Time for a story - A night among friends

Not daring to move or to release the breath he was holding, he listened to the noises coming from behind the door that were echoed over the baby monitor too. Except for Addie’s deep and even breathing and the soft melody that came from the music box he had switched on because he knew it calmed Addie down and helped her staying asleep, it was all quiet, though.

Loving you - Olicity One-Shot

Summary: Felicity wakes up to Oliver caressing her stomach and their unborn child, growing in her womb.

Felicity slowly woke from her sleep, fingers drifting over her stomach beneath her tank top, her back was pressed into a warm chest. She hummed quietly burrowing further back into the warmth, her hand reaching behind her.

“When did you get home?” her voice was filled with sleep.

“About twenty minutes ago.” Oliver’s hand moved over her stomach, drawing a random path with his fingers.

Her husband’s touch made a shiver course through her and she cupped the back of his head, drawing him down as she twisted around, pressing her lips to his in a welcoming kiss.

She pulled away a moment later, frowning. “Where’s William?”

“In his room, working on his homework. He said you fell asleep while the two of you were watching the Avengers.” There was amusement lacing Oliver’s voice. “Wasn’t it you who said it was a crime to fall asleep during the Avengers. I vividly remember you telling me that when you decided to educate me in all things Avengers related.”

“Yes but I have an excuse, your child is making me tired all the time.” she pouted up at him. “I’m not even that far along. I mean, I’m barely showing.”

Oliver’s eyes shined when she mentioned their child growing inside of her. “You and her need rest.”

“Her?” Felicity echoed. “And you know its a girl how?”

“Because if the world knows what is right and good and perfect, it’ll give me another you.” He moved out from behind her and down the couch, she made room for him as he moved down her body settling between her legs and laid his head softly against her stomach.

Felicity ran her fingers through his hair smiling at his words. “And if I wanted another Oliver.”

Oliver lifted his head with a smile that made his whole face light up. “Well, my little angel is gonna need a brother. We’ll wait a year then have our boy.”

Felicity gave a small laugh. “Just how many children do you plan on us having?“

“As many as your willing to give me.” Oliver couldn’t think of a better life than with Felicity, William, two or three little girls that look just like their mother and a second son who was the perfect blend of the both of them.

Felicity hadn’t really considered having more than one or two children before she learned she was pregnant but now that she was and she loved her child so much already, she couldn’t say she didn’t want what Oliver wanted because she knew she would love every single one of them unconditionally just like she loved the one growing inside her. Like how she loved William even if he wasn’t biologically hers. “How about we take it one pregnancy at a time.”

“I can work with that.” Oliver pushed her shirt up to beneath her breasts, pressing his lips to her bare stomach, tracing the pattern his fingers drew.

“What are you doing?” Felicity asked, moving her hands from his hair to rub his shoulders.

“I’m showering my girls with affection and love,” he replied in between kisses to her stomach.

Felicity felt a warmth in her chest that spread through her whole body. “I love you.”

Oliver looked up his eyes softening and he carefully moved back up, his arms wrapping around her and carefully rolled there to where Felicity laid on top of him. He cupped the side of her neck, thumb brushing her cheek. “I love you so much.” his arms tightened around her, holding her to him as he kissed her.

Felicity opened her mouth to him as their tongues tangled in a passionate kiss until they were both breathless and panting, their foreheads pressed together.

“Thank you.” Oliver murmured.

Felicity’s brow furrowed. “For what?”

“For loving me. Being loved by you is everything I ever needed.” His eyes were filled with adoration and love so much love.

“I’ll always love you. Loving you is the best thing I’ve ever done.” Felicity smiled pressing another kiss to his lips then his heart. “You, William, and our baby are everything to me.”

Oliver smiled, and he couldn’t help as his hand drifted between them, going right back to caressing her stomach. “You’re everything to me and so much more.” She was his salvation, his light in a sea of darkness.

Felicity smiled, pressing another kiss to his heart and snuggling deeper into him. She looked forward to the family they were building, the hopeful future ahead of them. And all of it was possible because of how deeply they loved one another.

Their road was a long one, filled with obstacles they had to overcome but she wouldn’t change any of it. Everything was how it should be, they were together and their family was expanding.

She was Happy. Oliver was happy. Finally, everything was as it should be.

The Proposal (an Olicity fic)

Summary: When Felicity Smoak finds herself in a bind, she enlists the help of her assistant Oliver Dearden to help her keep her from being deported and losing her job. The problem is, in order to do so, they kind of have to get married…

A/N: I’m so close to finishing the next chapter of The Donor I can taste it, but I figured I’d post this in the meantime. I’ve literally had this sitting in my Google docs since August 2016. It was originally one fairly large first chapter that I’ve broken down into three. After these three chapters are posted I don’t know when the next update will be, but I will circle back to it. Promise :)

Read on AO3

Felicity Smoak ignored the burning of her muscles, pushing herself harder as early morning sun began to bathe the living room in its pinkish-yellow glow. The mechanical sounds of the elliptical created a harsh juxtaposition to the sunrise outside the floor to ceiling windows of her apartment. She hated cardio, but it was a moment of peace at the start of what would no doubt be a very busy day. A moment to herself.

Felicity wasn’t the type of woman who got many moments to herself. She took what she could get, but, honestly, she liked it that way. She was career-oriented and rarely had time for anything—or anyone—outside of work.

Her mother had never understood.

“That’s all you do is work,” she’d argue. “Work, work, work, work, work, work, work.”

But that’s just who Felicity was. It’s who she’d always been. Since college, since… Cooper. She’d turned to work to keep her busy and, well it made her happy, she enjoyed it. Why wouldn’t she? Work was a constant, it was always there for her, unlike many of the people in her life. And Felicity was good at it. Her recent promotion to Vice President of Palmer Tech had won her a spot on a 30 under 30 list. She was a well respected genius in her field who was currently dominating a very testosterone rich environment and she was happy.

Felicity quickly finished up on the elliptical and headed for the shower. She had plenty of time before work, but she wanted to get there early. Today was an important day, and she was, after all, a busy woman.

She’d no sooner stepped off the elevator onto the executive floor, than her assistant was handing her a cup of coffee. It was a to-go cup from her favorite coffee shop and she took a long sip before reaching for the files he was holding.

