A Sugar Baby’s Guide to a Luxury Wardrobe and Brands

FOLLOW ME ON MY SB INSTA ~ I have like no followers because I just started the account & would love to connect with more sugar sisters on another platform! I will be posting shopping hauls and inspiration photos. There will also be restaurant, bar and club recommendations and travel pics! SISTERS ONLY!!! @citysugarbabe

Disclaimer: This is my own opinion, and you are free to disagree! I am not being sponsored or gifted items by any of these brands (I wish!). I am simply just trying to share some of my style tips based off of my own wardrobe :) xo

Will continue to update as I think of more things! This was just off the top of my head. Feel free to send in suggestions, if I use it I will give you credit when I edit the post! Questions also welcome.

Although I am relatively new to the sugar bowl, dressing stylishly and well is something I have done all of my life. I hope my advice can help others! A top, big fish SD is going to dress well, and he’s going to want his SB to do the same. You must exude confidence and style for him to want to pursue you.

If you are a sugar baby looking to build an ultimate, timeless luxury wardrobe look no further - check out my guide below!

T-shirts & Tank Tops - ATM (wonderfully flattering, especially for bigger busts), T by Alexander Wang, Helmut Lang, James Perse
Jeans - rag&bone/JEAN, J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, 7 for all Mankind, J Brand, Current/Elliott, AG Adriano Goldschmidt. Yes I love my denim :)
Anything with a blatant logo on it like True Religion is a NONO.
Shirts - Equipment
Sweatpants - I used to absolutely detest sweatpants but after seeing photos of Rihanna and Gigi rock them, I’m kind of into it. Have my eye on a pair from Fenty X Puma now!

Agent Provocateur (DUH) has the most sexy pieces, they make you feel wonderful about yourself, however I would only wear their stuff to show off for my man. Their bras, corsets, bustiers etc. don’t give much support so if you’re just wearing them trying to run errands your boob may pop out of its cup lol! Very annoying to constantly keep having to tuck it back in under your shirt.

I have quite a large bust, so I shop at Journelle, Stella McCartney, Elle Macpherson, Nancymeyer.com and Chantelle because a lot of other nice brands don’t make my size as much (32DD/E) - these are for sexier but still functional pieces.

Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secret for the most functional underwear.
Hanky Panky has great one size fits most thongs, and Commando for underwear for a tight dress or something that gives NO VPL (visible panty lines!)

Sneakers (for fashion, not the gym) - Golden Goose, Common Projects
Sneakers (for the gym) - Nike
Gianvito Rossi - The new Manolo in my opinion. Not as overdone and not flashy like Louboutins. Wonderfully classic. Something I’d wear to a dream job interview or meeting a boyfriend’s parents.
Louboutins - even though they’re a bit trashy now I still love the sex appeal of a red bottom.. who can resist?
Rochas does beautifully embellished flats that you can wear with a cocktail dress if you aren’t feeling heels!
K. Jacques for flat sandals. Made in St. Tropez but they sell it on Shopbop etc.
Chanel and Lanvin for ballet flats
Love Stuart Weitzman’s highland and lowland boots, even though it seems like everyone and their mother owns a pair. They’re just so flattering and I love that they have them in so many neutral colors.
I like Saint Laurent’s basic flat Chelsea ankle boots. Go with everything in the fall.

Dolce & Gabbana - I LOVE Dolce & Gabbana!! As I said I am quite curvy, and their dresses are absolutely made for my body type.
Cushnie et Ochs - Also sexy AF
Giambattista Valli - When you want to look like an elegant, high fashion flower child
Saint Laurent - SO expensive, more for the extremely thin Kate Moss types, but I just like to look anyways :)
Less expensive but still great: Zimmermann (love Aussie clothing brands), Wheels&Dollbaby, Nicholas, L’Agent, Reformation, For Love & Lemons, Maje

Ralph Lauren, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli
J Crew, Joie, Vince and Everlane (cheaper)

Maxmara for the elegant, most classic pieces EDIT 10/9/2016: Maxmara carries very well-cut and stylishly professional coats. Think Olivia Pope-esque. This is also where Kim K got her iconic camel wrap coat and yes, they still carry it. I have one!
AllSaints for a great rocker chic leather biker jacket - try a mens one to increase the cool factor
Rick Owens - Also great for leather jackets, but more elegant and definitely more expensive
Chanel: Their tweed jackets and coats are ultimate and so timeless- wear one with a simple white t shirt, jeans and booties to achieve that Parisian je ne sais quoi.
Yves Salomon does a great fur coat, EDIT 10/9/2016: that isn’t AS expensive as other top fur designers… think $5000-$10,000 which is still mega expensive but still far cheaper than J Mendel whose furs can fetch up to 60k (or even more)! and the quality is still great. I used to get Elizabeth and James furs for like a $1000 but tbh they looked cheap. I think if you can’t afford good fur, it’s best to spend on other areas, because cheap fur just makes you look, well, cheap!

