Chiesa di S. Maria del Tiglio. lago di Como, Lombardia (Church of St. Mary of Linden, Lake Como, Lombardy), Italy
The church dates back to the 12th century AC. It was probably built on a pre-existing old Roman temple: First Christian churches were often built in ancient pagan places of worship, to make people forget the old rites.
Its name would derive from a linden, that would have grown on its tower bell, after its building.
