..i got hit by a LOOOTTT of plot holes all of a sudden so heres some things that will probably never be addressed
amethyst, along with the blue court famethyst, all came out of a kindergarten. in beta, its basically confirmed that jasper came out of that exact same one. jasper also refers to pink as “amethysts diamond” when she’s being corrupted. if we put that all together, we can probably assume the famethsyt was originally in pink diamonds court. how do THEY feel about pink being shattered? how were THEY affected?
how exactly are different types of gems created? for example, bismuths and pearls shouldnt just be able to be cultivated in the ground because theyre not naturally crystalline. whats the difference between era 1 and era 2 gems? HOW WERE THE DIAMONDS CREATED?
the cluster is still inside of earth. she’s bubbled, yes, but she is still very much STILL IN THERE.
did we ever get solid evidence that ALL the shard fusion gems were bubbled? are some of them still out there?
why did yellow diamond a. not give specific instructions to retrieve peridot after her outburst, b. not realize that all of her rubies sent to retrieve jasper never came back, and c. STOP CHECKING ON THE CLUSTER?
why have we never seen a white court gem?
rose never denied being a hypocrite and a liar for bubbling bismuth and never telling her closest friends about it
if steven knew the rose in the room wasnt actually rose and was only saying what he wanted to hear, why was he so quick to forgive her? he literally said “you’re just what i want you to be”
none of the gems that interacted with holly blue, save for amethysts shapeshifting, had the usual uniform with their diamond on it, fuck, pearl has a STAR on her outfit, why didnt holly blue catch onto that?
WHY DID THE GEMS SCRAP THE ADVANCEMENTS BISMUTH PUT ON THEIR WEAPONS!?
I don’t know what I did to deserve him. But I absolutely adore Scott. Seeing how he looks at me, his smile, his sense of humor, touch, embrace… Everything about him. Being with him I finally feel content and happy. Hearing him tell me I’m beautiful and how much he loves being around me and how he thinks about me all the time- its all so surreal. I never thought I’d meet someone. But my god, the one I did? He’s amazing. I can’t imagine my life without him now.
I can’t believe my first post EVER is going to be an analysis inspired by an edit.
(sorry in advance for any grammar errors, this isn’t my first language)
So, has anyone noticed how each alien race that joined the resistance so far kind of represent each paladin minus Shiro?
Galra (rebel)s: Keith
(Idk if Arusians are actually countable since they’re really primitives)
And then there’s Shiro. That poor guy doesn’t even have an alien race who represents him.
…or does he?
Before we go further, let’s point out how each of those alien races represent not only The paladins, but also their elements (and their Lions, kinda):
Galras, who are connected to Keith were in posses of the Red lion in ep1, and I can’t remember where, but I’m sure at one point in an episode there were both fire and the Galra empire in the same place, I think it was when they destroyed Altea I guess?
Mermaids, Lance, Water, Blue being op in the water and unlocking her power-up there. Need something else?
Balmeras, again, Hunk, earth, maybe no power-up here but he unlocked it when he was saving those guys in s2 trying to hold the earth in its place while they were waiting for emo and princess
Olkarins, Pidge, forest, unlocked power. I think you understood the point
Shiro Is The Black Paladin, whom we Can all agree that represents space, and he’s without doubts the team leader (S2 final doesn’t fool me, I know he’ll be back), and which is that one race whose only survivors are travelling across space and are the leaders of the rebellion?
Yep. You got it. Alteans.
And it fits, doesn’t it? The leader of the team who use the only weapon that Can defeat the Galra Empire being represented by the alien race leader of the rebellion.Besides, a parallelism:
Both Shiro and Altea were “destroyed” by Galras, and now they’re both fighting against it (Altea intended as Coran, Allura and the Castle), recovering from their loss, but still kind of connected trought something to those purple furries (Shiro and his arm, Alteans and Zarkon as exBPaladin and Haggar or Lotor maybe? I hope they get a good background). Besides, it’s not really new this symbolism kinda thing on Voltron (S1e6 bg, Shiro’s right arm being Galra and Keith being the right arm of Voltron, and so goes on. I know these are seen more like jokes, but someone can wish)
One more thing: I’ve seen an Altean!Shiro / Druid!Shiro theory and I’m 90% sure that I reblogged it (I’ll put the link later but right now I can’t due to pc problems but it was made by @smolsarcasticraspberry) so this ramble sort of connects to that? Kinda? Because if him, who we said that represents Altea, whom is permanently damaged by Galras but is fighting back, turns out as Altean, then his heritage, his arm and his PTSD and his fight against it would form a giant-ass physical representation of the twisted story of these poor humanoid, pointy-ears and shapeshifting aliens.
(Besides, this could mean more Shallura so everyone’s happy)
Sorry if I made some grammar mistakes, but english isn’t my first language and I’m not that old to be super-fluent, but I wanted to express my thoughts on this since I’ve never seen a post mentioning this.
People can oversimplify Aries sometimes. Yes, Aries is a sign that is known to be straightforward and simple, but Aries as a sign isn’t simple. If Aries was simple, it would be easily understood by others. However, there’s always some misunderstanding about Aries.
Aries are often symbolized to be the baby of the zodiac. This makes sense. They’re the first sign in the zodiac, and they’re the sign to start off the spring season. In the spring, things are created and born. There’s an initiation of creation. However, it can be hard to understand a baby at first. Until you have numerous experiences with a baby, it can definitely be hard to get along with one. An Aries is the same way and in this sense, they are constantly misunderstood by others.
In my opinion, it’s intriguing to find a sign who is associated with war and conflict, but then with childish innocence at the same time. It’s hard to place two very different images of Aries together: the warrior and the baby. The warrior is strong, aggressive, and dangerous. The baby is weak, harmless, and innocent. The warrior has seen the bloody details of war, while the baby has just been born into the world, not knowing a thing. With this, Aries can present a contradicting image that can be misunderstood by others. While Aries is skilled in combat against others, Aries also lacks the awareness of the people around them.
Although these two images are very different, I think this is where the “survivor” archetype of Aries comes from. When you are a survivor, you have faced peril and overcame it. The circumstances of course can vary, but the connotation with the word survivor can imply someone who has faced unfamiliar experiences (the baby) but has worked skillfully against difficulty and lived (warrior.)
The baby and warrior archetypes ultimately work together to create the survivor archetype. The survivor archetype may be the ultimate archetype an Aries is to reach in their lives. There are negative characteristics of the baby and warrior archetypes, but if the good characteristics are harmoniously put together, I think the survivor archetype will be achieved.
While the manifestation of Aries can be simple compared to the other signs, I believe Aries as a sign itself is complex. I feel that there are a lot of seemingly contradicting images of Aries that can be ignored because they’re seen to be the “most simple sign” out of all the signs.