Chanel. Duh.
Never used to like Gucci but their new horsebit Dionysus bags (in plain suede without the Gucci logo) are to die for
Valentino Rockstud (a little bit passé but I still like mine)
Mansur Gavriel for something timeless and not too flashy
Saint Laurent for a tote bag. If you’re young, in my opinion this is a much better alternative than an Hermes Birkin or Kelly. I think for a young girl to be carrying a Birkin is a little bit… much. Although if you have found an SD who will buy you a Birkin then I say the more power to you, you’re clearly doing much better than me and feel free to ignore my advice - if fact can I have your advice?? lol

EDIT OCT. 9, 2016:

Where do I shop?
Great question - so. many. places.

Online (just google the names, I’m too lazy to hyperlink haha. Maybe another day):

Net-a-porter: love, and they do same-day courier delivery in NYC, London and Hong Kong
Moda Operandi: swoon-worthy site. You can pre-order next season’s clothes custom made for you straight off the runway, and they show up at your door just in time for the season! You put a 50% deposit down when you place the order at first, and pay the rest a few months later when the clothing piece is completed. I trick myself into believing that it’s budgeting, lol.
Revolve Clothing
TheRealReal (You can get some GREAT designer pre-owned and vintage on the cheap here, AND sell your old designer stuff you don’t want anymore! Note they only accept from a preselected list of designers, check that your item’s brand is on the list before sending anything in to sell)
Vestiaire Collective (same as theRealReal)
Forward by Elyse Walker
TheOutNet (Net-a-porter’s sale site. I’ve found some fantastic deals here. But be sure to check everyday because they definitely sell out fast)
Barneys, Saks, Selfridges, Bergdorfs etc. - I know these are department stores, but their websites are surprisingly well-maintained and carry a really good stock of stuff from top designers.

Happy Hatchday, Wheatley!

March 10th is Wheatley’s designated hatchday! I wanted to make a special post for my little wheat noodle. He’s turning 3 this year. I got him at only 4 months old and it feels like yesterday, but by June I will have officially had him for three years. Time flies.

Happy hatchday, Wheatley! Love you and hope to have you for many years to come!

Pages from my Starbucks x Moleskine 2016 planner: One of my favorite + go-to color schemes. I usually use this color scheme on pages that have long to-do lists or full schedules. It calms me down when I browse through them and makes the workload look tolerable. 😊

Some planner/journal design tips:

  • If your planner/journal doesn’t have a standard layout or style like mine, try to envision how you want the page to turn out before designing it. Decide on a color scheme, the materials you will use, and the placement of photos and other elements. That way, you’ll save time and avoid having a messy and non-cohesive layout.
  • Having difficulty drawing, painting, or making stuff in general? Make use of prints and words found in magazines or catalogs! (old issues will do!)
  • Recommended supplies: Elmer’s Disappearing Purple School Glue Stick, Scotch Magic Tape, and 0.4 mm Pilot G-Tec C4 Rollerball Pen

P.S. I’m working on a Planner/Journal 101 series since it’s almost time to get our 2017 planners! If you have any questions, send them my way through the ask box and I’ll do my best to answer them when I launch the series! 😘

19. I like to watch Bollywood movies.

20. My karaoke song is anything by Oasis.

21. My favorite television shows are Brass Eye and The OA.

Inuyasha knew he hated Kagome for an irrational reason. She couldn’t help the fact that she looked like the ex that stomped on his heart ‘til it was ground meat. But, it was the principle of it all.

“I’d really like it if you put your differences aside to get along with her,” Miroku said beseechingly. “Sango and I are getting married, and you two are going to play a huge part in it.”

Hgtv drinking game

-Take a shot every time a designer says recess lighting
-Sip when someone acts like seeing old wall paper and/or crown moulding is the worst tragedy they’ve ever experienced
-Finish drink when the husband says something clearly scripted such as “wow i love these cathedral ceilings” or “the natural light in the space makes it feel so open”

Time to introduce my two new bbs 💕 Say “Hello” to Cassiopeia and her lil brother Aiden! They are 17 and 16 years old and have a matching tattoo on their neck (△ for Cassio & ▲ for Aiden)
They are my RPCs for the “Dreamwalker” RPG in my own forum (It´s a story where the charas are able to controle their dreams and even visit each other while dreaming)

I finished Cassio a while ago, but I wanted to post them when both are finished so I had to wait, till I had time to post Aiden as well :D

It literally just occurred to me that the weird knife alien from Space Mall was also 10k+ years old?  He says “I haven’t seen this in decafeebs”, ie he hasn’t seen luxite since about when the Galra homeworld was destroyed.

