Spring Witchy Recipes

Here are some recipes I have made or have been trying out for spring!

Three Flower Sugar -

  • 1 oz lavender
  • 1 dried rose, just the petals
  • 1 oz dried chamomile or honeysuckle

Grind in a mortal and pestle, add ½ cup of sugar and grind until powder fine. Store in pink jar for love spells, self care spells, and to amplify the properties of the flowers.

Uses: Sprinkle on sugar cookies for Beltane rituals, stir into an herbal tea, sprinkle over offerings for the fae, use in a self care spell jar, use in spells to sweeten relationships or communication, etc.

Floral Tincture -

Great for making drinks, baking, or use in potions for Spring celebrations.

  • equal parts dried lavender, honeysuckle, chamomile, elder flowers, roses etc (I used chamomile, elder flowers, and honeysuckle.)
  • 1 jar (dark jar if possible)
  •  just enough vodka or other 180 proof alcohol to just cover the flowers, maybe ½ in over the dried materials
  1. Place flowers into jar, cover with alcohol and shake vigorously.
  2. Store in a dark cool place.
  3. Shake periodically
  4. let steep for 4 weeks or more
  5. Strain through a fine mesh strainer/coffee filter or muslin cloth, squeeze excess out of the flowers.
  6. Strain through coffee filter or muslin cloth once more and bottle in a glass bottle/jar.

Uses: Use in cooking recipes like you would vanilla extract or other baking flavorings, use an eye dropper to drop into sparkling water/tea for a refreshing drink, use like bitters in a martini recipe, use for potions or spells, etc.

Lavender Meyer Lemon Mint Tea -

From the book “infuse”

  • 8 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 4 sprigs dried lavender
  • 4 Meyer lemon peels
  • 30 oz of water

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher in the refrigerator over night (for at least 10 hours). A relaxing and refreshing drink for  all spring celebrations. :) Also can be used for cleansing and purifying properties to boost your Spring Cleaning, from the inside out.

This truly was one of the best days I’ve had. I am feeling so blessed to know such an amazing soul who graciously sent me these 10gs of various extracts. And the syringe is 95% thc distillate. He is so pure and I am so grateful I have him I will never be able to express that enough.

Also featuring my little artistix dna oil rig, all UV and slyme, the headiest rig I own! 💚

Coconut oil sugar scrubs are great for scrubbing off dead skin and moisturizing as well; 2 parts sugar and 1 part liquidized coconut oil usually does the trick, but feel free to experiment with different ratios! You can also add a bit of vanilla extract to make your scrub smell extra sweet!

The scrub will harden into almost a lotion because of the coconut oil, but can be reheated back into a liquid, OR can just be used in its cooled, hardened state!

Creamy Lemon Bars

Serves 9

1 cup (120 g) raw cashews
1 cup (240 g) coconut cream (the hardened portion at the top of full fat coconut milk)
2 Tbsp (14 g) arrowroot or cornstarch
½ cup (120 ml) lemon juice (~2 large lemons)
1 heaping Tbsp (4 g) lemon zest (~1 large lemon)
Pinch sea salt
¼ cup (60 ml) maple syrup, plus more to taste

1 cup (90 g) oats
1 cup (112 g) almonds
¼ tsp sea salt
2 Tbsp (24 g) coconut sugar
1 Tbsp (15 ml) maple syrup
4-5 Tbsp (60-75 g) coconut oil, melted

Mental Clarity Shower Spell

~Shower spell for focus, clarity, and understanding~

1. Coconut Oil

2. Dried Mint

3. Empty jar or container

4. Peppermint oil

5. Organic Sugar

(These aren’t brand specific, this is just what I happened to have in my pantry.)

1. Mix together equal parts coconut oil and sugar in the empty container

(this is about how much sugar I used)

2. Ad 2-5 drops of peppermint oil, and a layer of dried mint

3. Stir together well

4. Use as any other sugar scrub in shower, focusing on scrubbing away confusion and revealing clarity

1. 5 drops of peppermint oil creates a very strong smell. I am currently Allergy Queen of Congestion Land, so it was great for me, but if you aren’t stick to less drops.

2. If the lid of your container is metal, remove it before you get in the shower to avoid rust.

3. If mixing the coconut oil and sugar is difficult, microwaving the coconut oil melts it and makes mixing easier. However, if you intend to use it immediately, if the coconut oil is still melted when you are done, pop it in the freezer for about 20 minutes to re-solidify the oil.

Do you have any tips on what you should do before and after a wax so you don't get ingrown hairs?

-exfoliate beforehand. this is v important and greatly reduces the risk of ingrown hairs. use a washcloth or exfoliating gloves. i don’t recommend using scrubs because they usually either have oil or sugar & neither belong in that region tbh.

-wear loose clothing like a skirt or a cotton dress or sweats. i wore tight pants right after my first wax and i regretted that shit so much. tight pants cause friction, make you sweat, block your pores and all that other bad stuff 😖 . plus it hurts to wear tight pants when your kitty is sensitive 😿

-when you get home afterwards, washcloth and run really cold water on it. as cold as you can take it. and then hold the washcloth down there. this will “close” the pores down there and also help with any swelling. you can put aloe vera and/or witch hazel down there too (don’t get it inside yourself) to soothe your skin as well. avoid using any heavy oils, lotions or scented things down there right after a wax.