“Are these the reports from R&D?” she asked, heels rapping on the tile as she moved quickly towards her office.

Oliver pulled the door open for her, following her inside. “Yes. And the latest Gideon update—the one you asked for—is on top.”

Felicity nodded, dropping the folders onto her desk and taking another sip of coffee. She placed it on the desk, followed by her bag. The folders from last night’s paperwork joined today’s folders on her desk, then she pulled out her tablet and sat down to get to work. That’s when she noticed a loopy, flowing script on the side of her coffee cup. She picked it up, looking at the message.

“Who is Carrie Cutter and why does she want me to call her?” she asked, glancing up at her assistant.

Oliver actually blushed. “Sorry,” he said ducking his head. “She must have thought that one was mine.”

“Would you like me to save it for you?” she asked, with a teasing smile.

Olicity Fic Rec (Part 1)

Hey everybody! I have been wanting to do a fic rec for a while, but I haven’t been able to find the time to do it. Luckily now that school and finals are over, I finally can! I kinda tried to organize this fic rec by categories and stuff and I got really carried away lol, but I hope you enjoy!

SOME OF MY FAVORITE FICS (Not necessarily recent fics, just fics I LOVE (not all of my favorites bc we’d be here for days), and for the recent fics that are also my favorites, I put them in the recent section):

Sportsmanlike Conduct by @mogirl97: Overall one of my favorite sports AU’s! It has both fluff and angst, and I literally couldn’t stop reading it! I originally read it when it first came out, and each update made me so happy! Not to mention, hockey is literally my favorite sport (and I may or may not be a Flyers super fan) so this fic was especially fun to read! It all begins in college, when Felicity meets Oliver Queen, a handsome and talented hockey player! They hit it off immediately, and their relationship is so good, but of course, things get in the way! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Such an amazing fic!!

Times Like These by @anthfan: I REREAD THIS EVERY SINGLE NIGHT I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING (i literally just re-read it and finished it before I started making this post)! If you have free time, go read this fic, and if you don’t have free time, drop what you’re doing, make time, and go read this fic! This fic is so good, and all of Oliver and Felicity’s interactions are so well done. I actually only came across this story a few months ago, and I am so mad I didn’t find it sooner, but now that I have read it, I can’t stop reading it over and over! It begins with Felicity’s stalker and cousin, Nate, coming back into her life, and of course, Oliver and Dig doing everything they can to protect her. SO GOOD. SO SO SO SO GOOD. I’m not gonna lie, this fic made me cry, and I rarely ever cry, so that should tell you how AMAZING this fic is!

The Firebird by @supersillyanddorky06: Am I gonna rec every single one of Matty’s fics? Yes. And the Firebird is NO EXCEPTION! This fic was recently finished (ending was super amazing) and if you’re looking for an amazing, riveting fic to read, go READ IT RIGHT NOW! I literally would not put this fic down when I first read it, and everytime I go back and re-read it, I read it from start to finish because its SO GOOD(lol the amount of HW i’ve been able to complete has gone way down since I started reading matty’s fics). This fic is an Al-Sahim story, but has Oliver in Felicity’s house every night, not saying a word, and watching Tv with her, after Felicity finds Oliver about to kill someone one night. Basically, Oliver starts seeking Felicity after that night, and you’ll have to see what happens! Honestly tho, I don’t know how to describe this fic (it’s too amazing to put into words), so just go READ IT!

Forever is Composed of Nows by @dust2dust34 and @so-caffeinated: I’m pretty sure everyone has read this fic, but that’s because it’s only the best thing to ever exist! I read this fic a while ago, but lost it, and when I found it again, not only was it completed, but there was a SEQUEL and I SCREAMED OUT LOUD BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY! Such a good fic, and as a person who doesn’t even like children, I fell in love with Ellie Queen (believe me that is saying a lot, like i hate kids, but this story made me absolutely love Ellie) ! This fic has so much amazing fluff, and good angst, and just a wonderful wonderful plot. I love having the Queen fam in it, and every single chapter is just so good. It begins with Ellie Queen, Oliver and Felicity’s daughter, being brought into the past to escape Zoom, when Felicity and Oliver are not together, and haven’t even accepted their feelings for each other. SO GOOD. Such a great idea for a fic, that was made into a beautiful story, and I love it so much!

With our Backs to the Wall (Darkness will Fall) by @theirhappystory: ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES LIKE I CAN’T EXPLAIN GUYS ITS SO SO GOOD!! I am the biggest sucker for Army AU’s and age differences and this fic touches upon both of those and does it so well. Every single moment in this fic I absolutely love, and I really can’t put into words how good it is. You have to read it. You just have to. It starts with Oliver returning from war, coming back to a home with Felicity, who is looking much different and more mature then when he lost saw her. Oliver struggles with keeping his feelings and thoughts in check, and it is GLORIOUS! GO READ IT! I LOVE THIS FIC SO SO SO MUCH!

Or Forever Hold Your Peace by @katanabaabe: Such an incredibly angsty and beautiful fic, that you won’t be able to put down! I came across this fic a long time ago, and I am still just as obsessed with it now as I was then. I loved how this story was done, and I loved the way that Oliver and Felicity’s relationship plays out. I LOVE ANGST, and this fic had such well done angst it was impossible to put down. It begins with Oliver comforting Felicity after she is very upset over what happened with her fiancé, Ray Palmer, and things escalate. Such a good fic!

Where There’s Smoak There’s Fire by FelOllie @littlered-sourwolf: THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING FIC! I have re read this story countless times, and I think it gets better each time. I love, love, love, the way Felicity and Oliver’s friendship plays out, with tons of sexual tension and teasing, and the angst (oh my god the angst is so good guys) all just is written together so beautifully you have to go read it! It begins with Oliver and Felicity, five years after the count took her, being the best of friends. I don’t want to spoil too much, but all I can say is READ IT because you will not regret it! Amazing amazing story!

The Phoenix by @supersillyanddorky06: This fic is actually one of my favorites of all time! Literally everything in this fic is so well done and so well written! It’s sort of like an arranged marriage, but Felicity is blackmailed into the marriage by Oliver, after three years has gone by since the last time they saw each other. Oliver was like a major dick to her, and broke her heart, leaving her to hate him for all this time, until he shows up forcing her into a marriage. SO MANY GOOD THINGS happen in this fic, and I’d honestly be surprised if you haven’t heard about it, but because it’s so so so so so amazing, I had to rec it! GO READ IT RN!! (ALSO THERE IS A SEQUEL CALLED THE PHOENIX RISES AND THE LAST UPDATE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE KILLED ME SO I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AS WELL!!)