If most space-faring civilizations began pre-FTL travel, long lives make sense? You dedicating your own lifetime from getting to point A to point B, not multiple generations.  So maybe the big players in original contact/design tended to be long-lived by nature.  Because Coran is at LEAST 1,000 years old.  He was the next ‘stage’ down in his time jumping at the time the Black Lion was being built.  Unless that was significantly after?  Was the Castle of Lions built before the lions?  Were the lions designed/named after the _castle?_

Voltron, I want a timeline.  Give me the timeline.

Sorry for the delay in updating my Cinderella AU! Got a bit busy and I wanted to get these out of the way so I can focus on the story again.

Nathanael Desrosiers (surname means “of the rose bush”): the second son of the Desrosiers household who is a shy but talented young painter. (I had a hard time with Nath’s color palette… it’s not really something for a medieval setting)

Theo Barbeau: a sculptor and metal craftsman whose lifelike work has become quite common in many noble households.

Alya Cesaire: (I just wanted to draw her ball gown for fun. Her owl pendant is a direct reference to the tavern she works at called “the Wise Owl’s Haven”.)

Estelle Agreste: the late queen who passed away at the age 30 when Adrien was just 9 years old. (I actually drew her design a day right before the origins episodes came out so I didn’t know we’d actually get to see Mama Agreste so soon! Anyway, I grew attached to my design so it will stay only for the Cinderella AU. Outside of that, I will use the canon design in the future.)

Thomas and Sabine Dupain-Cheng: parents of Marinette; Thomas, or Tom as he’s often called, trades spice and dried herbs for a living. He travels once or twice a month to sell at the nearest port. Sabine helps Tom manage/keep accounts while occasionally selling embroidery or stuffed toys. Thomas died at the age of 36 when Mari was 10 years old. Sabine passed away at the age of 34 when Mari was 15 years old.

I just realised that I never really stated the age of Marinette and Adrien, so they’re both 17 years old. When I drew the design for the deceased parents, I couldn’t help but draw a bit of Mari’s and Adrien’s childhood. I’m a sucker for those. Adrien was quite obsessed with pirates. Also Gabriel actually spent time with him, even if it’s just reading before bedtime.

I’ll be honest, I have no idea how to handle jealousy so Adrien maybe out of character?? I don’t know haha. I’ll be continuing the next part of the story (the Ladybug hunt/shoe-fitting fiasco!) so I apologize for the detour lol.

Was thinking how I could revamp old Rin’s design to fit in the current ideals of Piltover…. her being a pre-grad back then vs where she is at now. Piltover changed a lot in design and lore, but I still wanted to give her a kind of shabby Tech look while also crossing the idea that she originated from Bandle during this time. SOOOO you see a little bit of that, especially in her foot ware.

She learned very fast that boots of some kind is MUCH better when working in a lab scenario compared to wrappings or bangles and going bare foot.

She also created the scar on her tail during this time in an accident. Fur is very flammable, guys. So is oil. The two combined was not cool. Fire extinguishers, however, are awesome.

Also!!! Way back, I had not thought of Rin’s glider either! That became a development of her as well!! I created the glider for her almost 2-3 years after her original design, Did you know?

Also, ditched the bell because weeeeeeeeb.

I don’t know if you guys noticed this during her development, but I always kept her bandanna. It was meant for it to move around her neck instead. I liked it better that way and still kept the dash of red to her design :) That’s the one thing I’ve always kept on her design despite how she has changed over the years.

With Crash doing so well, what other games you like to see remastered?

A few really. The original Spyro the dragon trilogy. Everyone wants to see the dragon back in action in his proper routes since Crash got his remastered collection. I only played the first Spyro game. If they could do that, I’d be very happy. There’s also a cult favorite game, Medievil.

I mostly remember playing only the demo of the game when I was little, I couldn’t get a full copy since I wasn’t old enough at the time. I did enjoy the designs for the game. I saw a lot of influence from Tim Burton in it. I would like to see this game remastered so we can see those designs used for their full potential. Aside from this game. There’s also this game

Darkwing Duck had an amazing NES game from the 90s, which had elements inspired by capcom’s Megaman(which worked). Ever since Disney made Ducktales Remastered. One thing I would love to see a reality would be Wayforward to develop a remastered version of Darkwing Duck. Disney may not see the $$ in it since they’re not doing console games anymore, if this could happen. I’d buy it in a heartbeat. And lastly. There’s this one

While others had Mario Kart 64, I had Crash Team Racing. I know that Vicarious Visions did state they’d do a new Crash game if N sane did well enough. I want to see them remaster this one before they do that. Include some of the old characters that we didn’t get to see in this game as unlockable racers(e.g Tawna, N Brio, and Kolala Kong). Think of how insane online racing would be to race against your friends. If activision wants more money, they better strike while the iron is hot.

i found this old drawing of a dress design for a hypothetical prom dress i did when i was sixteen. let it be known i wore a dress MUCH cooler (it was hawaiian print) to my sixth form prom but i thought maybe i could improve upon/80s-ify the dress 16-yr-old-me wanted. so this is more like…if 21-yr-old-me went back in time, made the dress and had her say.

i’d wear this now, i would, and i dont even like wearing dresses.