-dry off down there by patting down there with a towel, and then apply some unscented stick deodorant. this will give you extra protection against ingrowns and keep u smooth.

-like i mentioned before, avoid wearing tight clothes for the first day or two to be one the safe side.

DIY Lip Scrub

My daughter and I made this lip scrub today that we came across on Pinterest! This is perfect to use before applying your lip stain or even any of your lip products! Exfoliating your lips helps the lip stain go on much easier and much more evenly!

We did use the Vanilla extract in ours and coconut oil instead of Olive oil because for no other reason except that I just love coconut oil :)

small bowl
1 TBSP sugar
1 TBSP honey
1 tsp olive oil or coconut oil
1 small container (I save my eye cream, pigment etc containers and wash them out)
Optional: Vanilla or peppermint extract
Optional: Food coloring (I did pink - pick a practical color as it may stain lips a little)

Combine honey & sugar in a small bowl.
Add olive or coconut oil & mix well.
If you want it flavored add in a drop of vanilla or peppermint extract
If you’re feeling creative, add 1-2 drops of food coloring (go light on this or it may stain lips)
Put your scrub into a container.

Before bed, rub a small amount of the scrub onto your lips.
Rinse off with water.
Apply lip balm.
Use twice a week for super soft lips!

Fried Bread Crusts from Sansha Sanyou

(Airfryer non-burnt easy version)

I think this is one dish where you don’t want it to turn out exactly like the anime…

While thinking of what to do with the bread crusts after the Egg Sandwiches with Jam from Pan de Peace, I realized that there was another Spring anime that had the answer - Sansha Sanyou! (The other option is to eat bread crusts with mayonnaise)

  • Bread crusts
  • Butter
  • Sugar

  1. Butter each bread crust and pop into fryer
  2. Fry in airfryer for 5-7 mins at 200 C
  3. Sprinkle sugar over it and enjoy!

And easy, cheap snack to make, (if you don’t burn it). Using powdered sugar might work better though, because this sugar didn’t really cling onto the bread without additional grease.

Also, heads up to all followers!

I’m almost at 400 (399, in fact), and I’ve thought up of a fun event for all of you when I (hopefully) hit 500! So keep your eyes peeled. :)

✨🍮🍓🍦 juicy berry compote plantcake stack 🍦🍓🍮✨ topped w nicecream + carob sauce 👌🏽 heres the recipe fam:
½ cup quick oats
2tbsp buckwheat (ground)
2tbsp chia seeds
1tbsp apple cider vinegar
Soak these 👆🏽 w enough water to cover overnight.
In the AM, check the consistency, it should be similar to a watery porridge (not too thick), add water till you reach the right consistency.
Then add 1tsp baking powder, and blend the mixture till smooth. Note: you can add sweetener if you like, I personally prefer w/out as I like to top it w lots of goodies!
On a non stick pan on medium/high heat, when the pan is fully heated, cook them.
To make the berry ‘compote’ I simply heated frozen blueberries w some water until juicy, adding spices or syrup if you like. I also added a scoop of nice cream + fresh pomegranate + @thecarobkitchen carob sauce ✨ happy Friday! X

Cinnamon Sugar Snowball Bath Bomb

Isn’t this bath bomb pretty?  I love how the cinnamon and sugar sparkle!  This was my first attempt at making a bath bomb, and you know, it was super easy.  If you purchase bath bombs, you know how expensive a habit it is.  Making your own will save you a ton of money, plus you can customize your bath bomb to your taste.  Also, these are perfect for gifts; you know Valentine’s Day is approaching!  If you just set-aside just 1 hour, you can make customized bath bombs for all of your family and friends.

This recipe is from the Winter 2015 Chickpea Magazine.  The original recipe called for canola oil, I used olive oil, but you can use any oil you prefer.  Coconut and almond oil would also be excellent choices.

I added the cinnamon and sugar topping to mine, and scented the bath bomb with cinnamon essential oil.  The mold I used was a vintage baking pan.  You can use also use molds that are solely made for making bath bombs.

If you want to add dried herbs or flowers to the tops, add those to the mold first, then fill with the bath bomb mixture.

I tripled this recipe, which made 3 medium sized bath bombs.

Ingredients for bath bomb:

2 T organic baking soda
1 T organic corn starch
1 T epsom salts
1 T non-gmo citric acid
¼ t organic olive oil (or oil of your choice)
¾ t organic cinnamon oil

Ingredients for bath bomb topping:

1 T organic pure cane sugar
1 t organic cinnamon

Mix together the sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle into your mold(s) so it covers the entire bottom. Set-aside.

In a medium sized bowl, mix together the baking soda, corn starch, epsom salts, and citric acid.  Set-aside.

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and essential oil.

Add the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir mixture together until it resembles wet sand.  You can add additional oil if needed to get the right consistency.

Firmly pack the mixture into each mold(s).  Let the bath bombs dry for 24 hours before gently removing from the mold(s).  If the bath bomb it still a little damp when removed, let air dry for a bit.