The Crow by @thealternativesource and @poisonangelmuse: One of the first fics I ever read, and totally just blew my mind away. I was actually more excited for the updates of this fic then new episodes of Arrow, and I go back and re-read this story all the time! The Crow is honestly just so well written and so captivating, you’re going to be hooked from the first chapter. The story begins with Felicity convincing Oliver to work together to take down China White, but when Anatoly finds out that there is a woman staying in the house, they have to pretend to be in a relationship. So. Damn. Good. YOU HAVE TO READ!!

Blood Hands by @dust2dust34: Everything written by Bre is amazing, but this is hands down my favorite fic by her! I absolutely love the way Oliver and Felicity are written in this fic, and as always, John Diggle is the best. I have re-read this fic so many times, and it is just absolutely amazing! It all starts when Felicity begins looking into the Bratva, despite what Oliver says, and before you know it, we find out Felicity is being watched by the Bratva! I also love how it incorporates the Bratva world with the Arrow world, and it makes for such a good fi! I don’t want to give anything away, but it is just so good, and I highly recommend reading it right now (you won’t be sorry). SUCH A GOOD FIC I LITERALLY CANNOT TELL YOU HOW GOOD JUST GO READ IT!

Pacing at Night by @walker-oliciter: I just re-read this fic again today, and it made me so so happy! I absolutely can’t say enough on how good the story is, and how well it is written. The plot is not only super interesting, but so well weaved together with the romance! This is a fic I have been following for a while and every single update makes me so giddy I drop everything I’m doing and I read it right away! The fic is about an unplanned pregnancy between Felicity and the Bratva captain Oliver Queen. Of course there are lots of obstacles, one of them being, Oliver and Felicity are not a couple, and that the Bratva world is dangerous! So so captivating, and I love the way Oliver and Felicity are portrayed! I JUST LOVE THIS FIC SO GO READ IT OKAY?? Such an amazing story and I can’t wait for the next update!!! I love it so much!!

Can’t Escape This Now by @callistawolf: I LOVE THIS FIC! Such a good balance of angst and happiness, and this fic is literally everything I want in a fic. Seriously, when I first started reading it, it was everything I hoped for in the arranged marriage AU, and it only exceeded my expectations with each chapter and was just so damn good! It’s actually a Mob AU, not a Bratva one, and starts out as Felicity and Oliver getting an arranged marriage. So. Much. Tension. SO GOOD! I have re-read this story so many times, and if you like fabulous writing, and an amazing arranged marriage story, GO READ IT! Such a good story!

Who Else Would it Be but You and Me (Forever and Eternity) by @sarcasticfina : Everything written by @sarcasticfina is absolutely amazing (i could have a fic rec for just her work), and this fic is just one example of how incredible of a writer she is! I constantly go back and read this story, and every time I do, it makes me smile just as much! I’m a huge sucker for Olicity High School AU’s, and this one is done so well I don’t stop smiling the entire fic. It’s a one shot of Felicity and Oliver’s friendship, starting from when they were just kids, and their friendship is so beautiful. Of course, they are more than just friends, and stuff begins to happen! SO WELL WRITTEN AND SUCH AN AMAZING STORY! If you are looking for a fic thats amazing and not super long, then go read this because it is just so damn good and you will not regret it!

Be Still and Know that I’m With You (Be Still and Know That I’m Here): by @sarcasticfina : I couldn’t resist recommending this fic as well because this fic is so beautiful and brought me to tears and is just really really amazing! I could go on about how incredibly the writing is, but I really just suggest you go and read this fic! It is angsty and painful, but so just beautiful at the same time. I loved it, and everytime I read it I cry, but the tears are SO worth it!

Post 5x20 Spec Fic by @skcolicity: I loved this fic! I absolutely love @skcolicity ‘s writing, and this fic is one of the many that I love to read (although no matter what fic you read by her, you will be super amazed by) This is a short and lovely post 5x20 fic, that I don’t want to say too much about because I’m afraid I’ll spoil it, but for me, it’s what I wish was cannon on the show! Amazing fic, and also GO READ IT!

Steady, Reassuring Rhythm by @wherethereissmoak: I really love all the drabbles written by @wherethereissmoak but this one is my favorite, because not only is it amazingly written, but it just makes me happy, and I loved the way it was done. It’s super sweet and short, and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed if you read it! Wonderful fic!

Russian Sunshine and Other Terms of Endearment by bluesuedeshoes (Can anyone help me find the tumblr?): This is a really well written collection based on prompts, and all the fics in it are really good! There are some excellent smut pieces as well, and also just a nice range/variety of fics! For some reason, I love reading drabbles on rainy days, drinking some tea, and this is just the perfect drabble series for that! I highly recommend! The Predator by @supersillyanddorky06:  OKAY SO I’M PRETTY SURE EVERYONE HAS HEARD OF THIS FIC BECAUSE IT IS BEYOND BELIEF PHENOMENAL BUT I’M GONNA REC IT BECAUSE IT DESERVES TO BE RECCED. I can’t even explain how goddamn amazing this story is! I was hooked from the very first chapter, and with each chapter I literally squeal I get so excited, and read it immediately. Lol true story, I was at a recital for my friend, I saw the update, and I went into the bathroom to read it ! I will not apologize, however, because this is just SUCH AN AMAZING READ! The most recent chapter was so amazing, I have re read it so many times I’m pretty sure I could recite it for a crowd! It’s a mob AU where Oliver and Felicity are part of two different mobs, but have to work together, except Oliver hates Felicity, and she has no idea why. GO READ IT! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FIC! I can go on all day about how I would cross oceans to read this fic, but instead you should all go read it!

Keep it Professional by @mogirl97: Another amazing fic by @mogirl97! This fic makes me so incredibly happy, every single chapter just makes me smile! I really love Bodyguard AU’s, and this one is  just so well done. The writing is really, really good, and the plot and storyline is really nicely developed. I really admire fics where Oliver and Felicity are a huge part of the storyline, but there is also a lot of other relationships and things going on, and this fic does an amazing job of that! It begins with Felicity’s family hiring her a bodyguard, which is non-other than Oliver Queen! GO READ IT YOU WON’T REGRET IT AND IT WILL BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE!

