since she is still wearing the outfit she had on when he left this morning, he knows she hasn’t left.

“What day is it?” Felicity asks, not looking up from her screen.

“Tuesday,” he says, looking around the room for any sign that she’s at least eaten, but all of the garbage cans are empty, so he knows she hasn’t. The only sign that she’s consumed anything is the coffee cup in front of her and the empty K-Cups on the counter near the kitchen.

“Tuesday, right,” she mutters, clearly distracted by whatever it is she’s doing. “And what day did we go after Valenzuela?”

Oliver looks at her in concern before saying, “Saturday.”

She’s got to be kidding. She can’t have been up that long. How is she even functioning right now?

A 6x07 spec fic based on recent photos from the Arrow set.

**CONTAINS POTENTIAL SEASON 6 SPOILERS**

(If you haven’t been seeing all the pics from the last few days, don’t read!)

“So was this why your relationship ended?”

Felicity gaped. “Wow, you guys just dive right in, don’t you?”

The woman offered a smile, and Felicity almost believed it was genuine. Except she was still a reporter asking questions that even Felicity didn’t like talking about. And it was her own love life.

“Well, the people of Star City were very taken with ‘Olicity,’” the reporter replied. Felicity bit the inside of her lip to stop from smiling at the name her and Oliver had been dubbed with. Olicity. She honestly had to wonder what her life was sometimes. The lady pushed her recorder closer to Felicity, like if she pressed hard enough the answers would fly out like word vomit. “We were all hoping you’d make it. And now you and the Mayor are back together and he just came out as the Green Arrow, so it stands to reason that his nighttime activities might have played a role in the demise of your relationship before.”

W-o-w.

“Well, we, uh…”

Caged (Strangers in the Night #12)

Prison AU. She’s the beautiful prison doctor. He’s the most dangerous inmate. Stuff happens.

Hope I’m not rusty. Read Strangers in the Night Series | Tumblr | AO3

It hadn’t been the brutal scars crisscrossing his torso, slashing over his face. It hadn’t been the muscles rippling as he’d taken a step back into the compound. It hadn’t been the way he’d stilled and coiled his body like a honed weapon.

It had been those eyes. Blue, deep, dirty blue eyes that had whispered hot words and screamed pleasure to hers. Eyes that had been trained on her since the moment she had stepped around the compound, walking safely behind the bars that separated the inmates from visitors. Eyes that had tracked every step that she’d taken towards the infirmary with the guard at her side. Eyes that had, upon hearing catcalls slammed her way, slashed through the crowd and silenced them with a gaze.

Right before coming back to her.

She had trembled. And then she’d been out of his sight.

They stationed a guard at the door to keep an eye on everything. Felicity was happy with that. Until the day he walked in - the inmate with the dirty blue eyes. He walked into the small infirmary exactly a week since she’d been there and settled himself on the bed, turning his eyes to her.

Felicity swallowed, the focus of his gaze, his entire being on her in a way that made her very, very aware of the blood in her veins. She slowly made her way to his side, knowing she should speak and ask him about his injury but unable to. Without a word, he silently raised his hand towards her, his flesh just inches from the side of her breasts. Aware, hyperaware of that minuscule distance, Felicity blinked down at his palm, seeing the huge cut that slashed across it horizontally.

But as big as the cut was, it was shallow, just on the surface, bleeding enough to determine a visit to the doc but not enough for stitches. Keeping her eyes away from his, even though she could feel his own pulsating on her, she kept her head bent and turned his palm towards her better.

The moment her small, capable fingers came in contact with his large, rough hand, his thumb twitched before he spread his hand open better for her. Felicity took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of his sweat and musk and detergent, the scent of antiseptic and her own mild perfume, and got to work cleaning and dressing the wound.

And all the while, he watched her.

And all the while, she wondered who cut him.

The next time she saw him was in the compound. She was walking towards her little zone in the morning and some inmates were in the area, exercising, and doing whatever inmates did. Her eyes found him in a second, sitting to the side on a bench, legs spread, elbows on knees, scarred face to the sun and those dirty eyes of foreplay and fantasies on her.

She held his gaze for a moment and kept walking just as an inmate yelled crudely at her, thrusting his hips and jerking his right hand in the air towards her. Felicity flushed and quickly walked off.

An hour later, she was treating the previously crude, presently contrite inmate for a broken right hand and fractured ribs.

Multi-Chapter

*Forever Is Composed Of Nows Oliver & Felicity future toddler shows up because the future is to dangerous for her in season 2. THE BEST fanfic I have ever read. Words can not describe how awesome this is, just read it, even if you hate future fics give it a try.

*Monsters in the Dark Lets just say I have re-read this more than any other fic ever. Felicity has the ability to see guardians, spirits that protect the majority of people. Some guardians talk, others don’t. Oliver Queen’s is a sassy, chatty beast. She starts helping Oliver, forming Team Arrow, and getting drawn into the pull that is Hurricane Oliver.

Felicity was preparing herself for the guilty verdict and a life in prison. Except that the night before her final trial, a masked stranger offers her another option. The opportunity to disappear, live a life in the shadows. A chance to get justice for others, justice that wasn’t awarded to her.

Remove All Doubt “Really shouldn’t that list have been titled ‘Oliver Queen’s Top 5 Ways To Turn You On?”When a group of Oliver’s former flames decide to spill the illicit details of his private life, Felicity cleans up the mess but not before her babbling inadvertently lays down a challenge.

Times Like These A man from Felicity’s past she never thought she’d see again suddenly appears in Starling City, bringing with him memories she’d rather keep forgotten, and a new threat. Felicity is Kidnapped Fic.

I Could Get Used To This Oliver offers Felicity a place to stay while she looks for a new apartment.

Fifty Bucks Says When Oliver Queen lets Felicity Smoak move in as his platonic roommate, Tommy, Thea and Digg don’t believe for a second it’ll last. So of course they’re going to try and make money off of it.

Although I can’t promise you will love all these fic’s as much as I have, I sincerely encourage you to at least try the ones with a * star next to them, they will give you all the feels, and they are still my favorite fics of all time :) Check out my blog if you would like & please send me recommendations for more fics  :) @overwatchsmoakk
