oi series

Thumbnails for the new webseries I and a few friends of mine will be creating, Objective Inanimate! It’s about a group of misfit objects who were rejected by society and abandoned on a deserted shoreline. They discover a sinister secret, and then the real adventure begins!

Feel free to reblog! I would love my idea to receive some attention!

The other night my sister and I were discussing long book series and prolific writers, and Animorphs came up (well, 28 books in that series were ghost-written, but you know). In the same breath, P. G. Wodehouse came up. It was the work of a moment for us to jump from that to “What if P. G. Wodehouse had written the Animorphs series!” :-O

I mean, can you imagine such a glorious thing? A long-form alien invasion story framed as a comedy of manners/errors/mistaken-identity/cow-creamers/prize-pigs/thrice-stolen-necklaces?

What if instead of the usual: “We can’t tell you who we are. Or where we live. It’s too risky, and we’ve got to be careful. Really careful. So we don’t trust anyone. Because if they find us… well, we just won’t let them find us.”

You had openings like: “I’m not absolutely certain of my facts but I rather fancy it’s Shakespeare - or if not it’s some equally brainy bird - who says that it’s just when a fellow is feeling particularly braced with things in general that fate sneaks up behind him with the bit of lead piping. And what I’m driving at is that the man is perfectly right! Take, for instance, the business of Visser 3 and the parasitic invasion of Earth.”