Queen of Hearts by @anthfan: THIS FIC KILLS ME!!! I don’t even know how to put into words how amazing this fic is! The last two updates made me so so happy, and I get so happy every time this fic is updated! The writing is really nice, and the entire idea/storyline is brilliant, and really well executed. I love pregnancy AU’s, especially when the couple isn’t together at the time of the pregnancy, and the way Oliver and Felicity come together is so great! THIS IS JUST SUCH AN AMAZING FIC I LOVE IT SO SO MUCH!

I Bet These Memories Follow you Around by @dettiot: HOW DO I EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DRABBLE SERIES? I don’t think it’s possible to explain how much I love it! I love @dettiot ‘s writing, and I really highly recommend this fic for anyone who is looking for a good drabble series! I LOVE THESE DRABBLES! GO READ!

Take a Little Piece of My Heart (and Keep it for Yourself): by @sarcasticfina: This drabble series is full of amazing fics and amazing, and I literally love reading it so much! A really good read, and I highly recommend!

Trust Me by @felicityollies : THIS FIC IS SO GOOD! Some of the best smut I’ve ever read, and there is a really interesting plot in this story as well! If you’re looking for good smut, this is the place to start! Excellent fic!

A Light in the Dark: Felicity Smoak met Oliver Queen when she had just turned eighteen years old. He was twenty eight at the time, and had just returned from Russia. They both had dark pasts, but somehow, managed to fall in love over the course of a year. Flash forward five years, everything has changed. Felicity hates Oliver Queen - he is the enemy, but when her life is in danger, and everyone has turned against her, the only one who she can trust is the one person she has hated for four years.

Olicity Drabble Series: Just a small little drabble series, with only two fics, but I plan on writing more, and I accept prompts! First one is about Oliver finding out Felicity is dating Carter Bowen, and the second is of Oliver and Felicity dancing (after he tells her she looks beautiful).

There were so many more fics (both favorite and recent) that I wanted to rec, but I have decided to spread it out over multiple recs just for the sake of making things easier, and so I don’t overwhelm anyone lol. I’ll be tagging them as “gina’s fic rec” and I’ll try to do them once a month if I can!

This one sorta got away from me, I didn’t mean to write so much (oops) (I didn’t realize this would take me three hours).I hope you all enjoyed the fic rec! I love every single one of these authors and fics so much! Thank you to everyone who writes fics, you are all so amazing! I hope you guys liked this fic rec!

xox Gina! <3

Cupcakes-5x22 fic

A/N: Y’all…I don’t even know where this came from. It’s total and complete ridiculous fluff!!!! Please enjoy!!

Felicity rushed through the door of the bakery ten minutes before the sign said they closed, the smell of sugar and dough hitting her before she was even fully inside.

“I am definitely in the right place,” she muttered to herself as she headed straight to the counter even though her suddenly growling stomach threatened to derail her mission. Her idea to throw Oliver a surprise birthday party was a good one, of that she was certain, but actually having to plan and organize the event was something else entirely. Luckily Thea had agreed to do the heavy lifting when it came to decorations which left Felicity in charge of food.

“Hi, how can I help you?” the woman behind the counter only looked slightly perturbed at having a customer barge in so close to closing.

“I need cupcakes,” Felicity said enthusiastically, eyes scanning the display case but not seeing anything she liked.

“We can pretty much do whatever,” the woman assured her, catching on that she hadn’t spotted what she wanted.

“Like maybe something chocolate and fudgey with green frosting?” she asked with a hopeful lift of her eyebrows. “But not like grass green or mint green, more like…Green Arrow green.”

The woman laughed, pulling out a pad to write down the order, “Your little boy is into superheroes? How many dozen?”

“Oh no, I don’t…I don’t have a son, little or big.”

“Sorry! Daughter. No reason girls can’t like Green Arrow either.” she said with a grin, leaning in a little closer, “I mean…have you seen the way he fills out those leather pants?”

Felicity felt her face flush as her hands curled tight, lips pressed into a straight line, “I um…I have not noticed. Nope. Never noticed that. Is it a good fit? I mean…sorry, never mind, we were discussing cupcakes for my non existent children.” she trailed off under her breath.

The woman looked at her a little strangely but nodded, “Chocolate fudge with green frosting. Any sort of decoration?”

She was about to say no when a thought crossed her mind, “I don’t suppose you have little arrows or something do you?”

“I have just the thing.”

Felicity watched as she looked through a drawer behind her, before turning back holding a small arrow attached to a toothpick.

“It’s perfect!”

“This will be the first Green Arrow party we’ve done. I might have to take some pics and put it on our instagram. Maybe you could share your own and tag us?”

“That uh…that might not be so easy.” Felicity stammered.

“Yeah, some parents are weird about their kids pictures being put on the internet, but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask. Now how many dozen?”

“I’ll take two dozen,” she said quickly though she knew they’d never eat that many, but if there were leftovers that would not be a problem. Then a thought hit her and she sighed, “You know what, make half of those vanilla. Rene doesn’t like chocolate and Curtis will only eat the icing anyways and–”

“I thought you said you didn’t have kids.”

Arrow Ficlet: Caught Daylight, Goddamn Right

post-5x23. Because the comms.

Title from “22 (OVER S∞∞N)” by Bon Iver.

Caught Daylight, Goddamn Right (AO3)

He watches the bombs go off, and he thinks about throwing himself across her in the back of a limousine.

That’s the last time he had been this terrified of losing her. It was also the last time she had kissed him with a lifetime’s worth of promises on her lips. It shouldn’t have been this way again. (It should have been at a wedding.)

He’s desperate on the comms as he watches the forest smolder, and it doesn’t escape him that, to send her name across the airwaves, he has to keep pressing his hand to his heart.

