old building

Jeborga (Salem) Mansion, 1878, architect Xenophon Peonidis. Vasilissis Olgas Avenue – Thessaloniki, Greece. During WW1 it changes occupants: after the departure of the Salem’s family in 1915 it is used as the Consulate of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and then is used, for many years, as the Italian Consulate. It is considered characteristic of the neo-baroque eclecticism, which dominates the city. Today the house remains property of the Italian State and is unfortunately deserted.