My Biggest Plot Twist

There have been several, but I have to say me going back to nursing school at almost 30 years old.

I’d studied fine arts and graphic design in college, dropped out before graduation, got married at 21, had two kids, stayed home for a while to be a full time mom, and when my second baby was 1, I went back to work in a doctor’s office due to finances - that simple decision became a game changer.

I loved being in health care and working with people/patients. I went from being a clerk in the office, to training to be a medical assistant, and then decided I wanted to be a nurse.

So at 30 years old with two kids, I went back to school full time.

Best. Decision. Ever.

If you’d have told me 30 years ago that I would someday be working in healthcare, I’d have thought you were crazy. From labor & delivery, to clinical teaching, to consulting, to oncology and now hospice - one of the best things about nursing is that you can use your one degree to do so many different things.

There’s zero doubt in my mind that I’ve found my heart, my mission.

Rebubble Update

Hey-o everyone!

I’m just popping by to let y’all know my Red-Bubble shop has been updated!
By popular traffic, I’ve put up the Casual Wear series in the shop for a little while! Among other paintings laying around, you can get my artwork in various forms! My red bubble will update accordingly to art works that I feel are worthy enough to sell and as I come out with prints/pattern designs just for my shop! I’ve got a few things in mind laying around, I just to need to finish them and get them out there!
As usual, I’ll let you know when updates will happen to the shop!

Looking back, I think that Breezie was handled pretty well in the Archie Comics in spite of the redesign.

If you asked me a month ago I would have agreed, but I’ve since boomeranged on Breezie in the Archie book, and I realise why I didn’t really care for her to begin with. Now, this is all my own opinion so take this all with a good grain of salt. In fact, don’t take a grain of salt; this article is salty enough and you’ll need it to reply when you’re done reading.

Do you have any tips on drawing bendy? Not anything like a how to just what would you advise someone to do who hasn't drawn him before?

ROUND IS YOUR FRIEND!  Take a look at older cartoon styles, ones that actually come from the 1930s.  Here are some good, emotive examples:

Pay very close attention to just how much the basic rules of anatomy are tweaked in these old cartoons!  Limbs are reduced to noodles (that’s right – you’ll have to actively forget about elbows and knees!), bodies are deformed to show the best post, and a lot of these cartoons are more concerned with being expressive than they are with being cute (though “cute” is indeed the end result with many of them)!

The hands are another big thing – many of these characters wear gloves, since the rounded shapes of gloves are easier to draw repeatedly than detailed knuckles (though knuckles definitely showed up when needed for certain characters).  The palm is a circle, and the fingers are sausages – very little definition to them!

Now, take a look at Bendy.

You might immediately notice some of the general “rules” I mentioned are being broken with his design.  For starters, he has defined elbows when they bend, his hands are a tad too detailed for the style of the time, and the varying line weights on his model are EXTREMELY uncommon for the 1930s!  Bendy’s design is something of a modern take on old cartoons, incorporating more modern design cues (like varied line weights) and differently-stylized features (such as the grin and the hands) along with some more identifiable “old-timey” traits (such as the heart-shaped white face and the button eyes).

If you want to stay true to his in-game model, it’s worth it to study his proportions a bit – his head is the biggest feature, followed by an egg-shaped body, elongated arms, and teenytiny legs.  His head is a circle with a half-circle taken from the top, and his face patch is another circle within the resulting moon shape with a wide pizza slice taken out of the top.  His eyes are VERY widely set apart.

I tend to draw him pretty off-model, all things considered – my style tends to lengthen his legs, change the shape of his body to more of a bean, and enlarge both his hands and feet.  I also draw his eyes much closer together than they actually are (worth noting, btw – most older cartoons had much closer-set eyes; this feature makes Bendy look a bit uncanny), because it helps with expression.  He’s actually got a lot of defined teeth, but I simplify them to just a few when I draw him, too.

Really, my tips on how to draw him boil down to “study his design.”  I could do tutorials both on how to draw his official model and how to draw him the way I do, but how YOU draw him is going to be different depending on what you’re comfortable with.  Play around with his shapes, keeping in mind his official design, and you’ll get the hang of it!