Not so hypothetically, but actually, a date

aka, what could have happened if Chase’s minions had been so kind as to hold off on their kidnapping spree an extra 24 hours

for my friends on twitter who told me I should write this and know I can’t say no to them :)

psa: this is unbeta-ed and it’s past my bedtime, so read at your own risk of grammatical errors lol

Felicity opened her refrigerator in search of the leftover takeout she could’ve sworn was still in there somewhere. To her dismay, all she was greeted with was mostly empty shelves. She was not a big grocery shopping person to begin with, and with everything they had been dealing with over the past couple of weeks, she couldn’t remember the last time she pushed a cart through those fluorescent lit aisles.

“How did Oliver manage to be the Green Arrow and keep our refrigerator stocked,” she muttered to herself as she checked a container of yogurt to discover it had expired months ago.

Her eyes caught the box from Oliver’s party the night before and she slid it out, remembering that there had been a few leftover slices of cake. They were on summer break after all, so cake was an acceptable dinner… right?

She was debating eating it straight from the box versus preserving some of her dignity and getting a plate when she remembered that she didn’t have to spend her evening sitting at her counter eating cake alone.

Setting the box down and reaching for her phone, she hit her first number on speed dial and waited while it rang. Which wasn’t a long wait since he picked up before the first ring had finished.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes… Am I only allowed to call when I’m in danger?” she teased.

There was a pause. “Well, no I just—“

“Do you want to come over tonight?” She needed to get the words out before he gave her enough time to talk herself out of it. She could practically see his eyebrow rise in that way it did when she said something that could have multiple interpretations and she hastily added, “There’s just leftover birthday cake and I was about to eat it but I realized that you should probably get dibs on it since it was for your birthday.” And also, I just really want to see you. “I promise this isn’t a ruse. But if you’re busy I understand and—”

“No,” he interrupted her. “No I’m not busy. I’m just finishing up at City Hall and then I can be right over.”

The corners of her mouth flicked up in a small smile at the eagerness he was trying so hard and yet failing to hide in his voice.

(If you haven’t been seeing all the pics from the last few days, don’t read!)

“So was this why your relationship ended?”

Felicity gaped. “Wow, you guys just dive right in, don’t you?”

The woman offered a smile, and Felicity almost believed it was genuine. Except she was still a reporter asking questions that even Felicity didn’t like talking about. And it was her own love life.

“Well, the people of Star City were very taken with ‘Olicity,’” the reporter replied. Felicity bit the inside of her lip to stop from smiling at the name her and Oliver had been dubbed with. Olicity. She honestly had to wonder what her life was sometimes. The lady pushed her recorder closer to Felicity, like if she pressed hard enough the answers would fly out like word vomit. “We were all hoping you’d make it. And now you and the Mayor are back together and he just came out as the Green Arrow, so it stands to reason that his nighttime activities might have played a role in the demise of your relationship before.”

“Well, we, uh…”

5x20-filler fic

A/N: I tried to put this off and go to bed because I have to get up in a few hours and catch a flight, buttttttttttt my brain is an asshole. So that didn’t happen and I wrote this which is just a little filler fic after Oliver and Felicity get pulled out of the hole. Thanks for reading this from beyond the grave since we’re all dead with feels and new sexy times!

The winch pulling in the rope attached to Digg moved quicker than Felicity expected. With the blood from Oliver’s wound seeping through her top all she could think about was getting to the surface and getting him help.

When they reached the ledge, hands were there to pull them up and over, Digg first, turning fast to sit back and brace his feet to help haul Oliver to solid ground.

Her back scraped painfully against the side as Oliver did his best not to crush her, panting with exertion and blood loss. For a long moment they all just lay there, silent, thankful to be alive.

Dinah’s hands pressed into Felicity’s shoulders, holding her upper body still while her legs still dangled in the open air.

With a grunt she tried to plant her arms and push back but they collapsed beneath her, the effort it had taken to hold on to Oliver and balance her weight as best she could had taken the last of her strength.

“Hang on there, Blondie, we’ve got you,” Rene said with a forced easiness that somehow made her feel better as he slipped his hands under her arms and lifted her backwards the final few feet, the threat of her falling back into the elevator shaft finally eliminated.

“Thanks,” she panted, rolling on her left hip to look towards Oliver and Digg.

Oliver was sprawled in the same spot where he’d landed, face slick with sweat, his breaths too quick and with a faint blood stain already marking the concrete beneath him.

“He needs help,” she said almost frantically as she reached for him, her hand going for his face just as he turned his head to look for her, “I don’t think the stitches held–”

“Lyla’s got a med team standing by and transport to ARGUS,” Digg said as he hauled himself to his feet, “We’ll get you both checked out.”

“I’m okay,” Oliver said weakly, struggling to push himself to his elbows.

“You are so far from okay,” she countered, letting some of the fear she’d experienced in the last few minutes take control of her voice.

He gave her a wan smile, one that was just for her as he covered her hand and squeezed it hard, “We got out. Together. I’m okay.”

She held his gaze as long as she dared, the lump in her throat too thick to speak over. And then Digg was holding out his hand for Oliver to take, making sure he was on his feet and mostly steady before he let go.

Rene moved to his side with one look from Digg, “Need an escort, Hoss? It’s a bit of a walk back.”

Felicity’s stomach lurched when Oliver just nodded his acceptance and laid an arm over Rene’s shoulders. Oliver was hurting much worse than he was letting on.

“I don’t suppose you brought my extra chair?” she asked, looking up at Digg.

“You’re stuck with me I’m afraid,” he replied with a mock shrug before bending down to scoop her up.

He fell into step right behind Oliver and Rene, Dinah having moved up to flank Oliver’s other side just in case he fell.

“Thanks for coming for us,” she said softly, letting her head rest against his shoulder.

“Always, Felicity.”

By the time they reached ARGUS Oliver was barely able to stand causing Lyla to bark orders for the medical team to come to them.

In seconds, they were surrounded and before she could blink, he was being maneuvered to a gurney as doctors swarmed him.

“Oliver!” she cried moving as if she could somehow break out of Digg’s hold and go to Oliver’s side before he was rushed away.

But Digg moved in closer making a space for them. Oliver’s head rolled heavily to the side, and to her great relief his eyes were open and locked on hers.

His hand reached out, swaying and unsteady but she lunged to grab it, not paying attention to how Digg had to adjust his hold so she wouldn’t fall.

“I’m not going anywhere,” she whispered fiercely, the past eighteen months of their lives suddenly becoming so clear to her.

He smiled, and then his eyes slipped shut and the fear she’d felt before spiked in her chest as they began to roll him away.

“He’ll be okay, Felicity,” Digg said reassuringly.

Her eyes stayed on him until he turned a corner and she could no longer see him. A sharp gasping breath left her lungs and it took everything in her not to break down. That could come later.

“I think I’ve got everything I need to at least get you a temporary fix on your implant,” Curtis began, as he approached them.

“Let’s go get you patched up while Oliver’s with the doctors,” Digg suggested low against her ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him the hug she’d wanted to give him since she’d first seen him on that rickety ladder trying to get to them.

“You really think he’ll be okay?” she asked shakily.

Digg pulled back to look her dead in the eye, “I know he will. He’s got too much to live for, even if he doesn’t know what that all is yet. Though something tells me that maybe he’s finally figured it out.”

One word prompt fic

AN: If you follow me on twitter (smoakbettsqueen) you’ll know I’ve been in a writing rut lately unable to write anything, I asked some awesome friends @callistawolf and @latinasmoak for some prompts and thus begins this little mini series of fics all from their prompts that take place post 523.

“Mr. Mayor, your two o'clock is here.” Marlene’s voice echoes across Oliver’s large office, but before he can query her on what two o'clock the intercom goes dead.

He frowns in confusion his hand moving to his daily planner, his hardcopy daily planner. His forehead wrinkles in confusion as he flips through the well worn pages, trying to find out who he’s supposed to be meeting with. He really hopes it’s not the Hub City mayor, he’s almost certain they are meeting on Friday at two, the large stack of regulations and agreements that he’s suppose to go through before that meeting -that he’s already rescheduled twice- is currently staring back at him. The mayor of Hub City is  never going to want to meet with him again if he’s not even prepared for this meeting.

“Why did I buy you that fancy state of the art tablet if you’re just going to be a caveman and use that planner?”

A familiar teasing voice calls out, halting all of Oliver’s thoughts, much like she’s been doing for the past 6 weeks, or 6 years if Oliver is being honest with himself.

He looks up and can’t help but smile as Felicity glides into the office the little floral romper she’s wearing rustling as she walks. She’s holding a tray with two large cups of coffee in one hand and a brown paper bag in the other.

The cuffed sleeve of her romper has slipped off and Oliver can see the tan curve of her shoulder. He’s already tempted to press his lips to against the soft curves and pull down the V of Felicity’s flora romper and explore the rest of her tanned skin, all too familiar of just how far that tan really goes, or doesn’t go as the case may be.

“Your two o’clock at your service, Mr. Mayor.” Felicity says cheekily as she does a slight curtsy with her gifts despite the fact that she’s in a romper and not a dress.

She takes one look at Oliver’s expression though and backs away from him when he takes a step towards her. “No. No. No. Keep those thoughts in your head mister.”

“I didn’t say anything!” Oliver protests his smile widening when Felicity holds the hot coffee and what he assumes are chocolate croissants -his absolute favourite-  like a shield in front of her.

“No, but that face and that smile. I know that smile.” Felicity accuses, “you’ve got dirty on your mind. That is not the kind of services I am bringing. We will not have a repeat of what happened last week.”

Lost and found

[Post 5x23 spec fic]

This is me processing the last few minutes of that finale because it’s the only way I’m making it until October. Enjoy!!

Just in case…. Just in case… Just in case…

He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the destruction ripping apart the island, the island that seemed to never stop taking from him, as her voice echoed in his head. That innate protectiveness that drove him was screaming at him to move, to save them— somehow save them, no matter how irrational it seemed that there was a chance they were still alive, but it was like all the oxygen had left his body when Chase pulled that trigger. His body felt heavy, his feet glued to the spot as he clung to his son. The one part of him he knew for certain he hadn’t lost and couldn’t bear to let go of for even a second.

“Oliver…” William croaked, “Dad?”

The sound of his shaking voice unfroze him and he dropped to his knees to look him in the eye. He couldn’t find the capacity to form words yet, shock still numbing his brain as explosions continued to echo through the air, so he just squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. Like he had done so many times with Felicity when words failed him.

He tried not to think about the words he should have said to her before he let her walk away. Words he might have forever lost his chance to say.

William’s eyes drifted over his shoulder to the fire blazing on the shore, “My mom… is she…”

“I don’t know.” He wouldn’t give him false hope, wouldn’t placate him with, “she’s going to be okay,” wouldn’t assure anything else that he couldn’t be certain of. He had already made that mistake. Pain, the kind he never wanted his son to feel and would give anything to spare him from, flickered in his eyes as his small hand grasped his arm tightly.

Just in case…

The coms. He was afraid to try, afraid to be met with silence. Closing his eyes, he tapped that spot over his heart.

A Perfect Match (Olicity, 6x09 spec fic)

(based on this promo for tomorrow)

There was a world outside of their little bubble, she knew that. Well, she was pretty sure. Kind of sure. Maybe about eighty percent positive. Alright, maybe sixty percent.

It was hard to gauge much of anything past the way her husband was looking at her right now.

Her heart fluttered, sending a stream of nervous excitement dancing through her veins. It wasn’t the bad kind of nervous, though, not like the one she’d come to associate with Oliver for so long, for all those months when things had been… off.

No, this was anticipation.

They swayed together, the music swirling around them. Oliver’s hands rested on her hips, moving minutely every few seconds, like he had to keep touching her, had to feel her. She was vividly aware of every single move, of the heat in his palms, the tingle his fingers left behind where they brushed over the top of her backside, her waist, the bottom of her ribs before going back down. It was more intimate because they’d skipped the whole ‘can’t see each other before the wedding’ thing considering they were already married before they decided to have an official ceremony. He’d zipped the dress up for her after he’d kissed his way from her hip up to her shoulder.

“My wife,” Oliver whispered, pulling her closer.

Felicity smiled, cupping his face before running her fingertips through his soft stubble. His lips curled up in response and she traced the corner of his mouth with her thumb before sliding her hand up to his temple, then down and around his ear. She dragged them down the side of his neck teasingly, delighting in the goosebumps that followed her, before she stroked his cheek again.

“My husband,” she responded. He sighed, so utterly content. “So how does it feel to be Mr. Smoak?”

Oliver chuckled. “It feels good. Very good. Although…”

“I’m just thinking about all the paperwork I’ll have to file to make it official,” he said with a sigh. “Mayor Oliver Smoak. Mr. Oliver Smoak. Mrs. and Mr. Felicity Smoak.” She laughed, making him grin even more, her joy reflected all over his face. “I have to do it pretty quick here, I already ordered the monogrammed towels.”

“Oh good, they’ll match the monogrammed robes I had made. Mr. Smoak right here,” Felicity said, sliding her hand down to tap right over his heart before returning to stroking his face. “A perfect match.”

“A perfect match,” Oliver repeated, the smile fading into a quiet wonder.

He stared at her, like she was the answer to everything, and maybe she was, she thought, because she was quickly discovering that he was the answer to so many things, questions and thoughts and feelings she didn’t even know she had, much less was capable of.

“Yep,” she whispered. “A perfect match. Bathrobes, towels… you and me.”

Oliver let out a tiny serene, “You and me.”

The world definitely faded this time, leaving just them in a perfect bubble where for those few seconds, everything was perfect. They danced, holding each other, never letting go, knowing they would never have to ever again.

No kissing.

“Hmmm no. No kissing.”

Oliver pulls back, “What do you mean, no kissing?”

“I don’t want to have to fix my face.  And if we kiss, you’re going to have lipstick all over you.”

“I don’t care.”

“William noticed, last time, the lipstick on your shirt, remember?” Oliver does.  Uncowed, he leans in kissing her ear, lightly sucking on the fleshy lobe, before moving towards her jaw line.  She arches her back leaning into him, eyes closing involuntarily.

“He’s a smart kid,” he murmurs into her neck.  “He’s going to figure it out sooner or later…”

Felicity pulls back, serious, “He just lost his mom and he hardly knows you.  The last thing he needs is to get used to someone else.”  Oliver opens his mouth to speak, but Felicity continues, “I know what it’s like to lose a parent, I mean mine left, but still, he’s alone and he’s probably blaming himself for what happened.  And now he’s in a new city, with his dad, who he’s only spent a handful of times with and who he just found out is the Green Arrow.  He’s got a lot on his plate…we agreed.”

Oliver leans in and they touch foreheads, “I know.  You’re right.  It’s just all this sneaking around…”

Felicity laughs softly, “You love it.”  Oliver grins guilty as charged.  He slides a hand down and around her bare bottom adjusting her even closer to him and her breath hitches.

“I do enjoy these afternoon ‘meetings’ of ours.” His voice is low in her ear.  She leans on him, draping her arms around his neck and shoulder, pulling him tighter, deeper inside her.  She rocks her hips back and forth and revels as his grip tightens even more firmly around her and his breath quickens.

Breathless, she says, “what exactly do you tell your assistant?”

“That we’re not to be disturbed under any circumstances.”  He lifts her with one arm and pulls her back down on top of him and they both groan softly.  Her bottom bouncing softly against the top of his thighs.

“What do you tell Curtis?” He asks before leaning her backwards, so he can trail kisses down the column of her neck, one hand sliding between their bodies.

“um..I tell him..ah…OH!”

“Shhh” he says laughingly. “These walls aren’t that thick.”

“Don’t shush me!” She counters with a smile. But, in tacit agreement, she rolls her hips faster, his hands assisting, banishing all conversation.  They move as one until she tips over the edge, her body quaking, her breath holding, she trembles silently as wave after wave of pleasure rocks her.  He follows her and buries his face into the crook of her shoulder, her hair fanning around his head, his mouth toothlessly sucking on her shoulder, deep grunts rising from his belly absorbing into her skin.

Felicity rests her head against his shoulder, eyes closed.  They are quietly content, silently breathing, relaxed, letting the reverberations slowly ebb.

Oliver crooks a smile, “Thank you, I think this ‘meeting’ has been very productive, Mrs. Queen.”  Felicity’s eyes pop open and she sits up and looks at Oliver.

“Didn’t I tell you?  I’m keeping Smoak.”  She eases off his lap pulling down and smoothing the hem of her dress.

“What?” This is news to Oliver. “ What’s wrong with–”  He watches as she grabs her undergarments off the floor where he had discarded them and pulls them on. Her mind elsewhere.

“Or maybe I’ll hyphenate, Smoak-Queen has a nice ring, what do you think?”  She rounds the desk and Oliver stands quickly pulling on his pants. “What’s wrong with Mrs. Queen?”

She shakes her head, her eyes widening, “NOOO, Mrs. Queen is your mother. And your mother is…” Oliver quirks an eyebrow at her, daring her to continue.

She doesn’t rise to the challenge.  She glances into a mirror, checking her hair and face, “your mother…it’s not like you or anyone else is going to be calling me that anyway, since only Digg and Thea know we’re married.”

“Coward.” He says with a smile.

Felicity tips her head back and smiles up at him. He leans down for a kiss, but she rears back slightly, shaking her head no.  He settles for a kiss on the forehead.  “Fine, but next time I am kissing you.”

“Oliver.” she gives him a reproving look.

He grins mischievously, “What?  You said I can’t kiss you on the lips.  You didn’t say anything about anywhere else.”

Felicity groaned when the traffic lights went red right in front of her. The traffic through the city had been hell, so she was already twenty minutes late for picking William up from school. She guessed letting her pick him up from school was not saving him any time compared to taking the bus home today. Who knew, maybe he had already figured that she was late and had taken the bus nonetheless.

5x22 Drabble

Okay so I don’t normally do this, but this has been flooding my brain since I read the 5x22 synopsis. This is my take on what should happen in 5x22 during the party. I really hope you like it xxx

After catching Chase Oliver seemed a bit more relaxed, in his own Oliver kind of way, but she figured that after all the terrible things they all had suffered this past year, having something cheerful and positive to celebrate was just what they needed as a team. Oliver’s birthday seemed to be the perfect excuse and if she was really honest with herself she also wanted to do something special for him.

Turns out that arranging a surprise party for someone whose second name could have been Sherlock proved to be trickier than she initially figured. Since she and Oliver were in a much better place with their relationship, him looking over her shoulder happened more frequently, which made planning everything with him in the room almost impossible. Luckily with the help of some very bad people, being on the loose thanks to Chase, and Curtis next to her to help out whenever they were in the field, the party was arranged in no time and all she could hope for was that until they yell “surprise” he wouldn’t figure out what was going on.

The plan was in motion. Thea was in charge of setting up the decorations, Curtis was on ‘cake-pick-up’ duty and everyone else was helping to get all the final touches in place. All that was needed was the birthday boy and she hoped that her cryptic text wasn’t going to blow up in her face.

The tracker on his phone notified her he was heading their way. They put off the lights and kept quiet, listening to his footsteps as he headed for the front door. He opened the door stepping inside and just when they were ready with their “surprise” he spotted Curtis in the corner of his eye and put him down on the floor ready to punch the hell out of him.

He looked up at everyone standing around him and that’s when he saw the banner ‘Happy Birthday Oliver. He let Curtis go and she could swear she saw a bit of a blush on his cheeks when Quentin not so subtly made known that he told them a surprise party was a bad idea.

Everyone laughed it off and in a moment everything was forgotten and all anyone could concentrate on was the food and champagne.

Laughter and smiles was something they didn’t often get to see with this specific group of people. The change in pace was welcome as she looked around the room inspecting the people that have become her family, some old and some new, but they were her real family none the less.

She missed the face she really wanted to see in the room, but then she spotted him. He was standing out on the balcony. She always thought of the balcony as ‘their spot’. Even when they were not together she went out there alone or to meet Oliver when he conveniently ‘forgot’ the loft had a front door.

Familiar butterflies formed in her stomach the closer she got to the balcony. He was leaning over the railing, looking over the twinkling lights of the city. The memories of a simpler time flooded her mind, but things were different now. So much had happened between them.

“I’ve been looking for you.” she said stepping outside, but he kept his eyes fixed on the view in front of him. The corner of his mouth twitched up, giving a small smile at the sound of her voice.

“Yeah, I’m sorry, I just…I needed some air.” he answered, his voice low.

She stopped next to him, placing her hands on the railing. She looked out in front of him admiring the view, but trying to get her breathing under control. Ever since they got trapped in the bunker something shifted between them. Things between them were lighter, easy again like it was before and even though it was hard to fight their attraction since their little ‘slip up’, it was even harder to fight the sexual tension now.

“Was it too much too soon? I’m sorry I didn’t even think that it might have been too overwhelm…”

“No…it’s perfect.” he cut her off, looking at her for the first time since they were alone. The heat of his hand linked with hers immediately filled her whole body and she had to fight the urge to kiss him right then. “Thank you for this. I…this was so thoughtful and I lo…I really appreciate it.” he added as he looked at her, swallowing thickly for what she can only assume was almost a slip of the tongue. He didn’t keep her gaze for long when he turned and looked back over the city, but his hand remained linked to hers.

“So what’s up then? Is there something wrong?” she asked cautiously. She didn’t want to risk pushing him into telling her something that might push them back to a place where they were distant again.

“For almost a decade I either didn’t know when my birthday was or it just didn’t feel like celebrating, with the exception of course when we were on the road trip and you went out of your way with the sparkles and ice cream….” he chuckled shaking his head.

“Yeah, that was an interesting experience.” she laughed too, blush forming on her cheeks as she thought back to their time away.

“But even then…let’s just say that to me celebrating my birthday was celebrating my life and looking back at my life there was just nothing worth celebrating…I wasn’t worth celebrating.”

“Oliver…” she started, placing her hand on his arm, looking at him, getting herself ready for another pep talk, but he didn’t give her a chance.

“For ten years Felicity I have looked at myself in the mirror. I have looked at the man I am and every time I look at myself every scar, everything that I’ve done is reflected back at me in that mirror and that was a reflection of someone who didn’t deserve a birthday cake or candles or a song, it was the reflection of a damaged, broken man.”

He looked sad, but there was something different in the way he looked at her right now.

“I was so convinced after all these years that I wasn’t worthy and you were right, I kept on hanging on to the past, I kept on reverting back to who I was because I thought that I had to live up to my father’s legacy, I had to right his wrongs, but after everything that happened with my father recently, I realised you were right again…”

“Shocker.” she teased lightly bumping him with her shoulder and the sadness in his eyes changed into something lighter.

“I know I made mistakes, but I know that I can’t continue to hold on to a legacy that’s not mine. I have to be my own man and create a life where I can leave a legacy for William….and hopefully more children to come.”

“I promised you that I would never lie to you again and I know that right now might not be the right time to say anything, but I can’t keep this from you any longer. I’ve made mistakes Felicity and I can’t promise you that I will never make mistakes again, but I’m trying every day to make a choice to be me, to discover who I am….and who I want to be. Felicity I love you and that’s never changed. I tried moving on, I tried seeing where other paths would lead me but every path I’ve taken has led me right back to you.”

She sucked in a breath hearing the words. Her heart swelled with so much love and emotion she had for this man standing in front of her.

“I told you before that the way you make me feel is the best part of my life, Felicity and I meant it then and I mean it now. I don’t know where you are right now where we are concerned and I need you to know that me saying this is in no way pressuring you to act on it, but if I’m going to be honest with myself and honest with you I can’t keep running circles around my feelings for you….”

She leaned up and pressed her lips against his, swallowing whatever words were supposed to come next. It was gentle at first, but after almost a year of ignoring what was between them, he responded immediately and he deepened the kiss. His tongue begging for entrance and she opened up for him in an instant. She draped her arms around his neck and in kind he pulled her closer to him wrapping his arms around her waist. Their closeness and tasting each other after so long just fuelled the fire that’s been simmering inside of them, but she knew they were not alone and even though she would love nothing more than to get lost in each other right now, they had to stop.

She slowed the kiss, and he understood exactly where she was going. He pecked her lips a few times and ended with their lips lingering, breathing the same air as they tried to find their footing back to reality.

“I love you too.” she whispered, looking up into his eyes opening slowly after hearing the words.

Curtis was right. Even after everything they’ve gone through one thing hasn’t changed and that was the way that he looked at her. His eyes were flooded with so much love and even though she knew there were going to be challenges in their future, she wanted him to look at her like that for the rest of her life.

“What do you say you get these people out of here then, so I can ravage you.” he said with a smirk on his face.

She immediately left their cocoon and stepped inside the loft.

“Okay everyone!” she announced, “thank you for coming, but this party is over.”
